    Golden Chicken Broth
    Natalie T.

Literally everytime I come to Seattle, I stay at the Grand Hyatt so I get convenient access to this hot pot place! Broths- I love the golden chicken broth, it's super hearty and it just feels good to sip on this! The last time I was here I was pretty sick, so this broth brought me back to life. I also really fancy the mushroom broth, super umami and flavorful Meats- short rib 1000/10 this is my favorite meat from this spot, you really taste the quality and it truly melts in your mouth! It's not super thin like paper and it still has a good chew to it. This is a must get meat! flat iron 8/10 still high quality and it's a classic meat for hotpot! they give you lots and it's affordable for a good sized portion of meat Sauce bar- they have a variety of sauce condiments, sides, and a small dessert bar which is awesome! This is an additional fee but so worth it Chinese donuts- this is a must order side dish I always get, dip it in the golden chicken broth sauce and it's the perfect bite. They make it fresh and I love when it's piping hot and crispy and the perfect amount of oil that coats your lips they also have candy you can grab on your way out! a bonus and must grab. Love this place honestly and I live in the Bay Area, home of amazing Chinese hot pot so for me to rate this high is a great sign LOLOL

Food - High quality, well presented meats and veggies. A nice selection of soup bases that are well balanced. Free ice cream included and sauce bar included. Sauce bar sometimes has good cream puffs. Next to the sauce bar is a snack bar so if you're feeling snackish while waiting for your pot to heat up, you can grab some. Service - Always fairly fast service and you order via a server. Sometimes there's a wait, there's a waiting area in the back that's connected to the Hyatt. Sauce bar as mentioned earlier is free and included. Lots to choose from at the sauce bar and it is self service. Ambiance - A nice place to take a date, it's not too loud, and the booths are separated enough where you feel like you have your own space. I love their hanging decor. It is well lit, so if you're going for more of a dim-lit date vibe, this is not the right fit.

I love this place and it's especially great for groups. We did a 6 person meal with a couple dietary restrictions and it was all very easy to do. Everything was tasty and came out super quickly. The server was very attentive and seemed to appear with new chopsticks or an extra spoon just when we realized we needed them. Truly a good value as well. Love going here and very good options for vegetarians and vegans.

Most important: Go during happy hour, it's 31% off from 2-4pm and then I believe after 9pm. It can still be pretty expensive with this discount so I wouldn't really go without it. Qiao Lin uses some of the highest quality beef out of all of the hot pot restaurants I've been to - I highly recommend ordering the short rib and the other specialty beef dishes. I think all of the other dishes are pretty good but not super special. Get the Chongqing spicy broth, I usually get the medium level which is a bit spicy but super flavorful and delicious. Qiao Lin also has a fantastic snack/side dishes bar, I forgot exactly what they are (will update when I go back) but I really enjoyed it. The service is fantastic, a lot of the waiters are quite energetic and seem to enjoy their job. One of the waiters once gave me a couple of Melonas to go which I thought was super nice! The interior of the restaurant is nicely lit and designed, great vibes overall. 4.9/5

Felt this location still does not fall short. The server Noah went above and beyond for our experience checking in every couple minutes. His energy is unmatched. The quality of the meats felt fresh. Ordered the scallops, shrimp balls, beef brisket and beef tongue. Different kind of broths but my favorite are the level one spicy, tomato, and pepper pork tripe broth. Would recommend making a reservation to get into the secluded room away from the whole crowd. Sauces are create your own, and they have reference recipes if you are unsure.

Great hot pot in downtown Seattle! Takes reservations, fast and friendly service, and fresh and delicious ingredients. Beautiful decor too. Pro tip: ask for ice cream at the end of your meal! It's included :) The spicy soup base is SPICY. We got one out of three stars and it was already really hot. Super delicious, but be warned! Will be coming back!

