I really disappointed at this place. I went today and I ordered the combination fried rice and combination chow mein and some other stuff but I don't really like the noodles and the rice taste so hard and the flavor was horrible. The noodles taste nasty and I just didn't like it and also as soon as I walked in the Asian lady she's kind of rude and disrespectful so I do not recommend it. My wife and I have been coming here for years and it is one of the few restaurants that I will order different meals because there are so many great options. One of my favorites is the shrimp with lobster sauce, they make it the way I like it with a lot of shrimp and sauce! The wonton soup is very good, and the bento boxes are excellent and very reasonably priced. The owner is always there and runs a tight ship. This place is a great option for pick up too. read more

Charmin Café in Crosby, Texas was a pleasant surprise. Again it was another one of these very nice restaurants set in a strip shopping center that's easy to overlook. Charming Café has both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. They sushi of several varieties; but they also have eggrolls, sweet-and-sour chicken and king pao chicken. The place is small, but not tiny. It's very unpretentious, but comforting. My wife had a selection off the lunch menu that featured, sweet-and-sour chicken, salad, fried rice , egg roll and crab puffs all for under nine dollars. I had the spicy Kung pao chicken, that is a house specialty with steamed rice. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive and the food came out hot and quickly . Well this place is so convenient to me it's hard to pass up . It's good sushi not great by far . But, they know me when I call. The part I am irritated over is one they almost always get my order wrong. I've ordered a handroll twice with my orders and I have yet to get a handroll, always a regular roll, and rolls are small. read more

Checked out this spot while visiting some family in town. We were greeted and sat immediately in a cozy booth. There are also tables and a high top table by the sushi bar. We ordered drinks and started with the chicken egg roll as an appetizer. We both enjoyed the egg roll and then it was on to the main course. Hubby ordered his usual chicken and broccoli with fried rice. I ordered the Mongolian beef with steamed rice. Both dishes were flavorful, however, the beef was a little spicier than I'm accustomed to. Overall we had great service and great food at a reasonable price. I've been coming to Charming Cafe for a few years now and I've tried to find better alternatives and failed miserably. The service here is great, the owner will remember your order if order the same thing over and over and if you call your order in, it will always be ready when you arrive. The sushi is pretty good, I love the shaggy dog and ofcourse the basic California roll and Philadelphia roll. Don't recall trying any other roll here. My usual order consists of the special fried rice and edemame. The rice here is just perfect!! I've tried the kung pao chicken and the general TSO and both are very tasty. The servings are fairly decent and if you order to go they are even more generous. Definitely my favorite Chinese food place to date. read more

We've been back multiple times and I have tried numerous things. The sushi is still good, we like Tokyo Maki, & Crunchy Maki. I enjoy their Beef & Broccoli with fried rice. It's always fresh and delicious. Their chicken fried rice is good and their General Tso's is good as well. As apps go we like their pan fried dumplings, crab Rangoon and egg rolls. Ordered the humble roll and the 2100 roll. Both were inedible. I only took one bite of each and sent it back. These rolls were $12+ each and the manager refused to take them off of our ticket. She didn't even speak to us directly, she just had the waiter tell us "no". Despite the fact that we ordered additional $50+ worth of food and drinks for the table. Last time me and my wife ate here the service was great and so was the place. It's like if you don't see what's in this little area where they're at; you'll miss them. With the close down of China Ko this place should get even more business I hope because it's a nice place. Just sucks that we're in Mont Belvieu so it would be a drive. Being that I live in Crosby and there are just days that I don't feel like driving into Houston when I have a sushi craving I go to Charming Café. I've been several times since they opened this little café in a strip center. I know what you're thinking... STRIP CENTER SUSHI... NO WAY!!! But don't let the location fool you. The sushi is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had... but I can say with 100% uncertainty that it's the best I've ever had in Crosby. ;) I am kind of a wimpy sushi eater... most of the items that I order are cooked. Once in a while I'll go for some tuna or salmon. And I always order soy paper. My order usually consists of a shaggy dog and a California roll. Both have been spot on every time I order them. I even have special requests and they've always gotten my order right. I usually also order a appetizer of the pan fried dumplings which are also very good. I cannot speak for the other items on the menu because all I ever order is sushi, but my husband has ordered off the menu and hasn't ever complained about anything he's ever ordered... but that's not saying much because he's not a picky eater at all. I'd say... if you're ever in Crosby and have a craving for sushi, give this little place a try. You'll get good food for a decent price. read more

We are new in Crosby and my husband loves trying out new Chinese places but because I'm picky with it, I hate being disappointed but I gave in and ordered. It was pretty good.
