    Pho Tai Nam

4/5 Pho Tai Nam -- flavorful broth, very generous amount of beef eye round and brisket, noodles were on the thinner end 4.5/5 Spring Rolls -- one of the better ones I've had in recently memory for sure! Fried super crisp, great with the lettuce wrap and fish sauce. This no frills spot was bustling with customers on this weekend lunch time, and the wait staff still came over to ask to refill our tea which was greatly appreciated.

Very standard Vietnamese restuarant. The prices are really good, a standard pho is about $10. But, I think the portion size is a bit small. Usually, the pho portions are a lot bigger and I would be stuffed after. I was still hungry after the pho and the fried spring rolls. I think the taste is very standard and even a little bland. The noodles clumped together and overall, it was just okay. The fried spring rolls were standard too. The staff were friendly. Overall: I think the food is a little below par for me but the prices are affordable. I would go to another Vietnamese restaurant next time.

I ordered take out from here on grubhub. The price seemed very reasonable compared to Manhattan prices. The Vietnamese coffee was good, but not as strong as I'm used to. I got the pork chop over rice. The pork chops could've been juicier and a bit more charred. I got the order with a fried egg and Chinese sausage which was interesting. Overall I had a good easy lunch in the neighborhood. Was it the best? No. But I was satisfied. I would order lunch delivery from here again when I'm at work.

Christmas spread !!!!! Pho special, extra grilled pork chop, Sliced pork combo rice box, spring rolls

We called in for a takeout order on Christmas Day! We ordered 4 pho soups, 2 rice boxes, spring rolls, and a Thai iced tea. The service was SOOO fast. It took only about 20 mins for everything to be packed up. The soup base was good but i like it a tad salty. Which is fine because i can add more salt or fish sauce for more umami flavor. The spring rolls were crispy and came with a bunch of veggies for us to wrap it in. The rice was jammed packed with sliced pork!!! This was 2 portions for us (we couldn't finish this, so half of this rice box was for lunch tomorrow!!) the portions are so big, I did not expect that much food. Overall we def would come back to dine in or even do another takeout order. Everything was packed very well, nothing spilled, all utensils were given!

I came here for lunch with my family on a Saturday afternoon. There was a lot more seating than I expected. This place would be good for groups. We ordered the beef pho, the combo banh mi sandwich, and the summer rolls. The summer rolls were fresh. The banh mi was decent but I still prefer the banh mi at Ba Xuyen. There wasn't that much filling (meat and veggies). The French bread was warm though which I did like. Service was fast and friendly. I would come back, always looking for a good pho especially in the winter.

This is a very nice spot on 8 ave for pho! There is a lot of space between the tables so you don't feel crowded. The servers were nice, welcoming, and efficient. The food was good. I got the pho dac biet and I wish there was a bit more meat. The meat didn't seem super fresh when I came in this time. Their summer rolls are on the smaller side and the fillings are more simple but still good. The spring rolls were crispy and tasty. Overall look forward to coming back!

I recently found out about this new Vietnamese spot in the neighborhood so my parents, sister, and I decided to check it out. It was a Saturday at around 1 pm and the place was more than half full. We were all starving so we ordered a feast and tried a little bit of everyone's dish. We had: Banh cuon - this was only okay. The pork tasted a bit old like maybe it had been steamed a few times already Vietnamese spring rolls - this was perfectly fried but could have used a bit more filling. Classic pho - this was nice and comforting. I also added beef balls for an extra $2 and the entire bowl was huge. I was barely able to make a dent in my own dish since I was also trying everyone else's Grilled pork chop over rice - this was good, no complaints here. The rice was perfect and they even slice up the pork chop for you if you ask. Banh mi (special combo) - this is the classic one that comes with pate. They also added regular deli ham, which made the overall flavor a bit off. I wouldn't order this again. Banh mi (grilled chicken) - this isn't something I would have ever ordered but my sister ordered it so I decided to try it. It was pretty good. I actually preferred this over the special combo banh mi but, the bread was a bit too toasty for me. Overall, the food was decent. Not sure it will be my go-to in this hood but I wouldn't mind giving it another shot in the future. Plus, the staff was really nice and friendly despite having to put up our multiple requests.

Nice and spacious place in Sunset park, Brooklyn. On the 8th avenue area, it's lively and has a great energy of Chinatown. This place has been known for an authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Pretty good broth and very basic traditional style. Very fast service! I appreciate it. They serve a hot tea for the table loved a beef pho! The noodles is thinner than i prefer.. Just my personal preference though. I will definitely come back! Decent price as well

I ordered some food to go and I have to say I would order from here again. I wanted pork chop and saw the option of grilled pork chop over rice with Chinese sausage and a fried egg. In addition to that, there were some cucumber slices and a tomato slice, which was really nice to cut through the grease, not that it was really greasy. The spring rolls were so delicious that I regretted not ordering more of it!! Will definitely order more of that the next time I come here. The spring summer rolls were mediocre to be honest, so I probably would not get it again. Overall, I would order from here again. The store itself seemed like a good place to sit and dine in.

Great service and even better food. We got the fried sampler platter, sliced pork pho, and the special combo bahn mi. Food arrived to our table very quickly, but was still very fresh. I feel the prices are super affordable too. We spent less than $40 and left very full. Will definitely be coming back!

We try this out at noon today . Not as good as I expected. Prices okay with the portion size. No service at all. Just taking order from you nothing else

Satay Beef Summer Rolls, Grilled Chicken Thigh, beef and soup
    Annie G.

The soup and grilled chicken and pork were both very good! The beef satay rolls were a little too thick and the noodles inside made them a little difficult to eat. But we would definitely return here if we were craving Vietnamese food in the future!

This place is really cheap and the service is very friendly. It's not the most mind blowing bowl of pho, but it's great in this area and good to satisfy a craving. It also comes out really fast! And they give free Puer tea.

Not spectacular Viet food (there are no great Viet spots in NYC anyway) but a solid spot to satisfy the sudden crave. Strong value.

I really thought I had reviewed Ba Xuyen before. I first ate here pre-pandy and it never occurred…read moreto me that I hadn't chimed in about this awesome spot. Well, let's clear that up now. The aunties are mentioned often in other reviews, and that's because they're amazing. They'll gladly explain what you need, especially when it comes to the super tasty (and extremely inexpensive) deserts that populate racks and the drink fridges here. Some are sweet, some are sour (the deserts, that is), they'll let you know. Honesty since a cake here is $5, you can afford to try everything! How on to the main reason that you came, the Banh Mi. You literally can't go wrong with any of the eight main sandwiches here. I've tried them all so you don't have to, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. The bread is crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the tastes combine perfectly. The decor is perfect for this kind of spot. No frills. There are three tables and a bunch of chairs. It's exactly what I want in a takeout type place. They concentrate on the food. So, to wrap this one up. Go. I'd say that I'll be back, but I've been coming here for years. If you haven't, it's time to start.
