No explanation just sorry we are closed 3 hours early

Says open until 9pm but they have a sign on the door with different hours and closes at 6pm. 5 different people walked up to the doors to find out they closed early

They had the cutest little fish tank set ups and the mousey was soooo cute! Very cool variety of fish here

I am writing this review in hopes that Petco will run their Gateway location in a way where people can safely shop there. I visited the Gateway location with my daughter and grandson. He wanted a fish so we headed to the Aquatic section. I am disabled so I use a cane to help me walk. We were wearing masks and social distancing but it quickly went sour. The staff on July 4th 2020 were not Social Distancing and here comes the reason for this review. The "Aquatics Manger" was walking around without a mask and not Socially Distancing. Not to mention she was cleaning tanks so there was a wet floor and a garden hose covering the crammed fish section. This woman got so close to me while my back was turned, that she grazed my shoulder and said " Sorry." She had no mask on and was not socially distancing at all! My daughter, grandson and myself moved away. From afar I asked the unmasked " Aquatics Manager" if we could get someone to help us get some fish? This woman said it was her department so she could help us. I said I needed an employee wearing a mask to help us. This Pet Co employee told us she was "Medically Exempt" so she did not need to wear a mask. I replied that I am a " compromised" individual who is 8 days out til I have surgery. I can not, nor anyone else be exposed to someone not wearing a mask! The Pet Co employee became instantly irritated with me and grabbed her phone and said "Sure I will get you someone but they won't be aquatic." Eye roll and disrespect is what I received from her. All the while the floor is wet and a hose is a huge trip, slip hazard zone especially for disabled people such as myself. I went to ask for the Manager but nobody came and no one said anything. My family and I will not return to Pet Co ever again. If that employee can't wear a mask then please lay her off. Pet Co at the Springfield location is compromising the health and safety of the general public. 1. Wet Floor 2. Long hose on the floor that did not have a wet floor caution sign. 3. An Employee not wearing a mask. 4. Employees not Social Distancing. The attitude, lack of a Manager to appear when called for and no employees who said " sorry for the wait" " The Manager will be just a moment." I wear a mask, social distance and stay home as much as I can. My grandson had two fish die so we wanted to make him happy but we ended up being treated badly and COVID is no joke. I am 8 days away from surgery and that Pet Co worker could have exposed me amongst others to something that could cause my surgery to be put on hold or make the general public sick or just classic slip and fall case due to the water on the floor and the at least 8 ft hose strung all over the floor and wrapped around shelves. PetCo.......Why? To Jennifer an employee of PetCo, I am glad you saw my review but the response seems very generic almost like a computer responded. Having that employee working on the floor in your store is dangerous to the general public. The lack of social distancing is a danger to the general public. Not to mention the way the said employee's attitude towards us is highly unprofessional. COVID is serious and your company, by my recent visit, shows me that PetCo is not taking proper precautions at the Gateway location. For the reasons I mentioned my family and I shall not return. I have shared my story with many friends and they don't feel safe to shop there either. The health of patrons should be respect instead of being disrespected. Your employee without the mask jeopardized patrons by 1. No mask 2. Having a wet floor with no " Wet Floor" signs 3. Letting a hose lay on the stores floor which was extremely hard for me to get around because I have a disability. The hose was wrapped around a display and laid on the floor with multiple tripping hazards. 4. I asked to speak with the manager and no one came or updated me if the manager was coming in a minute or two. I was ignored. So here comes the major problems.......COVID precautions were not taken, trip hazards, wet floor without signs and the staffs demeanor. I think a response to my review should me treated very seriously instead of getting a basic computer generated response.

Nothing that sets this store apart from other petcos but they have generally good service and selection. Staff is respectful, prompt and friendly. Kitty litter refill station as well as treat (price by the pounds) for dogs. Food variety from puppy to senior but no giant breed food. Kitties to adopt. Treats, reptiles, fish, birds, ect.

Some of their exclusive grain free foods. Princess love's Granny's chicken pot pie.

I have been to this Petco a few times now, and I love it. I like this store because they seem to be stocked with more variety than their other store. Their staff is pretty well trained and seems to be knowledgeable about the foods they have, and it is service with a smile. I recently had to change to a salmon based food for my fluff ball and went to many different pet food stores looking for 2-3 different brands. I had been researching them for skin issues. Petco carries Merrick, which was one of the brands. The lady helping me out said if my picky dog does not like the food then I can take it back. Well I bought her the salmon treats, dry food, and the wet food. Well she only likes the dry food. Looks like I need to make a trip back to try out another brand of wet salmon. Shhhh don't tell her but she is an old lady at almost 16 human years, and doggy well.... We won't go there. My Princess is already showing signs of skin relief with it being a week and a half. She has never suffered skin issues, until now. I hope making the switch to the salmon food will help. I live on the other side of town, and feel it is worth the drive to this store just for the service, and the variety they have to offer.

Staff should have knowledge of for-sale-pets if they're in charge of that animals well being.

Hopefully they figured it out. WE took our two Westies here to be groomed after my having such an awful time at Oh My Dog. WELL. WONDERFUL. That's all. Sarah was a groomer, and she was FAN.TASTIC. I used to show Westies - I KNOW I'm picky. I know not every groomer knows breed standards. I have made concessions for that in the past. With Sarah, I didn't have to. She was so detailed, and made SURE she knew what I wanted and expected. And didn't treat me like I was overbearing for asking for what I wanted. I paid $98 for both dogs - and couldn't be happier. She knows dogs. She's friendly. She's precise. She's professional. She frankly, saved my idea of finding a real groomer in Eugene. As far as the shop, I love all the swanky puppy toys and treats. It can be a bit pricey, but it's a specialty store, and if I'm looking for frilly and fun, I KNOW where I can get it. Frankly, as long as they keep Sarah, I'll MAKE a point to go in and spend. I get my pups toothbrushes there too - and even when I'm only spending $1.50 - they're still nice and grateful. Love this place.

I recognized her last name and realized I was in the right place. I will never for get the first phone call with LeeAnn and I cried through the whole phone conversation. I think I answered a couple of questions. One thing I didn't like about other dog trainers that I tried was all the games and confusing dog training style .With my very first appointment with them, they knew the problem and got on it immediately to help me and my lab. They were very good with helping me when I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the right thing. They are amazing. I took every class they recommended. I also did doggie day care with training two days a week for a month. I now have the very best relationship with my boy. The only place he stays when I go out of town and can't take him with is with LeeAnn and her team. He also has doggie daycare days. We are like family. I would highly recommend them for any of your dog care needs.
