China Ko restaurant is a hidden gem in Crosby in the true sense. The restaurant itself is located behind a buildings in a strip shopping Center. The only indication that they are here is a street sign off of FM 2100 Near Highway 90. This is the first time I've been to this location. In the past, I've been to other locations and enjoyed the experience. However, I learned this location since Covid no longer has a buffet. So everything is ordered off a menu. Everything we tried from the won ton soup, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and fried shrimp seemed to be made to order. They were all hot, fresh and delicious. I'd heard not to many complementary things about this location in the past. I was told they now has new management with a new attitude. I would have to agree. Love there won ton soup cause they have the crispy fried wonton strips. If I could get charming to get the crispy fried wonton strips that would be preferable. They have great service but always smells like bleach. The entrees to me weren't as good as charming and they also didn't have the ginger dressing for the salad. This is a really nice restaurant and it has been Crosby for many decades. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they have a buffet anymore. However, this ensures the food is fresh. The prices are good, and the food is great. Definitely better than most Chinese restaurants. I did notice that the prices at the Beltway 8 location were about 20 percent less. However, I think that location might be closed down. Anyway, I believe this is one of the better Chinese restaurants around for the price. This is about China Ko in Crosby off of 2100. China Ko one of one of my family's favorite places to eat! When I visit Crosby, it's a must. We like to go for lunch to get one of the lunch specials, which is an incredible amount of delicious food for a reasonable price. It includes soup (I got hot and sour, and my parents got wonton), egg roll, chicken fried rice (a meal in itself), and your entree of choice. The staff is friendly and attentive. We like the atmosphere, too, because it doesn't feel like a fast food place. We got moo goo guy pan, and I took home Mongolian beef. So yummy! read more

This place is just... different. For what it's worth, they don't seem to care what anyone thinks of them. It's like they're not even concerned about losing business--like the restaurant would still be here even if no one ever ate there. The whole vibe suggests they're not relying on steady revenue to keep the lights on. Just look at it: the place is massive, almost eerily large, and yet somehow nearly always empty. Complain about the staff all you want--there never seems to be any consequence, like management just shrugs it off. It's as if making money isn't the real point of the operation. They do just enough to qualify as a restaurant, but that's about it. It's hidden away off the main road, and for years their only sign was blocked by trees. There's no real advertising, no social media push, no effort to draw people in. If you dig a little deeper, you'll find they're actually in a legal battle with the county over taxes--but they're the ones suing, not being sued. It checks all the boxes of a money laundering front. That said--I HIGHLY recommend this place. Just don't touch the buffet. Stick with the made-to-order takeout--it's absolutely fire. I'd give it five stars, but I know they couldn't care less about stars. Also, they got rid of the chicken wings (my personal favorite), and when I asked about it, the staff wasn't rude, just... indifferent. Good food, on Sunday Mother's Day. We had a big party, the staff took our orders quickly. Food quality was good, taste of meals was good. This is a great spot to have big groups to meat. We will returning in the future. read more

I live very close to this china ko location. I order the same thing everytime. I order the Wor Wonton Soup, delicious, but the last two times i got this soup there was very shrimp and steak. Been in Crosby over a year now, never once thought to try this place! And Wow I'm glad I did! The price wasn't bad at all but what impressed me was how well everything tasted! Like it's not bland flavored or seasoned like most buffets! There egg rolls can be ate without sweet & sour sauce! The seasoning on the noodles was sooooo good the sweet n sour sauce was different then any other and everything we ate was just delicious and I can't say it enough seasoned Very WELL! Went to China Ko in Crosby today. Food and service were exceptional as always. We went early but we were the only table in there tonight. I LOVE THIS PLACE, we have so many good memories if family dinners and after church luncheons here. The food never dissapoints. It is sad that business has fallen off. We were hungry and drove by here. The lunch price is good. I'm not a big buffet eater, but this was meh. I had the sushi (cooked) rolls. All but the one w the sauce is good. Didn't care for it. Spring rolls are good. I had the white rice, literally a piece or two to try: pepper chicken, kung pao chicken, red pepper flake chicken and pepper beef. Of those, I preferred the kung pao chicken. I had tea. Lunch service was slow so I didn't get a refill. But it took me the entire meal time to finish it. I don't think we'll be back. Was clean and the food on the buffet thingys were clean and I wasn't "scared" of trying anything. Was a well spent $7.50 for the lunch buffet. Clean restrooms. No baby changing table. read more

I definitely do not recommend this place. The quality of the food has definitely gone way way down !!! When I was younger, this was the best place to get Chinese. Now everytime I go. I feel very very sick and it's sad to see such an old childhood Chinese restaurant that I loved go down. The wait staff is awesome, but alas I'm going there to eat not to be pampered. The Steam tables are always on at this buffet restaurant with lots of variety for everyone to be able to eat their fill. This was the worse place I ever eat ..when we drove up to the building I didn't want to go in my husband said give it a chance we open door and dirt was right inside where it hasn't been dusted in awhile the food it a buffet and the food was cold and some taste like it had been there for a few days and was reheated.. the food quality has gone way down. dirty and run down place. drink order was wrong and was just going to deal with it then i got some chicken teriyaki that was so dry my knife could not cut it. i could tell it was old mind you it was only noon. so that means it was from the night before. my wife and i decided not to eat and went to the counter to talk to management. informed them of problems and she got defensive telling me how great they are and that they been there 40 years and billed me for 27 dollars and change. i paid bill even though i shouldn't have. even the tooth pick holder on counter was held together with black electric tape. what a dump. i don't know how the health inspector has not shut them down. read more
