Shrimp vegetables & fried rice Vegetables soup Hot jasmine tea

So delicious I really love this place The attention its so good The taste is so wonderful Im very pleased

What do you get cuando you mix comida de Chino, Vietnamese y un poco de comida Americano in a somewhat barrio de Latino's y Americanos que gustan comida Asiatico? You get Southmore Asian Restaurant. Si hablas espanol, el carte se leer en espanol tambien donde se cuenta la comida y cuanto cuesta la comida. It is also in English with a brief description on what you are looking at. There is a spread for everybody here, Vietnamese food, Chinese (American catered) Fried rice and fried foods such as shrimp, fish and french fries. I can see all of the good reviews of 4 stars and above for this place which I would believe if I ever visited here again would reflect that on me as well but I was just not feeling the Pho' like everybody was talking about. To me, it was borderline flavor to flavorless but had really tender thin sliced beef that tipped it over the 6 outof 10 scale, let's that that a 6 1/2 or even a 7. For only $5 that night I could NOT shoot down this dish and guess what, let my budget order me some fried fish, shrimp and fries. Yes, I was hungry that night. Let me tell you about the fish and shrimp platter. It came out hot, it came out fresh, it beckoned me to dare to hatch the fries immediately.....I burned my tongue, did not expect that. It was a good hurt feeling like when you pull a tack out of your butt, yes, I learned to be careful where I sit now. The tarter sauce that came out with it was decent. It was hard for me to distinguish if it was sysco imported semi clear goo or if they made it in the back since there were good chunks of pickles entwined in it. The ketup with the bottle dallop squeezed mayonnaise on top made an interesting ponder whether to eat it that way because you like mayonnaise or aren't used to eating fries like that and will give it a try. Each to their own, I liked it, kind of. The first iced tea I was served was decent, good strength. The refill I had to go up to the cashier to beg for tasted like booty. If you've ever worked in a restaurant before then you know what I'm talking about, when your co workers do not clean the bottom of the steel iced tea container and you get the iced tea sip the next day? Iz okay, iz only ized tea. Parking, pretty tight, touch and go. Not ample if it ever gets busy here which lunch would be suspect but I got here at a good time. Pricing, as everybody that has reviewed here says and is true, cheap! You cannot find a cheaper place around even though I do not go to Pasadena much but if I did, I would be here. In all fairness, they seemed a little busy so I cannot knock the non existent service after they drop the food off. I am sure this will be a 4 star place on my next visit. Bookmark it, read the reviews, look at the food pictures, learn a little spanish, make the time and visit here and you will most likely NOT be disappointed. Got picky kids? There is a little of everything here and you don't have to worry about them being loud and disturbing other patrons because this isn't exactly a sit down enjoy a date restaurant. The cleanliness of this establishment is on par for where you are and what you are eating/paying for. It's not dirty/stinky bad, very tolerable even for a clean freak like mua. No hagas caso el bano porque no es culpa de ellos que algun cargaste aqui y hechaste unas mal cochineras en el piezo. Pinches cochino a quien hizo eso. There are two televisions here but the sound is muted down for your dining enjoyment.

Pork egg rolls

This place is pretty good for Vietnamese food. I ordered the spicy vegetable soup and it was ok? I had to add sriracha sauce because the soup was not spicy at all? Then ordered the pork egg rolls and they where pretty good? Nothing to write home about lol! In the past I have order the pho and it was really good.

That's supposed to be grilled chicken in the spring roll. Doesn't look or taste like chicken to me. Yuck!

Not good at all. I asked for chicken spring rolls and a chicken sandwich but I REALLY don't think I got chicken. Grilled chicken should not be brown. My food was disgusting, I couldn't even finish it. Tossed it straight in the trash. Never going back to this place again.

Theresa Chinese/Vietnamese in Pasadena!

I was so happy to find this place in Pasadena. Typically my fiance and I have to leave Pasadena in order to find Chinese food that we both like. This place felt like it was made for us! It is Chinese and Vietnamese! On the Restaurant sign it said Fast Food, which made me wonder what I was getting myself into but I was surprised at how awesome the food was. We ordered water, tea, wonton soup, Vietnamese egg rolls, I decided on the chicken lo men and he opted for the General Tso's chicken. Wonton soup was very good, the broth was not too salty and the wontons had a very fresh taste which made it really hard to come to terms to the soup being all done! The Chicken Lo Mein was also very good, and I was so surprised at the plate of food I received. First of all the chicken felt tender and moist, which sometimes at other places chicken tends to be a bit on the dry side. Secondly (and my favorite part about it) is that the vegetables taste extremely fresh, they are not super soggy, they have a nice crunch to them, the broccoli was not just a bunch of stems. The combination of the food on the plate was very well balanced as far as the chicken, vegetables, and noodles go you had enough of each through each bite. Customer Service was very good as well, if we ever needed anything the waiter would bring it over to us right away. Very pleasant experience. If you drive through Southmore make sure to try this place out... you will not be let down, as a matter of fact, it will exceed your expectations.

