Vietnamese soup is a personal favorite. This is the best I have come across. Husband liked his beef pho. We will definitely be coming back.

This was on a Friday night at almost 6pm and my friend and I came in to a nearly empty interior that filled up throughout our stay. Is it just dinnertime that time or were my friend and I bringing in the crowds? You'll enjoy a very clean and well-kept restaurant with clean tables and chairs, with lighting that's very little but lights up the whole place well. Menu has a lot of offerings (both regular and vegetarian) but since it's dinnertime I decided on a rice dish as usual. I got their beef short ribs rice dish, which has their usual marinated short ribs with a fried egg and veggies. I actually liked how they offered their rice in a separate bowl, and everything else on one plate... which means the meat almost covered my whole plate! By the way, my friend got their grilled pork chop rice dish, and the meat also almost completely covered his plate. Both our meats were marinated so well and held in so much flavor, and came off their bones easily. We both agreed the grilled beef short rib dish I ordered was the winner because of the bolder and more defined marinated taste of the meat. I've tried so many Vietnamese restaurants and almost exclusively get their beef short ribs rice on the first visits of them, but this is the first time I've seen meat portions this huge for a rice dish. I'm thinking of coming back here for another visit even if I have to deal with the tight parking plaza this place is close to.

Square Lotus offers an extensive choice of dishes. This visit we ordered the tropical fresh rolls and the pork on skewers, along with banh xeo The banh xeo was really nice and crispy. The only 2 drawbacks. for me was ... instead of pork belly, they use chicken, i think white meat cause the meat is very dry. The second is they don't offer a lot of fresh herbs with this dish. Just some cilantro and one small branch of Thai basil Next time i order this i will definitely ask for pork belly instead of chicken in my banh xeo. Definitely recommend you trying this restaurant. BTW, the offer an extensive amount of vegetarian dishes

The staff were friendly and polite - and they graciously accommodated my peanut allergy, and quickly accommodated small requests like for bowls or extra napkins. We ordered four items: the missus got the bun bo hue, and I got the special beef pho. We shared the pancake and the spring roll. The noodle dishes were decent, but the standout was the Vietnamese pancake. Definitely order this if you're on the fence! The restaurant got a lot busier after we got our food - at least two or three parties who arrived (two each) had to wait between 5-10 min for a table to clear. The staff are super efficient at clearing tables so you won't need to wait long, but the downside of this place is that their popularity easily exceeds their capacity - so be patient! I don't have any notes for ambiance. Parking is available in the same plaza, but there isn't much - a lot are reserved for specific businesses between specific hours, so be careful not to park in an open business if you intend to eat here!

Fast forward a year later to a Sunday at 12:30pm and I finally made the long drive here without going through Aurora Ave since my GPS randomly decided to give my road rage some grace. This place has plenty parking around the perimeter, so it was easy settling in. Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. Regardless, it was tasty and the meat was juicy. The pork pate added a nice savory touch to the sandwich, and no other condiment was in excess that it took away taste from the flavorful grilled pork. Staff was very kind throughout, and refilled my water every now and then. It was also nice chatting with one of them about our day and other recommendations from the menu. There's so much to have on their menu so I need to make the drive here again to have more of their stuff!

I'm not familiar enough with Bun Bo Hue to comment on it, but I liked it, although I preferred the bun. Vegetables were fresh, and there was attention to detail in all of the dishes. We really liked the dessert as well, which was unique and earned the ultimate Asian compliment--not too sweet!

The sweet flavors are so delicious and nostalgic, whereas the savory flavors are so delicious and makes a perfect morning snack. The smoked salmon reminds me of a lox bagel but in a sandwich form. The one that I like the most was the pork cutlets, even if it was cold it was good. The savory options were not too sweet which I liked. Not a huge fan on the salmon tho. The only issue I had was definitely the portion, it was small. It seems big in the photo and display but the one you get it small. When u open the sandwich the filling and bread ratio is kinda small, which was disappointing because it's kinda pricey. A nice place to try a lot of flavors, definitely recommend.

This was on a Friday at 6pm and we came to a very empty parking lot until you try parking closer to the many businesses located along the Bella Bottega Shopping Center where this gem is located. Inside is very casual with a ton of tables that can seat various group sizes, and my friend and I got a seat closest to the register. Menu has typical items for a Vietnamese restaurant like pho, banh mi sandwiches, bun, rice dishes and vegetarian options. There was actually a lot of stuff so I was slightly overwhelmed. I got their large phở tái bò viên, which is pho with medium rare beef and meatballs. Note that there is only a $1 difference before tax between the medium- and large-size pho, and I saw the medium bowls being much smaller than the large one I got, so it's worth getting the larger one! Broth is warm, aromatic and comforting with the right amount of everything, and the meats inside gave it more depth. The noodles kept together easily in my bowl and did not break apart easily when picking them up with my chopsticks. I also asked for extra beef, which is $4 more; this was put inside my pho instead of being served raw on a separate plate like i've seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. My friend got their Yummy Noodles house special bun with chicken, and he loved it a lot! It was served in the same bowl size as the large pho I got, hence he couldn't finish what was in front of him entirely. Back in California, I went on a mission to find the most authentic, best pho, so my expectations are usually super high. This time, though, I just wanted to satisfy my craving for a hot bowl of rice noodle soup, not go full-on food critic, lol. The ambiance was nothing fancy but it was spacious. The Bathroom was fairly clean. Tables were a bit crowded with sauces and condiments; the sauce bottles were all open and the spoons and sauce plates weren't super clean... that's okay, I guess some germs make me stronger. The brisket was super tender and meaty--I enjoyed it. The noodles were a bit overcooked, though, and there wasn't enough cilantro or onions for my taste. My kiddo ordered fried wings, which were just... okay. Spring rolls? Meh, sorry. But the pho itself was satisfying enough to curb my craving, so overall, everything was okay. The server was attentive and friendly. I forgot to grab a banh mi to go.

While the food was okay, the staff were friendly, plentiful and helpful.
