Veggies and produce are always so fresh. There hasn't been anything in the menu that i have disliked!

This place was one of the worst I have been to. I regretted deeply once I ordered the food. We actually are so nice, I didn't even cancel it, just took it home and didn't eat it... I felt bad but it was so unsanitary. For starters. The servers are on their phones eating while serving and allllll touching the same disgusting door to enter and exit the kitchen. You can see so many nasty splatter marks on the door I was appalled. The chef (what I assume) then walked out. Used the restroom with an apron on, and then when I seen him remove it he was covered in paint covered clothing as if he just left a drywall job. I didn't take any photos unfortunately. Bamboo China has been a go-to spot for years. They are pretty consistent with their service, recipes, and prices. Today, I ordered Singapore Mein Fun with extra curry and spicy. The dish didn't hit it. The noodles were perfectly cooked and plenty of protein . Every other element of the dish failed by leaps and bounds. There wasn't a hint of curry spice, greasy, no bell peppers or bean sprouts. It was TOO salty!!! I will still frequent Bamboo China but with just not a to-go order. read more

Ambiance is casual, it was pretty quiet in here today. The service was great and the food was awesome. I ordered the spicy chicken soup and it was delicious. Plenty of chicken and noodles with some vegetables. I also ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein and my friend had Chicken Lo Mein. Plentiful and delicious. Not many shrimp but still tasty. I like coming here for the lunch specials. Well worth the prices and plenty of food. I had the Jasmine hot tea and it was good. I recommend coming here but one plate is usually enough for two people. I've been coming here since my high school days and it never disappoints. The food here always delivers in taste and flavor! The service can vary depending on the hour but overall it's good. The seating can be limited since the space isn't big so prepare to wait a while if it's rush hour. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with a beautiful aroma. The place was PACKED! While I stood in line to place my order, more and more customers kept walking in and joining the line--this place was seriously busy. The menu is extensive, but I kept it simple with a chicken and broccoli platter, fried rice, and chicken fried dumplings. The chicken and broccoli in brown sauce was SUPER amazing--I inhaled the platter. The fried rice was perfectly cooked, and the chicken dumplings were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. No exaggeration, this is the best Chinese food I've had in my life. You MUST come try this place! read more

The gem here is the lunch special - you can get a good amount of food for a very reasonable price. My go-to is the general tso's chicken with white rice, wonton soup, and it also comes with an egg roll. It always is a hit! If you visit when the lunch special is not available, the experience is still enjoyable but you'll get less items but with bigger portions. I've tried quite a few things over the years and haven't had a bad time. The inside is clean, a little small and you can feel it when it's busy but it's never uncomfortable. Had not been eating here for a while because the food had become rather bland and tasteless. However we ordered takeout the other day and we were pleasantly surprised and impressed with what we ordered. The hot & sour soup had some kick to it and my Chicken and broccoli was very good and tasty. My wife's orange chicken had big pieces of chicken and she said very good. She said her fried rice was nice Little spring rolls are still pretty tasteless but ok for the lunch price menu. Bad service on cashiers today's date! She taking order of mine coming home,!open and some soup missing. Call her back she said she will give me back 10% for next time! That's not the way to handle it! Could I speak to a manager? Or supervisor, she said she is!! I said I want speak to the owner, she said the owner no speak English and can't talk because no voice. I recently tried Bamboo China Cafe in Houston for Chinese takeout, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. When we walked into the restaurant to pick up our food, the smell was incredible. Originally, I had ordered just for myself because my husband doesn't usually like Chinese food. However, he changed his mind when he smelled the food, so we added an order for him. This meant waiting a bit longer, but it was totally worth it. We both ordered beef and broccoli with white rice. It was absolutely delicious. I have been coming here for years, today I decided to order beef with asparagus and after almost finishing my plate I noticed something strange. After moving it around for a bit I realized it was a roach, I didn't want to cause a scene so I went to the front to tell them discreetly, and they still expected me to pay for the meal. Threatened me that if I didn't pay they were going to post a picture of me for not paying. I have notified the Houston Health Department. I really hope they go check it out, because if you know roaches if there's one there's plenty more. read more

