Let me tell you!! Omg found a very cute, chill and tasty place for sushi!!! Menu is different and I like that for sure!!! The spicy tuna nachos are the bomb!!!! Ask for those, don't miss tasting them because they are so good!!!! We made this out spot and have tried several sushi's and I finally had the time to share my experience so people can come!!!! Cajun roll is very big and fills you up so much!!! Try it too!!! The warm scallops just seasoned to perfection are very good!! They literally melt in your mouth!!! The background music sets a chill ambiance and the privacy of booths are so nice!!! I love it!!! We tried Cajun edamame and let me say it can be better!!! This is a cute, initmate spot in the middle of the Baytown square. I think the spot was really cute and the waitresses were very sweet. However, the food was just really underwhelming. Caterpillar roll: This is pretty good. I thought the decor was cute and kooky. I think it was eel inside, which was a really good favor. It just had a little too much cream cheese. Grasshopper roll (?): I am not sure if this was the correct name but this roll was just...not it. The rice to meat ratio was so big that I literally just had to pick off the rice. It was deep fried on the outside which made it very hard to eat. It was also swimming in some type of sauce that felt really unnecessary. read more

We were working near the square, in Baytown, and happened to come in and give this place a try. First off, I always sit at the sushi bar; especially if it's a few of us. Depending on how much we like the place, maybe a big party as well will sit there. It's the only way to connect with the sushi chef. Our chef that night, Thomas, was quiet and was working below my sight. It had me a bit worried that I couldn't see the actual work, but that was the best part... I told Thomas what I liked and he said that he would make me a sushi dish that is not on the menu and has no name. We chatted while he worked (I couldn't see any of it) as I waited for my plate and my friends to arrive. My friends came and then Thomas brought up a freaking masterpiece! (See pic and video). My friends immediately jumped on the same bandwagon and ordered to their likings and not from the menu. The place wasn't crowded and we had Thomas' full attention. Holy mackerel! All of them looked amazing and tasted to match! I told Thomas that Baytown doesn't deserve him! Please prove me wrong and visit this amazing place and ask if Thomas is there. This place is a hidden gem and I do take my sushi seriously so I was impressed. Pro tip; don't expect Indy pit crew speed. I wasn't personally as impressed as some of the reviews I saw before deciding to come here instead Of somewhere else for out of town sushi. It was solid but not special on my trip. I posted pics of my rolls. No special displays like I saw in the pics posted here. And when I asked what rolls were favorites and I even expressed I ate sushi often and everywhere and wanted to know what was special HERE, the waitress said the Rainbow roll?! Ook. I ended up with a safe bet, Alaskan, and a special one called the Kiss My Bass Roll -- has seabass on top. Very average. Not bad. I also had yellowtail sashimi. It was solid! Let's get away from food. Everyday has happy hour seemingly tonight I had 2 $4 glasses of wine --so that did not suck. Service was attentive, a bit rushed as I was one of two tables here around 530pm, and she had my check before my sushi or my wine was even finished---had she not rushed me I'd prob have ordered another glass while I wrote this lol. Music. Awful. We'll be prepared for cheesy 90-80s. If that's your thing while eating sushi cool but I don't want to "party like it's 1999" or "celebrate good times" unless I'm 99 drinks in....at a bar much drunker. Overall. Found this place off Yelp while I was in Baytown (leaving the gym) saw that it had good reviews. Now that I've gone, I concur! It's in old Baytown near the square, easy parking even on a Saturday night. There was no wait, surprisingly, and the noise level was average with some good, hit music playing. I ordered the Cajun roll and the Cayabunga roll. Both were good, but the Cayabunga roll stole the show. The Cajun roll wasn't spicy like I thought it would be and the scallops weren't very tasty or texturized. It is a baked roll, so I guess I could expect that. Overall it just doesn't taste what I think of when I think "Cajun." The Cayabunga is one I would order over and over! My date had the seaweed salad, presentation and flavor were nice but the martini glass it came in kept the portion on the small side. I'd rather more seaweed salad and less spring mix in the bottom. I also had the gyoza/dumplings. They are fried, fully. Flavor and sauce it comes with is good - just good. I'm more of a steamed dumpling with a little pan sear rather than a fried dumpling We didn't have the