The groomers are unable to handle the dogs well. They try to do too many things at once and end up doing nothing well.

I stopped in here today to burn some time and it was alright. I had been before when I got a new cat and found what I needed, but today I was looking for a cat harness that was safe and all I found were basic harnesses, no vest harnesses. I checked the dog section just in case but they only had large ones, no extra smalls. I ended up just getting some individual packs of wet food so I can try some new flavors with my picky eater cat. Before I left I had to go to the bathroom, which is in the back of the store on the right side. It didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. It got the job done but I didn't feel super sanitary while I was in there. The rest of the store was about the same level of cleanliness - it could use a good sweeping and mopping. The people working there are nice and friendly. The cashier I had was brand new, it was her first day so she made a couple mistakes but she was super sweet and apologetic. The store is part of a shopping center so there's a huge parking lot with plenty of open spots to choose from. There's a light to get in and out so it's super easy to access too. Overall this PetSmart is just fine. It'll do in a pinch (depending on what you need) but next time I would rather go to a small business instead. read more

I used the training services with Kira and my pup has become one of the most well behaved dogs ever. I've also bonded with my dog in a way that even working from home couldn't do - we are now able to communicate. The training (we did all three - beginner, intermediate, advanced, plus brain games) was almost more for me than my pup. I learned how to listen to her needs, how to communicate my needs to her, and learned the building blocks to help teach her new things. Kira is amazing and I recommend using her training even if you don't think you "need it". It's a fantastic experience with your pup and you meet great people along the way! read more

My puppy, Willow, and I just completed the Beginner Training class at the South Eugene PetSmart in Eugene, Oregon. I identify as cat person, and when I adopted this sweet puppy, I thought to myself - "Oh no, I want her to be trained, but I do not know how to do this!' So, we enrolled in the Beginner Training class. Kira Ingram was our trainer, and she did an excellent job. With her guidance and instruction, I was able to gain confidence in training my dog. Kira made the class fun for both the canines and their humans! She is extremely knowledgeable, and her instruction was fun and easy to understand. I had no problem being able to follow through at home. Plus, she made me, this cat person, feel absolutely comfortable in asking even the dumbest of questions. Kira Ingram gets high marks from me-10 out of 10 !! read more

Lola was our groomer not sure if I spelt her name correctly but let me just start of by saying she did an extraordinary job and took such good care of Fynn. After looking around trying to find a groomer that worked for us we will look no further. Her customer service was excellent and I really appreciate how she worked her magic! If you have a wire haired terrier with a double coat, don't get your dog groomed here. I have an Irish terrier and they shaved her beard. If you consider yourself a groomer, you ought to know that YOU DO NOT CLIP WIRE HAIR. and the employee who did it refused to take accountability. As if I don't know what my own dog's lovely wire coat looks like.... And they charged me for it. On top of this, I was charged an additional $20 for the hemp conditioner, which I did NOT ask for and they didn't ask if I wanted it. Annoying to say the least. Note: the entire bottle of hemp conditioner that they sell on the shelf is $15.99.... It took 6 months for my dogs hair to grow back. Basically they were total assholes to me. Ridiculous! We have taken our 2.38 pound Shorkie to the Willamette store for grooming. One time they got it right. This last time, our girl's 2 to 3 hour appointment ended up being 5 hours...and they basically scalped her! They turned her into a shorthair without so much as a phone call. When I arrived to pick her up, no one would come out for about 10 minutes, even though the groomer had just called to say she was ready. Then, her groomer hid in the back while some other lady brought my now naked puppy out and let me know that the groomer had turned her over to the manager "to finish up"! I have taken my dogs here several times, mostly based on convenience of scheduling and location. I always do a nail trim and ear cleaning and when I get home and really take a closer look at their work, you can barely tell that anything's been done. I've even asked when picking my dogs up about getting their nails shorter but I've been told that's as close as they can get. The girl that did the grooming was named Aly and even her own manager agreed it was uneven and told us to go somewhere else. No compensation offered for extra Vet and medicine bills, just passed the buck to Lucky Paws which ignored the same request. Now all the rest of the animals in the house have it. BUYER BEWARE. This happened a few months ago, but I just received a call asking me about scheduling another appointment and I would hate for someone else to have an experience that I had. So up until about three months ago, I would take my 16 year old, 5 pound yorkie here for usual grooming appointments over the past two years. I've had her for her entire life, and take her to be groomed about four times a year. Every time I've picked her up (whether here or elsewhere) everyone says she was either sweet, easy to handle, etc. BUT, this last time I took her in to be seen by a new groomer because it was the only time I could fit it into my schedule (mistake #1). There were a few reg flags right off the bat. I came in five minutes late and was told they almost canceled my appointment because they need a full three hours. My dog is five pounds. There's no way it takes three hours to trim her hair and give her a bath, so odds are she's in a cage for most of the time she's there. When I picked her up in the past, they usually give me a pamphlet about how her overall status was. This time, I did not receive one and was told they had to hand trim her because she would not hold still and was attacking the trimmers. When I told them this wasn't normal, they told me I should consider getting her groomed by a vet SO SHE DOESNT GET HURT and they would be "ever so willing" to try one more time, but if it happened again we would not be welcomed back. When we got home, she hid under my desk and in the corner for a few days, wouldn't get excited to go for a walk, and tried to nip my boyfriend who she loves to sleep next to (this has never happened with anyone in the whole 16 years I've had her!). Clearly, something happened while she was there. My dog has never had an issue being groomed, and has never behaved in such a way where she was SCARED by everyone, when she is really a very loving dog. Regardless, I won't ever be returning to this store because I would never want my VERY senior dog to experience what I can only think was some sort of abuse, again. read more

