My family and I were in the White Center area for Khmer New Years and we were still hungry after going to the Wat so we stopped by Apsara Palace. We got the Phnom Penh Kuy Tiew, Seafood Lort Cha, and Beef Skewers along with Sugar Cane Juice and Mango Smoothie. My Seafood Lort Cha was delicious. It was a bit oily but having it with the fish sauce combated it. The pin noodles were so much fun and bouncy to eat. The sugar cane juice was also refreshing and it was just freshly squeezed in front of us. My sister enjoyed her Phnom Penh Kuy Tiew, it had a rich pork broth similar to eating babaw. The Mango Smoothie probably wasn't as fresh though. I didn't taste it but my mom thought it wasn't. Lastly, the beef skewers. They were not as good and seemed a bit old tasting? The meat was a bit tough and the texture seemed off. I was satisfied with my dish though and might come back if I'm ever in the White Center area again to try their Nom Banh Chok Buffet. read more

Aspara Palace is a Khmer (Cambodian) and Asian restaurant in White Center. They have a homey vibe with one well-decorated wall. I suspect they are a family business with mom as the cook, plus a son and a daughter as servers, which was the case on a quiet Sunday. The son as the server was bubbly and amicable as I asked questions about popular and favorite dishes. The food is excellent and flavorful, with plenty of leftover foods. Parking is readily available along the streets. The Food and Drinks: Beef Loklak Rice Plate, $20 - 5 Stars This is a hardy dish with flavorful pieces of beef, a fried egg, fresh greens, rice, and a bowl of soup. This dish by itself is a substantial meal. With the sides dishes we ordered, half of this went home. Lort Cha or Fried Pin Noodles with prawns, $20 - 4.5 Stars Available protein is seafood or beef. I requested prawns only, which they accommodated. Served with a side of fish sauce in a squeeze bottle, the server said to apply all over the dish. He also said this is his favorite dish. The food has very good wok hei like a Hong Kong noodle dish. I had plenty of noodles left to make a second dinner after adding veggies and protein. Beef Skewers, $18 - 4.5 Stars Five good size skewers with a dallop of pickled veggies. The seasonings are very distinctive. Oddly, the flavor reminds me of some Chinese style beef jerky. In any case, these are smoky, savory, and yummy. Papaya Salad, $16 - 4.5 Stars They use all the real, authentic ingredients here, including bits of tiny baby crabs. Be careful if you have sensitive gums. Sugar Cane Juice, $7 - 3.5 Stars I would think sugar can juice are all quite similar, but they are not. I didn't like theirs as much for some reason. It was a bit murkier. I probably won't order this in the future. Coconut Coffee, $7 - 5 Stars Our server recommended this. Coconut and coffee sound weird together, but this drink is a winner. Very unique, a touch of sweet, potent like a Viet coffee, and very distinctive. Thumbs up. They are probably closer to 4.5 Stars. Rounding up to support a family business. read more

Phnom Penh Noodle Soup - 5/5 Dish was piping hot and broth was super flavorful! Tender meat and good amount of vegetables. Coconut coffee - 5/5 Similar to Vietnamese coffee, but with a hint of coconut. Bold and strong coffee. The sea salt foam was sooo good because I could taste the salt! One recommendation would be to add more of it. This is best seller for a reason. Chinese Donuts - 5/5 Hot, doughy in the inside, and crispy on the outside. Would definitely come back! Good service. Me and a buddy stopped by for lunch today at a Cambodian restaurant and ordered the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup. This is known as "Hu Tieu Nam Vang" in Vietnamese. It's a Cambodian restaurant that I've been wanting to try for awhile. The broth was actually very flavorful. I was surprise how good it was. It had hints of garlic and just enough depth without being overpowering which I liked. They didn't skimp on the toppings either I got just enough to fee satisfied. The bread (also known as Chinese donuts) was crispy, it was on point the breading was great! They have this one condiment crushed chili sauce. It's not spicy, but it's pretty good.! The noodles in the soup had good texture, it dint feel mushy at all, which I appreciated. Service was fast, from the time we were seated to the time the food came out. If you're craving authentic Cambodian-style, with a hint of Vietnamese and blend of Chinese, I'd recommend come to check it out! The menu has a lot of options beyond just noodle soup, so I'll have to come back to try out some of the other dishes. read more

