I recently found out about this new Vietnamese spot in the neighborhood so my parents, sister, and I decided to check it out. It was a Saturday at around 1 pm and the place was more than half full. We were all starving so we ordered a feast and tried a little bit of everyone's dish. We had: Banh cuon - this was only okay. The pork tasted a bit old like maybe it had been steamed a few times already Vietnamese spring rolls - this was perfectly fried but could have used a bit more filling. Classic pho - this was nice and comforting. I also added beef balls for an extra $2 and the entire bowl was huge. I was barely able to make a dent in my own dish since I was also trying everyone else's Grilled pork chop over rice - this was good, no complaints here. The rice was perfect and they even slice up the pork chop for you if you ask. Banh mi (special combo) - this is the classic one that comes with pate. They also added regular deli ham, which made the overall flavor a bit off. I wouldn't order this again. Banh mi (grilled chicken) - this isn't something I would have ever ordered but my sister ordered it so I decided to try it. It was pretty good. I actually preferred this over the special combo banh mi but, the bread was a bit too toasty for me. Overall, the food was decent. Not sure it will be my go-to in this hood but I wouldn't mind giving it another shot in the future. I ordered some food to go and I have to say I would order from here again. I wanted pork chop and saw the option of grilled pork chop over rice with Chinese sausage and a fried egg. In addition to that, there were some cucumber slices and a tomato slice, which was really nice to cut through the grease, not that it was really greasy. The spring rolls were nicely fried and came with large, fresh romaine lettuce to wrap them in and their standard carrot/ daikon pickling sauce. The pho - in all honestly seemed a bit small as in, not a lot of meat or noodles compared to ones I've had in the past. Ok this is my new favorite viet spot!! Unassuming space, friendly staff, homey pho and summer rolls! Came on a Saturday at 12p and most of the tables were empty. They have a mix of small and large party seating, and our party of 6 was immediately seated. Menu is extensive -- they have 5 different kinds of Goi Cuon (summer/fresh rolls) and every combo of rice vermicelli you can imagine. The goi cuon was delicious. They're smaller-sized and have a simple set of fillings (just rice noodles, lettuce, and shrimp) but clearly fresh and the wraps had the best chew to it. The beef satay goi cuon had a lil oil to it so the wrap was slightly more delicate, but the flavor was so so good! I ordered 2 total sets of summer rolls (so 4 rolls total), and would order more next time :) Their pho is also fantastic - the noodles perfectly chewy and portions generous. A new pho restaurant in town! Originally a bakery, the inside was wonderfully spacious with tables available for even large groups. The ambiance gave off next gen vibes compared to other pho places in the area. The workers spoke English and the customers, a younger demographic. That is not to say, the music was blasting old classics with a random Raymond Lam hit in the mix. I love it! The Shrimp Summer Rolls ($5.25) were a disappointment. They were on the smaller end and had a thick rice paper roll. There was even a noticeable chunky rice paper rolled inside, which made them not enjoyable. The #1 Special Noodle Beef Soup ($9.75) was great! Sadly, the noodle to soup ratio was imbalanced, and the soup flavor, not very compelling. That is until you add in the condiments and sides! Out of all the meat, the fatty beef pieces were so delicious! And their noodles, immaculate! Perfectly cooked and sized, the noodles were just what I was looking for. You know the Spring Rolls 4 pc ($5.95) were going to be good when they come in AFTER your pho. Drenched in a beautiful greasy golden color, the pieces were oh so crispy and addicting with each dip into its accompanying sauce. In the end, we ordered the grilled chicken rice vermicelli and special noodle beef soup (which is generally the most popular pho choice). When the food came, I noticed that the meat in my pho looked more cooked that I expect it to be so it was a bit stiff. The noodles were also all bunched up at the bottom so it took a little effort to separate them. It was a bit disappointing for me, but my mom enjoyed her dish with the grilled chicken and rice vermicelli.
