The CiCi roll! Just awesome! 12.00 on the happy hour menu

I love this place so much. Been coming here since about 2000. Happy hour until 5pm. Get a CiCi roll and the hamachi Kama

Came here for lunch Thursday afternoon with co-workers. I ordered the pork egg rolls and the Harikari rolls. I enjoyed the egg rolls as they came out hot and fresh and had a nice crisp to it. The meat inside was good but could've had just a tad but more seasoning for me. My Harikari roll was pretty good too. I forgot to ask to leave off the avacado so that was my bad but the their version of spicy mayo (which was pretty darn spicy) took the roll up a notch.

Service was lovely, although sushi was falling apart a good bit and I thought it was alright for the price. Tuna was expensive almost $5 for those two small pieces. Overall a little overpriced, ended up being $25 total for the roll and tuna.

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in Clear Lake. Their food is so good and servers are friendly and efficient. We no longer live in Clear Lake, but we make it a point to eat there when we are in town.

Tokyo Night Roll + 3-pc salmon (sake) sashimi

Came here right after the tropical storm hit. I was honestly surprised that this place was even open considering, but I'm glad that they were. Came here last minute after deciding I wanted sashimi and they sat us relatively quickly. I've been here before, but it was awhile back since. We ordered quickly since we knew what we wanted and we were straight to the point. I got the Tokyo night roll and salmon sashimi. My sister ordered the miso soup, rainbow roll, and salmon sashimi as well. The salmon sashimi was fatty and tender, just how I like it. Dip it with a bit of Wasabi and soy sauce- and it is pure bliss on your taste buds. The Tokyo night roll was beautifully made and surprisingly spicy! I've had spicy salmon before and they were never truly spicy, but this definitely had a kick. It was a pleasant surprise because I do expect spicy salmon to be, well.. spicy! And it definitely was. It was clearing up my sinuses that's for sure. I really enjoyed it though. It had salmon, spicy salmon, and tuna for the raw fish and avocado. It all came together deliciously and I enjoyed it very much. Probably my go-to roll now for when I come back. Nonetheless, this place did not disappoint and satisfied my sushi craving for sure. It wasn't too terribly expensive either. I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of some great sushi!

I've been coming to Tokyo Bowl for over a decade now, and much hasn't changed--which I'm totally content with. To summarize, Tokyo Bowl has some crazy bang for buck when it comes to their sushi rolls/maki/speciality rolls. The flavor is quite amazing and needs little to no soy sauce. Not into raw? They've got plenty of cooked options, too (even rolls). Continue for more details: Outside of sushi, their cooked menu seems a little underwhelming, but when you have banging sushi, naturally everything else kinda pales in comparison. Their menu Includes a selection of Bento boxes, tempura, fried rice, yakisoba, and donburi (rice bowls). Nigiri options are quite expensive compared to neighboring restaurants. You're looking at $3/pc on average. If I ever go again, I'll make sure to give my 2-cents on their nigiri and sashimi. Atmosphere and Service: The restaurant has a really cool wall of fame. Most portraits are of celebrities and astronauts that have dined with them--autographed, of course. The place is small and the same goes for their sushi bar. It's got a dark and romantic atmosphere, but the layout and tables are usually crammed pretty tight together to accommodate more customers. Tonight, however, due to COVID, tables seemed properly spaced apart. Service was quick and check-ins with our server were frequent. Water was replenished. Good overall experience. It seems they work more as a team rather than relying solely on one server, so that helps. COVID: Tokyo Bowl was strictly takeout during the early stages of COVID and must have resumed their dine in experience around the beginning of June. I have no news on what their plans are now with the "resurgence." Hand sanitizer is provided. Servers wear masks. Patrons are asked to keep their mask on unless eating. Recommendations: 1.) Chips Loin (Sushi Roll) - I absolutely cannot go without getting this roll. For me, this is the roll that put Tokyo Bowl on the map. Again, serious bang for buck. In comparison to it's more extravagant brothers with colorful toppings, it falls more on the simple side. It's got a great crunchy texture and a nice tang from the spicy, creamy mustard drizzled over the top. The pieces are cut thin and the roll is a bit fragile, so pick it up using chopsticks pointing vertically downward rather than from the side. I recommend little to no soy sauce for this bad boy. 2.) CiCi Roll (Sushi Roll) - Like something a little more raw? Fewer crunchies, more fish. I believe they use a tuna tar tar on top of the roll. 3.) Unagi don / Unaju don - A cooked option. Freshwater eel over a bed of rice. Lots of it. Eel sauce is something like a thick teriyaki sauce.

