A4. Grilled Pork Spring Rolls
Heather R.

I really wanted some pho and this place is close to my house. It was a cold Thursday night when me and the hubby rolled in. It was moderately busy but there was a late dinner rush after we arrived, somewhere around 7:15 pm. The dining area is pretty large with many tables and some booths (?) along the walls. A large flatscreen television was playing women's basketball. We were told to take any seat we wanted, so we sat at Table 6. I hadn't had food all day so I was starving. We were brought two laminated menus and given some time to look them over. We ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls, as well as some crispy, pork-filled egg rolls. Hubby thought the spring rolls were a little loose and prone to falling apart, but I didn't have the same issue. I thought everything was great. The dipping sauces that came with the appetizers was also delicious. They served the peanut sauce warm. I nibbled some of the shredded carrot garnish and was pleased to learn it was pickled! We were given complimentary glasses of water, but we both opted for milk tea. I got taro, the hubby got coconut. My drink was tasty enough, but the powdered flavoring that was used kept collecting on the bottom of my plastic cup and I had to frequently stir it up. Not a deal breaker, just a note. I ordered a large bowl of the classic Pho Central soup with all the fixings: steak, meatballs, tripe, and tendon. I was very excited that they had this on the menu. Most pho places I've looked up don't seem to want to offer tripe or tendon, both of which are favorites of mine. The hubby got a large pho with just steak. We were brought a generous plate of basil, fresh sliced jalapeños, mung bean sprouts, and juicy lime wedges. I have to say, this was the best pho I've discovered since moving here at the beginning of the pandemic. It was flavorful and the meat portions were good. I was very happy that they gave me so much tendon! (Some places can be stingy with it.) I suddenly noticed that the restaurant had emptied out, and it was then I realized they'd closed. (I thought they were open until 9 pm, but it was actually 8.) However, no one came over to hurry us. They let us finish eating in peace. (We were almost done anyway.) We apologized for holding them up, quickly paid, and left. Overall, I thought it was an enjoyable experience, and I'm looking forward to returning sometime in the near future!

Wow! My friend and I came to eat during our lunch break, and were nicely surprised. The ambiance was chill, with booths and tables to sit at. The waitress dropped off our menus and then quickly took our orders. The food arrived within ten minutes, and may I say it was DELICIOUS. We both had brisket pho with chicken spring rolls and regular shrimp spring rolls. We're very picky about the pho we eat and this one surpassed the standards. We'll be back!!!

The food and bubble tea/smoothies here are good. They have a great variety of items on the menu. I tried the taro smoothie with lychee jelly ($4) and it was sweet and delicious! The $4.75 traditional Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwich) was small, but had good flavors. The fresh jalapenos in it were nice and spicy. The $8.50 chargrilled shrimp, chicken and egg roll dish was tasty and filling. Service was good and there are plenty of seating inside. Every Saturday, kids (10 and under) eat free with a purchase of 1 adult meal. There are 4 different options on the kids menu. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . ( ` - ` - ' - ' ' - - - ' ' ( _ / . _ ) - ' ( _ \ _ ) 2020

A good friend of mine told me about this place so I decided to stop on in. Walked and had the pick of the litter on where to sit; so to speak. I was greeted before walking in the door. I sat down and ordered my shrimp Vietnamese spring rolls. I went and washed my hands and the rolls were on Meeting me back at my table; And they were very good. They were thinly wrapped which was great-I had the opportunity to really enjoy the taste of them with my fish sauce. 2-3 minutes later my main dish was joining the table. I must say the Pho Ga was what I needed it really hit the spot. Oh did I say that it was good. There was so much chicken in my bowl. Great staff, clean resturant (including restrooms), quick & efficient service with good tasting food. And NO FLIES!!!! 5

WOW! Is what I have to say about Pho Central. Great place the staff is awesome and very friendly. Now as for the food, man this place is a MUST come to. The food is equally as awesome as the staff. I have eaten lunch here everyday for the past week. I love this place

We drive from Pearland to eat here. It's very good. Everything is so fresh. Can't go wrong. The owners and staff are very friendly. Very clean, also. They even welcomed our high school tennis team after a tournament. Great place!!

Broth tastes amazinggggg my only complain is it had a tiny amount of meat in the pho... still id come again and ask for extra meat (no biggie)

Love love love this restaurant. Very clean and very fast service typically. Spring rolls and pho are incredible and fresh as are their rice and vermicelli dishes. Always a steady crowd coming in and out. I also really enjoy their vegetarian options as a meat eater. The lemongrass tofu is really good.

This is their fruit flavor iced tea it all have an 'emoji on the cover up top

Broth is too sweet. But overall, food was good. And, I asked for some egg rolls but took 45 mins just to bring eggrolls.

A poem dedicated to Sailorfoodie's mom: You became a mother at only 10 years old, Following the passing of your very own. Your younger siblings began to look to you, Giving them the care and protection needed for this journey of life to get them through. What once was a 2-star restaurant, but now in my humble opinion is RIGHT NOW a 4-star restaurant…read more Now to be fair, this place isn't perfect. To-go orders, in my experience, can be quite lacking. Though they wear the title that suggests this place is a simple, humble store that specializes in hu tieu and mi (egg noodles), this place is through-and-through a very, VERY authentic Vietnamese restaurant. As someone who has traveled to Vietnam (VN) as a summer home in the past, I can tell you that hu tieu is a very popular dish to eat in the mornings and for lunch (*ahem* way more popular than pho--trust me). If you've been to NYC, you've seen starbucks at every single corner--it's not different from places that are slinging noodles around Ho Chi Minh city. So I've been back to this place more than a few times and I'm so glad I kept giving this place a chance throughout the years. It used to reek the same smell as the tofu aisle of an Asian grocery store, but I found their food to be quite good for the price... of course, in the beginning, I wanted to eat what they were supposedly best known for, so I got the hu tieu. It's been quite a while since I've had a bowl, but it definitely took me back to memories of VN. And though it does look similar to Pho, they definitely are made with totally different ingredients--one would be unfair to compare the two, but considering how widely popular pho is in the states, it just makes sense to use it as a reference point. Pho is made from beef or chicken, hu tieu is made from pork. Both soups are clarified and have a rather clear broth whereas ramen can be rather rich and cloudy. Some people would say hu tieu in general is "bland," but I whole-heartedly disagree. They've since moved to a new location--still on Scardsale Blvd but just a little closer to i45.
