One of our top hot pot stops around! The wide selection and easy to maneuver buffet style area that also creates a much better visual appeal of all the items they have to choose from. The choices of soup bases makes it even better for those who want something more on the mild side to those of us who want very spicy. We enjoy the regular staff and they're always right on top of things including bringing out a fresh plate of fruit before our meals to serving up a soft serve on a mini cone at the end. If you haven't gone before be sure to put this in your rotation of places to eat!!!

This is my favorite YGF location by far. Staff is always friendly and quick, food is always fresh and tastes amazing! The store is always clean thanks to the attentive employees and the price is justifiable. The only downside is that it's a little difficult to find parking but other than that, this is my go to spot for malatang!

I can never say enough good things about YGF! I live closer to the Bellevue one but because it's closed for renovations, I came to the Kirkland location. The layout is different than the Bellevue one, with the ingredients laid out similar to a buffet instead of refrigerators. I think they had a few less/different ingredients at this location but nothing that I use so I hardly noticed! This one was way less busy than normal which was nice! There's only 1 table that can seat more than 4 people so be aware of that if you plan on coming with a large party. As always, I was so impressed with the food and thoroughly enjoyed it!! I always recommend YGF and love bringing friends and family who haven't tried it. Of course I will be back soon! *no dedicated parking lot, has street parking and a large lot across the street

So happy that YGF has another location in WA now! We arrived around 2 PM on a Friday. We enjoyed the fresh ingredients, the Beef Bone Broth, and the Rich Tomato Soup. It was good to know that the Beef Bone Broth also has a 1/2 spicy level. Free fruits and ice cream were included! The facility was very new, clean, and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was street parking. I was able to find a spot right in front of the store, and it was free for two hours!

Solid pick for Kirkland! The meat quality here surprises me every time. For the price of $16/lb it's not too expensive if you're mostly here for variety of vegetables and meat. Soybean rolls are the most worth it! It weighs nothing I always run into the problem of people disliking certain things at a home-based hot pot party, so it results in a lot of cleanup and leftover ingredients. That's not a problem at YGF In terms of toppings and soup, I would recommend the beef base broth with light spice - you can add more peppers from the sauce bar! It gets a little too oily upping the spice directly from the broth. I wouldn't brother with the chicken broth (it's just MSG). The beef broth at least has protein from the bone broth On Friday and Saturday nights, the seats fill up and it gets kind of cramped. But I would recommend this for a low effort dinner after work or lunch hangout with friends on the weekend!

I'll immediately start by saying this is the worst YGF location I've been to. I recommend going to any other spot, but Kirkland is a convenient area. Parking isn't hard to find around the corner, there's a lot open to the public after work hours. Seating here is chaotic and they don't really help maintain order. Edmonds has been really great at helping customers in order after they pay, so it's a lot easier to dine in peace. Here, you have to scout more like a hawk. We also didn't get any oranges while every other table did. Our friend had his order messed up as they mixed numbers and then he somehow got pushed out of the queue. When we got close to finishing the bowls, he went to check and heard the disappointing news. Potentially an off day, but also a headache that I'd love to avoid by easily going to any other location.

Great new addition to the area! Love the concept of being able to choose all your ingredients as you go through the bar. You pay by weight at the end, and then they'll call your number once your bowl is ready. The seafood selection was great, though there weren't as many meat options as I would've hoped - the only cut of beef they had was really fatty, so I opted to load up on the lamb. There were so many veggie, noodle, and tofu/fish ball options, and it was fun to try everything out. I opted for the chicken broth, which was hearty and refreshing. The store itself seemed clean, but some of the utensils... weren't. I had to sift through a few before I found some that seemed thoroughly cleaned. Hopefully this only happened because I visited in this spot's early days? Service was friendly, and I loved the free watermelon they bring you while you're waiting for your bowl :) and free soft serve as you're leaving!

tl;dr - friendly service, fresh ingredients, clean and new My wife and I have been waiting for a long time for this location to open. It's great to have a good malatang place near us. Everything was clean and neat, they appeared to still be putting some finishing touches such as labels for the ingredients. I like the bar style better than the fridges at the other locations. It seems more sanitary as well as not having to fight the sliding door. One important note, make sure you don't lose your ticket with your order number or they won't let you pick up your food. The food was great and consistent with the other locations. The service was overall good except that the food took longer than I expected to come out. I'm going to assume there's some things to iron out as a new restaurant and expect that to improve over time.

Decent Malatang spot in Kirkland. It was clean and not hard to find a table when I visited, contrary to the location in Bellevue. Smaller selection of items than other malatang places on the east side. The sesame sauce in the sauce bar tasted kind of unusual to me so I wouldn't get that again. Someone brought us orange slices, so that was a nice touch. You can also get a small soft serve with your meal.

