I'm a first time puppy owner and I don't know what to do with him. I was scrolling through Instagram came across Curious K9 and I thought ok I'll give them a try. I recognized her last name and realized I was in the right place. I will never for get the first phone call with LeeAnn and I cried through the whole phone conversation. I think I answered a couple of questions. One thing I didn't like about other dog trainers that I tried was all the games and confusing dog training style .With my very first appointment with them, they knew the problem and got on it immediately to help me and my lab. They were very good with helping me when I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the right thing. They are amazing. I took every class they recommended. I also did doggie day care with training two days a week for a month. I now have the very best relationship with my boy. The only place he stays when I go out of town and can't take him with is with LeeAnn and her team. He also has doggie daycare days. We are like family. I would highly recommend them for any of your dog care needs.

I also realized the second class would be the day after Labor Day which company would be here visiting. So the morning of the first "evening" puppy class I called Training Spot, explained my dilemma of a sick pup and company explaining we'd miss two classes. I asked if we could switch to a few private classes, I was willing to pay extra, was NOT asking for a refund. They would NOT accommodate me, I had to give at least a 48 hour notice. Period. If only my puppy could have given me a 48 hour notice she was going to be sick. Would not recommend.

She loves the interaction with the other dogs, and cones home thoroughly exhausted from playing so hard. She loves all of the staff and is excited to arrive every time we bring her. She's also been boarded at the facility many times. I trust the facility and the staff 100%. The facility is clean and very well managed. Recently we went to pick up Steve and found that the staff had made Christmas gifts from our pets. The thoughtfulness of that gesture almost brought tears to my eyes. See picture.

He is doing great with Nate's guidance. Rachel and her staff have worked with so much care and dedication in the last three months to help us help Bandit with these issues. We still have a ways to go. Rachel has researched ways to help Bandit that are above and beyond our expectations, and she made time to communicate with our Veterinarian. Opportunity Barks has been so positive and supportive to us. The daycare and kennel facilities at Opportunity Barks are fantastic. Rachel's private trainings include videos of the work we have done and have really helped us bring Bandit a long ways in a short amount of time.

I have a rescue basset I've had for 5 years. he's always been full of anxiety and had recently…read moreramped up to being fearful and causing destruction after a windstorm and he was no longer ok to leave home alone. He has been an only dog for 4 years now and while good with other dogs at the park, he wasn't social with them and preferred people. I decided to try doggie daycare. He wasn't thrilled at first, whining a lot and not social. The staff worked hard at trying to make it work for him and he got to where he was good for full days. They kept at it and found ways to redirect his anxiety and I was able to leave him for 5 days boarding while on a trip. He learned to play with others and settled in wonderfully. He used to hesitate when I left him, now he runs in excited and barking and doesn't look back! The facility is well organized, clean and comfortable, full of activities with ideal conditions for any dog. The staff is kind, caring, knowledgeable and proficient in dog training. Whether you're looking for quality, constructive play time for your dog, have a dog that needs socializing or training, I cannot recommend Opportunity Barks enough!

I had never been to any dog training…read moreclasses before and I am so glad that I was able to start off with someone as passionate and experienced as Debbie. I was looking for a trainer that focuses on positive reinforcement and who provided a safe environment for my dog. My number one concern with any kind of service provider for my pets is that I feel that I can trust them. I absolutely trust Debbie's judgement, safety/cleanliness protocols, and that she truly cares about the wellbeing of all the dogs in her classes. I brought home my dog at 1.5 years old after he was bounced around through multiple homes, so he had plenty of time in his formative first 18 months of life to create habits and default behaviors which did not serve him. He had no emotional regulation when it came to his excitability. I knew he was only happy and eager when he saw other dogs, but I also knew it could spook other dogs and that sort of chaotic energy can lead to defensive behaviors, something I wanted to avoid at all costs both for the safety of my dog as well as other dogs and their owners. We have seen a tremendous improvement in his excitability, so much so that friends, family and even my vet have commented on the improvement. We still have work to do, but I am now able to take him to a wider variety of places as well as able to take him on walks which I wasn't able to do before. He is a calmer, happier dog. And I am a calmer, happier owner now that I have tools and knowledge that I can implement in real life, which is so much easier to do after being able to practice these things in a safe, controlled class environment. Debbie has been nothing but positive, patient, helpful and insightful. She explains the whats and the whys. In getting the experience of practicing these training games and in learning from her talks both at class and in the online training videos for her students which supplements in person classes, I have been able to get a deeper, hands on understanding of those whats and the whys. If you are looking for a trustworthy trainer who works to truly modify your dogs behavior on a deeper level by changing their emotions and associations through positive reinforcement, then Debbie is for you! Also, I see another reviewer putting down Debbie's basement suite training location. I can't help but think that is a silly criticism because the basement suite does so much to block out outside sounds and sights that could interfere with training for reactive dogs. It makes it so much easier to keep my dog focused on the task at hand!!
