A long wait at the airport so popped in for lunch. Great service and I enjoyed that many tables had USB ports and outlets! Really enjoyed the shrimp dumplings (pan fried) but wasn't a fan of their Shanghai noodles. The noodles had a strong flavor that was off imo. Also was a very wet dish...in my experience Shanghai noodles have been on the drier side with a lighter yet distinct flavor ...would have preferred that. Water was kept filled! Curious. I have eaten at the restaurant many times until now. That has changed for the future. The food has always been ok. The service is what I have a problem with. I just ordered some sushi rolls to go with less sodium soy sauce. I got the food but with regular soy. I can deal with that. If the hostess would have just said that they were out of the other or that they just did not have it, that would have been ok. What I cannot and will not accept are flat out lies by the hostess. She made up three stories about the sauce and got belligerent about my questions. I even confirmed on the Kikkomans own site that I was not imagining it. Certainly not your normal Chang's. Wife's a business traveler flys in and out out TIA every week. Tried take out once to bring dinner home to the family, not good experience. So she tried again, ordered, went down got her bag and after a total of 25 minutes between ordering, waiting and have people that ordered after her get their food first. She got the order, but staff had to run her down because they forgot the fried rice, total cluster. Not sure what they are trying to achieve at the airport but brand loyalty is not high on their list. We live 45 minutes from airport and would like to get decent food but after a business trip, last thing she wants to do is wait and have incompetent take out service. In 2017 they opened there the first location in China. P.F. Chang's in Tampa like the other 300 plus chains is an Asian-themed American recipe styled Chinese casual dining restaurant with an assortment of Asian beers, Japanese Sake, wines, and cocktails. Tampa now has two locations, with the main store on Westshore Plaza, and the other which my wife and I ate at in the Tampa International Airport. This review for a lunch meal is based at the Airport location but also on drinks at the Westshore. When combined it is not rated very high. They advertise as being a "farm to wok" experience, yet the food comes off of the same Sysco truck that delivers to the neighboring restaurants. Probably the worst meal a person could have. The dumplings had no flavor and fell apart. The serving dish had the dumplings swimming in sauce. Before I was half way done with my app, the main course arrived. Chicken fried rice isn't a difficult dish yet this kitchen screwed it up. Basically it was rice on top of a small amount of chicken. The salt content for both dishes was over powering. If you are a PF Changs regular, skip this place as the food is terrible. Clean place friendly staff but do not go here if you are gluten free. Especially if vegetarian. They can not change anything. All premade food. No gf tofu and they can't make any gf. Husband got same thing with tofu and there are only a few tiny pieces anyway. Ten or so less than an inch across and 1/4 inch thick and they look raw so not sure how they have gluten. Increased my rating from two to three stars. Food was pretty tasty, very salty. read more

Stopped by for a bite before boarding the place. I was pleasantly surprised by this location. It's modern, welcoming and immaculate. I was very pleased with the sushi roll I ordered. I recently ate there while waiting to pick my dad up from the airport ! I had the orange edamame which had a spicy kick to it ! Yummy and entree I had the Buddha's feast which was a very generous portion and had complimentary brown rice free refills . The taste was very good and it came with a ton of veggies! Love this PF Chang's location. First of all it is one of the healthiest and freshest options in the Tampa Airport. Despite the fact that bathrooms are outside the restaurant, my experience was so pleasant. I forgot our servers name but her fire red hair and pleasant demeanor were truly memorable. I'd say this spot is a level below non-airport PF Chang's, but just in my experience. Went with a few appetizers at a non-busy period. The dumplings taste like they've been frozen and were heated up. Not great. It's hard to mess up dynamite shrimp and those were fine. Chang's is known for its Lettuce Wraps, but I don't know. The mixture is nothing special and again, kind of tastes like something that was frozen and then heated up. The food is fine, slightly disappointing, and that's three stars for me. There aren't many other options on the main level at TPA, so this may be one of the better sit-down places in the end. read more

Our experience here at PF Chang's at the Tampa Airport was absolutely awful. The food was ok - nothing great - but the service was terrible. Our host led us to the verrrryyyyyy back corner of the restaurant, away from all the other customers. We were confused, that is until we heard a waiter make a joke to the other waitstaff that it was "the economy section". The entire waitstaff laughs and looks at us, as well as a few other customers. My heart sank. My boyfriend and i had just come off the beach after a week long vacation, so we weren't dressed fancy. We are also a heavily tattooed young couple, so I felt so judged and embarrassed. I make good money, as does my boyfriend. Is our money not good enough here because of the way we look? If we weren't starving from a long day at the beach I'd have walked out right then and there. I confronted our waiter, David, on his inappropriate and hurtful joke and he made a comment along the lines of "oh this section is normally closed so I don't know why you were seated here". That has nothing to do with the fact that you called it the economy section. At this point I feel uncomfortable asking for a manager because I don't want to fit the stereotype he so awfully put my boyfriend and I into. We order our food, dumplings were ok. But, my boyfriend orders a shrimp dish for his entree. We are sent chicken instead. Waiter seems to have his tail between legs for the rest of the meal as he knows we heard his joke. Water was kept full, check came out promptly. This restaurant needs a revamp of its service, and needs some sensitivity training at the least. I am absolutely appalled and feel so degraded. It is in the airport terminal before security. They asked about any food allergies or intolerances. Dumb me--I forget to mention MSG. I paid for that mistake, let me tell you. There are no bathrooms in this restaurant. If you want a bathroom, it across the terminal corridor. Depending on when the last flight let out, ti might be a considerable amount of time before you are granted entry to the bathroom. The lettuce wraps were tasty. The entrees--other than being misidentified--were quite good as well. Somehow or other, the person who brought orders gave my son the Sesame Chicken that I ordered. Now you would think the sesame seeds would be a dead give away, but no. So when i got back from the hike to the bathroom (launched by my eating the lettuce wraps), half of my Sesame Chicken was gone already. Oh well, he is a growing man, and if I had eaten all of it, I might have been even more ill. Believe it or not, the Wendy's down the way in the food court had "airport" prices so high that we would have spent more there. read more

I haven't been to any PF Chang's in a while, and I usually tend to avoid them due to their tendency to dump soy sauce on everything and have food devoid of any other flavor. However, I was craving asian food and decided to give it a go. First of all, almost all of the tables were next to a wall, and included an outlet - which I thought was great considering the airport setting. I am a vegetarian, so I had the vegetarian lettuce wraps, and a side of the spicy green beans. The food tasted really fresh, and was well seasoned with garlic and other things rather than just soy sauce. This is the first time I've had an adequate amount of lettuce for my wraps (I usually ask for more), and that left me pleasantly surprised. My friends also ordered sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice, and everyone else really enjoyed their food as well. The service could be improved; our initial waitress went MIA and had some miscommunications with another server who came by to check on us, but all in all it was a surprisingly positive experience at an airport.
