Was advised a 20min wait on a Tuesday night around 7pm as 9th in line and was seated right after 20ish minutes. Interior is on point and super elegant. The resturant is 2 stories but sectioned off as if there are little rooms around which cuts down on noise and makes it feel less busy which is a plus. The food and soups were pretty good, above what you'd expect from a normal ayce spot. Selection is decent, has a good amount of meats and vegetables but not as vast as the other ayce spots. We only ordered 1 plate of the wagyu which I forgot the name of but it was in the $30 range and was fantastic. Service was very attentive, checking up very often to remove plates, refill water, refill soup, and to give us ice cream at the end. Typically, the service adequately matches the price and atmosphere, but we hadn't been back in a while due to a couple disappointing experiences. But tonight's service was so exceptional, it restored our trust enough to want to return! Sammy was attentive, thoughtful, and kind to us. She checked in often on our noodle and soup refills, cleared plates so fast, filled our water glasses before we could finish them, and proactively noticed when we hadn't received our extra order of meat. I came originally for a reservation at 8:45 pm, but my boyfriend and I wanted to do happy hour so we can have more choices since it was closer to closing. We ended up waiting a few for minutes for this deal. We got a variety of meat, seafood, and vegetables. They were all of good quality, I especially liked the seafood. One thing I would note is the lack of noodles. Personally I like have noodles with my hotpot and Dolar Shop only had one type of noodle. During happy hour they have a set menu which comes with your selection of certain cuts of meat, along with vegetables and either rice/noodles. Yes, I am very late to the upscale hot pot party at The Dolar Shop. This popular spot is located at The Bravern and has been open since 10/18/18. I've had this bookmarked foreverrrrr, but finally had the opportunity to indulge for a leisurely lunch with family earlier today (6/6/26). Thankfully, the other three in our party had hot pot experience. I've only had shabu-shabu and malatang, once each time, today was my first hot pot culinary introduction. A family member had made reservations awhile back and this is strongly recommended as the check-in/reception area was packed by 1115 am. We were brought downstairs to our booth. Chilled lemon water was provided as each of us pondered our choices for our customized hot pots. After placing our orders via tablet, there were some snack items to peruse like chips, peanuts, edamame, and fresh fruit. Dipping sauces were prepped by our kind waitperson. There are also additional ones at the sauce bar to select from to further customize with your meal. I really liked the cucumber and Napa cabbage kimchee/kimchi as my accompaniment. Shortly thereafter our broths (tomato, spicy, creamy pork) were brought out, hot plates turned on. Platters of assorted vegies and greens, mushrooms, shrimp, quail eggs, lotus root, Spam slices, and tofu sheets, as well as, bowls of noodles and steamed rice were placed on our table. Nicely plated selected sliced meats were then brought out. We had selected wagyu beef, two sets of boneless beef short ribs, and lamb flap. As a newbie, I was overcooking my proteins, but eventually got the hang of it. This was my first meal of the day, so the portions brought out were generous and filling. The broths and water glasses were periodically refilled and waitstaff checking on us too. Likewise, one could have additional servings of noodles and rice. At the end, we were each provided with soft serve cones to cool and cleanse our palates. There is a time limit in order to turn the table over to be cleared for the next reservation. Also, make sure if parked in the underground lot, to bring your ticket along and have it validated at the check-in/reception stand. I'm glad I did this since our meal here and coffee/dessert at an adjacent site at The Bravern was four hours and saved myself from paying $18 - $21! They forgot our enoki mushrooms but one quick wave down fixed it without hassle, so appreciate that. They don't explain the happy hour that well, but during happy hour they have set menus that include sauce bar and unlimited rice or noodles. I did come here once with my wife, just the two of us, for dinner on a Friday night (no reservation). Highly recommend joining the waitlist well before you come here - the line was 36 line when I joined, and 42 long when I arrived. We did get seated after around 25 min, so it moves fast. I joined the waitlist via Yelp before we left (it was a 20 min drive), and the line did move before we got to the proverbial front, but it would have been very deflating if I joined the line "when I got here", so I'm glad