Have been in a few times since first stop and still really impressed with them. I discovered the app after first time and just wanted to recommend it highly and say how easy it is to use and how incredibly accurate the estimates are! The process to make the coffee is a little time consuming, and today the estimate was about 15 minutes. It was ready at EXACTLY the 9:55 estimated time. TOTALLY lived up to the hype! I'm completely addicted now (lol)! So Philz is different from all the other places in that it's gives you a hand-crafted coffee experience from a chain. If you walk in, go in knowing that it's not going to be a quick 2 minute coffee run. It's going to take more time than your average trip to Starbucks. First trip I had a Canopy of Heaven. My barista had great suggestions (since I was a newbie) and made sure to ask me what sweetness level I wanted, if I wanted iced or hot, etc. He also made it a point to have me try it before I left because he wanted to make sure I loved my drink & he would fix it if he needed to?! Anywho, the best cup of coffee I've had! So smooth & the flavors were so layered & deep! I actually only drink coffee when I'm extremely tired because a full cup always upsets my stomach, but Philz coffee didn't?! On my second visit I got a Mint Mojito. Different barista, same awesome service! The funny thing is, I HATE fresh mint (lol)! But it's so popular here I felt I had to try it & I'm SO glad I did!!! I was pretty impressed by Philz coffee! I ended up ordering the Mint Mojito which did not disappoint! It was a tasty coffee and was not extremely overpowering with mint flavor. We parked in the parking garage and they validated us, the staff were quite friendly and helpful with what to order. This was my first visit to Philz and I will recommend it highly to others. What can I say, Philz just makes a good cup of coffee. I got the famous mint mojito, lightly sweetened. It takes a little longer to receive your coffee since each cup is brewed when ordered. The coffee beans they use seem of good quality. If you like mint, then get this drink. If you aren't a big fan of mint, do not get it, the mint taste is very strong especially if you let the drink fester. The drink in itself is very refreshing. Another location that I walked in for the first time. It was a cute experience on how the orders were taken. I had to patiently wait until my orders were done, in order to get them and go. Every order was made from the scratch. Once they were done with me they called the next customer. After the next person was called, they would get their order, which would again be made from the scratch and the rest of the crowd will wait till it's done in order for the next customer to be called. It took some time to be called, get order in and get our coffees. Overall experience was unique, coffee tasted really good and fresh, but I won't be coming here too often. Reason, I am not a big coffee drinker and wouldn't have that much patience to wait for my coffee to be made from scratch. This is the first SoCal location of Philz Coffee I've tried and it's just as good as I remembered. Of course I ordered the most popular drink - Mint Mojito. How could anyone resist? The coffee is sweet, creamy, with a delicious infusion of fresh mint flavor. One of my favorite coffee drinks but rather pricey ($5.60 for the large size which isn't really that large), definitely not something I could afford every day. One thing I wanted to note was how inefficient the line is. You wait in a line and when you get to the front, you order directly from your barista. Then you wait for your drink as they make it, finally bringing it up to the cash register to pay. Overall, this process is definitely slower than the traditional setup (order at the cash register, baristas focus on making the drinks only). Great drinks but service was sub par. The store set up is quite awkward, so they have a queue for you to wait. The only down fall is that from the queue/ wait line you can hardly see the menu board. So i ventured my way trying to get a good view of the menu board so I can justify which drink to order on my visit.. which resulted in me getting scolded by one of their workers for not staying behind the queue... mind you i was the only one waiting so it wasn't like I was cutting in front of someone to look at their menu. I wasn't a big fan when I came to Philz to try their mint mojito - the coffee drink most people raved about. However, after trying the ecstatic ice coffee, I am in love! What the barista told me was that the ecstatic coffee was basically the same coffee as the mint mojito, just without the mint leaves. I guess it's a personal preference, but the coffee tasted a lot better without the mint flavor in my opinion. I'll definitely be coming back for more. I also really like the service provided here. The baristas are super friendly and helpful. And when your drink is ready, they make sure to ask if you like how your drink tastes or they will remake it to how you like it. read more

