I was with my family enjoying the coney island attractions when we decided to get lunch. It was a super hot day and we looked online for places to eat. We saw chowtime and it also had boba and seince it was a hot day we decided to go, the food there was super good the fried chicken wings are super flavorful and thier shrimp and brocoli was very tasty thier boba was also sweet and refreshing. So nice to be back to grab a bite after the amazing mermaid parade. I ordered the General Tso's chicken, excellent breading to chicken ratio. Wish it was more crunchy and a drop more flavorful. Delicious not too sweet lychee bubble tea and my friend enjoyed his blueberry bubble tea-claiming it was very sweet. He ordered the veggie Lomein and said it was good, nice sized portions. This is a Vietnamese /Chinese spot half a block away from the Stillwell train station in Coney Island. I ate from them once before when they first opened and it was OK. Ordered food from here the other day, it just wasn't good . I tried their Hot & Sour Soup , Roast Pork Fried Rice, Fried Chicken Wings and a Pork Egg Roll. The portions were average. The wings were on the drier side . The rice was hard . The soup was mostly filled with mushrooms which I don't like . The egg roll seemed to lack the meat , just cabbage . The service was on the lower end. There's a table inside if you want to sit, but mostly I believe people just get takeout. I won't eat from them again . read more

Very middle of the road, it is an Asian fusion restaurant but some quirks filled in. The wonton soup is perfect for a chilly day. Tightly wrapped wontons with ample filling and pieces of pork on the bottom for extra consumption. The fried noodle strips are not very good, and only detract from something so simple. The Banh Mi would be superb if it were not for the overkill on the pork. I love Vietnamese sausage, but the amount on it is too small compared to the grilled pork. I like that you get plenty of pickled daikon and carrots, but maybe next time, include more sausage than grilled meat. It is a big sandwich, only adding to how much I could have enjoyed it. After all, the Banh Mi is my all time favorite sandwich. The roast pork lo mein is good, but a little bland. You get a nice portion, but it needs a little more flavor. I am not a fan of vegetables in lo mein as it takes away from the noodles being the star, but it is almost there. Like so close. I would order here again as it is only a 5 minute walk from my apartment, but like with this order, it needs to be heavily modified. Oh, and it would not hurt to add a table or two there. Ordered the chicken bahn mi for take out lunch and was very satisfied! This sandwich was delicious. I asked for both jalapeños and sriracha but was only given jalapeños, didn't care because the sandwich was that good. The chicken was white meat, veggies crisp and vinegary, baguette was crunchy and crusty. As a non-pork eater, I was very happy to see an option for me to enjoy this delicious Vietnamese meal! The cashier was very kind and you order at the counter so no tipping needed. They accept both cash and card (+3% convenience fee with card). My bahmi was a delicious mix of savory and sour/sweet with pate, warm minced pork and pickled veges. I don't Yelp a lot but this place deserves it. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area where great Chinese food is plentiful. Moving to NYC was a huge disappointment in terms of the selection. Outside of Flushing, most places leave a lot to be desired for Chinese food if you're looking for something at a reasonable price that tastes good and you're not in the mood for spicy Szechuan. Listen, I eat out a lot. More than I should. So I know what the hell I'm talking about. I've been to the fancy, expensive places. I've been to the tasty, authentic places. I am pretty picky with my Chinese food in general. All that said, I think this is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to during my time in NYC, both from a taste and value perspective. And I didn't feel horrible after eating it. I think it actually gave me better vibes after I ate it. Not greasy, great portion sizes, and like I said, really reasonably priced. I don't know why it's so hard to find good Chinese food in my area, but it is. That's why I feel so blessed to have found ChowTime during an internet search. From what I read, this is a small place in Coney Island that delivers to a large part of Brooklyn via Grubhub. Ahhh Coney Island. So based on all of the above and my nostalgic love of Coney Island, my mind was made up and I enthusiastically placed an order. The food was packaged perfectly, each meal together in its own container, not a million separate containers which tends to be hella messy. The food was fresh and flavorful and definitely not greasy or over sauced. I did not get an msg migraine nor did I feel stuffed or bloated. Right away I knew this was quality food. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. The vegetable fried rice was my favorite. Again, seasoned just right with beautiful fluffy rice, fresh scallions, carrots and peas. This really stood out to me and will definitely order the fried rice again. Also will try the chicken dumplings on my next order, which I read great things about. Tried the Triple Delight Com Dia (Vietnamese Rice Platter with Asian sausage, pork chop, and a fried egg, as well as sliced tomato, cucumber, and pickled carrots) and it was DAMN good!! The pork chop was tender, crispy, and flavorful and the egg fried to perfection. There were so many flavors going on all at once... the sausage was sweet, the pork savory, the carrots tart, and the accompanying sauce tasted kinda like fish. And it's so much food!!! I could only finish half. For $8, that's a steal. Also tried my mom's shrimp mei fun and really liked it. Very flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. Also a lot of food for only $7. M.Y. and I stopped in here after a long bike ride down the shore parkway to Coney island. While most of the eateries in the area are concentrated on carnival based fare, ChowTime was a nice stumbled upon place where the BahnMi was delicious and the prices were ideal. The sandwich hit all the right spots after a long bike ride, carbs from the crispy bread, salty savory goodness from the meats and a nice hit of vinegar from the pickled carrots and radish. Overall a big hit from me. Why four stars? As is my policy, I wait until I've tried more things on the menu before I upgrade it to 5 but they're off to a good start. read more

Warning..do not order take out food from this restaurant. I ordered food around 2 pm and by 3:45 pm my food still haven't arrived. I called the restaurant like 6 times to inquire about my order. After multiple attempts someone finally pick up the phone. By then the lady on the phone said she has no idea when my delivery guy will be there and didn't offer any other solution. I was so upset because I was starving and my 1 hour break time is over so basically I went back to work with an empty stomach. Therefore I had to cancel my order. Then that was not all, I had to deal with GrubHub (Yelp go through GrubHub somehow) and spent another 15mins try to explain the whole ideal. GrubHub did cancelled my order and refunded me but this place was so unprofessional and dishonest. This place used to be pretty good, a solid 4-5 stars. It's cheap and they used to give you a lot of food. Lately the quality has been steadily going down. Last time I ordered from them, the boneless spare ribs were dry and tasteless as was the fried rice that came with it. The beef mei fun had almost no beef! There were maybe 3 tiny pieces per order. I am not so sure why the reviews are so high for this place because I experienced the antithesis. Perhaps maybe it is because I ordered delivery...I am not really sure, but gross. The Chinese food was oily and, and the Pho was just not good. I can appreciate that they delivered it all separately with the bean sprouts on the side and the broth on the side, but the noodles were rubbery and hard to bite through. The roasted pork was fatty and rubbery. I figured I would try two different things and share with my colleague: Pho and Shrimp and Lobster sauce with pork fried rice.
