    The bill!!!

This place has quickly become my husband and my favorite place. We're working our way down the chef special and everything has been amazing! But it took one special waiter for me to take the time to write this review. I don't know his name but he is a true gem. He had hilarious commentary throughout our dining experience and when the bill came he showed up with two bills!! We expected he split it and we quickly explained that we were together and that one check would suffice. To my blundering surprise, I opened my bill and found not a check but this super cute illustration. I plan to frame it because the impact it had on me was so profound that it made me want to be even better at my job as well and add fun little spice as he did. Well done Akashi!! Give this guy a raise!

Always enjoy eating here. The interior is very nice. We've eaten at the bar and in a booth. Always good service and the food and drinks are yummy.

I love Akashi! I usually go to the one in vintage but I was in the area for lunch and I love this place. I was the first customer of the day and service was fairly quick. I was seated instantly and my order was taken pretty quick. I got the lunch special triple delight and an order of calamari. The calamari came out pretty quick. Very quick and tasty. I don't like how they use a bunch of veggies to make it look full with a little bit of calamari. The flavors are on point but the plating was a bit sloppy. The lunch special comes with fried rice or white rice and choice of soup. I got white rice and egg drop soup. I love their egg drop soup. It's seasoned nicely where you don't have to add any salt. I wish they had black pepper on the table. I love black pepper in my food. The eggroll was really good and the triple delight was good. It has a bit of a burnt wok taste like the wok was too hot. It was tasty tho.

It's my first time to come to here. The environment is very good and the restaurant is very clean. The service is pretty good, and the sushi and appetizers I ordered are also very satisfactory. The price is reasonable and cost-effective, and it is worth coming again ..

Coming back from a trip in the evening, no one has time to go grocery shopping. After eating tons of good authentic Mexican food I craved for sushi. We hit the jackpot because this place is 5 minutes from our house and sushi definitely fulfilled my craving. When you walk in you see the host/hostess and then you turn and are greeted by all the pretty lights happening at the bar area. They have 3 TV's and even though we didn't sit at the bar we we're still able to watch the rockets game. No squinting or trying to squirm around to see the tv. We ordered 3 different sushi: Volcano roll, tuna and avocado, & Chilean cod- amazing and we would order it again. Never had cod in a sushi before but take that sushi, dip it in the sauce, and you'll thank me later! Of course we had to order hot saki. No different from any other place. Be sure to suck in some air to bring out the flavors of the saki! Otherwise, you're missing out!

Good food with a nice ambiance. I like the veggie roll as a nice snack or light meal. The kids sized fried rice is a nice option for lunch! Very clean establishment with quality service.

I finally tried out Akashi last week and was extremely pleased. The order took a bit longer than I expected, I called when they first opened, arrived when they said the food would be ready, and still had to wait an extra 10 minutes, which wouldn't have been a big deal if my wife and baby weren't waiting in the car. That said, quarantine makes everything difficult, the staff was good at wearing masks and keeping hygiene, and the patrons all kept good distance between each other. The food itself was fantastic, one of the favorite Asian dishes I've had in clear lake. I ordered the Mongolian triple delight which had beef, shrimp, and chicken. The beef was extremely tender, the chicken was lean and not gummy, and the shrimp was well cooked and de-shelled. There weren't many veggies in the dish, I think just green onions, and I would have loved some more veggies in it but the fried rice it came with was definitely a great compliment to the proteins. I would 100% recommend this dish to others and I look forward to trying other dishes at Akashi!

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.

What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that my wife and I were the only Hispanic customers in the restaurant at the time. Seeing other customers receive noticeably different treatment made us question whether our ethnicity had anything to do with why we were being ignored. I cannot say for certain that this was the reason, but that was genuinely how the situation made us feel. We ultimately decided to leave because we should not have to sit there wondering whether we are being treated differently because of who we are. Everyone who walks into a restaurant should be welcomed and treated with the same level of respect and attention. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into how customers are being treated, because this was not the experience we expected.

To summarize my review before it begins, Masa is now my destination if I am craving sushi and Japanese food. The atmosphere was elegant, which makes it stand out from other surrounding sushi restaurants. We started off with cold sake and Ahi Poké Nachos, which were crispy and delicious. My friend and I split Sushi Combo C, which features 20 pieces of assorted sushi with California and Spicy Tuna rolls. The sushi was very fresh and skillfully made. The Tamago was freshly made with the traditional chopstick method. This was the best sushi I have had since I dined at Nobu in Las Vegas. Our companions had the chicken katsu Bento Boxes because they wanted an assortment of things to try. The tempura battered shrimp and vegetables were lightly crunchy and delicate. After dinner, the four of us had a round of Ninja Drop martinis, which were tangy and sweet. The owner, Michael Zhou (pronounced "zjoe"), came over to say hi. He encouraged us to try one of his favorite items, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular. To finish, we had a couple of bottles of hot sake alongside some yummy mochi ice cream. Not at all mad about the gigantic, juicy, crunchy pieces of karaage or the reheated and dressed takoyaki (yes, wisdom teaches you things, and there's no way a restaurant can reproduce takoyaki [from scratch] that perfectly when they cant even maintain quality on their staple), but as happy as I am with the chicken, I will make the suggestion to bring back the spicy mayo and to keep the lemons on the plate. Although my partner didn't show it and said it was fine, it was obvious she was disappointed that she didn't receive a Demon Slayer soup spoon from ordering the monthly special since they were out of stock (waiter says there is no guarantee the spoons will restock). The promotion is set to end sometime in February, but I might take another long break from Jinya, again. I got the tried and true Jinya tonkotsu black, which was served with chewy (yes, chewy) pieces of pork chashu. I also noticed the wife only ate her toppings from her chicken yatai ramen and offered to trade her since I was mostly happy with mine. Wow, the monthly special, chicken yatai was super bland. I voiced my complaints about the yatai that was barely eaten and that the chashu was not rendered enough. He said he would let the manager know, who offered a complimentary ice cream mochi (ok, these werent bad). Ambiance: casual, loud with my type of music (pops, edm). The hard truth: not a place I could recommend to friends at this moment. Glad the owner is doing so well in this area and would highly recommend sister restaurants, but there's a glaring need for quality control here and maybe a bit more accountability is needed. Looks like I have some old pictures still uploaded, so I'll just go ahead and leave them in the post, but just take my word that the tonkotsu black still looks the same and the chicken and takoyaki are indeed as pretty as they are scrumptious.

It was one of those dishes where every bite makes you pause because it's just that good. The Scallop Crudo was equally delicious. The tamarind ponzu sauce was incredible--bright, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the sweetness of the scallops. We also ordered the Salmon, Fatty Tuna, Scallop, Tuna, and Lobster hand rolls.
