    Lamb set menu
    Jinny C.

High prices but service that matches. Our servers explained the menu, made sauces for us at the table, and were attentive and friendly. The place is big and good for both casual and special occasion meals. Parking at the Bravern is validated. I got the lamb set menu, which with the happy hour prices, was reasonable. The portion size was filling too. The meat was fresh, and the veggie platter had good variety. The creamy broth and spicy broth I chose were tasty. The sauce and side bar was a bit lacking compared to other places but I don't really utilize these anyways. The part that's unique is that they have a jelly bar, but I was too full to try it

It's been 5 years since I've been to the Dolar Shop and I won't wait that long again! Great service, high quality meat and veg paired with a personalized hot pot experience. What's not to like? They have great sets available during lunch where you can pick the type of meat (different types of beef, chicken, pork) and the type of soup base (pork, mushroom, spicy, etc.) The set also includes a nice platter of veggies + shrimp balls, imitation crab meat and spam. And don't forget the sauce bar, with random things like wonton chips, cantaloupe and M&Ms as well. They've also added a boba and jelly bar, likely to compete with the Hey Tea outlet next door. Service is attentive and efficient, offering to refill broth 3-4 times during dinner. And of course, remembering to offer ice cream at the end of our meal. I can't wait to bring my family back now that my kids are older.

One of the best hotpot experiences I've been to. Service was top notch and food was so tasty and wish they would have a location in CA. I was happened to be in the area and got to try this place and it did not disappoint. I was there during happy hour and got the set menu plus a side of shrimp balls. Everything tasted fresh and perfect. Definitely recommend!

Parking is part of the bravern - there's a machine at the front to validate for 6 hours. You shouldn't need 6 hours, but yeah. It's at the front, near the entrance. Sauce bar is dope, but they've cut back on snacks / desserts. The ordering is done on a tablet (I've only ever been here with a big group - like 10-14 people usually with a reservation). I did come here once with my wife, just the two of us, for dinner on a Friday night (no reservation). Highly recommend joining the waitlist well before you come here - the line was 36 line when I joined, and 42 long when I arrived. We did get seated after around 25 min, so it moves fast. I joined the waitlist via Yelp before we left (it was a 20 min drive), and the line did move before we got to the proverbial front, but it would have been very deflating if I joined the line "when I got here", so I'm glad Yelp is an option to join the line via the app, beforehand. For two people we ordered a decent clip of food, it came out to $200 after tax and "surcharge" (if you pay by debit or cash the 3% surcharge is removed). Some dishes are outrageously expensive (one of the beef platters was $37 on its own!), but at least there's some options for "multi person sets" (2, etc). There's a weird track like "untz untz untz" (dance club vibe?) - no lyrics, but it's very faint (not too loud). If you're sitting near the front, it's a bit cold if you're in the pathway towards the door. Service is sometimes slow and spotty - mostly because they have staff assigned to certain areas, and as those areas get saturated, some tables get inevitably neglected. For instance: despite the massive 40+ waitlist (you'd figure the priority is clearing tables and turning them over), it took us over 15 min to get and pay for the bill. Overall it's decent quality but it's quite expensive nowadays, and the portions have gotten noticeably smaller than when we used to come here previously.

upscaled hotpot so can feel a bit pricey but i think the quality of soup and meats are worth it, especially if you come for lunch specials. ample options of side dishes at the sauce bar staff was nice and timely with adding more soup. ambiance was really nice since this is more an upscaled spot, really different experience that feels nicer than regular ayce hotpot spots

Dining here genuinely felt like stepping into a modern CBD restaurant in China. From the moment you walk in, the setting--floor-to-ceiling windows, sleek interiors, and that urban city vibe--creates an atmosphere that's both upscale and lively. It doesn't feel like a typical hotpot spot in the U.S.; it feels transported. The food quality is excellent. The meat selection is beautifully presented with rich marbling, and the seafood is fresh (the live shrimp on ice was a highlight). Everything tastes clean, premium, and thoughtfully prepared. The dipping sauces and broth options also bring that authentic flavor profile you'd expect from a high-end hotpot experience in China. What really stood out was the service. Attentive without being intrusive, the staff made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. From helping with orders to checking in at the right moments, it felt polished and well-managed. Overall, the dining experience is memorable and elevated--perfect for a special outing or when you're craving that "back in China" feeling. The only downside is the price. For what are essentially regular hotpot dishes, it easily comes out to $100+ per person for two, which makes it more of an occasional indulgence rather than a casual go-to. Still, if you're looking for atmosphere, quality, and service that truly stand out, this place delivers.