Too much rice in the nigiri. The sushi roll was stuck together and not cut all the way through. We had to cut it with our chopsticks :/ rice was also cold. The service was always attentive though, so we appreciate that. Probably won't be back for the sushi anymore.

So I really wanted to love this experience, but unfortunately it fell short in my collection of…read moreHibachi experiences. Let's start with the positives, the restaurant itself and ambiance was nice, clean, inviting...lots of staff! Loved that they had a happy hour on a weekend day, we ordered sushi, sake, and crab puff rolls off the happy hour menu and they were all good. I feel like we would come back at some point and just do happy hour. Lots of good choices on the menu. Soup was very good, loved the soup. Salad was good, very tasty dressing. Soup and salad came with hibachi. Our waiter seemed very rushed, nervous, somewhat annoyed. This was our first time here, and first time looking at the menu. It seemed odd that he took our menus after we ordered a few things off the happy hour menu, if he would have left the menus we would have probably ordered more off the menu. We still had over an hour before happy hour was over. Drinks were okay, I ordered iced tea partner ordered sake. It was supposed to be cold, but seemed more lukewarm temp. Now for the Hibachi, I'm going to be honest it seemed like the guy was struggling. There was barely any interaction throughout the whole experience, and as you know that's what Hibachi is all about. I ordered the steak and shrimp, partner ordered the scallops. Everything was cooked with tons of oil, the shrimp and scallops were drenched in oil and there were some pieces that weren't cooked all the way through. Veggies were barely thrown on and taken right off, they were hard and lacked flavor. The whole point of grilled veggies is the slight char, and taste of the grill. He did remake the scallops but we didn't ask him to remake the shrimp or veggies for the chicken fried rice because at the point the medium steak was turning into very well done. The rice was okay, again seemed very rushed...veggies were barely cooked before chopped and grilled with rice. The service seemed very sloppy, rice veggies flung outside of grill, beside some of the customers plates...cleaning the grill to where we shielded our clothes a few times...he seemed very confused with the orders/waiters notes and seemed like he just wanted to be done. He spoke maybe 3 times the whole experience. I'd like to think that we just got a newer cook, the food itself may have been better maybe if we had a different cook experience. I've done several Hibachi experiences and this one was very lackluster, the table as a whole seemed very underwhelmed. The manager stopped by to discuss the scallops, gave feedback regarding the tons of oil, etc. He gave a military discount I believe about $6. Overall I think for a $100+ dining experience I definitely expect more in terms of experience and treatment of the food. Not sure if we'd return, the guy dining next to us suggested Shogun his issue was that the portion sizes were too small. We might do a stop in happy hour quick bite at some point, but not for Hibachi I don't think. There are so many other options to try.

The restaurant was…read moreclean, well-organized, and the atmosphere felt comfortable for both small groups and solo diners. The broth was flavorful but not overly salty, which worked perfectly for cooking the meats and vegetables. The beef slices were thin and fresh, cooking quickly in the broth and staying tender. The vegetable platter was generous and included a nice variety like cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, and noodles. One thing I liked was the sauce bar--there were several options like ponzu, sesame sauce, garlic, and chili so you could customize the flavor exactly how you want. Service was friendly and attentive. The staff explained how to cook the ingredients properly, which is helpful if you're new to shabu-shabu. The only small downside was that it can get a bit busy during peak dinner hours, so you might have to wait for a table. Overall, it's a great spot if you're craving fresh hot pot and a casual dining experience. I'd definitely come back again.

I did try all of the meats and it was a lot of food but every cut was great! Nice open restaurant with plenty of seating and arranged so you feel as if you have your own space. The only reason I dropped it by a star was that there was only one person waiting on a large portion of the guests. She really tried hard and this is not a knock on her. But even though it was a slow night she struggled to keep up at times. I would have given it 4.5 if I had the choice.

They don't have dessert but they are near dessert spots. I actually really enjoyed their rolls the seaweed wrap was crunchy and the inside was warm and you could taste each individual flavors inside the roll. I tried the 5 roll set Salmon Fatty tuna melts in your mouth with the right amount of flavors Crab thick and meaty Spicy scallop loved that you could get that hint of spicy from the seasoning Yellowtail I tried the yellowtail crudo in ponzu sauce Salmon crudo in mayo based sauce and tuna crudo in chili oil. The yellowtail crudo was my favorite. The ponzu sauce really brightened the dish with a hint of lemon zest. The salmon crudo was my least favorite only because it was a thicker sauce and heavier so it overpowered the salmons flavor. The tuna crudo was pretty good though I wonder if they could blend the ponzu sauce with the chili oil and it would've kicked it up a notch. I also tried the lobster roll which was not the typical one from the menu I tried the butter lobster. That one was my second favorite.. you could taste the quality of the lobster.