Yelp is an option to join the line via the app, beforehand. For two people we ordered a decent clip of food, it came out to $200 after tax and "surcharge" (if you pay by debit or cash the 3% surcharge is removed). Some dishes are outrageously expensive (one of the beef platters was $37 on its own!), but at least there's some options for "multi person sets" (2, etc). There's a weird track like "untz untz untz" (dance club vibe?) - no lyrics, but it's very faint (not too loud). If you're sitting near the front, it's a bit cold if you're in the pathway towards the door. Service is sometimes slow and spotty - mostly because they have staff assigned to certain areas, and as those areas get saturated, some tables get inevitably neglected. For instance: despite the massive 40+ waitlist (you'd figure the priority is clearing tables and turning them over), it took us over 15 min to get and pay for the bill. I've been here more times than I can count. The soup bases and singnature sauces are a big reason I keep coming back. Service used to be good, but my last few visits haven't been quite the same. The female servers have been super friendly and attentive, frequently checking on us and refilling soup and water. When I finally waved him over, he gave no acknowledgment and simply walked over with a blank expression. Seating area is large with hot tea and iced fruit water. There's some candy and table games. I recommend getting on the Yelp waitlist on weekends. If you call them, they can add you too. I think the ingredients they use are good quality and tasty. You order items on a table/iPad. The broths are $9.99, even for split pot. I wish they had an option for split regular bone broth + spicy. The service is good too. This isn't an all you can eat hot pot, so you pay for each plate you order. Come here for your birthday! They give a pretty happy birthday sign and let you spin the wheel to win something. There is a charge per person to use the self-serve sauce bar. There's also a variety of desserts and fruits, which is my favorite section. Two things I would note: 1. Fancy hotpot experience in Seattle. Very reminiscent of the quality, service, and ambiance of getting hotpot in China. Food on a a-la-carte basis, and you can pick and choose the broth of your choice. There's a great assortment of foods to pick from, and also food you can have while you wait for things to cook. Would go back for special occasions. === Food === I got one of the set options that comes with meat, veggies and noodles. I ordered the pork broth (non creamy). Not that many options that looked great for those who are lactose intolerant or vegetarian, but they did have those options. The set ran about $60ish a person for dinner, not including the dessert bar. Unlimited noodle or rice refills depending on what you get. === Service === Very friendly and informative wait staff - if it's your first time there they give you a tour of the restaurant (it's two floors!) and explain everything on the menu, how to order, and answer any and all questions. The Dolar Shop is a fancier hot pot spot. They inside reminds me more of a living room than the inside of a restaurant. There is a sauce bar that has some other snacks like edamame or gummy bears. In addition, there is a bar where you can assemble a jelly dessert. At the end of the meal you can also get a soft serve. I would definitely make a reservation ahead of time if you could. They also have a parking garage that you can get your parking validated in the front. I would definitely come back again for the happy hour special, otherwise this is a spendier option. Staff: Nice (5/5) Sanitation status: Really clean (5/5) Short Plate (4/5) The set came with one plate of meat and one plate of veggies and other additions. The short plate was pretty good but there were some inconsistencies in the amount of fat you could get. I would be wary of that. Overall it was still really good, you get your choice of soup. Fancy hotpot option in the city! I've tried many other hotpot places before-- I think Dolar Shop's soup quality is definitely good, though the whole thing is a bit overpriced IMO. The selection and quality of ingredients is just like any other hotpot shop. Our meal turned out to be around $100 for two people. It didn't blow me out of the water but the ambiance of the place was nice. :) read more

It was good. The meat was okay, nothing really impressed me. The broth was decent, but for the creamy broth something, there was some kind of weird stuff like pig's organs that made me feel sick, it was so smelly and stinky. I liked the dessert bar tho, the jelly was good. But the price is kinda insane. read more

One of the nicest hotpot places I've been to. Amazing fast, and friendly service (I dropped a chopstick on the ground and someone handed me a new one within 10s, not even asking for it).
