I guess they have been here 2 1/2 years and we never noticed it. We gave it a try and the food did not disappoint. Portions were not small so being able to take home leftovers is also a plus for us. Looking for some authentic Chinese and Lucky Dumpling did not disappoint. Ivy was our waitress and she was awesome. Didn't get pics but we ordered Spring rolls and hot and sour soup. The soup is the best in Montgomery county. For entrees, my sister ordered General Tso's chicken with the hand drawn noodles and I had beef and broccoli with fried rice. The hand drawn noodles were so good. Next time I will forgo rice for noodles. I give Lucky Dumpling a 9.5 out of 10 only because the spring roll filling was a bit mushy for my taste. We went there with somewhat low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. I don't eat American Chinese food and the dishes we ordered (tofu, noodles, and bok choy) were tasty, not too salty, and vegetables fresh. Made an order last week it was great. Introduced my husband to it on Saturday and they delivered someone else's order. They would not refund it but told me to dispute credit card charge. They said our food was ready and did not offer to deliver it to us. We ended ordering from another restaurant. Order Sunday and they didn't follow cooking instructions that were clear. Ordered Tuesday and my credit card was charge for more items than I purchased but the receipt reflected what they delivered. What I ordered on the credit card was the correct order. Called and spoke to manager and her suggestion was to take $8.00 for missing items. I guess all the other times they messed up don't count for anything. Came in for lunch on a Sunday. First thing we noticed was that there was a sewage smell. Hoping it was from outdoors and out of their control. Looking at the menu, there were a few Americanized-Chinese foods but a lot of it was stuff you would find in Chinatown. Braised Sliced Beef Hand Drawn Noodle Soup $13.95 This was a spicy beef noodle soup. The broth is spicier than usually but I liked it. The beef was plentiful and super soft. On the menu, they have a full informational page about Lan Zhou noodles, which led me to believe that they make and hand pull their noodles in house. I don't believe that is the case and they just use packaged noodles. Nevertheless, great dish for the price. Boiled Fish with Pickled Cabbage Chili $18.95 Sour soup with a white fish (probably tilapia) and veggies. Little spicy, very tangy, just what the wife was craving on a windy day. I thought the price was a tad high for what we got but still hit the spot for my wife and that's what matters most. Spicy Pork Garlic Sauce $16.95 I couldn't tell if this dish was authentic Chinese or Americanized Chinese, but in the end, as long as it tastes good, does it really matter? The pork was sweet and soft and well seasoned. Great dish and something very easy to get if you have folks who want to try something new but are still cautious. Stir Fried Green Beans $14.95 Standard except we got this dish cooled down. Felt like someone else ordered and then cancelled it about 15 minutes before we arrived so then we got it. Flavor was good, temperature and freshness not so much. This is one of the few Chinese joints around the area with more than just General Tso's Chicken/Lo Mien/Orange Chicken. Why 4 stars? Because it satisfied the need but we weren't overwhelmed. --- --- --- I was excited to see a new Chinese restaurant come to the area. More excited to see that they had dim sum. And the MOST excited to see the high ratings piling in! I knew that I wanted to order the shrimp dumplings and was torn between the walnut shrimp and the beef noodles. Fortunately my wife was happy to share those with me, as long as I got a side of fried rice for her. Marriage has so many benefits. Shrimp Dumplings: 5-stars. Definitely the highlight of the meal and everything I hoped they'd be. Beef Noodles: 3.5-stars. These were fine, but I've definitely had better. The noodles were very clumpy too, which was odd. I prefer the thicker lo mein style noodles, but this got the job done. Walnut Shrimp: 3.5-stars. Similar to the noodles, these were fine. Not bad, not amazing. Truthfully, my opinion is tainted by my favorite place from Tampa having such amazing Walnut Shrimp that I'm always a little disappointed when I get it somewhere else. Fried Rice: 2.5-stars. It was so mushy that it wasn't even the texture of rice and the flavor was a little odd. Stopped by Lucky Dumpling for lunch to try a new to us place. I'm glad we did! Lucky Dumpling has really renovated. We had dined at the previous establishment & they have made it really nice in there. Great job. We were graciously greeted when we walked in and immediately seated. They weren't very busy but we're still very attentive. Pepsi products on tap. We started out with Pork Soup Buns & Fried Pork Dumplings. It was our first time having the soup buns & we fell in love. They were so delicious. Our waiter, I didn't catch his name, recommended using the chili oil. Wow! Enough heat to taste but not too overpowering. Delicious paired with the soup buns & fried dumplings. Since we got 2 "appetizers" we chose to split an entree, Honey Walnut Shrimp. Just the right amount of sweet and a tasty, beautiful batter. We have been looking for a good Asian restaurant since we moved to Montgomery County 4 years ago. The restaurant is clean, door quality is excellent and service was great. I am sorry to have to leave this review. This is NOT good food. The WonTon soup broth was a very dark brown that tasted strongly of fish. The wontons were overcooked to the point of being reduced to slime, and were filled with a tasteless, hard wad of mystery meat. On a whim we stopped at Lucky Dumpling and were seated promptly in a cozy booth across from the cute bar area that can accommodate maybe 6 people. The rest of the