This location is constantly understaffed. The line does not move because the poor employees are running between making drinks and the register. Nobody is consistently taking orders. If you want to pride yourself on having pour over then that's fine, but know what that entails: a person dedicated to managing the pour overs. Good pour over cannot be made with a split focus. You know, for the longest time I was against the hype of Philz Coffee when it arrived on Brand across the Americana mainly because I'd never been impressed with any other coffee chain. Big-named coffee plans are usually overhyped for the quality they are serving and sometimes even inconsistent. When I finally went in to a Philz Coffee for the first time, months after its opening, I ordered the drink that they're famous for and my taste buds were thoroughly intrigued. MINT MOJITO 5/5: Not only had I never heard of an alcoholic drink being transformed into a coffee version before, but I was actually impressed with the quality of the coffee. I love the fact that we can choose which type of roast we prefer, as well as the amount of creamer and sugar. I love customization and not being judged for it! I love the ambiance, first of all. Although the lines are always out the door and the indoors art always looks like the place is in the middle of being remodeled, the customer service is always on-point and their coffee is always satisfactory. The study stations are nice to have but it's awkwardly cramped with not much wiggle room. It's also pretty loud so I definitely wouldn't recommend people to get actual studying done here. My friend and I also tried their avocado toast with slices of boiled egg on it and it wasn't bad. Their pastries and food aren't my absolute favorite, but it's something when you're starving and don't feel like going anywhere else. PARKING Terribly limited in the vicinity. Metered spots available on Brand Blvd. or right behind the store in the small lot. Cashier was super personable and took the time to explain the to differences (as I wanted decaf she said the Lucas wasn't on the menu but that they could make that into a latte). Definitely a must try if you want to take a break from the standard. The environment of this cafe and very warm and inviting. Love the graffiti artwork as soon as we walked in. I'm here for one reason only and it's to order their Iced Mint Mojito. The guy suggested that I order it with cream and sugar. When my drink was ready, he asked me to take a sip first to see if it's to my liking or he will adjust it for me. They ask that for all their customers. Make sure to give it a little mix to dissolve the sugar on the bottom. I'm going to be honest with you, upon first sip...I kept smacking my mouth, do I like it, do I not like it? The strong mint gives it an unusual flavor to the drink and it made my taste buds a bit confused. But the more sips I took, I found myself loving it more and more. Camped out at the Hampton Inn across the street for a few days while visiting my Dad, and I made two trips, once each morning that I was here, for a cup of coffee here at Philz. Let me just say that BOTH morning produced some of the BEST coffee I've ever had. I could literally not drink it in big enough gulps to enjoy it fast enough. I absolutely love Philz! The coffee is great and the staff is always friendly. Coffee/food: I've never gotten something from here that I didn't like. I usually go for the Iced Tesora and make it as sweet as possible (adding sugar and cream) but you can customize the sweetness to your liking. The baristas are always willing to adjust your drink for you if you don't like it! The Iced Ecstatic is also good, and has the same nutty flavors as the Tesora. I've also tried the Mint Mojito. It isn't incredibly minty and overpowering but I'm not the biggest fan of mint so I usually stay away. The only food item I've tried has been the Monkey Bread. It was flavorful and filling. The only thing I would change would be to have it warm. I'm not sure if Philz warms things the way Starbucks does but if they do I would certainly ask. Parking/location: There's a huge lot in the back which always has spots. Unfortunately, you have to pay for parking, but it's worth it if you're going to stay in the area and walk around. It's right across from the Americana, so you can grab your coffee and shop or vice versa. Online ordering: I have the app and I usually always order and take the coffee to go. It's super easy, they always have it ready on time, and they're keeping up great with the coronavirus restrictions. I love this place! When I'm in the area I always grab a cup.