Came in around 1pm on a Friday. There was only 1 other table dining in. I was greeted immediately by a friendly face. They served this fragrant jasmine tea imported directly from Cambodia. I've never tasted anything like this before, it had a fruit undertone. I found out they're under new ownership but kept some of the old menu dishes. I was very excited to see they still had the fried lort noodles! I had to order that to-go for later! I decided to try something new while I was there so, I went with the Mi katang fried wide noodles with seafood. The dish came out within 10 minutes. It did not disappoint! It was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly; noodles were separately piece-by-piece & not super greasy nor mushy. The lort noodles were exactly the same as I remembered from the prior ownership, tasty! Overall food and experience: 5 stars! Definitely coming back soon to try their other dishes on the menu. It was my first time here and I was craving for some Phnom Penh Noodles soup. I wasn't disappointed. The price tag seems hefty but it's a large serving with lots of protein including liver and intestines, yum! Well worth it. I also had the beef sticks and the flavor was well balanced (not too sweet, salty or bland etc ) and most importantly it was juicy. I wanted the sugarcane drink but it was sold out. The coconut coffee is their most popular drink so I got that and I liked it. I would come back to try other dishes. This is a newly re-opened small mom & pop business. I read and also heard that the owner makes all the food herself. The front operations are ran by younger members of the family. They're very nice and hardworking so please have some patience. The coconut flavor is subtle, more like a creamy touch, while the coffee itself is bold and strong. Not too sweet, just the right balance. I came here one time and it was closed so I was excited to find out the restaurant reopened because I heard good things about it. I tried their chicken curry noodles because I had a craving for it. The soup is really good but I wish the chicken had more meat and less bones. They give you a lot of noodles too which is great! I also got a Thai iced tea and it was on point! My boyfriend got the kathiew and it was okay, not the best, and it took long to come out. My boyfriend is Cambodian and he wishes there were more traditional dishes on the menu. Took my parents out for break at New Apsara Palace and they loved it. The store is clean and neat. Give the warm vibe. Nom banchok Khmer was 10 out of 10. So was the beef sticks. It was so good ,I forgot to take a picture. There was a lot of meat in the phnom penh noodle soup. The coconut coffee was good. Except too much ice. Rather have the cup smaller with same portions. The store owner was friendly and efficient. First time ever that a Khmer owner would come out and asked the customers for improvements. That was a plus. Keep up the good work. We had 2 Phnom penh noodles ( dry version) with a side order of s chinese donut... Oh man .. the food were SOOOO Good, the servers were very nice and polite, we love everything about this place... the only thing should be improved is the air ventilation..they probably don't have a very good range hood in the kitchen.. your whole body, clothes, hair smell very Strong of cooking odor. This place was a home run for a cozy dinner. The staff were all super nice and the food was brought to our table promptly. Definitely would recommend going with a group so you can try one of everything on the menu. We got 5 different dishes and they were all my favorite! Both broths we had were packed with flavor and so delicious. The beef skewers were juicy and the crispy garlic shrimp were to die for. Last but far from least--the beef noodle dish we got. I will be thinking about these noodles for weeks. And will probably have to come back soon because I know I'll be craving them. If you're thinking of stopping here, do not hesitate. Overall this place is really good, and the workers are very nice. The noodle soup and congee were both very good. The meat skewers were great. And their hot sauce is awesome. My only ding is that it's too expensive for White Center, $17 for the noodle soup and congee is a bit steep - especially for the location. But it's very good Cambodian food. read more

Service was horrible!!!! If I could give this place zero stars that's what I would rate it. We didn't have plates, spoons, forks, and napkins. I had to go to the counter and ask for it. We ordered our food and it took an hour before it came. The Nom Bachok lacked salt which they did not have so I had to go to the counter and ask for it. The Phnom Penh noodle which we thought would be served first was the last dish that we got. We kept waiting for it and when we did get it, it was sweet and had intestines and heart and other unknown meats which normally is not included in a Phnom Penh noodle. We also ordered the beef sour soup which they have as a pre-order only in the menu and it cost us $50!!!!!! Not only was it over priced, it did not taste good!!! The poor quality of beef used and the saltiness of the soup was not appetizing. We sat and ate the other foods with no one coming to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. Our glasses of tea that they served when you come in were empty and I had to ask again for refills. The server did not come to take away empty plates so I was taking them to another table to free up some space on our table. Nothing great about this place at all and I would not recommend it to anyone!!!! Don't waste your money like we did....our bill was $207 for crappy service and crappy food. read more
