We were both craving a banh mi, and while my steak banh mi was fine, my partner ordered a pork one and ended up with terrible food poisoning. I hate writing reviews like this -- but this is a health concern and I wanted to let people and the business know. This food was the only difference in our diets 72 hours prior to him getting sick, and after having to take him to the doctor for dehydration they did confirm it was mostly like due to meat. I ordered the Chow Mein at the "Fiery Hot" spice level, but didn't find it spicy at all. The texture of the noodles were good, and it was flavorful. I just kind of wish it came with more seafood. It came with one squid ball, one scallop, two fish balls, and three shrimps. Yes, it was little enough where I can easily count. I do think they could raise their game on their oxtail pho. The amount of oxtail and its quality is pretty darn low. This place just became my new favorite Vietnamese curry spot it was delicious and dangerously too close to where I work. As others have mentioned, service is so so. Nice, but no ice in the water and no refills and I eat spicy some some ice water would have been nice. Though to be fair it was very busy when I was there at 6 on Thursday. I did a takeout from this place on a rainy Sunday morning. I was really craving some a bowl of pho. Ordered a large veggie pho and a tofu banh mi. The food was really packed well. The soup was separate- the veggies and toppings were separate which made it really easy to assemble and get that nice texture of veggies and tofu. The flavor of the soup was okay. My family had dinner at the PhoEver restaurant on Dec 14, 2024. I ordered a sea food noodle soup. The listed price was $15.95 for a large size. The noodle arrived with only 3 pieces of fish balls and some noodle in the bowl. That was drastically different from what's mentioned in the menu. When I paid the bill, all noodle soup orders were charged an extra $1.00 for the large size. That's also a surprise as well. The extra $1.00 charge was not mentioned on the menu. I was in area and needed a place I could have lunch, listen in on a conference call; Pho Ever was the closest restaurant. I was promptly seated, and water was provided, within 5 minutes someone came to take the order. I was happy with the menu and could have easily ordered several options. I went with the Vegetable Lo Mein, and it was really good. The customer service overall wasn't stellar, but considering how busy I and my DSM weren't focused on how much the staff engaged with us. I I called Pho Ever and spoke to Mack who refused to send the fourth item, even though the delivery receipt clearly showed that they did not send it, telling me to drive to the shop and pick it up. I explained that I am disabled. and do not drive, so I wanted him to deliver it to me with no added charges since I already paid for it. He refused. (I called GrubHub and they reimbursed me.) Once I got there I got seated right away, but server wasn't really understanding my questions so it was very hard to order the food. Food was brought to me within a good period of time. I wouldn't advice to order Thai tea (I don't have a picture), it was a crappy powder mix. I did hear that Vietnamese Coffee is very good there (but super strong). As of to-go I asked if they can help me pour the soup into the to-go container in the kitchen so I don't get it all over me, they said they don't do that, which was upsetting. Rainy days and cold weather can really get the cravings for something warm and filling - and a good big warm of pho usually hits the spot! We decided to swing by Pho Ever to satisfy that craving! We went on a Saturday around dinnertime at 7pm and were seated promptly. This location seems to be a pretty popular spot to get pho as the parking lot got full pretty quickly - this could have been due to the smaller parking lot or popularity but just a heads up to anyone wanted to drive by to check out Pho Ever! I got the #24 on the menu, which was the bowl of pho that included Brisket, Flank steak, and Tendon. For a large bowl of pho, I wished that there was more brisket, noodles, and steak - it seemed to me personally that the bowl was mostly lacking in these main departments in comparison to other pho restaurants that I have been to. Like there was like 4 or 5 slices of meat overall and a small handful of noodles, whereas other restaurants would have likely double the amount of meat + noodles. But the upside is that there was a good amount of tendon to makeup for the lack of other ingredients in the bowl. As for the meats themselves - they had good texture and were really tender, the tendon was soft and slightly chewy, which is the exact texture I look for when eating tendon. The both was decent, had good beefy flavor - but personally it needed just a bit of salt. In the end, the bowl was still delicious and does hit the spot on a cold rainy day. Overall, spent about $12 for this large bowl of pho - which was a standard price for large bowls of pho nowadays. Entering the establishment- it's a chill ambiant, you must sanitize and wait to be seated. It seems to be pretty busy during lunch hours so if you feel hungry, beat the lunch rush hour. We got our order taken but weren't given our food for quiet some time. I had asked if I could add extra chicken for my meal but the server said no. There doesn't seem to be accomodations at this restaurant, but i'm sure if there were an additional charge for extra meat- it wouldn't be an issue. They're pretty busy so getting any customer service (water refills, utensils,etc.) is a bit tricky. I noticed a few reviews mentioned rude staff and I didn't want to take that into consideration but wasn't convinced once encountering with them. Servers never come by to ask if you need anything, even though there are so many working at once, and it takes them forever just to take your order. They are all very cold as well. Meh. The food is good, however. They have something called egg noodle soup, which I had never seen at any other Vietnamese restaurant I'd been to, so I went for it. It. Is. Delicious. Super flavorful broth, almost like wonton soup and it has green onion and white onion in it. Then you can choose your protein. I've gotten it both times with prawns, which is yummy. It of course has a big mound of egg noodles as well. Slurp slurp. Hubby likes their pho, enough to get it more than once, but he said it isn't his favorite. Their fresh rolls were really good but the sauce wasn't peanut sauce, which is my favorite. And they don't give you enough of it for all the rolls so pro tip, ask for extra up front. This Pho restaurant is the best on the east side for a few reasons. Just like Pho it's really simple but complex, for one the taste is great authentic and flavorful. They have a variety of other staple Vietnamese dishes to choose from if you're not in the mood for noodle soup. The price and portion size is perfect especially in these tough times where everything from breathing air is inflated so that has a HUGE impact on why you should get here and eat deliciousness.
