They serve the best pho I have ever had! We did not have to wait long for our food. The staff was friendly.

Today was another day to explore a new pho place for us. We ended up with the two entrees. The bbq broken rice plate and the pho combination. Let's start with the broken rice plate. The pork chop was chewy, and hard to swallow due to how chewy it was. The worst part was the fish sauce. That is the grand flavor that makes the dish more delicious. Unfortunately the fish sauce was not properly made, it was water down and salty, it tasted pretty bad. Let's move on the the pho combo. It was nothing special, it was nothing great. After being the bowl of pho, I felt incredibly bloated and tired, which makes me think that it was soaked in MSG. They do have self-serving tea, jasmine and ginger. While it was self serve and complementary, it was pretty awful. It smelt and tasted like wet cardboard box We felt pretty disappointed leaving this establishment. The food quality was not it. This really hit the spot after doing a sunrise hike at Rainier. We were hungry and cold and wanted something comforting, and this was one of the few spots open at the time we wanted to go. Very classic pho spot, meaning service is a little questionable but it's what I expected. I got the pho dac biet, which came with a huge variety of meat and a ton of noodles. I loved the broth here - slightly sweet which is the kind I prefer. They also have both tea and water for you to serve yourself. Their chili oil was also good and they sell it by the jar too! Location was odd, I felt like we were coming into a warehouse space and then Bam! a restaurant. Came with a party of five, plenty of spaces to sit at. I suspect they might be low-staffed? because many tables were left uncleared for the duration of our meal. The place was tasty! I liked the egg rolls and my house pho, and there was enough food for me in the small size that I didn't end up finishing all the noodles :| (though I did make an effort to drink all the broth, yum). Minor thing where someone in our party didn't get their drink and had to remind them that she'd ordered it, but they were pretty quick about getting it after that. I think she also had a comment about the shrimp in her shrimp bowl. I'd be happy to come here again; would probably get the same thing as I had personally no issues with any of it. :D read more

There are many things I love about this place. It's reminiscent of the Vietnamese restaurants from childhood, it's very clean and gives a bit of a homey-vibe. Everything is affordable which is rare to find anywhere, while being TASTY! The service is fast and they check on you to make sure everything is all good. The hours might be a little tricky (10a-4p M-Sat), but my assumption is their location is more in a business area. I'm grateful to have a local, quality Vietnamese restaurant. Banh Mi Thit Nuong (BBQ pork) - barely any fillings but the thit nuong was pretty flavorful, other than a little bit on the chewy side. Banh Mi Thit Nguoi (Traditional) - also barely any fillings, worst than the Thit Nuong one, and not good. Probably the most disappointing Banh Mi I have ever eaten. Went out with my girlfriend ordered two PHO one small and one large and spring rolls. The springs rolls were good The pho was good as well only problem was the portions in meat and noodles ALOT of noodles not a lot of meat even with the large I got it there still wasn't a lot, my girlfriend said her small maybe had like 4-5 pieces of meat. Not the place to go if you want an upscale atmosphere. Everything was very good. Possibly the best Banh Mi sandwich I've ever had. Bread was super fresh baked. Only one suggestion: Don't make the Pho broth so sweet! A tad less sweet and it would be one of the best broths I'd ever had. But many people's palates, especially us Americans has been so desensitized to salt and sugar which is why a lot of the food in restaurants, especially casual and fast food has a lot of salt and sugar (sugary burger buns, syrupy teriyaki sauce.) Tried this place on a random whim to continue my journey to find the best Vietnamese chicken curry. I must continue my search sadly. Closest they had was #17 chicken curry with noodles. The flavor was very good, not a lot of sauce though, and the noodles seemed overcooked, but it's possible that's how they're supposed to come. I'm not a big noodle person, I stick to rice dishes, but this one was the closest curry dish they had. Overall my experience was pleasant. The self serve water and tea is nice. The man at the front was very nice. A few of the negative reviews for this restaurant are concerning from a food-handling Safety perspective. I may return to try the pho sometime. I hate to do this but after a couple recent visits, I feel compelled to update my review. I agree with recent reviewers who said the quality has gone drastically down since the previous owner left. The pho tastes different and they removed items from their menu for reasons I don't fully understand (no grilled sugar chicken anymore?). I recently ordered a chicken dish and it was so bland, I was shocked. Bottom line: Portion sizes and quality have gone down, prices gone up -- I really hate to do this but I will probably be trying other places from now on. read more

