Ugh the worst Vietnamese food I've had in a while. We started with the spring rolls which weren't that bad but the peanut sauce was flavorless. Then we had fried rice and egg roll vermicelli. A co-worker introduced me to Pho and I have been in love ever since. Pho Central is minutes from the house so I have delivery a couple of times when I'm home. No flavor. I got the vegan Pho and the broth has no flavor at all. It tasted like they just vegetable broth out of a carton. It was missing all of the Pho spices: star anise, clove, cinnamon, etc. It is such a shame because making Pho at home is so easy to add the seasonings. This is absolutely the worst place ever! I will never coming back here, my brother didn't enjoy his meal and they will not work with us to take it off the ticket. Not only that the pho, taste off. I think it's the seasoning they use- just not the best. Management, will not work with you whatsoever! You don't like your meal- too bad you're paying for it anyways because "it's very hard to make food". Good thing this area is growing and pho restaurants are popping up everywhere now! My husband wanted Vietnamese last night and our go-to restaurant was closed. He found this place. I was underwhelmed at all the food. I ordered the beef pho and spring rolls. When my husband walked in the door the bag was dripping with my soup; the lid wasn't put on the container all the way and a third of the broth filled the bag. Literally, a third of the broth was in the bag and had to be poured out. We get pho to-go all the time. This has never happened. Also, the beef was fully cooked. I'm used to the beef cooking in the broth, yes, even on take-away orders. I didn't particularly like the flavor of the broth. Overall, the pho was only okay, and the spring rolls did not hit the spot. I probably won't. Suggest returning to this restaurant, unless, of course, the usual place is closed. read more

The Spring rolls were just all right but the soup and the sandwiches were delicious. On the sandwiches I have to complain about them not taken the jalapeno seeds out and cleaning the pepper right but took that off and it was delicious. The beef broth had a good flavor. read more

It is still one of my favorite restaurants. However about a month ago we went there were regulars. They know what we order every time and I ordered my pork sandwich. I got a very poor tasting sandwich I don't think it was pork I don't know whether it was it was really stringy meat. And that took some of the joy out of going there. I will go back in time but that was truly disappointing whatever meat that was was stringy and tasteless. I just don't understand how they could have screwed the sandwich up so bad I didn't say anything because I didn't want to cause a scene but it was horrible. Other than the restaurant's been great. I don't know if it's true or not but I believe somebody ordered a sandwich and didn't pick it up and they gave it to me instead and it was not very good. read more

Came here at 11:00 am on a Saturday, and my experience was average. Restaurant: The restaurant itself was a good size, it was pretty clean, restrooms were clean as well but they had just opened an hour before. Chicken spring rolls: They were good, the veggies were fresh and crisp the only thing I didn't like much was the chicken , it honestly felt room temperature. I'm used to other places chicken being hot and fresh. Peanut sauce was good. They came out pretty fast so I assume they were pre rolled. Dumplings: I got the steamed veggie dumplings, I thought they were good even though it was my first time eating dumplings so I can't really say. Brisket pho: The broth wasn't anything special, it needed a little doctoring up with salt and pepper, I also like mine spicy so I added a bunch of stuff. The brisket slices were pretty thick, and tasted good. The noodles were good as well. Service: service was amazing, the staff was friendly and kept checking on us, and on Saturdays they offer free kids meals to kids 10 and under which was pretty cool. Price: we paid $28 , which in my opinion is pretty good for 2 appetizers and 2 phos. Some of the best Pho I've had in Houston. Ingredients are always fresh and service is quick and friendly (after ordering my pho is served in 3-5 minutes). I eat here almost every week and have yet to have a bad experience or a bad meal. The restrooms are also always clean and stocked which is a rather nice bonus. read more

First let me preface by saying my husband and I went here last week and just snacked on appetizers. I am a picky eater and do eat out a LOT since I travel extensively for work. I figured that if the appetizers aren't good, I won't waste my time coming back to try an entree. We ordered grilled chicken spring rolls, grilled pork spring rolls and some Vietnamese egg rolls. The rolls themselves were excellent but the sauces for dipping were greatly lacking, and I truly believe that the dipping sauces make or break an appetizer. The peanut sauce that comes with the spring rolls was so watered down that the sauce was separating in the cup. The consistency was so thin that nothing would stick to the spring roll. Even with the addition of Housin Sauce and Surracha, the sauce was lacking. Same goes for the fish oil sauce that accompanies the egg rolls, it was watered down fish oil with no seasoning, color or anything. Other restaurants will put shredded carrots and spices in the fish oil to give it some flavor and color, this place serves very watered down bland sauces all the way around. The menu did offer a wide variety of Pho bowls and entree platters but I don't think I will be going back since they can't even master something as simple as dipping sauces. The service was a bit slow in taking our orders and delivering food, but quick to print out a check and drop it off without asking if we would like to order anything else. The server, also cruised by the table often to see if we had placed a credit card on the table to close out the check, but neglected to ask if we needed refills on our tea and water. Also, while busing the booth next to us, they bring out this large cart with rubber bins to sort the dirty dishes. They parked this thing in front of our table, right next to my arm while busing the booth behind me. There were so many dirty plates and bowls that had not been scraped clean and obviously sitting in these bins for hours and starting to smell, but they felt it was okay to park this within 8" of where I was eating and were very slow in moving it out of the way, truly made me lose my appetite! The place needs some improvement, I see potential but until improvement takes place, I won't be going back. read more

I am sincerely rooting for this place to make it....the reason I am giving this place a 4 star is because they have the potential to succeed--and because my overall standards for Vietnamese food is unbearably difficult to please. My bf ordered the banh mi bo kho (beef stew with bagguette) and I ordered the pork vermicelli. We shared an appetizer of egg rolls and both ordered avocado boba. The banh mi bo kho was on point but the pork vermicelli not so much. The grilled pork was sweeter than my avocado boba, and something as staple as fish sauce is to my culture, was ultimately bland. This place is wonderful for those who enjoy westernized Vietnamese cuisine, however those accustomed to traditional Vietnamese, honker down. Pho Central is #1 for authentic pho in my book. Their Pho and Vermicelli bowls are delicious, filling, and CHEAP. Not to mention their egg rolls are crispy and full of flavor. My recommendation? Their springrolls did not taste good. They had more noodles in it than anything & they slice a shrimp in half with a slice pate. Their free childrens meals is a little misleading. It doesn't what is considered an adult meal. They should a specific price on what you have to spend or what item on the menu you have to order to get a free kiss meal. I love pho of all types. For this being a small town pho business they have the broth down it tastes really good. The house fried rice is really good. We have tried a lot of the menu stuff sandwiches, vermicelli bowls, pho, rice, smoothies and we ha e not been disappointed at all! We love the egg rolls from pho central. A lot of people complain about the amount of grease in them yet they don't stop and think they are fried..... so yes when you deep fry something it's going to have grease. Hands down give them a try. Very busy crowd during lunch time but service is always good. The soup is great and always a consistent taste.

Of the three pho restaurants that have have opened within a 2 mile radius of each other in the Deer Park/Pasadena area, this one is number one in terms of variety of pho they offer especially since they offer a vegetarian option loaded with fresh veggies (broccoli, carrots, snow peas) but the lowest on the totem pole when it comes to depth of flavor of their broths and sauces. Not to say that it is not good, there is just something missing that the other places have. The same goes for the rice and vermicelli dishes. I would still recommend this place if my friends or my students asked, I would just tell them to try the others first. read more
