I ordered the steak pho, and my lady got a pork banh mi. We also had a honeydew milk smoothie. I'll start with the pho -- it was pretty bland and needed a lot of hoisin and sriracha to add some flavor. Her banh mi had very tough, chewy meat that seemed old, and the bread was hard as well. The best part was the drink, but even then we had to chew through ice chunks the whole time. It probably could've been blended a little longer. Overall, we'll likely try a different place next time. I searched out a location that would give me a good pho. The reviews said it all so I came. It was good I only wished I had more broth. It was all noodles that I didn't eat. The old man working there was acting kinda rude and odd and there were people partying in the back or whatever. I chose this place since it said they open until 12 am online. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner for the first time this past week. Upon first arrival, Pho Liu looks like your standard pho restaurant. However, once we entered through the doors, we saw that the restaurant was actually connected to a crowded bar in the back. The restaurant in the front though was relatively quiet with just a few diners. We were instantly greeted by the guy reviewers call Jimmy and sat at a table of our choice. Pho Liu has all types of pho including your standard steak, meatball, tripe, and flank pho as well as seafood and vegetarian pho options. They also have some rice and teriyaki dishes, bún (Vietnamese noodle bowls), and powdered bubble tea drinks. We ordered a large 32 (steak) ($12.99) and large 39 (steak and meatball) pho ($12.99). Like other pho places, the difference in price between a small and large bowl is $1, so customers are incentivized to buy the larger bowl. We received our orders within 7-10 minutes. The pho broth was flavorful and had good beef flavor to it. The noodles were also not overly cooked and portions were generous. They have hoisin sauce and chili oil at the table, but no sriracha which I thought was unusual. Compared to Pho Vien a few streets down, I personally think Pho Liu was much tastier. A pho place that doesn't close till 11p and the other half off the restaurant is a bar that doesn't close till later. All the staff are really nice and the owner Jimmy is always welcoming. For the pho, the broth was okay. I ordered the flank and rare steak. The broth was quite pale and was lacking a lot of flavor. It's okay though, hoisin and sriracha to save the day! Very generous with the amount of meat they put. Price is average but their pho broth was not worth it. Their spring rolls are pretty tasty. They were tiny for the $6. Bar wise- every time I visit, the bartender is so nice! She will take care of you, and makes the tastiest drinks. They have 2 golf games, karaoke on Saturday nights, skee ball and I think dart games too. They close at 2a and it's always a good time. Stop by this location and noticed that it looked like a dive bar style establishment. I was craving for some pho and I never been here before as I love to eat pho. The customer service level is casual, the food weight was anywhere between 10-12 minutes. This location also has a bar side adjacent to the dining area. Started off with a dish of spring rolls that comes with the peanut sauce. Spring came with shrimp and vermicelli, as well as vegetables inside. Very casual. Tasted the pho broth, I would prefer a bit sweeter. But it was OK. I ended up, ordering some to go food, beef, short, ribs, as well as the chicken bánh mì. overall I give it a three star because the environment could use a bit cleaning and sanitizing as well as a little more attention to the broth. read more

This place is killing it with the karaoke on Saturday nights! We dropped by and ordered to-go and we were surprised at the price difference based on the photos of the menu (just added some updated images with current prices). That said, the prices were still reasonable for the portion and quality. We got 3 pho types: steak, chicken, and seafood. The pho broth here good, but it was disappointing is that they don't have separate broths for the three types of proteins. There was a generous amount of bean sprouts and basil, as well as sriracha and hoisin. We also ordered the eggrolls, which were crispy and delicious. It truly tasted homemade, like our family makes, which was familiar and nostalgic... we highly recommend it. Lastly, we ordered some of the shakes, which are less like bubble tea, and more like shaved, flavored ice... the ice wasn't blended finely, so the shakes were a little more chunky than we're used to. Best pho I've had. The restaurant looks a bit sketchy when you first walk in, but don't let that deter you from trying it. I believe the second half of the restaurant is a bar. I ordered the kids teriyaki chicken, spring rolls, veggie and chicken pho. Everything was delicious. Service was quick, they took us in regardless of how late we came in. Tl;dr: cook can't differentiate between cuts of meat... Place doubles as a bar and also serves teriyaki, but since it's "Pho Liu" decided to get a bowl of pho. Nothing fancy either, just a small pho gau. For those of you who don't know, gau is fatty flank. Unfortunately what came out was pho chin - brisket (-1 star) . Decided to give them another chance and they brought out nam - flank (-2 star). If you don't have the cut of meat a customer wants, just say so - would have ordered something else. Fairly disappointed. Price is a little high for the amount of food you get. The vegetable plate was alright though. Lots of