This was my first time trying this restaurant. When I walked in, I noticed the lights are a little dim, but the restaurant is decorated nicely. The waiter immediately greeted me and took my order. I got a lunch special that also came with an egg roll and soup. The food was good, but the portions were small. The rice was very basic but the egg drop soup is one of the best I've ever had. At EVERY restaurant I've ever ordered egg foo young in the USA & even on other continents, you get either white rice or fried rice as an option. Not at WENG's! $12.95 cost of 3 small patties & No rice! Lastly, the 2 egg rolls were not filled fully nor were they crispy. The taste of the oil was old which gave them a not fresh taste. Service was fast and courteous, as we spent approximately 45 minutes there. We arrived before 5, just before dinner time. My husband ordered beef with broccoli and crab ragoons. I ordered general chicken with egg rolls. My husband said the beef was stretchy and fake-feeling. The gravy was flavorful and savory. Broccoli was crisp tender. Crab was perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Chicken was thickly battered...run of the mill general chicken. Wish I'd had more veggies in it. Egg rolls had HUGE globs of cabbage and made chewing them difficult to eat. Didn't finish them. Way too many places like this to return again. read more

From the moment you walk in, the pace smells like cigarette smoke, which is completely unacceptable for any restaurant. My son's broccoli beef was actually drowning in sauce, which had a distinct "mothball" taste. See pic, as it is really "over the top," and could actually be soup if it wasn't disgusting. My shrimp with lobster sauce also had a weird after taste, but wasn't totally offensive. The fried rice was a solid C, and without any flavor. So I called and ordered sweet and sour chicken to go. I ordered sweet and sour coz I known they can't go wrong with it. The first time opened my food. I'm a little skeptical about it. The sauce is watery. I know it's not freshly cooked. The chicken is flour coating is so I thick and I'm sure it's double fried. Anyway, I know how to cook a little and I've been to many chinenese restaurant. Chinese food is my comfort food. That is why I said I'm skeptical about the food just by looking at it. Sure enough, chicken is dry And tough, has no taste and too much coating, the sweet and sour are bland. Taste like it's a ready made sauce. I dont except my food to be ready within 5mins. I've only smelt this smell one time in my life when I was in the military and the sewer pipes on our boat had a backflow and started flowing onto the ship, it smells absolutely insane. The only reason this place isn't receiving a 5 star review is because of their sweet and sour shrimp. It's more of a fried shrimp than a traditional sweet and sour breading. I was craving that puffy golden brown outer coating but received butterflies shrimp dipped in breadcrumbs. Anyhow, that's my only complaint about this joint. Were in the area and did not have much choice for Chinese. Found this place about half an hour before closing which I dread at some restaurants. Fortunately, the food and service was very good. Several pick up orders But we were the only one dining in. Clean restaurant with plenty of seating. In a large mall with lots of parking. This is our Chinese go-to. Always hot & fresh whether you pick up or have delivered. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the extra $6 delivery fee (on top of the standard $3 for delivery) because I live off of League Line - just 9 miles away - (they say it's for extra gas charge.) it doesn't prevent us from ordering delivery, but that's an extra $9 (versus just $3) for delivery & then tipping the driver. Yes, it's total convenience addition, however - I feel they could still get the same result by maybe just doubling the fee to $6, instead. However I love this place!