Food Rating: 8.38/10 Price: 9/10 Ambiance/Service: 9/10 Overall Rating: 8.79/10 I came here at 8 pm on a Friday with a reservation. The waitlist was already at 120 minutes. Even with our reservation, we were not seated until 8:22 pm. Aside from the short wait, everything else was great. Our server Noah was amazing. He was super attentive and had great energy the entire night. The ambiance was clean and comfortable, and the menu is very reasonably priced. The sauce bar for $3.99 per person is absolutely worth it in my opinion. All soup bases are $18.95. We tried the herbal chicken soup and the three chili Chongqing spicy broth. The herbal chicken broth was rich and flavorful. The Chongqing broth definitely lives up to its name and is very spicy. If you have a lower spice tolerance, I recommend getting at least half oil. Freshly Cut Short Ribs - $21.95 Rating: (8/10) The slices looked pretty thick at first, so I was worried they would be tough. Even after accidentally leaving a few pieces in the pot for a while, they were still tender. One Meter Sliced Beef - $18.95 Rating: (9/10) The presentation of this dish was great! And the meat quality was pretty good for the price! Sliced Bamboo Heart - $5.75 Rating: (9/10) Totally worth the price! Enoki Mushroom - $5.95 Rating: (8/10) They were pretty fresh but the portion was a little small for the price. Fresh Tofu - $4.95 Rating: (9/10) The tofu was great! Super soft. Japanese Udon Noodle - $5.95 Rating: (8/10) Pretty standard udon noodles. Sweet Potato Noodle - $4.25 Rating: (9/10) I have never had noodles that had the same chewy texture as rice cakes. These were super good! Vegetable Combo - $9.95 Rating: (7/10) The vegetable pieces were cut a bit too large making it difficult to eat.

Arrived at 8pm and the place was decently packed, but did not wait long as we had a reservation. I ordered chicken herbal broth and the chongqing spicy broth at the highest spice. Both broths were excellent if you want a good balance between the two. Chongqing spice levels are no joke and if you're a spice fanantic, you'll love it. Short rib and meter sliced beef were excellent and I do recommend! Our server Noah was nothing short of superb and was very kind and welcoming in addition to his excellent service. We had all of our requests handled perfectly by him and will be looking for him next time I am back. As someone from the Bay Area, California, I've had my fair share of hotpot and I can say Qiao Lin beats out most if not all, places I have been to. Highly recommend.

I've walked by this hot pot place, but never tried it since it opened. This hot pot place is à la carte, but if you come on certain days at certain times, all dishes are 31% off which is what I did. The broths are delicious, especially the Golden Chicken Soup with Collagen. There are also some unique ones that I've never seen like the Thai Tom Yum Broth. We tried the Tomato, Mushroom, and the Golden Chicken Broth. Instead of a fan overhead, the fan is built into the sides of the pot. There is a huge selection of dishes to order from. The menu is located online on their website. My favorite find was the House Special Frog Legs. I love frog, which you don't typically see on menus. The Fried Fish Tofu was also perfectly fried and golden brown - you did not need to cook this dish in the broth. You can call to make a reservation, but you can also join the waitlist via Yelp. It is quite busy, so it is recommended to make a reservation. For 31% off: - Mon-Thu 2:00-4:00 PM & after 8:30-10:00 PM; - Fri-Sat 2:00-4:00 PM & after 9:30 PM-12:00 AM (excluding holidays) Check the website for the menu and for any updates: https://www.qiaolinhotpot.com/

I went kinda late at night about an hour before closing and got sat pretty quick since I was solo. I got the personal sized pot and the herbal chicken broth which u don't usually get. I also got a plate of beef and some veggies. The soup was super umami and the beef was so soft and tender. It almost felt melt in my mouth! I also got a discount for their late night pricing which was super appreciated too. Service was quick and food tasted great

This spot was so good we went twice during our stay in Seattle. The mushroom broth and the chicken herb broth were delicious and so flavorful. We couldn't get over how much flavor was packed into the mushroom broth. Definitely don't pass that one up. The meats are great quality and taste. The beef tongue wasn't chewy and was tender. They have so many options to choose from and their sauce bar is a great addition to the meats and veggies. Servers were really nice and bussers on point. There's a wait during busy weekends but well worth the wait. There's a waiting area to the back left. The first night they put out coats in a bag to keep the smell off but didn't offer that the second time. Minor thing but would highly recommend checking out.