Eye round steak and brisket pho $6.95
Sammie B.

This is a really excellent spot to get some good pho at decent prices. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. I got a bowl of Eye round steak and brisket w/fresh herbs for $6.95 and an order of pork egg rolls for $2.50. The food came out fairly quickly, with my my appetizer coming out first which is always great. The dining area is clean and the bathrooms smell fresh and are clean, paper towels were filled as well as a hand dryer. I'll definitely be back again!

Yommyyyyness. Cheap prices, great portions. Just all around delicious.

The sandwiches were great and fairly priced. I'd go back if I'm in the area, I'd like to try the other menu items.

We walked in and were told to sit where we wanted and handed menus. They took our drink orders first and after bringing our drinks, they also brought us small bowls with a consume style chicken soup/broth. This was tasty, I enjoyed it. They took our orders a couple of minutes after as well. We started by getting 3 appetizers, the calamari, chicken satay and the dumplings. My friend ordered the Pad Thai (medium level spicy ness so maybe a 2-3?), and my other friend and I got the Maiasian fried rice box which comes with shrimp fried rice and a fried chicken cutlet on top. You can also choose your level of spice on this dish. My friend went with a 2 and I chose not to get it spicy as spicy food causes me stomach issues. After placing our order, our first appetizer came out in about 5 minutes and it was the calamari. I could see the seasoning on the breading, they looked tasty and some were fried crispier than others but nothing was overcooked. Upon first bite, the flavor was really good but the spice on them kicks in after you've ate it and they are HOT. I can handle a small amount of heat but these felt like a 5. Needless to say I only ate two. The chicken satay was my favorite of the appetizers, the dipping sauce is peanut butter forward which I loved because you get the saltiness right away along with that PB taste and the sweetness and mild spice come after. The cucumber provided with the satay was the cooling agent I needed to sedate the heat from the calamari. It was cool, refreshing and sweet. The dumplings were pork and shrimp and come with a soy dipping sauce. They were tasty as well, not the best I've had, but enjoyable. Seasoned perfectly. My dish, the Maiasian fried rice box was delicious! The shrimp are a nice size, fairly big, and my favorite vegetable in the rice was the broccoli. The chicken cutlet was fried perfectly too. I really enjoyed it and the one my friend got wasn't too spicy at a level 2. I'd say it was still pretty mild. I did get a taste of the Pad Thai and at a level 3 spice I'd say. It was sweet with that spice kicking in after. It was milder than I thought but over all still a good Pad Thai. After we finished eating, they brought us to go boxes since we all didn't really finish our plates. It was a lot of food and they also brought us these home made cookies with a chocolate frosting on them in the shape of a star. Not sure what kind of cookies these were, maybe sugar cookies I'd say, but they were DELICIOUS! If they would sell boxes of these to go I'd buy 2 or 3 of them hahaha. They were the best thing to end our meals with. I forgot to mention that our food came out pretty fast, and the kitchen is in the dining area so you can see, hear and smell the food being prepared. Aside from the sound of the chef cooking, the restaurant has a quiet ambience and I find it quite cozy. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. It's really a hidden gem.

Anyway, they're packed into a small business center. They're easy to miss. Thai Jasmine Cuisine is small inside, so not ideal for large gatherings. The decor is lovely and adorable. They have a huge TV screen, but the volume is too loud. There's an abundant of aquarium fish in this place! The staff are kind and the prices are decent. There's no lunch special, though. Our food arrived fresh, with the right amount of spice. Thai Jasmine Cuisine offers catering. But, the seasoning on some of their dishes are gritty. I wouldn't recommend their curry, most of the customers have complained about the texture being gritty too. That's NOT how curry should be! Their spicy wings...aren't spicy at all. You pay at their counter, not at your table. They don't give you enough napkins unless you ask. Unlike most Asian restaurants, Thai Jasmine Cuisine have other desserts besides the usual mango sticky rice and mochi. They have cheesecakes, Tres leches cake, carrot cake, chocolate cake and coconut ice cream. Spoiler: Their aquarium "lion fish" are fake. What's the point of having those?!