I've heard about this place from my MIL's bestie. She's a great cook, and knows her food so I trust her judgment. I've been wanting to try this place out and probably driven by it countless of times from my Costco run. It's easily missed as you won't notice it since it's in an industrial area. There is a small sign pointing you to the establishment. This place is truly a hidden gem. It was my sister's day and the choice was between this and Vietnam House. After my last encounter with Vietnam House, I rather take my chance. Not going to lie, I wasn't expecting much for service when I come here but what's the odds? I didn't have much to lose. Upon entering the establishment, there's this kind older gentlemen who will tell you to pick a spot. He told us that there's an opening in the corner as it was kind of chilly outside--away from the door. And proceed to tell us to help ourselves with the hot tea or water in the beverage area. Not very common as other establishment as they will get it for you. But I actually prefer this so you can get what you want. The options for tea is Jasmine or ginger tea, and it comes piping hot. Just how I like it. They will come take your order and within minutes a bowl of piping good pho arrive. It was so flavorful and good. The portion was nice! And they didn't skimp on the proteins either! The broth was outstanding. It's a little bit on the sweeter side than other places. Veggies were fresh and they weren't skimpy on it either. We also asked for some sate chili oil to add some spice to the pho cuz why not? The customer service here is outstanding! The gentleman made his way over to the other table and had some friendly conversations with some guests. This place truly display real customer service that Vietnam House should come take notes. I called in for the Pho and Sandwich Combo (13.25) and an Iced Viet Coffee. I got there and they were scrambling around looking for my order so it was a bit chaotic. The worst part and this is why the 2 star rating was the packaging. My mini pho was packed in a tall foam container with a soda lid on it. The kind you put the straw through. So guess what? Soup was spilling out of the top on the way home. Luckily it was contained in the bag. The noodles were NOT packed separately like every other pho place I've been to and I also was not given side veggies. The noodles were stuck in a clump at the bottom and I cracked the container trying to get them out which made a huge mess. This was one of my worst pho experiences. I think they might only pack the soup this way for the mini one. I did see other orders separated with a bag of side veggies so my advice is do not get the combo to go. The sandwich was not memorable. I was wondering if I was eating pork and then I got a random bite of ginger which is odd in a bahn mi. Viet Coffee was watery. I will not be coming back. read more

Once I walked in, it's like an old Saigon restaurant that's been there for awhile. Pretty fully seated. Besides faces like Vietnamese there were non-Vietnamese customers. Perhaps they had traveled to or even worked in Vietnam before. A warm welcome by a lady with menu. I ordered a bowl of pho even I also like the sandwich. The food seems authentic and tastes good. Since this restaurant is located in a very industrial area with lots of businesses and companies nearby, lots of locals and familiar customers frequent this stop. The staff were friendly and made sure we were aware of where everything was as we were getting seated and viewing the menu. What a great find. Old Saigon Pho is a hidden gem and did not disappoint. This restaurant is hidden amongst a sea of industrial buildings in Tukwila. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and very popular with the lunch crowd. Given my limited time between meetings, I decided to order to go. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi, grilled pork vermicelli bowl, and ice coffee. Service was fast and wait time was about 10 minutes. The vermicelli bowl was delicious. It was served with a generous portion of grilled pork, veggies, and pickled carrots. The pork was tender and flavorful. The banh mi had a nice portion of grilled pork and veggies. The ice coffee was the perfect sweet ending to my quick lunch. Definitely recommend this place. I look forward to returning and trying out their pho. read more

It's unfortunate nobody took our order and left us waiting for 20 minutes, only for the server to then immediately take the order of a full Vietnamese-speaking group that had just walked in. We were ignored after asking 2 different servers to order. I can only conclude we were passed up because we were not Vietnamese. I even walked up to the front to directly ask the guy to order and he just looked past me like I was invisible LOL how surreal. The tables were very dirty, puddles of broth and crumbs on almost all of them - we had to clean it ourselves with a wet napkin. Ended up walking out of the restaurant and finding a better, cleaner, & more worthy place to patronize. Wouldn't recommend anyone come here if they respect themselves. read more