This is a popular spot located right next to the Grand Hyatt, and you can join the waitlist online--but be prepared for a long wait. We came on New Year's Day for dinner as a party of four and joined the waitlist around 6 p.m., with about 30 tables ahead of us. We didn't get seated until close to 8 p.m. There's a self-serve sauce, appetizer, and dessert bar where you can create your own dipping sauces. They even provide simple sauce recipes on the wall. The meat quality was good--fresh and tender--and there was also a wide selection of vegetables and tofu options. Service was solid. Each table has a water pitcher so you can refill your own water during the meal, which is convenient. At the end, there's complimentary ice cream available near the entrance. Overall, it was a positive experience aside from the long wait. Pricing is on the higher side, similar to other hot pot restaurants, but it's worth it for an occasional visit. There are cute panda decors which I love!

3 broths, veggie platter, mushroom platter, shrimp balls, short ribs, fish fillet, and fresh noodles
    Sarah M.

First, order the broth - regardless of choosing 1, 2, or 3 different flavors, they are the same price (19). The chicken collagen was by far the best, but the pepper one was good too, and Tom yum was very strong with the lemongrass flavor which I didn't love but my partner liked. Then order everything you want cooked in the broth. We ordered a la carte and got the veggie platter (bok choy, cabbage, etc) mushroom platter, shrimp ball with egg yolk inside (recommended by our server), short ribs, fish fillet, and fresh noodles. We opted for the unlimited sauce bar (4/pp) too. The sauce bar had some tortilla and puffy chips, some kind of fish(?) dish (all good) as well as a couple of sweet items among the sauce ingredients. I attempted to follow their suggested recipes for my sauce but I ended up mixing almost everything together and it turned out okay thankfully. The shrimp ball was firm and the yolk inside was fun but I wouldn't order it again. The total was 113 before tax. Their plates are moderately sized and we definitely could have ordered at least another plate of noodles and protein. Next time.

We had a reservation on a Saturday evening but it wasn't that busy. Greeted and sat right away by nice staff. It's a bit of a tight table setup but quite well organized so that each diner can operate the heat of both their hot pot and grill independent of others. Quite a genius concept really and easily learned though odd for familiar diners of each type of cooking. They had this really good stewed pork and quail eggs and a large rice cooker you can help yourself to at the bar while waiting. It was so good I had that for my dessert. A very typical Asian family dish often left on the kitchen stove that we are familiar with. The beverages are included in fridges with many soda lemonade waters and other stuff to grab as you like. There is a huge sauce bar to mix your own. Love the sesame sauce mixed with other things! And a bunch of fresh fruit to help yourself to. The hotpot had a number of choices. Sukiyaki broth looked good and our son loved it. I chose the spicy Szechuan type red broth and ordered it mild but it was still quite hot. Honestly this wasn't as tasty as other hotpot restaurants and even mine I make at home with ginger and garlic is much better. Wish I chose the sukiyaki or basic beef broth like our daughter (it was tasty too). So I gave up after a couple rounds of that and stuck to the bbq. The bbq is small with parchment paper on a steel tray but it cooks up pretty quick and nice. Great general choices with many things available. Spicy pork was not the best I've had though and that's one of my faves. Excellent beef choices and pork belly. Whole head on prawns etc. The list is huge. Overall the service was quite fast and attentive clearing dishes and bringing additional items you order from a tablet. They don't do either type of bbq or hotpot as well as others but it's pretty close and so fun to mix and match! A little extensive but if you can eat a lot it's a fair value.

The menu looked pretty authentic, so I was excited to order and dig into the $6 Food Walk special. The restaurant makes ordering easy: there's a kiosk right in the front for takeout, or for eat-in, there's a QR code to place an online order at each table. It's a pretty casual place, with self service water and bussing after the meal. Braised Pork Over Rice ($6) - The menu shows a picture of minced pork rice (滷肉飯), but this is actually braised pork belly rice (焢肉飯). They include two small pieces of pork belly, fatty and flavorful, braised until tender. There's half a braised egg, cooked homestyle (e.g. until there's a green ring around the yolk), which is quite flavorful just by itself, being marinated and braised for hours. Some pickled veggies helps cut through some of the fat. The special part of this dish is of course the meat juices and braising liquid that soaks to the rice. It adds a bit of a sweet and soy element as well as fat to help make the rice even more tender, yet not mushy. (4/5) The food I ate tasted pretty good, and the menu is interesting enough to revisit. Seems like Gourmet Noodle Bowl is another win on the Food Walk front! Note: They also offered a Food Walk $6 "Shin Ramen Bowl" special that I didn't get. Based on the name, is it just instant ramen?

