**This is a 3.5 star review based on a to-go order.** I'm a sucker for old school Americanized Chinese food, and this place hit the spot on a recent Tuesday. I don't get across the bridge very often, but I knew that this joint is a beloved local dive with good food. So I took the bait and experienced quick, accurate, and polite service. This place is not expensive, but I'm still not used to paying over $10 for lunch. (My problem. Not the restaurant's.) The egg rolls here are decent. I'm willing to bet that they aren't rolled in-house, since they aren't the short, fat versions that are overstuffed with cabbage. The fried rice is average, but fine. The General Tso's Chicken is seasoned very nicely and came out hot and fresh. My only issue is they actually use white meat! This is actually a great thing for 99% of the population, but I'm a dark meat guy. Finally, the hot and sour soup here is way above average, with velvety strands of egg, crunchy bamboo shoots, fresh mushrooms and a broth that someone actually gave some attention to. If I lived or worked around the corner, I'd very likely be the Yelp Duke of this place. Their recipes are really solid, and the service is spot on. read more

This was easily one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. The food was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, the sesame chicken was crispy, and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, and everything came out incredibly fast. About halfway through my meal, I started farting aggressively, but honestly that just meant I was enjoying myself. Right after I finished my food, I pulled out a chunk of plutonium and started consuming plutonium. The meal was so good that it felt like the natural next course. Nobody questioned it, and I appreciated the judgment-free atmosphere. The décor was nice too. There was a little sailboat tucked away that made me think, "Ahoy there, Dean," for reasons I can't quite explain. Overall, outstanding food, great service, and an unforgettable dining experience. I stopped by Pineapple Xpress on a whim and ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken. The combination of savory rice, tender chicken, vegetables, and sweet pineapple worked surprisingly well without making the dish overly sweet. I also tried one of their spring rolls, which were crisp and a nice start to the meal. The portions were generous, and I ended up taking some of the rice home for later. read more

First time here and based on the description, I ordered the Shrimp Butter Simmer, thinking I would have a nice sauce to eat with my rice. When I opened my rice container, I was so disappointed that it was fried rice and I forgot to specify white. I was again disappointed in seeing a dish of fried shrimp atop some peppers and onions. I just wasn't feeling like anything fried. It would have been nice to know that the shrimp was fried. However; that is where my disappointment ends. This dish was so delicious and I'm actually glad to have tried it. Everything tasted fresh. The fried rice actually complimented this dish nicely. Very rude manager. I could hear him from the back of the kitchen complaining to the cashier that I removed avocado from my sushi (I'm allergic HELLO) . THIS PLACE IS SCAMMING YOU! The prices are different from the menu you they give you at the front. They charge you extra at the register. They also charge you extra for using your card (UM ILLEGAL) the place is very small and cramped on the inside. Cashier also charged me for the dinner combo when I said several times I wanted the lunch several times and then told me the price is the same as the lunch. (There's actually a price difference of .70 cents, I'm not worried about the cents but it's the principle of you telling me they are the same price. Also wouldn't sub veggie egg rolls for pork (bleh) so when I tried to order veggie ones since they couldn't sub it, the smallest order they can do is (4 for $6) when the first thing on the menu is clearly a single order of eggroll (1 for 1.99)don't worry about it Pineapple I'll take my money down the road and get better quality everything. read more

Service was pretty good however lol my husband, toddler and I were called "Healthy" looking I wanted to laugh so bad because that's the kind way of being called fat haha. Hands down - best "everything on the menu"! Should you find yourself in Baytown , across the street from Lee College is a little piece of heaven - coined after one of my favorite movie, not really, Pineapple Express is so good and I haven't had any complaints any time I've eaten here. Food was o.k. Service was good. Spring rolls were adequate, but not great. Prawns used were not as fresh as I would like them and very large for the spring roll. Disclaimer: I have not been inside the restaurant, take-out only I have ordered from Pineapple Xpress a few times now and it's SO GOOD. They are inexpensive, fresh, and generous portions! I have tried their eggrolls and chicken with broccoli lunch which were fabulous. It reminds me of my grandfather's cooking and he owned a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown years ago! Their eggrolls are probably the best I've had since my grandfather's and I recommend anyone trying this place to order! Definitely will continue to support this place! read more

Service & ambiance was good. I ordered my food online and was ready 10 minutes later super fast and delicious.

This place has excellent sushi! It's fresh and made to order, so friggin good! The regular entrees are very good as well as the appetizers. My husband and I order from here at least once a week. This is my favorite Chinese place ever. I'll be honest. I've never have stepped a foot inside their doors because I've always done drive thru and delivery. I can vouch for their food... it's amazing. Yes, this restaurant used to be the old Jack in the box (don't let this discourage you) but it is GOOD Chinese food. The egg rolls are amazing. My husband who has never tasted an egg roll that he liked, loved the ones from here. House Lo-mein is good (personally I think they lack on shrimp) and can definitely feed more than one person Cream Cheese Puffs are my go to and I always order them from here when I visit. They used to fold them in the "star" shape which I preferred but the taste hasn't changed. The Shaggy Dog is my favorite. I've tried other restaurants and I always compare to Pineapple Express. This is one of my favorite easy to go places for lunch during my work hours. Their sushi is the BOMB! The staff is so friendly and awesome! They truly care that you are well satisfied and they make sure your dining in well. Place: This use to be the old Jack in the box, it's small but when you're taking a bite out of their food who cares , Pineapple Express' food is so delicious! We've ordered delivery several times from Pineapple Express and we've always been pleased. Their food is delicious, served freshly made and hot. My favorites are the fried dumplings and the "everything " fried rice. The dumplings, especially are to die for! They're stuffed with a tasty pork filling, then steamed and finally fried to brown them. The fried rice is loaded with ingredients and can be a meal by itself. read more

I guess this use to be a pizza spot, but they changed it to Chinese food, and sushi. The overall appearance of the place was good. Dining area was clean, and well organized. The lady who took my order barely knew anything about the menu. Do not know if she was new or what, but that was not a big deal to me. All in all the food was decent. My husband and I liked this place! Someone told us it had finally opened, and after running by the library, we stopped in. I'll be honest -- some of the pizzas looked like they'd been sitting under the warmer for a while... BUT, it's 3:30pm! Sure it's not like that during peak hours. We were the only ones in the place. Kid behind the counter was sweet & knowledgable, and explained everything for us... To include, "What are pineapple fries?" and he said, "They're this wonderful delicacy of...regular fries." Hilarious. :) We both got the stuffed supreme pizza (check out the photos), and I ain't fidna lie -- it was HUUUUGE. Our decision on pizza selection may or may not have been influenced at all by what didn't look old... Haha. But the stuffed pizza did look amazing. We probably would have selected that, anyway. Two drinks, two slices of heaven. We loved it. The dining room is small but clean, and have I mentioned they have a drive-thru? Oh, and the pizza dipping sauce? They have several choices (four or five?), and we both got the tomato -- aaahhhhmazing. We couldn't tell if they used that same sauce to make the pizza with, but we're hoping so! We have high hopes for this place, and plan to try it again. Not saying it's the best pizza in Baytown, but it's pretty damn good. Reserving my last star for trying other slices! read more

Your typical roadside, inexpensive Asian food restaurant. Not that impressive, but I needed a lunch and it was decent.

I have gotten the shaggy dog, shrimp lomein, and the shrimp fried rice they're so good I'm never disappointed!