Lucky Kirkland, we have our own Malatong place now! Its a new YGF franchise location in downtown Kirkland. Malatang soups are perfect for our cold, wet weather. For those unfamiliar, this a "create you own chinese-style bowl of soup" place. This franchise chain has almost 7000 locations across Asia, mostly China. You start by grabbing a big bowl, then filling it with your choice of noodles, veggies, meat and seafood items, from a super long bar. There are many, many types of veggies and noodles to choose from. You weigh your bowl, pick your broth, pay, and turn it over. They take it into the kitchen to cook. BTW, broth choices are beef bone broth, spicy bone broth, curry, herb and mushroom, tomato and I think one more. I did some noodles, veggies and meat, in bone broth, and my wife did veggies and seafood in curry broth. It took about 10 min for our soups to come out. We both thought our broths were delicious, and everything was cooked just right. We will certainly come back. With so many ingredients and broths to choose from, we can make totally different soups each time. BTW, the have a nice condiments bar, to zip up your soup, and if you have room, you can get a free soft serve ice cream.

New YGF location in Kirkland, yay!! This new spot is super clean and vibrant. I like how they have a bar to slide your bowl along as you pick ingredients. The food bar has super fresh meat and veggies. Mala broth tastes exactly like the other YGF locations and it came super hot. Seating here may feel a little more limited than existing locations. Service was super quick and friendly - you grab your ingredients and pay at the end. Great spot for malatang in this eastside area if you're more north.

super nice new ygf location in kirkland!!! my group and i came for opening weekend and there was a 15% discount! unfortunately, this location is $15.99/lb instead of $14.99 :/ not sure if all locations have upped the price or if it's just this one. great ambience and a lot cleaner than other locations. i like the bar set up which makes grabbing your toppings much easier; service was also great. as always, my bowl was delicious!

Our humongous bowls (we were so hungry) with spicy beef broth. My bowl in the front was $23

I really liked the basa fish, as well as the tender beef but towards the end they all kind of tasted the same. The food and soups were pretty good, above what you'd expect from a normal ayce spot. Selection is decent, has a good amount of meats and vegetables but not as vast as the other ayce spots. We only ordered 1 plate of the wagyu which I forgot the name of but it was in the $30 range and was fantastic. Service was very attentive, checking up very often to remove plates, refill water, refill soup, and to give us ice cream at the end. My son graduated and I made reservations here in advance and called to ask about a table for 10, and if they could accommodate us and they said they could. Great! And I separately called about wanting to bring cupcakes and if that was allowed and they were cool with that, so super! It is one of my son's favorite spots so when the evening arrived, we got to the restaurant only to be led to a table that seated 6 in one corner and 4 kitty corner from that table. So...a family gathering had to be split, with 4 of us not even being at the same table as my son-including me. Mom. And in order to be close to him I sat with my back turned from him. Not ideal at all. So I was definitely miffed by this. I approached someone about it-not sure if he's the manager or not but he was very apologetic about it and said that they don't have seating for 10 at one table. But they tried their best by putting us all in the corner together. Not the same thing unfortunately as we could not all celebrate or converse all together. I told him that I had called specifically asking if they could accommodate 10 and I was assured they could but I did not know I had to ask "at the same table?". They should have been forthcoming that it would be at two different tables otherwise I would have made a reservation elsewhere for the celebration. What could I do but just accept his apology? But then, with a party of 10, I would think we would get extra attention but I guess since tip is already included after 5 in a party, they just called it in because I had to ask for more plates, more napkins, spoons, & water because the setting at the table was for 2, and we had 4. No one even asked us if we needed any more broth nor did they ever come to ask if anyone wanted a refill of the AYCE meats. Not that we could eat anymore but no one even offered. And, since everyone had to order the same meat plates, and one person wanted the wagyu, we all had to get wagyu at our table. Doesn't seem fair to me especially when they don't even offer more but I guess that's policy. When my son and I come in by ourselves, they are very attentive and always ask us if we need more of anything. But it was hard to find anyone to come to our table. They never checked on us after they brought the broth and meats the one time. So let me say I was very upset that the tip was included because really, no one served us unless we asked for more things. No one checked on us. Then I had to go and find someone so we could pay our bill. They apologized again for not seating us together but what could I say at that point? I'm not going to make a scene but it ruined a special night when all of the family couldn't sit together. Very disappointed with this visit especially when it's one of our fave places and we frequent it often and spent a good amount of $ that night with 10 people.

Straight forward, again if you know what you're doing. Otherwise just ask questions and take your time. Choosing meats is simple. Pork and lamb are my favorite. Meats come sliced very thin and rolled up and placed on wooden rings that surround the hot pot. Good luck choosing the other items. Green vegetables, tofu, noodles, turnips and dried tofu rolls to name a few. I personally stay away from the coagulated pig blood. After you type in your order, go to the self serve bar. You can always go back later and try different combinations. Also there are small cans of sesame oil that I like to add to my sauce. A server will bring the very hot pot of soup you asked for. Let it return to a boil. Using chopsticks pick up one or two rolls of meat and wave them around in the boiling soup for just a few seconds until the meat changes color to gray. Dip it in your sauce and eat. Repeat. Gradually the soup will take on flavor from all the meat you cook. Add some of this other things you ordered. I usually cook leafy greens and noodles later. Take your time. It seems like you are eating more than you actually are. Payment is at the end because you might choose to order more food to cook.
