    Crab hand roll

Fast, easy, laid back. Great food and ambience. Perfect date night or quick pick me up for yourself or with a friend. Servers are sweet and the sushi chefs are observant. They wait until you're done with your roll to make the next one so the hand rolls don't get soggy.

The quality for the price that you get is amazing. I got the one of the handroll sets where you get 5 rolls for $25. It comes with a salmon, fatty tuna, crab, spicy scallop, and yellowtail roll. The ratio of rice to fish was really generous. There were some unique garnishes that I had not tasted before. I believe it was either the scallop or yellowtail roll that had a really earthy taste to it and it was really good. The place was not too crowded but we also did come at an odd time and during the weekday. Seating is bar style and service was great!

So happy there's a hand roll place on our side of town now. Very clean, attentive staff, and a simple menu which I prefer. I usually just go for the 5 hand roll set which makes each hand roll $5 each which I feel is a fair price. My only gripe is that you can't mix and match and if you decide to go away from the sets they cost maybe a $1-$3 extra. Overall the fish quality is excellent and the rice and seaweed all pair well. For an extra $1 you can get a bowl of chili oil crunch/other condiments to add to your hand roll and they don't skimp out! I feel it's a good idea to shell out the extra $3 to get the flight of 4 dipping sauces and see what's your favorite !!

Koyo Hand Roll Bar is a handroll and more restaurant located in Webster. I have been a few times, and it's a must visit when I stop by to see my family in Pearland/Webster now! The seating is in a U-shape around the sushi bar, and although it looks like limited seating, I have been able to secure a spot each time, even with a party of six. I do think you should call ahead to see if there's room for a spontaenous large party or even make a reservation. I usually get the five set handroll, which comes with handrolls consisting of salmon, fatty tuna, crab, spicy scallop, and yellowtail. I also like to get the chili oil crunch sauce, which I put on top of each bite of my rolls to add an extra crunchy texture. The yellowtail and fatty tuna handrolls are my favorite. The food comes out pretty efficiently, and service and quality has been consistent each time. I think I prefer this place to other handroll locations within the inner loop of Houston, since it's not as super crowded all the time, and the ingredients taste fresh and are very consistent each time. Koyo is definitely a nice addition to the Webster area, and I definitely will be visiting more!

Was in the area and had been wanting to try this after seeing it online. Ordered take out. They said 15 minutes online but it was probably closer to 20 minutes, which was not a big deal at all. They were super nice and the restaurant is big and spread out, like those classic sushi bars where you can watch the chefs work. I got the salmon crudo and the 5 hand roll sampler. The salmon was delicious, 5 pieces of salmon paired with a creamy garlic aioli. It feels kind of small for $12 but it was quite good and probably about expected price for the quality of salmon nowadays. The hand roll sampler box is an amazing $25 and comes with salmon (great, loved it), fatty tuna (yummy, nice mix), crab (tasty), yellowtail (initially strange but good mix ins, and spicy scallop (didn't try this one but my mom liked it a lot). I'm glad I followed the advice of other reviews to get the spicy chili garlic crunch. That really elevated the rolls, adding a layer of depth with the spice and texture with the crunch. I also used the leftover garlic aioli from the salmon crudo as part of the sauce and that also worked super well. The to go packaging is super nice and they have well designed plastic rolls to keep the seaweed crispy, while the rolls and rice were tightly packed and full of fish. Definitely a must! Their menu is kind of small. Will need to try eating in next time!

Great vibes and so affordable and way more worth it compared to Handies Douzo. The yellowtail handroll was a favorite as well as the spicy scallop. Staff is super friendly as well and the interior is beautiful! They gave a cute sticker freebie as well which was a nice surprise.

