On a mission to try all of the Bun Bo Hue's in the surrounding area. I found the broth to be not as flavorful and spicy as most. It seemed like BBH broth and regular pho broth was mixed to create a hybrid that seemed almost...thin. The meat additions were all very good and I found one of the pork additions to be delicious with a nice spice kick, almost like a salami flavor. Probably one of the best pieces of meat I've had in a BBH and the main reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 3. Stopped by The Pho for dinner, it was empty. I ordered my go-to once I read that they serve Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese Spicy Beef Noodle Soup). Taste Con: Spicier than other places. Pro: Very savory and flavorful. Portion Con: Not enough noodles. Pro: For only $3, they'll bring out an extra bowl of noodles + broth. Price Con: $17 is a bit pricier than other spots. Pro: Got a punch card at the end--buy 5, get 6th bowl free. Atmosphere Pro: The restaurant was very clean, had modern decor, and there was plenty of parking in the plaza. The bowl came with a pork leg, which I usually personally prefer they leave out and sub with other meats, but at least it was super tender--tendons were very tender as well which was great. It was also a little too spicy (I overheard a staff even commenting "it looks so bloody today" right before bringing it out). Food quality overall was excellent, and the cuts seemed very premium. As other have commented, this Pho is probably one of the best Values in the area. As commented on by others, I agree that the broth does not have the same depth of flavor or flavor as some smaller shops. However it does taste like they start fresh every morning, so another vote for quality. Some shops use a starter to ensure consistency and complexity of flavor. All considered, this is still a very tasty Pho that only the most experienced palettes will distinguish. Their Bahn Mi with grilled chicken is solidly constructed, and tastes great as well. The big ad advantage of this place is that they are really setup well for take out. Pho purists will comment that Pho is supposed to be eaten as soon as it's poured into the bowl, and that takeout diminishes the experience. Popped in for a super early meal and the pho was delicious. Flavorful, plenty of meat and noodles too. The small was a good portion, not too small and not too large. The herb plate was full of fresh mint and it was thoroughly cleaned, plenty of bean sprouts, jalapeño and lemon (though, I wish there was lime). We also ordered the appetizer plate that I felt was a little steep in price- $12 for 1 spring roll cut on half (that was just ok- not a fan of cabbage in a spring roll), 2 deep fried shrimp rolls and 2 small egg rolls. I stumbled upon The Pho after getting groceries at Trader Joe's in the nearby plaza. It seems like a new, well furnished and inviting place for late lunch so my sister and I decided to try it out. When greeted, the only host / food runner / waitress was a bit distressed probably due to the lack of staff to help at that time. However she was so sweet and went above and beyond to make sure us, as well as other patrons were taken care of during our time dining there. We wanted to try 3 dishes: crispy chicken wings, special all-cuts Pho and the Bun Bo Hue (beef noodle soup, Hue style). The crispy chicken wings were well seasoned and battered to crispy perfection accompanied with sweet tangy chili sauce. Pho had a pleasant aroma and broth was delicious. Although the restaurant does not have sriracha, they do provide chili oil, another type of sriracha-like hot sauce, soy sauce and other condiments which makes it easier for customers to adjust each dish to their liking. The Bun Bo Hue was nice. Tons of broth and noodles. We even asked for some to-go so we can finish the leftovers. Overall food was excellent. The clean modern decor made it pleasant to dine. There is a single stall unisex restroom in the back that is also clean. Plenty of day lighting and tables/booth options. Outside, there's ample parking. A great place for lunch / dinner. The Pho has a nice, modern vibe, and the food itself was decent--though I've had better pho in the city. What really stood out, though, was the lackluster service. My pho was served without the usual condiments, and after being checked on once, I was more or less forgotten. I understand the staff were younger guys, but when you're in hospitality, customer service should be part of the experience. This place was highly disappointing. We decided to give this place a try. For a pho spot and dinner time. I was surprised that when we walked in there was only 1 other table in use. The place was so cold, why would anyone want to wear a jacket at a restaurant esp a pho spot. Even the workers were wearing their puffy jacket. It was just uncomfortable how cold it was to eat food. One of things I appreciated about this place are the portion sizes. When you order a large bowl of Pho, you'll actually get a large bowl of it! They do not skimp on the meat and noodles. There are many places around Burien/SeaTac that does this, you'll pay a premium for a large bowl and the ratio of broth to meat/noodles are off; you get a generous amount broth, pieces of meat and noodles that can be slurped up in few seconds. I ordered this restaurant's large combination Pho, it had large cuts of flanks, tendon, and meatballs; a delicate seasoned broth with the right about on spices such as sugar, cardamom and cinnamon; some places go heavy on these spices but they got it right; broth appearance looks clean, no murkiness or unusual aftertaste; no fish sauce. Service was fair; a young aloof & unenthusiastic person with a poodle-like hairstyle took our order and payment. Inside is spacious, clean tables and cutlery. This review is solely based on a comparison to other Pho restaurants in the surrounding area. Combination vermicelli bowl $17 comes with pork, chicken and egg roll. Tried the Pho tai with tripe. Really great broth! Not too salty had good flavors Combination Com Tam plate $20 (doesn't have an egg like the photo on the menu though!) But quality seems good. Ample parking and the restaurant is very clean. Restrooms are also nice and clean, which is rare at a lot of pho restaurants. Staff are also friendly. The chicken in the vermicelli bowl would be better if it was grilled. But that's basically my only complaint. Oh, and the lack of egg on the rice plate despite the photo showing an egg. Aside from looking clean and nice, everything else was bad for us. There was a wait list to sign up and after we waited for 5 minutes, a server came out and asked "Who came first?". The patrons looked so confused and someone said "Er, why don't you look at the list?" 1st strike! Then when we sat down and placed an order, after punching in everything, the same guy asked us to actually repeat everything again. We happily did and asked to make sure the beansprouts are cooked. He brought a dish of raw sprouts immediately. Then we asked him to bring it back to cook it. 5 mins later the same dish reappeared miraculously in front or us. I ordered my food Togo from Ubereat and my first time experience was decent. I had higher expectations than what I got. I ordered the steak and flank pho, fried chicken rice, egg rolls, and a Thai tea. Let's start with the pho I was a little disappointed. The pho broth did not have an authentic beef smell. The steak cut was thick but I can tell you it was super tender. The chicken rice plate was good that's what my husband said but unfortunately it was not crispy at all. The egg rolls was good but it was over fried, mines was pretty brown brown. Lastly the Thai tea was the least fav, it did not have the Thai tea smell or taste. Delicious pho, BBH and shaking beef! We came for a birthday dinner and the service and food were excellent!

