The food is delicious. Love that they know my order since I'm a regular. The service is good however, it can be a bit of a weight if they are busy. From what I hear they are short staffed. We were driving around trying to find a place to eat. On this side of town there is an over abundance of Mexican restaurants which was a little overwhelming to try to pick one. Then I saw Vietsub and Pho. I am so glad I did! We had egg rolls - yum! Delish and packed with flavor. I had the medium beef Pho (which was large) and my hubs had the chicken vermicelli. Both meals were very tasty and filling. Pricing is great. The place is clean and quiet. The owner and his wife were very kind. If I was just to rate the food, they would definitely get 5 stars. We had the shrimp and pork egg rolls, grilled pork spring rolls, and 2 bowls of pho, 1 large and 1 medium. The food was excellent! The place itself was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly. They even put on new gloves at our table to pack our left over egg & spring rolls. The only problem was that the service was slow. There was only 1 server so it took a while for anyone to come to us. It was obvious that the server had a long day. I had the chicken and bbq pork. It's solid and no issues. Mayo is good bread is cooked just right so it's best eaten at the store. Meats were good but didn't stand out. I also had the fried tofu with a sweet vinegar sauce. That's was good and cheap albeit the tofu was cut into really small cubes. It's really not a bad place to dine. Best Vietnamese restaurant and I've tried many! The food is delicious! You can tell it's freshly made and the quality is amazing! They serve large portions and are very affordable. Food was out pretty fast, too. The customer service is awesome! Since we came in, we were greeted and even offered a seat away from the sun. They were very kind and attentive till the moment we walked out. Normally a typical restaurant will give you the to-go soup containers but he came for our food and packed it up fully including to-go utensils and napkins. Came in around 7:30 on Friday. The place had about six tables with about 13 total customers. There was only one waitress on the floor. She was very attentive, patient and nice considering she was juggling all the tables. She clearly was trying to accommodate all of us the best she could. Clearly under staffed from the front end to the back at least on this particular occasion. As the waitress confirmed that there was only one person in the back cooking/prepping. Each table seemed to have about a twenty five to thirty minute wait time for their food. This is where I put the "So worth the wait" The food when it was actually brought to our table was spectacular from presentation to taste, It was very flavorful and filling. Hidden gem in Pasadena!!! If you love authentic pho, this is the place to go. The owner is very nice and welcoming, we chatted a bit during my first visit. I always order the veggie egg rolls and the beef pho (no meatballs, personal choice) and the entire meal was delicious. The ONLY remark I have is that I wish the staff was a little more attentive, I wish drinks could get refilled a little quicker. This does not take away any stars from my review because the quality of the food surpasses the importance of having a drink refilled. I've never tried their tea or other drinks besides water or soda but I always see people drinking them, so they must be good! read more

To say that this is the best Vietnamese food is absurd and ridiculous!! I would say it's the best in this area! The pho has been consistently wonderful and very tasty but the rice and vermicelli bowls have been less good every time I've come in there. Egg rolls and fish sauce good and standard but spring rolls and peanut sauce(my fave) have been consistently meh/average/slightly disappointing. Vietnamese sandwiches here are really good!!! Service is not too bad, however the owner, I thought was rude to me a couple of times, asking why I don't like vegetables(I love them just not with that dish!) there were huge pieces of tomato and cucumbers on the rice dish and I'd rather have it on my salad and certainly don't want to be criticized for not eating them. Had Pho and egg rolls here last week based on Yelp reviews. The reviews did not steer me wrong. Great pho. Broth was good. I know this may sound weird but their soy sauce kicked ass. (It wasn't in the typical table bottle... they brought it out in its own bowl) the egg rolls were great too. My only gripe is that they didn't bring the egg rolls out before the pho arrived. Great food, but plan on spending 2 hours to get your food and eat. On a good day it takes almost an hour to get food. They have a good menu, but the boss man will tell you that you can't order certain items unless you call it in an hour or two before you get there.
