I haven't been to Boiling Point in years, and the last time I went to one was in San Mateo in the Bay Area!! I still love this spot. I do think the value is just better for lunch because there's plenty of food and it comes with a sweet tea drink, which nicely balances the fatty, salty flavors of hot pot. (The wintermelon was sweeter than the green tea, fyi.) I gotta come back again to try some of the sets I haven't had before! I was here for my birthday and my friends brought me a cake. The staff was really friendly and provided forks and plates for the cake, and also lit the candles for us! BOILING POINT @ BELLEVUE WAY Parking is available in their own private lot, however the spot is located in a plaza, so it's shared between other restaurants and places as well. It does get pretty crowded, but you'll still be able to find a spot. My friend and I came here around 5:30 PM and the place itself is very small. There's probably about 10 tables total, so it's definitely a tight space, but luckily a table opened up right as we walked in. They do have a waitlist, except we were seated right away. We got some waters, which was nice, and wanted to try their fruit teas, so I got a lychee green tea and my friend got their passionfruit green tea. Both were honestly horrible. They tasted like run-down sink water mixed with whatever syrup they use. It was really awful. I thought maybe it was a sugar-level issue, so we politely asked if they could readjust it, but it came back tasting the exact same. I'm very thankful the service was super nice and they removed it from our bill, but I would not recommend any of their fruit drinks at all. For the hot pot, though, it was a completely different story. We ended up getting the rose milky and I got a beef soup, and both were a 10 out of 10. Amazing flavor, great quality, and so much meat, it was incredible. Each hot pot also sits over a small fire, so your food stays hot the entire time, and the staff can turn it off or on whenever you need, which I really loved. Boiling Point is a great option for a cloudy Seattle day. They recently renovated and changed their online waitlist system, you can now sign up for it through a QR code when you walk in. I would definitely say the parking can be limited and not as good as other locations but I love the consistency on flavor for the Bellevue location specifically. It's not super big so keep that in mind if you're coming with big parties. It's a concept where each person can get their own personalized hot pot with live fire underneath. Tried this spot on a Saturday at like 1 and was like a 20 minute wait, they had a text feature on the phone which made it easy for us to go over to uwajimaya right next door and shop around for a bit while waiting. Service was nice and friendly, only thing weird was that we tried to order the lemon iced tea which was on the menu but we tried to order with the server they were like we don't have that and we kept pointing to the menu. In the end we just got a green tea but that was weird. The bowls come with teas and I upgraded mine to the lychee but I think the lychee actually tastes worse than the normal green tea, it was a bit like gritty and not very flavorful. My sister and I were on a mission to be among the first to be seated when Boiling Point opened at 11AM on Sunday morning. The Bellevue and Redmond locations were offering the BOGO deal from 9/13 to 9/15, so we made sure to arrive by 10:30AM. People didn't start lining up until 10:45AM, and we were the second group in line. This was our first visit to the Bellevue location, and I was impressed with the overall experience. The parking lot is a bit awkward and small, as it's shared with several other businesses. Despite what I'm sure was a busy weekend due to the BOGO promotion, the staff were friendly and professional. My sister ordered the Thai Tomato Hot Soup with a Taro Milk Green Tea Slush, while I had the Beef Hot Soup and Winter Melon Juice. We came here after running on a Saturday morning and wanted something hot after a cold day. We came right at opening (11am) and got a table instantly. During lunch, there's a special where you can get a drink complementary to your meal. We got the green tea which was very good and the winter melon which was overly sweet; both iced. This was my second time at Boiling Point, but my first time at the Bellevue location. My friend and I came in the evening around 9pm on a weekday after working out (Boiling Point closes at 10pm). Last time I was at Boiling Point, I ordered the lamb hotpot with a hot spicy level. I really enjoyed the dish and thought it was maybe a 3 star spice at most. This time, I decided to get the Taiwanese Spicy hotpot. The TAIWANESE SPICY hotpot only comes at flaming spicy heat level. As someone who normally gets 4-star spicy dishes (and can tolerate 5 stars), I decided to give it a try - after all, how spicy could it actually be? Big mistake. When they say flaming spicy, they mean FLAMING SPICY!!! I'd say flaming spicy was the equivalent of a 7-8 star spice level as this dish burnt my lips, mouth, throat, and everything inside of me. My lips were literally red and swollen after and my throat was sore for days following. While the ingredients in the hot pot were plentiful, I could barely taste anything as the spicy broth made the dish borderline inedible. Needless to say, I was hungry and wasn't about to waste $30 worth of hot pot, which in hindsight, maybe I should've... My friend ordered the MISO hotpot at mild spice level which was much better than mine. I used her broth to cool down my palette. The broth was savory, creamy, and had a strong umami taste - at least from what my burnt tongue could taste. It was almost like ramen miso broth. Service was great late at night and the servers were very friendly. Even though I 100% regret getting the Taiwanese Spicy hotpot, I hope to come back and try a different hotpot (at a mild or medium spice level) and give them a second chance. The broth didn't taste like it usually does and had zero flavor, but honestly the biggest issue was the rude staff. We waited a long time for someone to take our order even though they weren't busy. We ordered one beef pot to share, two appetizers, and rice on the side (plus an extra order of rice). The food took forever and the appetizers came out with the meal instead of before. The lamb appetizer tasted so old and bad that we didn't even want to touch it. We still didn't complain--we just tried to enjoy our time. Then things got worse. My fiancé asked for another bowl of rice and one server (the one wearing red behind the cashier) brought it out. A few minutes later, he asked for one more, and a different server brought it. As soon as he set it down, the cashier server yelled across the restaurant, "I AlReAdY got HiM oNe!" The other server literally picked up the bowl off our table. We asked what the issue was--he said nothing and put the bowl back. Then the cashier server yelled AGAIN, loudly: "I told you I already got him one. This is his third bowl of rice." Everyone turned and stared. It was humiliating and so disrespectful. They still charged us for all three bowls of rice, and we still didn't argue. But we will NEVER return to this location. My favorite pot is definitely the beef with medium spice. It comes with an array of different goodies. I also love that the lunch comes with a complimentary tea! Their iced green tea is sooo delicious and refreshing. I'm usually a sipper when it comes to drinks but I can downnn this lol I've also tried the curry cream pot and that one is a close 2nd for me. The restaurant does fill up and gets pretty busy, I'm surprised that the reviews are not higher! Came here before they open at 11:00 am on a Wednesday morning and there was a long wait already. What I like about BP it serves a decent portion of individual hot pot. When you come during lunch hours you get free tea drink. We ordered the lamb, beef and Taiwanese hot pot, we all enjoyed the soup. We love BP but the downside of this place is that parking is difficult, there is limited amount of parking spaces so it's best to either carpool or park on the street and walk over to the restaurant. Inside, the service was decent and nothing to rave about, but they were available when needed. The bathroom could definitely use more attention, as it wasn't very clean.