I had a bit of a mixed experience at The Dolar Shop. First off, the service and staff were excellent. They were incredibly attentive, professional, and made the entire dining experience smooth and welcoming. If I were rating based on hospitality alone, it would be a 5-star review without question. Regarding the food, it was good, but honestly, it felt like any other high-end hot pot spot. While the ingredients were fresh, I didn't find a "wow" factor that sets it apart from other competitors in the same price range. It's solid, reliable hot pot, but not necessarily groundbreaking.

Food: 4.5/5 The quality of the meats, seafood, and veggies are all amazing. They have a wide selection for you to DIY sauce bar and a small dessert bar! Soups are wonderful, I especially like the creamy pork one. It's delicious and smooth. The ice cream cones at the end is a highlight! Only nit picky thing I'll note is that they don't have a large selection of veggies or seafood compared to other hotpot restaurants. Service: 5/5 Great service, server was very polite, nice, and made sure our soups were refilled in a timely manner. Ambiance: 5/5 They have seating on the ground level and downstairs. The ground level has windows, lots of artwork and lights, and has an open concept style. The downstairs seating area is walled off, separating dining spaces from each other (they have private large seating rooms too!). Overall: 5/5 Just a tip, I don't know if they always had this but I noticed they add a surcharge for credit card payments, if that bothers you bring cash or use a debit card :)

I went here for the first time on a Sunday evening and it was delicious! It is definitely on the pricier side, and reservations are recommended as it was quite busy. Each person gets to choose their own broth base (there's an option to get two!) which I thought unique and that way everyone can get what they want. The protein and veggies are served family style, and you cook everything in your individual broth. This is a great place to go with a group of people and if you don't mind spending a little bit of money. It has a great atmosphere and was a nice environment to catch up with friends, plus the service was very good. Come with an empty stomach!

The Dolar Shop Hot Pot has genuinely good food. The meat quality is excellent, no question, and the broth was flavorful and well done. The service was also attentive and polished. That said, over $600 for hot pot is honestly insane. At that price point, the experience does not justify the cost. Happy Lamb Hot Pot is just as good food-wise and dramatically cheaper. Yes, the service here is better, but it is not $600 good. Also, what is going on with the furniture? Everything is absurdly low. My knees were touching the table, and everyone in our party hated the seating. It felt cheap and tacky, which is especially jarring given how "luxury" the restaurant is trying to be. Overall, tasty broth, great meat, and good service, but wildly overpriced and uncomfortable. I would only come back if prices were cut significantly.

My favorite hot pot spot in Seattle!! High quality meats and variety of options for veggies, protein, soup bases, and noodles. My go to soup base is the half and half Creamy Bone Broth and Spicy Broth. I love how they let you split the pot with two soup bases for the price of one. So worth it and allows you to try various flavors. There is a sauce bar and some sweet and savory snacks available for self serve as well. My favorite meats to order here are the beef tongue, beef belly, and pork belly. The marbling of the meats is extraordinary! The potato noodles are my favorite carb to get here. Complimentary vanilla soft service ice cream for dessert over a waffle cone. They also offer parking validation for the underground structure which is so convenient! Very modern interior design and comfortable seating! Clean environment and huge establishment as it has 2 floors. Minor cons: I do have to say food is on the pricier side, but it's worth it every once in a while. It's also not the most suitable for larger parties as they only have big tables available in their private rooms, which requires a minimum spending of $600. If you do plan to come with a large party, I'd recommend calling ahead of time and asking if you can be split amongst multiple tables nearby to avoid the private room charge.