I came here on a Sunday in the afternoon, for the first time. Easy to locate in a strip center near a Jinya Ramen. There was only 1 other person waiting for take-away so I essentially had the place to myself. It's a cutesey intimate place, decorated simple and modern with 1 sushi counter. I asked the server if it was always this quiet, she stated it's busier for lunch and dinner, but in between it's pretty calm. I love that they have service all day 11am to about 10pmish. Which is great, so you can go during offpeak times. Sometimes restaurants limit themselves to only dinner, or open to 11am to 2p then close until 5p etc. I wonder if they will make a HH in the future? Food- I decided on the 5-set. Salmon, fatty tuna, crab, spicy scallop, and yellowtail. Ultimately my fav was the yellowtail, but the salmon and crab were pretty tasty. 5 for $25 is a pretty great deal, but is is the 'burbs. Service- was great, had a nice chat with my server. She was very warm and inviting. And was a young college student working for the summer. I will definitely return.

Came in Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. The host and chef greeted us and told us we could sit wherever we wanted. The interior was nicely decorated and full of mirrors. This is the third handroll place I tried in the houston area and I would say it is my favorite! The quality of it matches the other and while the menu might be a bit smaller I was only there for the set menu. The 5 set is so worth it. The size of the handroll was just filling enough and I enjoyed the garnishes inside each of the rolls. For the spicy scallop it wasn't your usual spicy mayo sauce, but whatever it was I loved it more. Salmon, toro, crab, and yellow tail were all great as well. Hope they get more business soon because they deserve it! A nice addition to the southwest area. 8.9/10

Came in between lunch and dinner, so to be fair there wasn't many people dining in at the time I went (perfect for me!) Place is fairly new, it was mentioned grand opening was last Saturday and they've been open for 3-4 weeks now. I came across this place on IG ad, and I've been loving handrolls recently, so when I saw the menu I definitely knew this was up my alley. $25 for the 5 handroll set was a steal compared to handies/hando,etc. also got 2 crudos - Salmon: 9.5/10 Fatty tuna: 10/10 Crab: 10/10 Spicy scallop 9.5/10 Yellowtail 10/10 (my favorite one!) Yellow Tail Crudo: 9.5/ 10 Salmon Crudo: 10/10 (I loved the garlic aioli in this!! I thought it paired so well w/ the lemon zest) Their seaweed is delicious and crunchy. You can taste the freshness of the fish, and every bite will be absolute bliss. Special recognition to Chef Leo, he was so detailed oriented when making the crudos I can tell he is passionate in his craft, and overall kind making sure all the handrolls came out right. The employees too were also attentive and interactive. The place was super clean, organized, and I loved the seating arrangement with also the gorgeous mirrors on the wall. Makes a good evening setting for date nights, girls night, etc. plenty of parking. Definitely will come back again! I will drive near and far for this place because dare I say, if handies/hando was your favorite, you might change your mind like I did. Bringing everyone I know here next time. Thank you guys!!

We found this place from an ad on Instagram! Didn't know what exactly to expect. Upon entry, the place was extremely clean with a nice interior design. Lots of seating around the chef's area. Reminds me a lot of Handies Dozo. I ordered the 5 hand roll set and my husband ordered the 4 hand roll set. We also ordered salmon crudo to share. I got full super quickly after 5 hand rolls. Everything was great! From food to the service. I would definitely come back to try more items!

I'm so excited that my sister and I stumbled on this little spot. It's very clean, brightly lit and modern with stools around a central area for chefs to make rolls for you as you order. There was no wait at all because it literally opened Monday, so we also got the benefit of almost everyone's full attention. Each item was so fresh, and the rice was so warm and seasoned wonderfully. The nori was was so crisp because it's made fresh and handed to you. Fave items: salmon crudo, yellowtail hand roll, spicy scallop hand roll. The spicy scallop had such a different spice profile than what I was expecting--it tasted a bit like my mom's chicken karahi. So you know I had to get two of those. I can't wait to see this place get busier and the attention it deserves.

Ordered Koyo to go while I was in the area. It's located near Jinya and Gen off Egret Bay. The rolls were ready for pickup within 20 mins. The seaweed is packaged in a clear plastic sleeve to keep it perfectly crisp while the rice and sushi are rolled tight and compact. The fish in each roll was fresh. The crab hand roll is always one of my favorite at any hand roll restaurant but all were equally good. The hostess was super inviting and kind. You're greeted with a smile from when you walk in to when you walk out. Glad there's a solid hand roll place on the Southside of town.

