My friends and I went here and the service was quick and easy. The selection of food was decent, I just wish there was more variety like the other stores that have popped up. This store, however, serves fruits and has ice cream provided to you by the staff. In addition, they share the spot with a drink spot that you can order from as well. The spot is pretty so expect to wait for a big table. Thankfully there's a parking lot that's spacious.

It's a great set up. There are coolers filled with the most desirable ingredients from proteins like sliced beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, fried eggs and boiled quail eggs; plant ingredients like lettuce, Napa cabbage, spinach, watercress, bok choy, bamboo shoots, sliced lotus, bean sprouts, etc. There was also all manner of tofu skins, fried tofu, tofu cakes, as well as fish cakes, noodles that arranged from white flat noodles to clear vermicelli noodles and ramen noodles. After filling a large bowl with our desired ingredients we took them to the register to be weighed. At that time we could pick whether we wanted a vegan broth or one of the other beef, chicken, pork, etc based soups. We were served really fresh and delicious oranges alongside the soups that were being stewed. We were also able to get soft ice ice cream at the end of our meal. Appreciated the condiment area that allowed us to have access to fresh garlic, sesame oil, chili oils, cilantro, green onion chopped, peanut sauce, etc. The ingredient bowl is priced at $16 a pound. And the average bowl seems to generate about a pound and a half to 2 pounds. The amount of stew soup that comes out can easily feed one or two guests with an average appetite and at least three guests if you are not that hungry.

If you're looking for a casual meal for folks with varying tastes and dietary needs, this is your spot. A popular Chinese franchise; this is an easily accessible taste of modern Chinese fast food without leaving Lake Hills. If you have never been to a no-frills malatang shop, you go in, grab a bowl and tongs (by the entrance), help yourself to whatever ingredients you want from the cold case, and head to the counter to choose your soup bases, spice level, and pay. They charge by weight and will weigh your bowl in front of you. Next, take your receipt and order number, and grab a seat. The kitchen staff will call out your number when the order is ready, and you go pick it up yourself at the service window. While waiting, you should take a trip to the complimentary condiments bar to concoct your own custom sauce creation! You can also pick up utensils and napkins there. The staff also gave us complimentary sliced oranges and soft serve ice cream cones after our meal. I tried the curry soup as well as the spicy beef bone soup, and enjoyed both - the flavors were satisfying and the umami was rich. I'm curious about the stirfry option next time!

I came on a Saturday night and it was busy. We stood in line for ~30 minutes before being seated. As we gathered our ingredients, there was a large variety of vegetables, seafood, and hotpot items. My partner and I tried the beef bone broth and the chicken broth. I personally really enjoyed the beef bone broth as it was more savory and flavorful. The chicken broth was more bland in comparison. The staff is super friendly and cleans the tables immediately to minimize wait times. It is a good place for a casual dinner, just have to be careful with how much you put in your bowl as they charge by the pound.

Came here after the little reorganization that went on, and it was nice! Usually I go for the regular beef broth but I've found it to be a little too salty the past few times so I went for the chicken. First time having it, and it won't be my last. I really liked the mild flavor and it was good with all the toppings. It was nice having all the items laid out and not having to squish up in those vertical sliding door fridges. Seating is always rough, tables are too tight and close together making it hard to get in/out of your seat to get things. Other than that, solid place with good malatang. And also, the ice cream is limit 1 per bowl.

Yummy soft served ice cream comes with your bowl.

I was excited to try this new "hot" spot (ha ha) as I've been to traditional hotpot restaurants before but not this buffet style. The location for this particular spot is in the Lake Hills part of Bellevue which I'd never been to before. I noticed they have other locations in the Puget Sound area also. When we went, it was super crowded. A kind person informed us of the process that you fill your bowls immediately, then pay, then get seated, then pick up your cooked bowl. There's an instruction sign up front for those who notice it (we hadn't). The buffet options are right up front and they have every kind of seafood, meats, noodles and veggies that you imagine. I loved the large variety offered as I got to try so many things I hadn't seen before. The mushrooms, for example, were super intriguing to me. I tried all of them! I also loved the sauce bar which allowed me to make my own sauce combinations with many options. It's pretty easy to go overboard on filling up your bowl as these items all look so good. My bowl ended up being like 2.5 pounds on the scale. It was cooked in a reasonable amount of time and I ended up taking home like half of my dish for later. The soft serve ice cream at the end is a nice finish to the hot and sometimes spicy meal. Our only negative experience here was the cold temperature inside as both sets of doors were constantly being opened and when closed, they still let in a freezing draft. Maybe they can add a windbreak outside of better insulate the doors or add a heater? This place was also very crowded everywhere and we almost turned around and left after seeing the big crowd standing and the overflowing tables of customers. However, we endured the wait and are better for the experience. Love trying something new!

