I had some time to kill while waiting at TPA Tampa International Airport so I thought I would try PF Chang's. I thought they all went out of business and just sold frozen entrees at grocery stores, but here it was in person so I went in and sat at the bar and ordered a meal. The food menu is very limited although they do have quite a bit of an alcohol selection. The server was nice and timely. I ordered the change spicy chicken and brown rice for $18.70, most items on their menu were around the $20 range. Which even during covid seemed a bit pricey. The service was fine but the meal not so much. I was brought out a plate of spicy chicken and a bowl of brown rice, I put them on one plate. It tasted like it came from the frozen section at the grocery store and someone put it in the microwave and heated it up. Although there was some spice with a little bit of kick to it for flavoring there was minimal chicken and most of it was breading with very small chunks of chicken. The rice tasted as expected and was okay, nothing great. I could have made the same exact meal microwaved myself and not been able to tell the difference from what they served me. PF Chang's is definitely not nearly as good as the authentic China Wok type of eateries you see in every town. The serving size and the size of the pieces of meat are much larger from an authentic Chinese restaurant, and it would have been half the price. PF Chang seemed more like what you would get from a low-cost fast food drive-thru window. Even though it's in the main terminal at the airport I expected more. Unfortunately there's nothing about the atmosphere or ambiance at this location that would make me want to eat here again. We been wanting to dine at P.F. Chang's for years, but whatever reason never did until we noticed a restaurant in the Tampa Bay airport terminal. We decided to seat at the bar where we found it comfortable and cozy. The restaurant serves a variety of Asian flare and Chinese dishes which include hand-rolled sushi, Chinese dim sum, Lo Mein, and other Asian inspired dishes. We chose to have their Lettuce Wraps and Egg Rolls which were both particularly good. I am sure that we will find ourselves dining more often at P J Chang's. read more

Tampa's PF Chang location is definitely the place to be when you get off the air shuttle and have time to kill prior to departure and an empty tummy. Didn't want to go overboard, so opted for some Shrimp Tempera Sushi that was pretty as expected. It could have been rolled a touch tighter though, as at least 2 of the knifed pieces started to separate upon chopstick lift towards the soy dish. Washed down with a 6oz vs 9oz Riesling, since it was CA vs a traditional German Riesling which is more traditional and common. Then again was in a Florida airport, so one can only be grateful they at least had the option of it. Since I still has a touch of extra time I opted for a Turtlecheesecake slice, to make up for not seeing any turtles on the beaches this trip. ;) The fork that it was delivered with wasn't the cleanest :( It had like cleaner/soap streaks or something, but nothing that the lemon I had in my water glass couldn't fix ;) shinny and clean once again before usage. It was the right size not to big, not to small. I was happy to see that it was majoritally more Caramel coated Cheesecake with just a hint of crushed nut on top and chocolate small layer at bottom near crust. My waitress Chelsea very complimentary and professional from beginning to end. She definitely has that spark, personality and hustle to run the whole floor I'm sure. This airport location was one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in an airport. Usually a chain's airport location is not up to the standards of mall locations. However, the food and service was very good. They have most of the starters, entrees and drinks that all locations have. I had the Chang's Spicy chicken and combo fried rice. I get these in every location I have been to. Excellent as always. The other entrees I noticed on other tables looked just as good as mine. The place has a lot of seating, with a large bar area. It was midday and the restaurant was busy. We were seated right away and did not wait long for service, or our food. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She made sure our soft drinks were always filled. Customers were coming and going consistent with an airport location. I do mot think there would ever be a long wait for a table. read more