My four year old and I came here this passed weekend to add some fish to our tank. We picked two Dalmatian mollies and one more guppy. By the time we got in the car one of the mollies was dead. We went back in and got a replacement one without him noticing luckily, and within an hour of being home another had died!!! And the other Dalmatian Molly died that night. The guppy died the next day. All of our other fish in our tank are fine and I am pretty experience with fish and know what I am doing. I figured maybe mollies just weren't a very active fish, turns out all of them at this PetSmart must be sick or weak with how lethargic they are and not being able to handle the move, and all died. Three dead fish later, we could not be more disappointed with PetSmarts complete neglect of these poor fish. Their return policy with fish is ridiculous too. You have to bring it back, dead, for a refund or replacement as if I'm going to drag my 4 year old all the way back here with all his dead fish. It was a horrible and heartbreaking experience. We will never buy fish from here again. read more

I understand results are going to vary with so many different PetSmart staff groomers (occasional nicks or haircut issues), however, a primary reason one pays to groom Standard poodles is to have the hair between their feet shaved to remove burs, keep dirt and grime out of your home, and most importantly to inspect the health of their paws. The groomers here refuse to shave the hair under their paw, despite its a primary feature of Standard Poodle grooming. There appears to be an issue with service that in the future I'll take elsewhere. I was told my female was too old and my male (only 5). Nonsense, I frequently groom them myself. This response is unacceptable and doesn't cut it. As a veteran with 100's of parachute jumps, multiple back surgeries, and 3 times the groomer's ages that are employed there can manage to bend and trim my dog's paws, they can. They are either lazy or don't appear to care, despite my specific request to my groom my dog's paws for this $140.00 grooming service. Yes, yes, I know. There are several hippie pet shoppes in Southtowne that are in a two-block radius to this ol' PetSmart. But I like it here. Let me tell you why. For starters, they have great service. The folks running the check stands are friendly, if not overly focused on the doggies. Case in point, they will pay people no mind, in fact --not even remember them sometimes-- but they will snackify your dog at every turn. Also, the basics are here for a reasonable price. USA bones and chewies, tons of food options, dog beds, shampoos, flea/tick/skeeter meds, you name it. Although Costco might be cheaper, I don't like crossing the river unless I have to. And Petsmart is close enough on prices that I don't feel like wasting the gas. read more