This has been my go to place for hot pot. We decided to go during dinner time and man it was busy. It took about 30 minutes from when we arrived to grab our food. There was a lot of people so it was definitely loud and bustling. We tried the chicken broth and the beef broth and both was very satisfying. It looks like they increased the price to $15.99 now instead of $14.99 which makes sense. They are offering melon and ice cream as well. And omg the ice cream was sooooo good. At first I thought it was just typical vanilla ice cream, but it was fresh milk ice cream which was less sweet but still creamy. And that cone was probably one of the best cone I had in a really long time. It was flaky but light. Overall, still continue to be my go to spot for hot pot

Overall a good option if your craving hot soup, but don't want to go through the work of cooking your food hot pot style. Don't go overboard though because your meal may be over $30 if your bowl is too heavy! Tons of noodle, veggies, seafood & meat options, but my main downfall is that the broth options are a bit salty, heavy for me and I feel like it made me super thirsty afterwards. I have a feeling the broth has MSG, because I had a pretty bad headache after our lunch. Pretty crammed inside, but we were able to find a table for our group of 5 adults and 2 small kids. Free watermelon at the beginning of the meal, sauce bar is self serve. The soft serve ice cream at the end is a perfect way to end your meal, super creamy and sweet. Service is great, staff is very friendly and helpful.

This one is located in Lake Hill village. Parking: free shared retail parking and also garage. Restroom: men and women restrooms Restaurant: clean and spacious. The people are nice. Steps: 1. Go get your empty bowl and tong as you entered the door 2. Pick all the stuff you want into your bowl 3. Go to cashier, weight $15.99 per lb regardless what items you got. 4. Pick your soup base - i got beef broth, nice flavour, has a little kick of spice. 5. Pay, and they will take your bowl to cook your stuff. 6. Get your receipt, wait to be call with your number written on your receipt, Pick up at pick up station near the condiments and sauce station. While waiting for your number, get your sauces and water from designated stations. Self seat. Ps: they restaurant is super cold, I think they keep it cold to keep the veggies and meat area cold. Once you got your seat, they gave you 2 slices of orange per person. They even offer you hot water if you'd like. Thats sweet. I saw more and more people start filling up the dining area right around noon. Oh wow. Got my food. The beef broth flavour is pretty nice. At the end, you can go to the ice cream station and ask for the ice cream cone. Yum. Overall, I kinda like it Will definitely come back

Great YGF location! Came on a Saturday for Valentine's day so it was busy but we got seated pretty quickly and happened to beat the line. I got the tom yum soup base and thought it was good but my partner got the beef bone broth - tried some and would definitely recommend and get it next time. Had a great variety of meats, veggies, noodles, seafood, etc. to pick from and add to your bowl. It's a really kid friendly place with cute bowls like the Hello Kitty one I used for my sauces. They also include free orange slices and an ice cream for dessert at the end. We also got free stickers. Thank you YGF! :)

My only comparison for Malatang is Zhangliang Malatang in the Bay Area, so I'm sure my review would be different if I had YGF first and then tried another place. You go in, grab your bowl and fill it as much as you'd like with ingredients (pay by weight). They seem to have a basic variety of seafood, and meats. The beef is very fatty. Veggie variety is also OK, but they're missing spinach! (Or maybe I missed it?) i really loved their potato starch noodles i think they have more noodle choices than ZM, which says a lot because even ZM has a lot of options! Decent variety of soup base flavors. I got the classic extra spicy (to which the worker was concerned for me, and rightfully so! But I wanted something super spicy and stomach-pain inducing, and I got just that!) You pay, then stand in another line waiting to be seated. They call your number at the service window next to the sauce bar, and go pick up your own food. It's basically self-service for water, utensils, napkins, etc. too. They have ice cream and give out melons, which ZM doesn't. -- A few things that make it 4/5 stars: - the food set up is actually a bit annoying... you have to slide the door over to grab what you want. Shorter people/shorter armed people might struggle with getting ingredients in the back or on top shelves. If someone else is getting something on one side, you have to wait until they're done to slide the doors over to their side and grab your things. It's like the same issue as the Lazy Susan at a Chinese restaurant. But patience is a virtue for sure! Just gotta be aware of those around you. I can appreciate their desire for keeping the food refrigerated and separated with the doors, though. - cramped space when it's busy! Actually, I went around 4:30 pm on Saturday, and it was still poppin! Waited to grab food, waited to pay, waited in another line to get seated. Turnaround time is decently fast though. - workers cut in front of you and move you aside (even when you're grabbing your ingredients) to refill. I appreciate quick restock, but I mean... I was reaching for something when I got cut in front of me ... multiple times... - feels slightly fast food-y with the whole order number, pick up counter, self service (not really a con, but consider this when tipping). -- This spot also shares a space with a boba shop, so I saw people getting dessert while waiting for their food and eating it together! Overall, I would definitely come again. Parking was easy (big plaza parking lot), food was as great as I expected it to be!

