I was recommended to Rose Pho by my coworkers. I LOVE Bun Bo Hue so ordered that, and was honestly pretty disappointed. The biggest issue was that all I received was beef slices in my Pho. There was no pork or other meat additions like BBH usually comes with. The noodles seemed pre-cut as they were all very short and although I warmed up to the broth it wasn't as spicy and flavorful as I've had at other spots in the area. I appreciate the owner is religious but as I am not, I was a bit uncomfortable with the prayer session happening in front of me and was also prayed over by the owner during checkout. We came down from west Seattle to try rose pho after seeing raving reviews and we were not disappointed! First of all, we took someone's advice and got the spring rolls - they were incredible! Never had spring rolls with that much flavor! We could make a whole meal out of them and order a ton. They were that good. The peanut sauce was delectable. Came here on a sunday evening and it wasn't busy. I got a pho since I was feeling something with soup but the other dishes looked pretty good. I got the N1 special pho and it basically included all of the meats that they have. I tend to be a brisket and steak person usually but all of the meats were pretty good. The broth for the pho is lighter than other places that I've been to but still good. The noodles felt smoother, lighter, and more soft than the other pho places. My boyfriend and I get Vietnamese food almost every other week and Rose Pho might be our new favorite place for Vietnamese food. We've been here twice now within the past few weeks. The servers are friendly and attentive; they are always going around refilling people's waters. The ambiance is cozy; they have scripture on the walls and TVs playing sport channels. There are about 15 tables inside and three small tables outside. We've tried their PHO, BUN BO HUE, and all four varieties of their FRESH ROLLS. Their PHO is decent, but honestly comparable to the other pho places in the area. If you're craving pho and are in the area, go for it. It's much better than Pho Thanh in Burien, where the broth is way too salty. The BUN BO HUE (spicy Vietnamese beef soup) is what you must order if you like spice. I've had Bún Bo Hue at many restaurants, and Rose Pho hits at spot on. It's for sure, the BEST Bun Bo Hue I've tried in WA. The broth is perfectly balanced between sweet and salty, and you can adjust the stars for heat (I got a 4). They also provide chili oil on the side if you ask and want that extra kick. The first time I got it, I got all lean steak, but the second time seemed to be a little fattier (perhaps it was steak and brisket?)- not sure if you can specify or if that's what they just had on hand. Lastly, the FRESH ROLLS are phenomenal. Unlike other Vietnamese restaurants, Rose Pho offers four different varieties of fresh rolls, one named for every season of the year. The SPRING ROLL is your typical fresh roll with shrimp. While the SPRING ROLL and FALL ROLL good, the SUMMER ROLL and WINTER ROLL were the best of the bunch. One has pork sausage and the other has well-marinated beef. The peanut sauce they serve on the side is a little diluted for my taste, but still pairs well with the rolls. One thing I do want to mention, is that with the current Huy Fong sriracha shortage, they are substituting Tabasco sriracha instead which has a spicier and tangier kick. We saw them refill the Huy Fongsriracha bottles with the Tabasco sriracha, and so even though some of the bottles on the tables are Huy Fong branded, they're really filled with Tabasco sriracha. Never been to this side of town, but it seems the location of Rose Pho is in a plaza so it has plenty of parking. We were greeted by two workers, both of which were extremely friendly and the place was well kept. I ordered the special pho and a honey dew bubble tea. I had no complaints about either of them. This restaurant is not a must try but the owner is very nice. It is very thematically decorated, reflecting the owner's personality. Now for food, we had summer rolls which were okay. The rolls were stuffed with noodles, fresh lettuce and a very greasy thin slice of sausage. I had a combination vermicelli bowl. The pork was cut up in tiny pieces and most were full of hard fat that I had to spit out. The two grilled shrimp were not fresh, looked and tasted like old shrimp that had been heated up multiple times before. The roll that came with it was not your traditional Vietnamese roll. The flavor was that of a Chinese egg roll. The lettuce and cucumber were fresh and the vermicelli was soft otherwise the dish was greasy, unsatisfying and lacking of quality protein. We also ordered a GRILLED lemongrass chicken rice plate. The chicken was extremely oily as if someone deep fried the pieces to warm them for service. It was definitely not grilled. Overall we left hungry, mouths full of grease but hearts were warmed because the owner was quite a lovely person. Be advised, she prays over you before you eat.