Split pot: creamy broth + spicy $9.99

I came from out of state just to dine here! This location is in The Shops at the Bravern. It's a lot of fancy shops here. The Dolar Shop is close to LeTAO. Seating area is large with hot tea and iced fruit water. There's some candy and table games. I recommend getting on the Yelp waitlist on weekends. If you call them, they can add you too. I think the ingredients they use are good quality and tasty. You order items on a table/iPad. The broths are $9.99, even for split pot. I wish they had an option for split regular bone broth + spicy. The service is good too. This isn't an all you can eat hot pot, so you pay for each plate you order. Come here for your birthday! They give a pretty happy birthday sign and let you spin the wheel to win something. There is a charge per person to use the self-serve sauce bar. There's also a variety of desserts and fruits, which is my favorite section. Two things I would note: 1. I left my jacket in the coat rack at the front of the restaurant, but it didn't help with the smell. The clothes I was wearing from head to toe smelled badly afterwards. My jacket smelled equally as bad. 2. Check your receipt before you hand over payment. They add 3% if you use credit card to pay. There are signs on each table btw. The receipt also says that if you insist on using credit card and want to remove it, you can fill out a survey by scanning the QR code on the receipt. Bathroom is in the way back of the restaurant. Credit card/apple pay accepted No WiFi

Fancy hotpot option in the city! I've tried many other hotpot places before-- I think Dolar Shop's soup quality is definitely good, though the whole thing is a bit overpriced IMO. The selection and quality of ingredients is just like any other hotpot shop. Our meal turned out to be around $100 for two people. It didn't blow me out of the water but the ambiance of the place was nice. :)

I've come for both lunch and dinner, usually shortly after they open, and never had to wait. Just looking at the crowd, you can tell this is an authentic place. As someone who travels to China frequently, this restaurant definitely meets my expectations. The Hunan-style spicy dishes really satisfy my craving for bold heat and flavor. I've tried the stone pot spicy tofu with meatballs, 梅菜扣肉 (braised pork with preserved vegetables), spicy lamb, stone pot black pepper beef, stinky tofu, and the fried oyster mushrooms. I loved all of them. These are the kind of dishes where you can easily finish a big bowl of rice--and still want more even when your belly is already full. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Service was prompt, and one small detail really stood out to me: during my first visit, they actually replenished the napkins mid-meal. With spicy food and the inevitable runny nose, that level of thoughtfulness is appreciated!

The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

We ordered Garlice Pea Vines with garlic, Tea-smoked Duck, Hot and Sour shredded potatoes, Grilled Pepper with Century Egg, Boiled Spicy Beef, Hunan-style Soy Fried Rice, and Clay pot Bamboo shoot Pork Trotters and Chicken soup. About half the items were a-ok, the other half were fine and I would order it again (Garlic Pea Vines, Boiled Spicy Beef, and Hunan-style Soy Fried Rice). But the dish of the night was the Clay pot Bamboo shoot Pork Trotters and Chicken soup!!! That was sooo flavorful! Service was ok, we did come during the busy dinner rush hour, and they were really busy for a weeknight. Regardless, I want that Clay pot Bamboo shoot Pork Trotters and Chicken soup - it would be so comforting when it's cold!

That changed significantly in the next hour as there was a line out the door. Parking is at a premium and you may have to walk a little bit to get to the restaurant. Ordered the shrimp, fried rice and sweet and sour pork. I always have used fried rice as a good gauge of authenticity. The shrimp fried rice did not disappoint. Huge servings of shrimp and it was cooked without soy sauce being added so you could add it to taste. The sweet-and-sour pork was a generous portion, and I had a side of rice with it. It was flavorful and sweet and the pork was not overcooked. Great job. Also got an order of honey walnut shrimp. Generous sized prawns were used and they were delicious. I would recommend this for someone looking for an authentic Chinese experience

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!

Noodle Nine delivers a genuinely authentic dining experience that feels like stepping into a slice…read moreof everyday Asia rather than a polished, commercialized version of it. From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.
