Happen to be in the area and was hungry for some sushi so stopped in at Akashí. Devote was modern and the place was very clean. We were not disappointed. The device fast and friendly. Popped in before the dinner crowd and it was starting to pick up. Our waitress was friendly, fast and efficient. We just ordered rolled and each one was delicious. I will definitely stop here again if I am in the area.

This place has quickly become my husband and my favorite place. We're working our way down the chef special and everything has been amazing! But it took one special waiter for me to take the time to write this review. I don't know his name but he is a true gem. He had hilarious commentary throughout our dining experience and when the bill came he showed up with two bills!! We expected he split it and we quickly explained that we were together and that one check would suffice. To my blundering surprise, I opened my bill and found not a check but this super cute illustration. I plan to frame it because the impact it had on me was so profound that it made me want to be even better at my job as well and add fun little spice as he did. Well done Akashi!! Give this guy a raise!

Always enjoy eating here. The interior is very nice. We've eaten at the bar and in a booth. Always good service and the food and drinks are yummy.

I love Akashi! I usually go to the one in vintage but I was in the area for lunch and I love this place. I was the first customer of the day and service was fairly quick. I was seated instantly and my order was taken pretty quick. I got the lunch special triple delight and an order of calamari. The calamari came out pretty quick. Very quick and tasty. I don't like how they use a bunch of veggies to make it look full with a little bit of calamari. The flavors are on point but the plating was a bit sloppy. The lunch special comes with fried rice or white rice and choice of soup. I got white rice and egg drop soup. I love their egg drop soup. It's seasoned nicely where you don't have to add any salt. I wish they had black pepper on the table. I love black pepper in my food. The eggroll was really good and the triple delight was good. It has a bit of a burnt wok taste like the wok was too hot. It was tasty tho.

It's my first time to come to here. The environment is very good and the restaurant is very clean. The service is pretty good, and the sushi and appetizers I ordered are also very satisfactory. The price is reasonable and cost-effective, and it is worth coming again ..

Coming back from a trip in the evening, no one has time to go grocery shopping. After eating tons of good authentic Mexican food I craved for sushi. We hit the jackpot because this place is 5 minutes from our house and sushi definitely fulfilled my craving. When you walk in you see the host/hostess and then you turn and are greeted by all the pretty lights happening at the bar area. They have 3 TV's and even though we didn't sit at the bar we we're still able to watch the rockets game. No squinting or trying to squirm around to see the tv. We ordered 3 different sushi: Volcano roll, tuna and avocado, & Chilean cod- amazing and we would order it again. Never had cod in a sushi before but take that sushi, dip it in the sauce, and you'll thank me later! Of course we had to order hot saki. No different from any other place. Be sure to suck in some air to bring out the flavors of the saki! Otherwise, you're missing out!

Good food with a nice ambiance. I like the veggie roll as a nice snack or light meal. The kids sized fried rice is a nice option for lunch! Very clean establishment with quality service.

I finally tried out Akashi last week and was extremely pleased. The order took a bit longer than I expected, I called when they first opened, arrived when they said the food would be ready, and still had to wait an extra 10 minutes, which wouldn't have been a big deal if my wife and baby weren't waiting in the car. That said, quarantine makes everything difficult, the staff was good at wearing masks and keeping hygiene, and the patrons all kept good distance between each other. The food itself was fantastic, one of the favorite Asian dishes I've had in clear lake. I ordered the Mongolian triple delight which had beef, shrimp, and chicken. The beef was extremely tender, the chicken was lean and not gummy, and the shrimp was well cooked and de-shelled. There weren't many veggies in the dish, I think just green onions, and I would have loved some more veggies in it but the fried rice it came with was definitely a great compliment to the proteins. I would 100% recommend this dish to others and I look forward to trying other dishes at Akashi!