My boyfriend & I came here for a late night dinner on a Saturday and really enjoyed it! We had salmon crudo, my boyfriend really liked the lemon zest on top. We were recommended to get the chili oil crunch from a friend and it made the rolls even better. Next we got the 4 hand roll set, and both ranked them from best to worst as: spicy tuna, salmon, (added the fatty tuna after but its 3rd), yellowtail, then crab! The whole staff were very sweet and attentive as well, the waitress even gave us cute Koyo stickers and her happiness was contagious!

It's an easy place for all kinds of gatherings, especially ones with big groups and a thirsty penchant for beer. In a place like Webster where chains rule and suburban life is abundant, Saloon Door stands out as an excellent local option. It may not look like much from the outside and even the interior is minimal, but that somehow doesn't matter when groups of people are enjoying their brews together. They host all sorts of events and also allow for private use of dare venue space. Any first timer should absolutely indulge in a beer flight with some kind. The brewmasters are kind enough to let folks sample to their heart's content. Not everybody is beer savvy (#1) but they do a good job of recommending the right ones for any given palate. I appreciate their selection of stouts, ales, light brews, and IPAs. I have a fondness for their peanut butter milk stout, as well as dar dildo pickle gose. The tasty AF is also a good one, as is the lava imperial hot rock beer. The ladder has an ABV of 11%, so it is the most potent one in their lineup that I know of. Most breweries like this aren't always known for food, but there are some nice deals to be had here. Their taco Tuesday nights are popular since board games and happy hour beers are apparently a thing. The Friday deal for $15 inlcudes a burger, fries, and a beer would is very affordable in these times. Thursday nights they activate their projection screen and do a " a retro video game" night with plenty of multiplayer and beer specials. I always look forward to coming here. There is no pretense, plenty of good service, and even more good beer. __________ (#1) ::::coughs:::: me.

It was one of the first on this side of town before everyone and their mom started opening up breweries. The difference is, it has stood the test of time and is still going strong. This location is located in an industrial park close to I-45. There is plenty of parking. It anchors that particular section and is quite large inside. There is plenty of seating and they also have space available for private events. The staff here know their product and offer great advise on what to pick if you are indecisive like me. They have quite a respectable assortment of beers to choose from. They have light beers, malty beers, stouts, IPAs, and seasonal beers. I would suggest a flight if you want to try a few different things. I am not a big IPA guy, but Saloon Door has some that are pretty tasty. My favorites here at their stouts. They are heavy, but easy to sip on. Their stouts have flavor profiles that I love. My all time favorite Saloon Door beer is the Tasty AF. It is a peanut butter and chocolate milk stout. How can you go wrong with that flavor combination. It's like drinking a dessert. Some breweries name their beers with flavors but don't deliver on said flavor. Here, their beers are true to their names. Don't sleep on their other offering though! As far as food, they have rotating food trucks that you can order from. This location was my introduction to Saloon Door, but they did open their second location closer to my home. I would still without a doubt come back to this location if in the area though!