Standard PF Chang's but slow and bad service. No happy hour or specials due to it being in the airport. Located before the TSA gates. Has a great outdoor seating area that is windy so perfect for sitting outside if it's cooler. two bars one inside and one outside. Waitress was super forgetful. Didn't get silverware or napkins until we were halfway done our food. She blamed it on the hostess. $15 for a house margarita. This was the Tampa locationthe food was bland and not up to par hard to have a bad thing of chicken and broccoli completely unseasoned. The service was ridiculous. The two people that were host were more interested in their gossip than they were the up the order wrong and completely negated the value of the voucher that we had received for from American Airlines. The manager came out and explained that well he scanned it wrong "couldn't take it back. We didn't get the money but you could go back to American and they can re-issue it."It took 35 minutes to get the voucher from we were not about to go back. Why would we do that when we were there hungry and trying to find accommodations because of a canceled flight. She made excuses and the host that rang it up wrong gave no apologies. My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + we arrived from California after flying all day to be met with Florida storms. To pass time (and wait for our bags) we popped into PFC for dinner. We had no wait - despite the 5pm time. Our waitress, Kelsie was peppy and enthusiastic + my lo Mein was scrumptious. Pretty good food! I ordered the orange chicken and it was very tasty! My only complaint is the plates, they had dust and what looked like hair on them (probably hair from a towel) which was a bit gross, but after wiping it off, it wasn't a problem! Although I ordered Take out, we sat down immediately and ate our food. The orange chicken is way under cooked for "lightly battered" and the orange sauce is not good. I included photo of the chicken which came out so soggy. The bigger pieces of chicken were still pink :( there was so much batter and wasn't fried crispy. I hope this was an accident but they charged me $50 over my $5 tip of my beverage order of $13. When I called they said they'll refund me if I come back to the airport. Well I don't live in Tampa so it's not convenient. When I called between 3 and 4 pm to ask for a manager, they said no manager is on duty. This is ridiculous so I'm taking it to HQ level. Decent food. Service was spotty at best but we had gotten there not long before they were closing so most everyone was taking care of cleaning up at the end of the night. Except for the bar. They were yakking it up. Any questions we initially had were answered at the beginning. I had gotten the spicy green beans, and an order of veggie fried rice. The green beans were pretty good but the serving size was pretty small for an entree to be honest. The fried rice had a good amount of veggies but they were kept in pretty large pieces so bite by bite it felt imbalanced actually eating through it since with a thing of broccoli you get a little bit of rice and then miss having the vegetables later. I kind of wanted to order more due to hunger but we had also gotten meals due to flights being cancelled outside of our control so we were trying to make the most of it before everything closed up. Went for a TSA interview and stopped in PF Chang's for lunch while there. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated right away. Our server was Madison. We ordered the Chang's Spicy Chicken and the Combination Fried Rice. Madison was probably one of the best servers I've had. She was on point, friendly and a all around great server. The food was fresh and delicious. It was as good as a offsite PF Chang's. I usually find that an airport restaurant lacks in quality and service. Order nigori and it came in a wine glass. This is it how it is severed. It severs in the bottle over ice with small glasses. It's done this way to nigori being unfiltered and it need to be shaken constantly to prevent from separating properties and the unfurled nigori settling at the bottom. I have to ask for a spoon to stir it from steel wing in my wine glass. So unhappy and it's an unpleasant drink now. Never coming back due to an Asian restaurant not know who their own culture does this. Having a mast would also be a good touch as sushi alive in westchase does it right. I used to love P.F. Chang's. After this experience, I will most likely never go back. I ordered a to go meal when I picked it up the hostess told me the order was wrong/ not what I ordered. I asked her why they didn't fix she said I could still eat it. Seriously, .... Are you kidding me? Not only that, I ordered my standard beef and broccoli, which generally has been very tasty, very tender meat. The food is awesome! Lettuce wraps are my favorite. Their egg rolls are tasty! Everything they offer tastes great. You can't go wrong with the food. I've been to other PF Chang's and they all have the same high quality of food. The service at this location unfortunately needs help though. The waiter was inappropriately sarcastic, rude, and made us feel like we were stupid for asking questions about the food on the menu. While PF Chang's generally speaking is a mass-market Chinese food with good presentation but too much sugar, salt, etc. (everything tastes more like teriyaki sauce than soy sauce) ... that negative characteristic was more prominent at the PF Chang's in the Tampa International Airport. The hot & sour soup was excessively salty and dark, but certainly good enough to eat (not great, but ok). On the other hand, the combo fried rice was expensive and way too sweet and salty. It tasted like the kind of pre-made Chinese sauces you get in an American grocery store -- and that was kind of gross. The service was indifferent - fast but impersonal. That may be good for an airport, but it's not the relaxing dining experience it looks like from the outside. So I guess if you have time to kill at Tampa International, and you want a real meal, PF Chang's is worthy of consideration - but keep your expectations low, and prepare for lots of sodium and sugar in your food. read more

I have quite a few meals at Chang's because I travel so much for work. For the most part their meals are consistent and not often they fall well below standards. If you know me, I can complain with the best of them. This meal today was by far THE BEST meal I ever had at a Chang's restaurant. The chicken was perfect with the exact spice, the pan fried pork dumplings were delish and perfect. I also had an order of chicken fried rice that was just as delish. I wish the orders were a bit smaller and you could upgrade the rice from white or brown to fried. I also think the chicken in the rice needs to be cut quite a bit smaller for a rice dish. Lastly I also think your lemonade mixture is off, it was very watered in taste. The service was great and staff was personable. The GM personally asked how the meal was and the Corporate Chef who oversees ALL of their international stores also came out to greet me.