basil provided and both basil and sprouts were crisp/fresh. Okay so I'm pretty mixed about this place... but went here awhile back and haven't been back ever since. If i remembered correctly, my first experience.. this place smelt funky with urine when I first walked in. Not really clean like you expect a pho shop but the food was good and cheap. I thought it was odd that it was a pho restaurant & bar combined but hey it might work for some people.. Anyway, went back recently and the dining area is never really packed but the back bar is. This time it didn't smell like urine but I took more notice into the location itself. Old carpets, dirty walls, not the best tables/booth and just an overall not-inviting type setting for dinner. It did smell a little musty.. from all the patrons coming in and out of the bar. (They must have just got off of work and needed a drink..lol). I would suggest having more ventilation in there because I seriously was losing my appetite. (Open a window!) Also seems like alot of locals since everyone knew each other. The lady & the man who greeted me were nice and my chicken teriyaki & gyoza definitey hit the spot.. but just the ambience and everything about it is just meh. To make things worse, I smelt like the pho/restaurant after I left.. ugh, shower time! My wife and I moved to the area a year ago. Been wanting to hit this spot. Finally ate there for lunch. Place has a bar in the back with a divey feel which we found intriguing (and plan to partake in soon). Service was pleasant. My wife was a lil bummed that the beef broth was for all proteins including tofu. Broth was ok. A good amount meat in my brisket and tendon. Place was good. I was at Pho Liu for a dart tournament - weird place for a dart tournament, right?! Turns out they have a lounge/bar area in the back. Still threw me off though, the atmosphere definitely wasn't like that of a regular bar. The staff here is super friendly. Jimmy, who I think is the owner, treats everyone like family! The food is pretty good. The noodles weren't my favorite - they kind of had that plasticy taste that some pho noodles get... Ya know? The broth was super good, but I've had better (sorry guys). The food came quick though and it was HOT! If you get oNE thing here, you have to make sure you get the Banana Gorilla. It's an alcoholic shake and super dangerous. It just tastes like a super delicious banana milkshake, and you'd never guess how potent it is. I was in desperate need for some late night pho to cure my extreme level of ails. Unfortunately almost every place I searched for was closed...except here, which is apparently open SUPER late. Well, what do you know...I just happened to find my 4th-ever 5-star pho place. It's kinda hard for me to determine exactly what gets a pho spot to 5 stars. At minimum, the broth has to be very flavorful (check), the noodles are solid (check), and they pour on the meat (check!). Their large bowl is fairly inexpensive and REALLY large. By the time I was done with everything, I felt like I was about to give birth to a food baby. And love the quick service, as to be expected by any competent pho place. This place will always be the best for a pho run. The owners are nice, the staff is quick to help you, and the broth will make your soul warm! They still have some of the best prices for a large bowl too. I'd say the only thing I feel needs to be said is staff could come and check if you need water. Usually after you get your food they don't come back to check on you unless you ask. They also have a bar in the back, always live with noise. Went there last night with a couple of friends. I ordered the meatball pho, my boyfriend ordered the meatball/brisket pho and chicken wings, our friends ordered the french dip, chicken teriyaki, and the gyoza. I tried there pho last week and it was delish, 4.5 stars there. The chicken wings were okay (they are breaded), the gyoza was fantastic (and you get a lot of them too!), and according to our friends the french dip was great (the au jus was extremely well done, he LOVED it) and the teriyaki was good as well. So, overall, def a good place to eat (one day I will remember to take photos). The atmosphere isnt what youd expect cause its pretty much a hole in the wall bar, with football on, dart boards, a pool table, and a bar. They didn't have a large beer selection, which was a bit disappointing, and the prices seemed a bit high for this type of place. The service was standard, not bad but not exceptional either. So if I had to break it down, it would be like this: Food: 4.5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 So overall, a 3.5 - would eat there and go there again! read more

I know I did 4 stars for their pho, but actually there's a downside about how they have a "pub" area and quite loud during dinner time. But I just love their banh mi and pho THAT much that I gotta give a honest 4! (And I guess the environment don't even matters no more in this case) We came in around 8pm and was very hungry that we ordered a pork banh mi and each one a pho bowl. I was pretty amazed how the pho soup base is really fresh yet flavorful. You don't get that alot. And get it in a place in Burien which is SO AWESOME! The banh mi can be better in my opinion, but overall they def got the pickled carrots and cucumber right so I can't say it's bad. I just hope it's a bit bigger and more filling inside. Overall a YES! Go for a meal but please don't mind the space. It's a bit weird and the people in the pub sometimes are too loud that it's kinda annoying to chat.