We had so many restaurant options but chose this place because of the high ratings... and I'm so glad we did. I'll be honest--when we first arrived, I wasn't impressed with the outside or the area. I was a little hesitant going in. But the moment we walked through the doors, everything changed. The place felt welcoming, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere--yes, a little loud--but in a good way. It's that lively Mexican vibe: music, micheladas, carne asada... all of it. We were just tired, so I think I noticed it more. Now let's talk about the food... I ordered the Maestro Plate but swapped the meat for short rib costillas--and OH. MY. GOSH. These were hands down some of the best costillas I've ever had. Juicy, tender, packed with flavor. I cleaned those bones completely--every single bite. The dish was served with perfectly grilled "nopales" and queso panela, que ricura! Ahhh, and of course the charro beans and rice that I barely made a dent in. The portions? HUGE. Two of us shared one plate and still had leftovers--and we can eat! Now this part says everything: my grandson, who is on the spectrum and very picky, ordered pollo asado... and he tore into it. No complaints, no hesitation--he finished his entire plate. That alone speaks volumes. My daughter had the birria (and she's a birria critic), and even she couldn't finish her plate because of how generous the portion was--but she said it was full of flavor and really good. My older grandson (big growing boy with an equally big appetite) had a birria quesadilla--again, huge portion--and even he couldn't finish it, which never happens. To top it all off, the owner surprised us with a complimentary dessert--warm, soft, pillowy sopapillas with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The kids were FULL... and still devoured every last bite. Not a crumb left. And let's talk about pricing... honey. Compared to Austin? This was a steal. I was honestly shocked at how affordable it was for the quality and portion sizes. Amazing food, generous portions, great service, and a place that turned my hesitation into loyalty. They've earned our business--100%. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town.

When we arrived, we seated ourselves outside, where there was only one other group present. Despite the patio being very small and the waitress coming in and out several times, we were never acknowledged or approached. After waiting for some time, I went inside and spoke with the owner, Adolf. He came out to our table and briefly discussed menu options with us. I asked specifically about the fish and chips, as we were told some dishes were no longer available due to an earlier rush. He said he would go check on that for me--but he never returned. Fifteen minutes later, we still had not received any service. When the waitress came back onto the patio again, I called her over and asked when we might be helped. She told me she "did not see us there," which I found difficult to believe given the size of the patio. After that interaction, she did not return to take our order. I went back inside and spoke with the owner again, this time clearly frustrated. He looked me directly in the eyes, raised both hands, and said, "You can calm down now." He repeated it in a tone that felt condescending and dismissive. I responded, "Thank you for giving me permission to calm down," and at that point, I turned around, walked out, and left with my friend to dine elsewhere. I cannot comment on the quality of the food because we were never served. I can comment on the service, which was extremely poor. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the service a zero. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to The Velvet Quarter.

The fries are also well seasoned and tasty. Highly recommend. I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Chicken. This was absolutely fantastic. Served over a bed of sauteed serrano slaw (which was amazing, I usually don't like slaw), this delightful concoction was stuffed with cream cheese spinach artichoke and cream cheese with a balsamic glaze over the top. It comes with very good mashed potatoes. I don't like most restaurants potatoes, so that's a bonus win. Really enjoyed, would get it again. The beer! They have a really good menu that rotates. They have local craft brews, in addition to your standard domestics. They also have ciders for those that don't fancy a beer. Our last visit I had a Belgian Tripel, and a Pumpkin Stout. Delish! A great spot for a lunch or chill dinner. Plenty of tv space for games. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I…read morechecked out their newest location, in Webster, for the second half of the UT and A&M football game. Despite having a large parking lot, their parking lot was completely full. I circled around multiple times before parking illegally. It was a busy night but part of the problem is a section of the parking lot is valet only. For regular parking. I really hate when places do this. Two thumbs down for the parking set-up. Luckily, once I made my way inside, things got better. McIntyre's is a huge bar. They have a spacious patio but we sat inside. There are plenty of TVs which make it a great spot to watch sports. And they even have a mini food court! I didn't eat but I noticed that one of the two spots serves Mexican fare. My buddy had some loaded fries with al pastor that looked incredible. He said it was good. I stuck with some beers. You'll find your usual assortments of cocktails, beer, and wine here. It's a full bar. Another pet peeve of mine? Cops are the door. It just kind of kills the vibe a little bit when there's a police officer staring at people. Not that anyone was up to no good but it's kind of like drinking while your grandma is watching. Just a little awkward. McIntyre's is comparable to Little Woodrows in the area. They're both huge sports bars with spacious patios. With that being said, I think Little Woodrows offers the better overall experience.

My next two orders of Diet Coke were both served as Rum and Cokes. The waitress didn't offer to go get the right drink. I get you are busy, but it'd be great to have the right drink over 2 hours please. That's the only complaint. The food is ok. The outside area is great. Thanks