Old Saigon is my favorite Pho spot! I've been here many times alone, with friends and with family. I've also recommended to friends and family who have visited and were impressed as well. David (owner) really takes his time in preparing the Pho. Starting early morning to put the ingredients together and skimming the fat, you can really taste the difference! One of the things that really stuck with me, was on my first visit, I walk in, you can see everyone enjoying their meals, David (owner) greeted me by gesturing to an open table and saying, "Make yourself at home". Wow; this broth is everything you're looking for in pho. It's soo rich and you can taste the spices in it! I was shocked and definitely surprised by how good the food was! I never tasted pho this flavorful before. I expected to have to add hoisin and chilli oil but I was completely wrong. It's seasoned perfectly for cold weathers and sick kids. I also got egg rolls that were so crispy and look at the size of it! My picky kids love the food here and I can barely get them to eat on a good day. Let me just say this girl doesn't eat any veggies and she's eating a veggie egg roll. The grilled chicken with shrimp was cooked to perfection as well; charred slightly. I forgot to take photos before eating because we were too hungry!! Lol.. Love the owner; an older grandpa. I never met a owner who tries to comfort a baby whose losing their patient while being hungry! Super sweet and will definitely recommend this restaurant. The restaurant is pretty easy to find but location is rough. The inside has a large amount of seating. It's quiet and not as populated as other restaurants. I've been coming here with my boyfriend, as he has been a long time loyal customer since David has owned this restaurant. Since the ownership change, the quality of the food has drastically gone down, as well as the serving size. Ambiance: It is tucked in an industrial building, right next door to Costco. Nothing has changed much about it since the new ownership. You get your own jasmine or ginger tea, as well as hot or cold water. Enough room for a large party but nothing more than that. There is the famous chili oil on the table now, so you do not need to request it. You seat yourself, order and getting to chowing down. Nothing crazy here but it is a nice spot with ample parking. Food: This is where I have to critique pretty hard. Since the new ownership, prices have increases to about $2-3 more. No biggie, but when you decrease the amount of meat that is served, that is when I have a issue. I have had the pho at Pho Tai nearby, and their prices are $13.99 instead of $15.50 for a large, AND they give you A TON of sliced meats. It is well worth the price over at Pho Tai, but not here. The broth was known for the sweet and savory notes, and it was very addictive to have. However, the new change has drastically declined the quality of the broth, noodles and meat. Today's broth was extremely diluted and was not up to the standard it once was. It was lacking the meaty flavor that is very known for pho. I was really unsatisfied after leaving today. Service: If I could give negative stars, I would. Old Saigon still has their punch cards where if you purchased 6 bowls of pho, you would get a bowl for free. We used a filled card for two large bowls of pho. The man that rung us up added $2.50 on the bill as a "custom item". My boyfriend noticed this and questioned where the extra was coming from, and the man stated that it was because we ordered a regular bowl at $15.50 but a large is extra charge. My boyfriend was rightfully confused and annoyed, and we pointed out the menu saying that a large is definitely $15.50. When we did this, the man removed the charge from the receipt and the total after tax came to $17.08. Even though it is only a few dollars, every penny counts. As a local business that is supported by the neighborhood and the regulars that come through their doors, this is so morally wrong and has me questioning how many people they did the same thing to, racking up extra money on the side. I noticed that when they ring up the bowls, it is all in Vietnamese, and many people would not understand what "lon" means, which means "large". The man that rung us up probably thought we would not take notice of this and probably would have agreed to paying since we could not read the bill. I used to really like this place, but the new owner has really rubbed me the wrong way. She is not holding the restaurant to the same standard that David has. You can tell she has really cut corners in every possible way after acquiring this restaurant. I am all for supporting local businesses, but this is really unacceptable. I encourage you to spend your hard earned money for lunch somewhere else. read more

My new Go-To Pho spot in the south Seattle area! Owners are so nice and welcoming to EVERYBODY! (So many people in & out means something good ) Felt like I walked into my uncle & auntie's shop with how welcoming they were at first sight and honestly most Vietnamese spots aren't that open with you lol so that was a great interaction. They will tell you go ahead and sit anywhere and one thing I really appreciate that 99.9% of restaurant places don't do is self serve beverage stations! They have iced water, ginger tea, jasmine tea & one that said just ginger. I think that's awesome because when the cold seasons come and someone needs some ginger tea to clear up they're sinuses it's a double whammy with pho! I tried the jasmine tea, it was nice and piping hot! While I'm weird and love my rice dishes more over pho because I grew up having pho so often I didn't get a chance to try it here. Shockingly the prices here are great! And again I was surprised and pleased at the same time. I ordered #20 which is the boneless barbecue pork chop and it was amazing. The Vietnamese coffee tasted like something you'd get out of a can like a UCC or Mr. Brown with a very water down taste. The beef pho broth was very sweet and noodles were a bit firm for my taste.