Not sure what took me so long to write a review on my favorite Chinese spot in town but I'll make it short. I'm somewhat of a (self proclaimed) crab rangoon connoisseur and these are easily my favorite in town. Perfectly fried and filled to the brim with cream cheese. Their General Tso's chicken is delicious and has just the right amount of kick to it while their BBQ ribs are very underrated with a lot of meat and a great sweet and tangy sauce. Ok tried this place last week and man the food is really good. The portions are good the ambience is ok, place is pretty clean. Now the only issue was the service. So for our first time there, I asked the waitress what is there specialty, now I now today's service has changed but still you would think they would at least try. Her answer was and I quote "'mmm.. nothing" we both kind of laughed thinking she was joking, so I said what is good or what do you suggest? "I don't know" "I have only tried the chicken items and it was good" I guess she was honest to say the least but was kind of left a little confused. Anyways I ordered sesame chicken, wife ordered the kung pao chicken, we stayed on the chicken side since we did not know what to expect. I also ordered a hot and sour soup. Food came out and was delicious, good presentation, good portions, a few minutes went by out of drinks, and needed more napkins and our waitress not sure where she was. My first visit here, I always forget its here just past Wilson rd on betway 8 only because I live near crosby. I now know why its considered in the 10 most desired place to eat Chinese food. My wife had the orange chicken, it came in fried small chicken breast strips with a delicious orange sauce with some great aroma and most authentic orange taste. I had a more traditional sweet and sour chicken the nuggets were big and also tossed with a genuine home made sweet n sour red sauce non-spicy like I like it. The portions and plate size were substantial, the food was freshly cooked. To me my sweet and sour chicken won the prize. I had no qualms leaving with extra food in my to go containers for later only because I was so full and satisfied. Please go here if you want a stepped up Chinese Cuisine. Service was horrible!! My son and I walked in and ordered 2 boba drink. We as we where waiting 3 different party walked in and got service right away. One dine in, second ordered food and the last one order drinks. By this time they called us up are drinks are ready. I noticed are drinks didn't have the boba which I paid for, which it extra. When I told them it's missing they said I had to paid extra. So show them my receipt. She got an attitude and sighed. She said ok give me the drinks. I waited another 15 - 20 mins. The Chinese restaurant that I grew up with since the age of 7 closed their doors permanently after Hurricane Harvey. My parents are still waiting to find another restaurant that compares to Peking Chef. On one of my weekend visits to Houston, I picked up dinner for my parents. I ordered pork fried rice for me and shrimp egg foo young for my parents. I have picked up dinner from here twice and my parents like it but they are not crazy about the gravy. My pork fried rice was good. If you ask for extra eggs and like your eggs chopped in your rice, you should mention this when ordering. If not, you will receive a egg on top of your rice. I would definitely pick up dinner from here in the future but I will continue my search to find a place that my parents enjoy. They are open during Covid-19 but only for take out. read more

Came in around 12:40, I expected it to be busy since it's the lunch hour.. it was but they were getting people in & out quickly.. i was seated within 5 mins at a nice clean corner table with a view of the TV (tamron hall show was showing.. I've never seen it but it's appropriate for this time of day) my waitress was attentive & friendly.. i told her i wanted a lunch combo but wasn't sure which one so she brought my egg roll & requested soup w/my drink while I figured it out.. the hot & sour soup hit the spot! Not the type to ever leave bad reviews, but this was needed. The hostess with multicolored hair, slight lazy eye, and glasses was unnecessarily rude. I myself work in the industry and there is no reason to act so maliciously towards paying customers, especially when they haven't been disrespectful towards you in anyway. The food itself is good, but this girl just ruins the experience of it all. I've been there a few times the last couple weeks and every single time she has the same attitude, if you don't like your job that bad find a new one, or get something outside of customer service because it's clearly not for you. read more

This is a little hidden gem on the Eastside of Houston. They have some of the best cream puffs & have awesome lunch specials. As far as Chinese food goes, this is one of the best on this side of town. Seating is cozy and service is good. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more