Ambience is the high point in this review. I actually found myself gazing around the restaurant because it's such a stark difference to your run of the mill pho spots. The service is pretty non existent but if you eat pho you're used to it. They're using reusable water bottles at your table and you fill your cup from the water bottle. I like the idea of this but then I ran out of ice and I thought they would check in on me and they never did. I ordered the combo appetizer. It comes with 1 spring roll, 2 fried egg rolls, and 2 fried shrimp egg rolls. The price was $12. I thought it offered some value. The spring roll was delicious and you can tell they used only fresh ingredients. It was one of the most fresh spring rolls I've ever had. The fried egg roll and shrimp egg roll I'm sure were created using fresh ingredients but the issue is they're overcooked. Both very chewy and left a lot of oil on the plate they were served on. Would pass on it next time because as someone who prides themselves on eating a lot, I didn't finish them. They're served with sweet chili sauce and like a honey mayo sauce I think. Now, moving to the pho. I ordered the combination pho (Large) for $17. A little pricey for my taste for Pho since the competition around here is selling their pho for 13-15.99. So they're way above on the high end. The large pho had a lot of protein and I consistently found myself going "oh, another tendon, another meatball, more beef!". Felt like it never stopped and was really filling. So I guess this makes it $17? I'm not too sure though because we eat pho for the broth and for $17 I'm coming in with an expectation that the broth is top notch and it didn't meet my expectation. It's better than pho tai but is really lacking in the depth of flavor you find from those mom and pop pho shops. So, my overall experience is 3 stars. Low level customer service, overcooked egg rolls, higher costs, and the lack of the real sriracha is the cherry on top. But those springs rolls. Those are yummy and worth the $8 for two. Still pricey, but so fresh! And, the ambience! So nice and would be a decent place to have lunch with friends if you're not too into trying to get some value in this though cost era. read more

Came here on a Sunday in the later afternoon when it wasn't so busy so we were seated right away. The aesthetic gave us very California vibes so the decor was nice and modern. Typical Vietnamese food items with the expected Pho of course, vermicelli bowls and rice dishes. We ordered a large Pho Dac Biet(Combo) and Com Dac Biet(Rice Combo). The special appetizer combo was also ordered but was forgotten. We later didn't mind this as the food itself we ordered was not to our liking and would rather not bother to ask for the appetizers. The food quality was rather lacking with minimal meat included. The meatballs had a funky taste to them and the raw steak was a bit thick rather than thinly sliced. This didn't allow the meat to cook when submerged into the broth. With the broth itself lacking in flavor other than the excessive sweetness. The rice dish was also quite disappointing, given a couple very thin pork chops strongly flavored with five spice which was interesting. For a combo dish we'd also expect to maybe have a fried egg included so the portion for price is a letdown. The service itself wasn't too bad but they were lacking in keeping condiments and even napkins stocked at the tables. Empty chili containers and I had to get napkins from another table. Even had to request for utensils to eat with our rice dish as it was brought out without any. Overall the quality of the ingredients are quite low. It would seem as though corners are cut for maximum profits and they aren't sourcing quality ingredients that would reflect the price that we pay. We did however get a surprise 30% discount so that was appreciated but I would not recommend going here as there are plenty other Vietnamese restaurants around the area with much better food. Could just be inexperience as this seems like a franchise they've opened for the Washington location of a California restaurant. read more

I used to order combo pho where ever i went before i discovered bun bo hue. now, i seek out places that sell bun bo hue as not all vietnamese restaurants make it. this night i ordered the bun bo hue and substituted with phon noodles instead of the thicker spaghetti type thats in traditional bun bo hue. i just like the thin noodles in all my meals regardless if its Italian, Vietnamese , Chinese, or Japanese. My wife orders the chicken pho amd said the broth was phenomenal. might i add that they put a ton of chicken in your bowl and is well worth it. as for my bun bo hue, the broth was nice and "shrimpy" with a little spice kick. i for one like that the broth wasn't too sweet as i prefer a more savory flavor. if there was one thing that would make this a five star meal is if they gave more Vietnamese veggies like saw tooth coriander, morning glory, mint and more basil. oh and i would have like to have had some blood cake in it too. in all though, it was a decent bowl of bun bo hue to me. read more

As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I was welcomed with open arms. The owner seemed nice and striked a conversation with us. We had a fantastic and I mean fantastic time there last Saturday late afternoon. A good friend of ours coordinated all of us meeting there with our cars for a opening reception for the restaurant. The owners and staff were incredibly kind and saved a bunch of parking spots directly out front for us. We had quite the large gathering of people and when everybody ordered the food came out extremely efficiently and quickly. Everybody ordered unique and individual dishes and I can say for sure that I was close to licking my plate off at the end. The staff are gracious and kind and nobody had a single negative thing to say about any of the foods they received.