drinks but I'm sure we will be back. This place was great. Also, the service was awesome. The service here is so terrible and the food might be okay but way over priced. Not only is the staff super rude, they take way too long to bring anything out even if we can see that the food is ready to be served. Every time we come here there is some sort of smoke or fumes in the restaurant that makes dining so unpleasant. The fumes literally irritate our eyes and have us coughing. My only complaint is that they don't open sooner. We were forced to go next door and have some ice cream because we had heard such good things about this place but they didn't open till 5! Bummer. We started with a brutal game of checkers because they offer free games while you eat and two appetizers; the spring rolls and the potstickers. I can't say enough about both of them! The potstickers were so crispy and delicious and the sauce that accompanied it was a perfect addition. The spring rolls were also crispy and flaky and made fresh to order. So good! We decided on the Vegas Roll and the Aye Carumba Roll. The Vegas Roll was flash fried so I decided not to share that with my husband but holy cow, did it look fantastic! My "Aye Carumba" roll was probably the best sushi roll I've ever had. It was topped with fresh avocado which was a nice touch. They had a small craft beer selection but nothing crazy. Y'all... I can not make this shit up. Keep in mind we have a 2 and 1 year old with us. We got there and ordered two beers and a saki bomb set up... 20 minutes goes by and we have two beers with zero sake. We ordered our food. We received half our food and the waitress asks if we would like to order anything else... meanwhile we hadn't received our bang bang shrimp tacos or our two children's food. 15 minutes goes by and we still haven't gotten our other food so we ask for the check. She brings me the check but held on to it and doesn't put it on the table. So I asked if she took off the food that we did not recieve and she said yes so I gave her my card. 5 minutes later she comes back and says the card machine is down and asked if we had cash. We did not so she said it would be a few minutes before the machine booted back up. 25 MINUTES LATER.... I asked for my card back and she gave it back to me so we walked out. The manager comes running out asking if we paid. I said ya she took my card and gave it back so I thought we were good to go. He said she never charged it so he needed the card back. So I gave it back and told him he had 5 minutes to bring it back cause we were ready to go at this point. 2 MINUTES LATER... he brings my card back and says we r good to go. My card sends me notifications when it's charged and I never got anything with how much they charged so I went back in to get an itemized receipt. Confronted them about not seeing the charge... THEY SAID THEY WROTE MY CARD INFO DOWN ON A PIECE OF PAPER so they could charge it when the machine came back on without my signature or anything.... So I told them that was illegal without authorization and the waitress proceeded to tell me that walking out on a tab was illegal.... When I had gave her my card to pay twice and got it back from them twice. She then proceeded to call me a "bitch ass hoe" and said she would "throw hands with me" in the middle of the restaurant as her manager is pushing her out of the back door. Y'all ..... this place has gone wayyyy down hill. read more

I was truly shocked today i introduced my Texas buds to something they have never tried sushi and sake.I don't know why the concept that sushi is bait and it's raw and not edible to eat. They wanted to grab a bite to eat in the area.My first and favorite pick was Wazabi Sushi since it is within walking distance from our main hang out. I placed the order which consisted of the starter with California rolls,Philly rolls,and some grasshopper rolls which they really enjoyed since its made with a kick jalapenos,cream cheese,spicy tuna with flash fried. The second order consisted of some of my other favorites dishes island style poke and the spicy tuna nachos.My friends loved every thing. Tried this place with another couple recently. No complaints about the food, as everything we ordered was good. But we found it strange how everything came to the table randomly, so there was no flow to the drinks/appetizer/dinner. Two main courses came out before 2 of our appetizers, and the other two main courses came out after we had pretty much done and not in the mood for the late food. Our server disappeared several times. She missed out on at least one round of drinks. We asked another server to get us something that was close by, she said ok, but instead she waited until our server reappeared and told her to get it, which was way too late. They were not busy, so I'm not sure about their systems. Bad service ruins good food. read more
