Friendly staff, very clean and organize l. My wife and I really enjoy what they have to offer here. In my opinion one of the better ramen shop in the area. Food is always fresh and delicious! They also serve sushi as well but we only ever tried the ramen. Come show your support if your in the Clear Lake area

Small shop next to a big shopping plaza. It's very easy to find & there's plenty of parking! Ordered the X Mazeman and it was rich, unique in flavor, and a pretty decent sized portion. There's pork belly & ground meat, and comes with 2 fried eggs and a bowl of rice & sheet of seaweed on the side. The noodles were great quality. We also got the tempura cheesecake which was to die for! The service was great & our waters were never empty. Only thing I wish were that the prices were just a bit more affordable. It's not fast food but it's also not a fancy date night either, but the food is pretty solid and I'd come back again.

This place is a hidden WOW, the food was amazing. You want food to take you back to the streets of Kyoto, this is it. I loved their food. Tried different plates and each one kept getting better. Service was super quick and friendly. The place is a little dark bit it is relaxing. I will go back again for another rice dish along with some ramen.

Came here after seeing the good reviews and it being local in the area. Went during a weekday afternoon as it wasn't busy at all and could sit anywhere by choice. The waitress who served us was very friendly and was receptive to any questions that we had. My friend and I both order the tonkatsu ramen. Overall, the ramen tasted very good (broth, pork, most toppings), however I wasn't really a big fan of the brussel sprouts addition to the ramen, as it added a bitter and burnt charred taste to it. The other thing I wanted to mention was the portions (specifically the chashu) did vary from mine versus my friends bowl as it was significantly lesser, so I will say the consistency can be worked on. I did get food poisoning shortly afterwards the same day, however, I'm not sure if it's from the ramen, thus I will not take off any points or make any conclusions based on my own personal experience. Overall, give it a go if in the area.

Everything was great; service (Alainah), food, ambiance (calm & chilling). Definitely coming back if I'm around again.

Great new place in the Clear Lake area!! One of the few places to serve mazemen, and they do a great job!!! We had some great appetizers (spicy salmon in as taco-like shell of fried seaweed), gyoza, and spicy chicken. All very flavorful and presented artfully. The "X Mazemen" was enjoyed by both my wife and I. Very hearty! Try it first without vinegar, then splash s little vinegar on to see how it brings out the flavors. It's a new place, so no liquor license yet, but you can bring in your own. I had the Thai tea, which was the best I have had outside of Thailand. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Finally decided to give this place a shot, so we came here after church. It was nicely themed like a typical ramen shop and very clean. Our waitress was really nice and was kind enough to tell us all the specials when we didn't know what we were going to order. We ordered some appetizers which were the takoyaki and the spicy salmon tacos. I also noticed that they had a small menu for sushi rolls, as well, however we decided not to order any this time around. Maybe next time! The takoyaki was really good. The outside was lightly crisped and the inside was just filled with delicious seafood creaminess. They also weren't so piping hot that we couldn't just stuff our face with it right away like other places, where it's just so hot we burn ourselves. The spicy salmon tacos were also very delicious. It was lightly crisped and with the pickled vegetables, it really paired well. Finally, onto the main course: I ordered the shoyu ramen and my boyfriend ordered the tonkotsu ramen. The broth was very flavorful and not too salty. The noodles had a good 'bite' to them and the pork chashu was very tender. It was overall a really good experience and I do plan on coming back to try out their sushi menu next, as well as their rice bowls!

Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with toppings on the side

My husband and I went with my brother to Master X Ramen this afternoon and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Spicy Salmon tacos, Takoyaki, and Crispy Wings to start. The Takoyaki was crisp on the outside and topped with wasabi mayo and eel sauce and lots of bonito flakes. Benito flakes move or "dance" when placed as toppings and have an umami, smoky, savory and slightly fishy flavor. They are wonderful and fun to watch as the Takoyaki cools. The Crispy Wings with sweet chili sauce came next. The wings had thick, crisp breading and were scored to allow the sauces to get down to the bone for a deep flavor throughout the wings. These were even better than they look, and we thought they looked phenomenal. Next came the Spicy Salmon Tacos. Spicy salmon was packed in a crispy fried seaweed "shell" on top of a thin layer of slightly pickled and topped with thinly sliced, fried scallions. The fried seaweed gave a pleasant texture change from the spicy salmon and the pickled cucumber (which sounded very strange to us in this dish) provided a fresh bite that worked in combination with everything. The ramen followed. We ordered 2 Spicy Tonkotsu Ramens with one having all the toppings on the side, and one non-spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. These were served in a smaller portion that what we are used to, but filled with so many fresh ingredients and house-made, hand pulled noodles that we felt it was a good size for the value. The sides included chashu pork, seasoned egg, kikurage (a type of Japanese mushroom,) menma, (bambo,) (fish cake, scallions snd charred Brussels sprouts. The tonkotsu broth was strong and all the toppings were fresh. The yolk of the seasoned egg was cooked to custardy perfection. The service was great and the food came out very quickly. My husband and I lived in a heavily influenced Japanese area for 29 years and this ramen could easily compete with ramen from that area. We live over 30 minutes away, but we will definitely be back when we are craving ramen.

Very welcoming staff. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very well kept and clean. Nice lighting and vibe. We ordered a few things off the menu so let's get into it. Chicken Bao slayed. I'd give it a 9/10 only because the portion was way to small for my hungry self. But regardless it was a tasty appetizer. Spicy Tuna Tacos gets a 5.7/10 smelled a bit too much like fish me.. let's just say it didn't make the cut for the to-go box Shoyu Mazeman is a 9/10 as well, I don't really know what it was in that bowl, but it was delightful. Fried Oreos were 8/10 they were good, could be great though. Overall the food was great. Can't complain. I recommend this place for sure

I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

Sushi Flight (6 Pieces, 4 Flavors) - Somehow 1,050 calories??? - Raw Salmon x2 - Strangely, I would have liked this colder. It was just okay. - Cooked Salmon x2 - I liked this a lot more than the raw salmon because it had a deeper flavor. - Scallops - Probably my favorite thing on this platter because of the smokiness they imbue with the torching. The sweet aftertaste was definitely worthwhile. - Shrimp - Not as fresh as I would have liked, as someone who's eaten a lot of shrimp, but I still liked the taste. Still, pretty mediocre. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

One waitress served everyone in the restaurant while I was there. She was speedy in taking and delivering orders. She seemed very nice! Food: ordered Tonkotsu Gachi and my mom ordered the yuzu. Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom. This is really a unique broth and I haven't had anything like it. You should definitely try it! Restaurant: clean, neat, every table literally has its place /orientation.
