    Spicy miso soup
    Hailey L.

First off, the two waitstaff members were very friendly and took the time to explain the dishes we were interested in. Although the restaurant started getting quite busy, they still made an effort to refill our glasses and check on us regularly. We ordered the Pink Lady roll, spicy miso soup, baby octopus, and the Las Vegas roll. All the dishes were fresh, and the Las Vegas roll was so hot that steam was rising off of it. The quaint restaurant had only a few tables, and as our dinner went on, it filled up completely, indicating that this place is quite popular.

Had the baby Tony and fried calamari to start appetizers came quick hot and beautiful presentations. Finished with spicy miso ramen and had me full with the delicious well seasoned fried chicken. The service was warm welcoming and punctual. Will be back! Don't forget to tip!!!

Service was great! Sushi was yummy! If you like spicy and seafood, I would recommend. Over all great place.

Service was really friendly and welcoming. First time having ramen and the broth and soy sauce egg were good, the chicken itself wasn't my favorite because it was dry but it had nice flavor. Shaggy dog roll was good, and we also had the Pasadena roll, veggie roll, curry miso ramen, shrimp fried rice, rock shrimp ( all unpictured ) We had a party of 9 and were very happy with our meal. Would definitely go back!

Food: was really good. The shaggy dog was amazing! The pieces were huge and filling. They had a kid friendly menu, chicken nuggets and fries. Atmosphere: very cute, relaxing and clean looking. Service: amazing. The service was very fast and friendly. Even with all the craziness of Hurricane Beryl and so many without power. Would definitely come again and try some more items on menu.

My wife loves ramen, I love sushi. Sam Ramen gives us the best of both worlds with great quality of both. The ambience is very nice and the service is great. In contrast to a lot of Japanese restaurants, Sam Ramen has great Texas Sweet Tea.

Ate at Sam Ramen back to back days. I have to say this is awesome. Food and service is hands down perfect. Hospitality way above What you would think for a small restaurant. Sushi, Chinese and Ramen. Many choices for everyone. Must try in Pasadena Texas.

Chicken Fried Rice, Salt & Pepper Wings and Teriyaki Chicken with Rice

Still haven't tried the ramen but they are always consistent with the Teriyaki Chicken and Salt & Pepper Wings. I'm telling you! I like to take the peppers and onions from the wings and eat them with the teriyaki chicken because it gives a tasty balance of spicy and sweet. The teriyaki chicken is never too sweet always good. The chicken fried rice could be better...

The food is still excellent, but Sam Ramen has raised their prices lately. Even some of their most basic dishes are pricey now. It's frustrating ordering pick up over the phone. The staff kept interrupting me or stammered too much while I was telling them my order. It's better to dine inside instead, I guess. I'm not going to Sam Ramen too often right now.

    Takoyaki
    Heather R.

I've been to this place several times. What's funny is that I don't go there for the ramen. I haven't even tried it yet. No, what draws me back time after time are the delicious takoyaki and the baby tako skewers. I would gladly eat several orders in one go. The takoyaki have always been hot and fresh, perfectly cooked to be slightly chewy on the outside with an almost gooey center. Each bite is bursting with flavor from the sauces and bonito flakes. The baby tako skewers can be a little hit or miss. By that I'm speaking of the garnish. The tako (octopus) itself is never an issue. It's always great. But sometimes they'll add some green onion on the side which really kicks the flavor up for me, while other times I'm given the skewers and nothing else. I never ask for the onion to be added because I honestly don't know if it's even supposed to be included at all. Am I not supposed to be eating it? Is that why it's not consistently provided? It's a bit pricey for the amount you're given, but I don't mind treating myself to good food every so often.

The service was nice (our server anyway) he got us water when it looked like we needed it and didn't take to long for the check-food wise I was really craving ramen so this hit the spot the egg was a little to salty and tasted weird but it was late so I don't know if that's why-would I say it's the BEST IS TOWN no. But it does hit the ramen spot -oh and the California rolls are very good for 5$ 9/10 would recommend

We walked in and were told to sit where we wanted and handed menus. They took our drink orders first and after bringing our drinks, they also brought us small bowls with a consume style chicken soup/broth. This was tasty, I enjoyed it. They took our orders a couple of minutes after as well. We started by getting 3 appetizers, the calamari, chicken satay and the dumplings. My friend ordered the Pad Thai (medium level spicy ness so maybe a 2-3?), and my other friend and I got the Maiasian fried rice box which comes with shrimp fried rice and a fried chicken cutlet on top. You can also choose your level of spice on this dish. My friend went with a 2 and I chose not to get it spicy as spicy food causes me stomach issues. After placing our order, our first appetizer came out in about 5 minutes and it was the calamari. I could see the seasoning on the breading, they looked tasty and some were fried crispier than others but nothing was overcooked. Upon first bite, the flavor was really good but the spice on them kicks in after you've ate it and they are HOT. I can handle a small amount of heat but these felt like a 5. Needless to say I only ate two. The chicken satay was my favorite of the appetizers, the dipping sauce is peanut butter forward which I loved because you get the saltiness right away along with that PB taste and the sweetness and mild spice come after. The cucumber provided with the satay was the cooling agent I needed to sedate the heat from the calamari. It was cool, refreshing and sweet. The dumplings were pork and shrimp and come with a soy dipping sauce. They were tasty as well, not the best I've had, but enjoyable. Seasoned perfectly. My dish, the Maiasian fried rice box was delicious! The shrimp are a nice size, fairly big, and my favorite vegetable in the rice was the broccoli. The chicken cutlet was fried perfectly too. I really enjoyed it and the one my friend got wasn't too spicy at a level 2. I'd say it was still pretty mild. I did get a taste of the Pad Thai and at a level 3 spice I'd say. It was sweet with that spice kicking in after. It was milder than I thought but over all still a good Pad Thai. After we finished eating, they brought us to go boxes since we all didn't really finish our plates. It was a lot of food and they also brought us these home made cookies with a chocolate frosting on them in the shape of a star. Not sure what kind of cookies these were, maybe sugar cookies I'd say, but they were DELICIOUS! If they would sell boxes of these to go I'd buy 2 or 3 of them hahaha. They were the best thing to end our meals with. I forgot to mention that our food came out pretty fast, and the kitchen is in the dining area so you can see, hear and smell the food being prepared. Aside from the sound of the chef cooking, the restaurant has a quiet ambience and I find it quite cozy. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. It's really a hidden gem.

It's a small place, so it's not ideal for large gatherings and they're easy to miss. El Tostaco Regio does not serve typical Mexican cuisine. Their food is what you would find served on the streets of Mexico. So there's no refried beans, rice or a queso plate here. Most of their dishes comes with beans and a cup of broth. Their food is served fresh, but messy. Everything they make is packed with flavor, but not overpowered by spices. The tables have three complimentary sauces you can try with your dishes. If your other party is not in the mood for Mexican, El Tostaco Regio also have burgers and baked potatoes. Their menu is bilingual, thankfully. The staff are patient and kind. Prices are affordable. I will say that their AC system could've been better, considering we're in Summer now. They only have only bathroom. Aside from a TV playing Latino music, there's no decor inside at all. My major issue is that El Tostaco Regio is NOT wheelchair accessible. That's completely unacceptable!