When we got in, I loved the clean and open space. There was no place to sit and wait, and the waitlist was digital, but we didn't end up having to wait for more than five minutes. The menu was super confusing to me, I don't know if maybe I just don't go for hot pot enough so I wasn't familiar with it enough to knew what was going on, but it took me a while to figure out how to order, I wish our server had asked us if we needed help. My boyfriend ordered the beef hot pot while i got the seafood and tofu. Mine tasted pretty good, I got it at medium spice and it wasn't very spicy for my pallet, but I enjoyed all the different foods that came in my dish. My boyfriend ordered his hot pot at hot spice and he loved the flavour, it was pretty spicy for me, but I enjoyed stealing some of his broth for my food. We both ordered boba to go with our food and I loved my milk tea. I ordered mine without tapioca and should have ordered it with more syrup because it definitely didn't taste as sweet as I wanted. I thought the personal hot pot concept was cool, but what I love about hot pot is that it's a communal experience which makes it a fun date. It was also weird that no one ever returned to our table to check on us. They also give you a low portion. * The broth is okay - it has flavor but not as amazing or spicy as before (I always get the Taiwanese spicy). The pig blood curd was also overcooked. * The sauce containers at the table are barely filled and are lacking the punch it used to have. All in all, pretty mediocre food for a place that used to be pretty decent.

Perhaps yesterday we were in the spirit of celebrating the Spring Festival. We decided to go there. What a great choice! 陈大姐 by coincidence was working. She retired years ago. (Her sister opened another 老四川 in Bellevue but unfortunately has since passed away.) 陈大姐 immediately recognized us. She remembered our son and other family members who often joined us there. It felt like old friends getting together again. Unfortunately my wife and I were the only ones in our little group. It's better to have more people so you can order more dishes. We only got 4 dishes, 宫保鱼, 椒盐虾,干煸四季豆, 夫妻肺片。Gong bao fish, salt and pepper shrimp, green beans and "husband and wife lung strips"! Actually that's a beef and tendon appetizer. Everything tasted just like we remember. Well, the fish dish was wetter than before but still tasty. Flavors are authentic but a little toned down from the Sichuan food in China and in a few other local restaurants. The main flavor of Sichuan cuisine is 麻辣 or spicy numbing. It's not really so hot as it is numbing. Your lips tingle. Most people who didn't grow up with this aren't big fans. Their 水煮肉 or 水煮鱼 comes pretty close though. Leftovers with either of those and leftover rice plus whatever make the very best 烩饭, huifan! Just boil it. We arrived there early and there were just a few other customers eating. And they left soon after. So it was just us and a steady stream of delivery drivers coming in to pick up food to go. I would consider ordering on line like that but this food doesn't hold up well over the distance to our home. Although the interior had been remodeled since our last visit, the decor is fairly stark. Combine that with the location in a strip mall on the corner of Jackson and 12th, which has seen better days, ambience isn't a real draw. However if what you want is a very good meal at reasonable prices then you should go to the Sichuanese Cuisine restaurant in Seattle. (I prefer it to the one in Bellevue.) Too bad you probably won't get to meet 陈大姐。Now that we know the food is still great, we will return.

This was a good order sojourn experience might be better. Ordered pa cake, dumplings, and walnut…read moreshrimp. First they are fast and the walnet shrimp was devoured it was so good. They prices are priced well. Remember everything is al a cart, you pay extra for rice. That's fine. The pancake was inedible it had no flavor and was very (very) dry. The dumplings needed soy which I didnt get (bad on me) and the dipping sauce all heat no chili flavor. I have had better frozen dumplings which made me sad. Will try one of the other amazing Chinese places in downtown Seattle.