YGF offers a variety of options so that you can create your perfect bowl! This time I tried the tom yum soup base, and it was good. Unfortunately, the sauce bar was not my favorite compared to others. They offer a free plate of watermelon at the beginning of the meal as well as an ice cream cone afterwards. The ice cream was super rich and the cone tasted super crispy too. Will be back to try the other soups!

this place is so tight because many tables, but it makes sense because the line was so long for this place. about a 30-minute wait and we were near closing time. Not sure if the orange is a suiting and welcoming color for this place, but I appreciate the menus being outside on the windows for customers in line to generate an idea of what they want once they near the front of the line. staff was very sweet and I am impressed by their ability to stay collected, despite the many customers coming from different directions. thank you for the smiling faces when politely telling us that the restaurant was closing and getting me a take-out box as staff was preparing to leave home. I am not the biggest fan of hot pot. I also had hot pot during the night before, but I was in awe of how yummy the broth...the meat...the everything was! a self-select hot pot spot is something that I have not yet tried. this restaurant cooked everything so well, especially because I was doubting if the ingredients that I chose for my bowl would go well together. this restaurant proved me wrong at my first impression when waiting in line and finally walking into the area.

First thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that the prices are very LA, but before you let that deter you, hear me out: the portion sizes are significantly larger than what you'd get for the same price back home. So in terms of value, you're actually getting a much better deal out here in Redmond. One thing that genuinely caught me off guard; they let me bring my puppy. If you're from LA or the 626, you already know that's basically unheard of. Redmond, Washington is on a whole different level when it comes to being pet friendly, and I loved every second of it. As for the food, it was great overall. The mala wasn't too numbing, which I appreciated, it had just enough kick without overwhelming everything else. The garlic a-choy was perfect, honestly no notes. The braised pork belly was good but I wished it was a touch softer, and I personally felt like my dishes could've used a little more salt or soy sauce, but that's an easy fix and purely personal preference. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

A lot of dim sum restaurants automatically serve tea and add it to the bill without asking, so I like the transparency here. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. My favorites are the shrimp shumai and sticky rice, but I've enjoyed everything I've tried. ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.

This restaurant is mostly self service; there are two kiosks right in front for ordering and a table full of prefilled drink cups. I think the only upside to this restaurant is the free cups of mango tea, which are slightly sweetened and fruity. I wouldn't say they are very mango forward though. Hot Oil Biang Noodles ($13.99) - The biang biang noodles here aren't very good. They seem to be stretched somewhat, but then I feel like they take shortcuts. Instead of being almost completely stretched via bouncing the noodles on the table, they only stretch it probably half as much as normal, then they cut the dough lengthwise several times - this is why I can see multiple clear corner pieces in the noodle instead of it being relatively straight. They also don't care to make it consistent in thickness. This causes major issues because the thinner parts are soft and mushy while the thicker corners are doughy and slightly undercooked. I don't know how, but the noodles also clump together, so in some bites, I'm eating three strands of mushy noodles right on top of each other. The sauce here isn't much better. It's supposed to be aromatic, blistering hot oil mixed with chili/vinegar and aromatics poured directly on the noodles. The problems here are multifold. Firstly, they don't drain the noodles properly, resulting in an excessive amount of water diluting the sauce. Secondly, they use far too much vinegar, making the sauce overly acidic. The vinegar is by far the dominant flavor in the dish. While the dish seems like it will be spicy due to the red color oil, it's almost completely diluted out by the vinegar and noodle cooking water. The dish is basically not spicy at all due to these factors. (2/5) Spicy Cumin Lamb Biang Noodle Soup ($14.99) - This dish suffers from the same noodle issues as above, but the soup format improves some aspects slightly, but worsens other aspects. Since the soup is hot and the noodles are soaked in the broth, they soften more readily, so the soft portions are even more mushy than the "dry" noodle. The thicker portions are nice and bouncy though. The soup itself is relatively flavorful, slightly gamey, and tastes like it actually is a lamb bone broth, but it doesn't really have depth of flavor. Again, it's not really spicy at all. The lamb on top seems like thinly sliced hot pot lamb, pan fried until very dry. If not for the fact that the lamb is sliced thin, it would be extremely tough. It does have a nice fragrant cumin flavor though. (2/5) Those were the two worst bowls of noodles I've had in a long time. I wasn't particularly impressed with the noodles at the U District location of Xi'an Noodles either, but they were far better than these two steaming piles of excrement. Bathrooms - Two unisex room shared with Snowy Village. One was locked though
