This is my first time ever trying Pho Bac Cafe new dish, the bun Bo hue. I would usually order the pho, but I wanted to give this a try. Glad that I did, because it was good! The broth is tasty with a hint of the fermented fish and the pork knuckle was so tender that the meat fell off of it! I think I kind of caught the owner off guard with this order, because she always knew what I wanted when dining here. It's always a pleasure because she's so sweet and always smiling no matter how busy they get. As for the ambiance, Pho Bac Cafe is in a little plaza among other restaurants and businesses. It's just super busy at times and can get a little loud. But that's totally fine, I wouldn't expect anything else from a pho restaurant. But please try their bun Bo hue. This is a solid spot in Renton for Vietnamese food. Today, we ordered pork vermicelli noodles and pho dac biet. The pho was delicious! I could drink the pho broth all day every day! Also, it had a good meat to noodle to broth proportion! The pork vermicelli noodle dish was delicious but it didn't have enough noodles so it was a bit of a struggle to get meat and noodles and veggies in one bite. All in all, this is a good spot and I'd love to come back, especially for the pho! Oh and don't forget the Vietnamese coffee! It's strong and just sweet enough! This review is mainly about Pho. 48 year old south east asian male here. Been eating pho since I was a baby. I eat pho about once a week. I make it at home about once every few month. Have eaten at 100+ pho restaurants in multiple states. With that said....... Pho Bac Cafe has the best overall pho I've ever had! The broth is very flavorful, it's beefy, salty in a good way, smells wonderful, not oily and clean. Has good ratio of meat to noodles to soup. The beef is tender. The noodles are cooked well. The pho is served fast and hot. The broth is not sweet so if you like sweet broth, you will have to add hoisin. The prices are on the lower end compare to other places around the area. $15 including tax for a large bowl as of 12/9/2025. All the menu prices already include tax. The pho is consistent as the turn over is near zero. The same couple has been running this place for the last 20 plus years. The wife works the front of the restaurant and the husband runs the kitchen. They are very nice people. By the way Pho Bac Rainer in Seattle is a very very close second maybe 1A, 1B with this place. Pho Asia Noodle House in Everett is solid. Many pho loving friends recommend Miss Pho in North Seattle and is on my list to try very soon. read more

Unfortunately this used to be our go to spot for pho. But the other day was a weird experience. It was the same people who always host us, but were not as gracious as they usually are. The food was good, the service was bleh. They didn't refill our waters, the napkin dispenser was empty, and I had to get up a few times because they didn't give us enough utensils and we needed just two more squeezes of lime (no problem on that) but the utensils on the other hand, you see how many people are at the table - it should have been called for how much we needed. The end interaction was what got me, planned to already leave cash tip as I usually do since I pay with apple pay. When I got to pay my total came to $44. But we only ordered two large pho which was $15 each and 1 kid pho which was $8. For the time I have came here in the past three years, it's always been price was included with tax. So has that changed? Because it should have been $38. I don't understand how it became $44. Because if tax was included of 10.2 tax it would be $38 + $3.88 = $41.88 - so that's $2.12 more which I have no issue at all. But the fact that when I asked for a receipt and if that was the total for it all, they said no receipt available. But I usually get one for my records to add to my Fetch. Anyways, I was thrown that I had an extra $6 on my bill. And if that's because they just included tip themselves - fine. You should have just told me that honestly and it would have been left at that. But for the young girl to just charge me that when my food wasn't that total was so odd to me. We just won't be returning to this place especially because I felt at the end of the day this was a racially profiled experience which sucks so hard - I don't want me or my family to feel that way again. So just know to check your total before you guys pay because they could be adding hidden fees or gratuity already that you do not know about. read more

Found myself PHOlling BAC into a cold post-vacay, so my uncle and aunty took me to this spot to start the healing process. My uncle swears by this place, as it is one he stops frequently at for his lunch break. He's such a regular that our order was already decided for: - goi cuôn/fresh spring rolls: appreciated that theirs had meat in addition to shrimp. - cha gio/fried spring rolls: I mean, no complaints here. - com thit nuong/grilled pork rice plate: the way they cooked/marinated it was perfect. - combination pho: I surprised myself and managed to finish a large portion in one sitting. The meats were well cooked. The broth was tasty, however, I needed sriracha and hoisin sauce to give it more flavor. The toppings were fresh but meager in portion compared to other places I'be been to. Overall, this is a solid place. Not my favorite but tasty nonetheless! I initially ordered to go, but their togo lids were bent because the soup was too hot and everything spilled on my car. I called them and they said to replace it for me. When I came to pick up, they said "Oh, you're that guy" and the staff (some even came out from the kitchen) all just stared at me. Service was terrible! The Pho soup itself was alright. The lunch rush is no joke. Even though there's a line outside they're still fast and efficient. This restaurant is in the valley and it's very close to many business parks. If you're looking for a slow leisurely dining experience you may have to look elsewhere. That's not to say they won't serve you but if there's a line of people right behind you just be mindful of other patrons. Pho Bac will serve quality pho in a timely fashion so you can get on with your day. Maybe you have to go back to work, head to IKEA, or run errands. They understand and value your time. They don't pass out menus and they don't have QR codes so look at the menu on the window and take a picture if you need to. Pho and rice dishes are pretty good. If you order egg rolls you may have to lay them on top of a couple paper towels because they're fresh and right out of the fryer. This was the first place we went to after arriving in Seattle. We were starving from a long 12 hour drive and needed food ASAP! I heard only great things about their short rib pho so that's what hubby got. I got a rice dish. My goodness...I've tried a good amount of pho places in the Bay Area and in Vegas...and I will say that this shop has the BEST pho broth we have ever tried...hands down. The broth alone is deep rich with flavor. You can tell it's made with love. And the huge short rib...YUMM! Felt like a caveman gnawing on that. My friend got the number 7, I believe that was the pho with steak and meatballs. She only got one meatball, unfortunately and I think for a large bowl, it could have been a tiny bigger, but that's okay! We had a snack after eating our meal. I had the Bun Dac Biet, and it was good! The fish sauce I wish was spicy, I love all things spicy. I would rate it a 7/10 and the pho broth i tried from my friend an 8/10!! The broth was very good in my opinion and it amazed me because often times when I go to pho restaurants, the broth does not meet my standards haha!