Let's start with the positives, the restaurant itself and ambiance was nice, clean, inviting...lots of staff! Loved that they had a happy hour on a weekend day, we ordered sushi, sake, and crab puff rolls off the happy hour menu and they were all good. I feel like we would come back at some point and just do happy hour. Lots of good choices on the menu. Soup was very good, loved the soup. Salad was good, very tasty dressing. Soup and salad came with hibachi. Our waiter seemed very rushed, nervous, somewhat annoyed. This was our first time here, and first time looking at the menu. It seemed odd that he took our menus after we ordered a few things off the happy hour menu, if he would have left the menus we would have probably ordered more off the menu. We still had over an hour before happy hour was over. Drinks were okay, I ordered iced tea partner ordered sake. It was supposed to be cold, but seemed more lukewarm temp. Now for the Hibachi, I'm going to be honest it seemed like the guy was struggling. There was barely any interaction throughout the whole experience, and as you know that's what Hibachi is all about. I ordered the steak and shrimp, partner ordered the scallops. Everything was cooked with tons of oil, the shrimp and scallops were drenched in oil and there were some pieces that weren't cooked all the way through. Veggies were barely thrown on and taken right off, they were hard and lacked flavor. The whole point of grilled veggies is the slight char, and taste of the grill. He did remake the scallops but we didn't ask him to remake the shrimp or veggies for the chicken fried rice because at the point the medium steak was turning into very well done. The rice was okay, again seemed very rushed...veggies were barely cooked before chopped and grilled with rice. The service seemed very sloppy, rice veggies flung outside of grill, beside some of the customers plates...cleaning the grill to where we shielded our clothes a few times...he seemed very confused with the orders/waiters notes and seemed like he just wanted to be done. He spoke maybe 3 times the whole experience. I'd like to think that we just got a newer cook, the food itself may have been better maybe if we had a different cook experience. I've done several Hibachi experiences and this one was very lackluster, the table as a whole seemed very underwhelmed. The manager stopped by to discuss the scallops, gave feedback regarding the tons of oil, etc. He gave a military discount I believe about $6. Overall I think for a $100+ dining experience I definitely expect more in terms of experience and treatment of the food. Not sure if we'd return, the guy dining next to us suggested Shogun his issue was that the portion sizes were too small. We might do a stop in happy hour quick bite at some point, but not for Hibachi I don't think. There are so many other options to try.

There's decent space inside, but not suited for large gatherings. The location is a little difficult to find. Komeya is crammed into a small business strip next to a busy street. Every day, Komeya has a different special of the day, food they don't typically serve on their menu like Korean fried chicken wings or fried mochi with banana for example. Prices aren't too bad. I wouldn't recommend the green curry ramen. It didn't remind me of Asian curry and it lacked flavor, though the chicken in my green curry ramen was seasoned and cooked to perfection. When we walked in we were treated by Athena, who really made the whole experience! As time went on it stared to fill up quick! Athena has great hospitality! I had high expectations as an amateur food critic and picky sushi lover. Koyo exceeded my expectations and gained a new fan! We got the 5 hand roll, Tuna Crudo, YellowTail truffle crudo, cucumber salad, and an extra scallop hand roll (because it was tooooo good). We started with the Salmon hand roll. I'm very picky about salmon, it's usually too fishy. This salmon was fresh, cold, and fantastic. I actually preferred it over the fatty tuna hand roll, which was our second. We then got the blue crab roll, this was more of a blue crab salad. It was mixed with a very light sauce I believe. Almost chicken salady texture. A little fishy but now overwhelming. Then came our favorites, the spicy scallop roll and truffle yellowtail. The spicy scallop roll isn't actually spicy, but packed with plump diced scallops tossed lightly in a bright cliantro cream sauce before wrapped in the seaweed. It was so good we ordered another! The truffle yellow tail was also bright and melted in your mouth. Get the four sauces to try! The chili crunch was our favorite!!! Side note: compared to other hand roll bars. This place did not smell bad like a fish market. The seaweed was CRISPY and mellow and not overpowering. The decor was light and the little crab chopstick holders were a cute touch. I was truly truly impressed and can't wait to visit again. Shout out to Athena for making the experience fantastic.

They don't have dessert but they are near dessert spots. I actually really enjoyed their rolls the seaweed wrap was crunchy and the inside was warm and you could taste each individual flavors inside the roll. I tried the 5 roll set Salmon Fatty tuna melts in your mouth with the right amount of flavors Crab thick and meaty Spicy scallop loved that you could get that hint of spicy from the seasoning Yellowtail I tried the yellowtail crudo in ponzu sauce Salmon crudo in mayo based sauce and tuna crudo in chili oil. The yellowtail crudo was my favorite. The ponzu sauce really brightened the dish with a hint of lemon zest. The salmon crudo was my least favorite only because it was a thicker sauce and heavier so it overpowered the salmons flavor. The tuna crudo was pretty good though I wonder if they could blend the ponzu sauce with the chili oil and it would've kicked it up a notch. I also tried the lobster roll which was not the typical one from the menu I tried the butter lobster. That one was my second favorite.. you could taste the quality of the lobster. They drizzle the butter on top and wrap it up. Rating: 5 stars Service was great the manager was there and she was very attentive.