restaurant has a cozy feel with a few nice decorative items on the walls, but nothing portraying date worthiness or an intimate experience. Our server was attentive and was eager to provide recommendations. There could've been more variety on the Dim Sum menu, but for this area, what they offer is a good start. The hand-spun noodles had nice texture & were tasty, as well as the pork buns. Cheese puff with crab were big, light & fresh. Everything flavored well with a good balance of sweet & savoriness. It was good-decent food and a pleasant dining experience, but nothing calling us to hurry back. Would definitely consider for a good take-out. We ordered takeout from Lucky Dumpling yesterday and it was outstanding. I am a huge fan of Sichuan cuisine with the standard bearer being Mala Sichuan. The fact that we now have a Sichuan restaurant in Montgomery that can compete flavor wise with Mala is just a gift to the community. Every time I try a new Sichuan restaurant, the dish I compare them on is the Sichuan Boiled Fish Filet or at Mala its called Water Boiled Fish. Not the most appetizing name for a dish, but it is so good. Lucky Dumpling served the closest version to the Mala Sichuan version, and the fact it is 15 minutes from home versus an hour, they will be getting plenty of my business. For the other less adventurous diners in the family we also got two dumpling versions, some Shrimp Fried Rice, and Stir Fried Hand Drawn noodles. All very good!! Definitely the most authentic Chinese in the area. Went here on a Friday and it was packed! Small parties can sit easily with little wait, but if you have a large group, you'll have to wait a bit because people seem to be really excited about this new restaurant! After eating here, it's easy to see why. All the dishes we had were excellent. We tried the wontons in chili oil, pork soup dumplings, stir fried noodles with beef, general tso's chicken, and kung pao chicken. Definitely enough for 3 with a little bit to take home! All the meals were delicious, you really can't go wrong. The only note I have is that the general tso's chicken is more like an orange chicken, but it's still great and I will certainly eat it again. Next time I will go out of my comfort zone a bit because some of the less-recognized dishes looked incredible. This place does not yet seem to have their liquor license approved yet - FYI! They have a future menu they will implement with wine, beer, cocktails, and sake, but for now they can't serve anything. It didn't impede our experience, but good for you to know ahead of coming here. All in all I will definitely be coming back for more. This is about my 5th-6th time and finally remembered to write a review. We love the pan fried pork dumplings & the sauce. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was recommended to me by a "foodie" I don't like walnuts, honey on biscuits not shrimp; big mistake hubby ordered it and now we get it every time. Beef broccoli is excellent. LOVE the green beans. Beef fried rice is full of beef (personally would sacrifice a piece or two for a few more peas & carrots plus I like green onion in mine. Still good as is. This place is amazing. I would say a hidden gem but it's in a prime location on lake Conroe. The food is incredible! We've been twice now and every single dish we've ordered has been top notch (kung pao chicken, hot & spicy shrimp, salt & pepper shrimp, flaming beef, stir fried green beans, stir fried hot beef, chili oil dumplings). Brand new place, just opened a few days ago in place of old Meaux Meaux's. Our party of three tried a large variety of items and our impressions ranged from awesome to not quite good. The interior has been nicely upgraded and produced. It's now beautiful, professional, and very cohesive in design and execution. We loved the dining room as well as the renovated bar. Service started out great but when the room was half full we had trouble getting drinks refilled. Then our final order, General Tso's Chicken, took almost 40 minutes to come out from the kitchen. Excellent flavors were found in the Pork Soup Dumplings and the Shrimp Dumplings. The Hot & Sour soup is very good but lacking depth. The Braised Sliced Beef Hand Drawn Noodle Soup really is just a very mild broth, but with fantastic house-made noodles. The beef was very low quality but infused with flavor, chewy but delicious. The Stir-Fried Hand Drawn Noodle with Chicken was very good. The noodles are again the star, the sauce mild but delicious, and the chicken almost velvety soft. Unfortunately the very-late-to-arrive General Tso's Chicken had fried chicken so dense that it was difficult to get a fork into, and tough to chew. The positives way outweighed the negatives and we concluded that this is a high-quality place run by true professionals, from concept to execution, kitchen to front of house, but experiencing the inevitable start-up jitters and inconsistencies. We will return in a week or two and expect a lot of the quirks to be worked out. read more

This was my first time to eat at a place that makes dumplings, so I needed some help understanding what to do. After all, who eats soup inside of pasta? Our waiter was so wonderful. He helped us order and even told us about an off-menu dumpling. We enjoyed the dumplings a lot, and then we ordered our entree: Stir Fried Hand Drawn Noodles with Chicken. This was amazing! The noodles were so fresh and the flavor was spot on. We absolutely loved it. Plus, and restaurant was extremely clean, well-lit, and inviting. They will waste your time, give you the wrong order, tell you they will give you a discount to come back and trade for the right order and then retract their offer when you arrive back in store. My husband had General Tso's Chicken and it was good but not differential. I had another chicken dish which was spicy and had small bits of chicken. It did not appeal to me.