WORST GROOMING TEAM I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!! Not only do they do a terrible job actually grooming him, but their customer service is atrocious. I can't even think of a way to express how terrible these employees are. Today I had Brittney be the one who groomed him, and he looks worse than I have ever seen him. Brittney was perfectly nice, I do give her that, she was the ONLY NICE ONE, but I have no idea what could have gone so horribly wrong to have this outcome. She even told me that any tangles he had she would be able to comb out NO PROBLEM. His face is so uneven and their are dirt stains all over his body and he doesn't even smell nice! Keep in mind that he didn't even go into the groomer super dirty or anything, it was mainly just because his fur was getting way too long. This grooming session took nearly 5 HOURS for a 8 pound, well kept up dog to be groomed!? Clearly something is wrong there. They also NEVER CALLED TO TELL ME HE WAS DONE and they apparently had to take him to the vet because "his skin was oozing"!??!?! I have had this dog for over 6 years AND THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED. When I asked why she essentially told me it was my fault because I probably tried to "shave a tangle out of his fur and cut him"... I don't even have a shaver for a dog so that is impossible, and after I told her this she said that the vet (Banfield in Petsmart) told her that sometimes this kind of dog (maltese) sometimes have their skin "ooze" for no reason... WHAT? He is not allergic to anything and it is clear that they just shaved his paws WAY TOO CLOSE and that is why the skin got burnt and puss came out because they were just too rough with him. I would have understood a grooming accident like that BUT THEY DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME, I had to call and ask what in the world was going on that was taking so long, especially because it was in the middle of a Wednesday so they were very slow in business. I have pictures of how these burns look. I paid nearly $50 for my dog to look 10 times worse than he has ever looked before. I asked the front desk lady why he was so uneven (so hopefully she would give me a reason such as a tangle in a certain locations that they had to get out or SOMETHING to explain this) and all she said was "I am not the one who groomed him" and literally scoffed in my face about it. I politely told her that I know that but I was still wondering why. She then took my dog away from me and didn't say anything, and took him to another groomer in the back and just held him there in place while the other took SCISSORS TO HIS FACE AND EYES and he was clearly uncomfortable and they just forced it and it was incredibly unsafe and just PROVES that his leg injuries were entirely their fault because they probably were not following safety guidelines for the dogs there, as clearly shown in front of me. She (the front desk groomer) was the rudest worker I have EVER encountered AT ANY STORE IN GENERAL. I have come in multiple times and she is always a horrible person to talk to and be around (and not only to me, but to other clients in their) every single time I ever come in. I understand people having "bad days" but it is ALL THE TIME! I then went out to pay for this hideous job and the cashier was so rude too, but nothing out of the ordinary i-hate-my-job attitude. This was so bad that I left the store and instantly just started crying in my car in the parking lot. I feel so bad that I put my dog through this, and I feel bad that I have wasted so much on this. I love PetSmart as a store and I am on the BanField Care program and I don't think I can go back to this store at all because of how horribly my dog and I were treated by these employees. Just filed complaint about the staff I talked to this morning 5/4/2020 at 9:30am in grooming section. I have Great Pyrenees 130 lbs 1yr 7month NOT neutered. We are aware we need to have him neutered but we just moved in OR recently and starting to get settled. Finding best places to get our dog is hard esp we live in Coos bay. We even drive all the way to Eugene for him to get groomed. We had an appontment for neutering but stuff happened and then came COVID..anyway This is her respond "oh WOW,not neutered" after setting appntmnt she thought we hang up after she hang up her phone sounding like she smashed the phone and her coworker asked her why "well she has a Great Pyrenees 130 lbs 1yr7mos not neutered and I was like..to be honest I was just like" and the guy just started laughing so loud I was shaking.. too long but I'm just waiting for their Respond. We took our Labradoodles for grooming for the first time here since my daughter brought them from home while at college, and the service was outstanding! A special shout out to Brittney who was fantastic with the pups and did an outstanding job on dogs that very easy to groom. We've been to many PetSmarts in the Bay and LA areas, but this was the best yet. Highly recommended. And the online booking is great and easy as a bonus! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. When I was in the store one day I witnessed a female manager being very rude to a customer. I mean really is that even necessary? You are just a low level manager at a pet store so that doesn't give you the right to be so rude. I regret not stepping in and at least getting her name. If I could give less than one star, I would. I have taken my dog here three times. He will not be going again. I scheduled an appointment, same day, on Saturday. The girl said she could get him in for a shampoo and brush. When I arrived, they said they accidentally booked it for the following week. The women talking to me was unapologetic and short with me. She said she could take me the following day. I told her I had just called an hour earlier and it was not convenient to just come back. She begrudgingly offered me a discount. When I came the next day, my dog was unusually nervous and didn't want to go with the groomer. This is not like him. He even loves his vet! When I came back to pick him up, he wanted out of there so badly. Again, not like him. Just wonder why he doesn't like it there. Then they gave me the bill and charged me more than the website price. I told them what it was on the website and she said it's more on the weekends. I told them they should clearly state that on their website. Neither woman at the counter seemed to care or apologize. Not the customer service pet owners deserve. Will not go back and will let my friends and family know the same. read more
