We've been bringing our golden retriever to Bare Bones Dog Wash on Amazon Drive for grooming for a couple of years now, and we couldn't be happier. She always comes back looking beautiful. Piper does more than just bathe her--she carefully removes the knots that form in the longer parts of her fur, thoroughly cleans her ears, clips her nails, and trims the hair over and between her toes and pads. Piper listens closely to our requests and consistently delivers excellent results. It is pricier than the pet stores but worth it. If you don't wish to pay for a groomer, you can always use their facilities to bathe and groom your dog yourself as the place has two separate areas for DIY grooming and then Piper and her crew. read more

The first time I visited this business, I took my 2 year old dog "Whiskey" for a drop-in Nail Trim Appt on Friday. We went there first thing in the morning, and we got assistance from someone (Sorry, I don't remember her name) but she was really proficient and helpful in making it a positive experience for my Dog. The other times we have visited have been for my littlest- dog "Maya" for dog grooming appointments and those have been with Kaitlynn. Kaitlynn is so great with handling my senior, curmudgeon little dog. Maya is ornery to begin with, and snarky- I mean she is 16 years old, so it makes sense! But, she also has had numerous, traumatic grooming experiences in her life. Making her even more difficult to work with! But, I am impressed that Kaitlynn handles Miss Maya, and she always comes out looking pretty and smelling so clean! Also in addition to the great staff- they have a super fun "Bone Bar" and if you re-use the same container you get a dollar off/or 10% off something like that. ANd, plus it is nice to have a little less waste and re-use the same container. But, all 3 of my doggos love the treats from the Bone Bar! I have to get the small pumpkin and blueberry stars for Maya - cuz she doesn't have teeth to chew bigger ones. But, my other two pups love the flavors. It is a really cute ritual getting to try each of the flavors- I sniff them and they are really unique. Like Blueberry Pancakes is one of my favorites, and you can smell the maple syrup on it! But, something about these treats are more special than other treats in my household! I highly recommend this place! read more

She went above and beyond to call me back to let me know how many days it would take to process the deposit refund. We love bare bones dog wash! My baby girl Pinky doesn't always do swell at the groomers but Piper does a great job at keeping her relaxed during her appointments. Piper even let's me bring one of my sweatshirts for pinky to keep with her while she's getting groomed. That little touch and special attention has made a world of difference for Pinky and I appreciated Pipers commitment to making her feel safe and comfortable. In addition to the excellent customer service, Bare Bones is always super time-efficient and does a thorough wash/grooming every time. I appreciate that they don't make your dog wait around anxiously in a crate and that they call you immediately once their done. 10/10 would recommend. When you go, ask for Piper! read more

Where do I even start??? BEWARE OF THIS "DOG GROOMING PLACE." Piper Downing the owner is very rude and is very defensive if you have any concerns or complaints on her work or staffs work. I have attached some photos of our dog's grooming that was done by a new groomer named Kaitlyn. My appointment was with Piper but when we brought our dog we were told another groomer not Piper would be grooming her. We brushed out her ears and tail and it was not matted. Kaitlyn shaved her completely down to her skin!! Coco has a horrible rash on her skin because she was shaved so close to her skin. She is cut uneven some places are longer than others some places are bald and her feet have long strains of fur coming out of her toes and her nails were not trimmed well. Her tail was shaved completely off to the skin. She has a rash on her backside where she was shaved down to her skin. I was horrified when I picked her up. I asked if Piper could call me and fix coco up. Piper called my husband and started yelling at him saying that we were rude to her staff and that she no longer wanted to see coco. This was not what happened. Instead of talking to us and trying to figure out what happened she accused me of being rude to her staff and making a bad situation worse. We use to bring our older dog to the previous owner who was kind and respectful. Since Piper has taken over things have gone down hill. Her staff is not helpful or kind. If you are looking for a kind groomer who is understanding, respectful and listens to what you want done with your pet do NOT go here. Worse experience I've ever had. I've never been treated or accused of something I've never done. read more

I also really appreciate that they provide everything you need (cotton balls, ear cleaning solution, brushes, nail clippers) all in a convenient station. Though, cotton balls/ear cleaning solution, at each station since it's essential would be nice. They're a bit pricer than my usual self-service and staff isn't as helpful. I love this place! I always come out here from Pleasant Hill because they are so friendly, I never have to wait, and they have a great selection of grooming tools to use. Some places don't even have brushed and this place has several types along with nail clippers and grooming sheers. They are always friendly and the price is great! I refuse to pay someone to wash my dogs; likewise, I refuse to fish huge clumps of wet, matted Labrador hair from my bathtub drain. The solution is simple--DIY Dog Wash. While Martha is a huge fan of swimming, she does not transfer that like of water to the bathing process. Thankfully, Bare Bones treats her well, makes her feel welcomed even as I lead her to the (as she sees it) slaughter. They do have a "rewards" program, which theoretically encourages animal hygiene. So far, it hasn't motived me (or Martha) to step up our campaign against dirty paws. Anyway, Bare Bones is convenient, the people are nice, and they do have a good selection of food and treats (even New Zealand lamb bits, which makes Emily homesick). read more

I took my small white Falcor-esque Maltese mix to two national parks on a road trip and let me tell you -- he was gray, filthy and smelly. We walked into Bare Bones and when we walked out he was totally transformed and dust free. Bare Bones is simply a very convenient and affordable way to get your dog back to his or herself. The service was excellent. Alex was super friendly and showed us the ropes. Now that my dog is squeaky clean, we can hold him like a human baby again. Just driving by - saw this dog wash place - luckily I had the smelly dog with me!!! This place is great - very reasonable - I have a small dog!! They helped me do her face - I haven't had a lot of luck there!! Lol. I dried her off with their blower then they set me up on a smaller table with a regular hair dryer to finish the job. I was even able to do a little trimming - it was so easy - and I get to leave the mess there rather than doing it at home!! They were very nice & willing to help. This might be our last time taking our dog to bare bones. We have been other times and with our other dog. Generally, we found the location to be great, the people mostly friendly and the washes are always great. This time, however, we brought in pictures (so as to avoid any confusion) and felt like we explained that we didn't want a short cut at all. In fact, any time this dog has been in, we stress wanting to keep his hair longer. (Even after all that, I came to pick up my dog and he was basically buzzed down. It was awful. Hair grows back, so obviously not the end of the world. However, instead of just apologizing for the miscommunication, the groomer mentioned she had to cut him because he was so matted. I know this isn't true. I brush him daily or every other day, additionally, he gets professionally groomed every 2-3 weeks. It was so insulting to have her throw that out there as a way to save her butt. I told her I didn't believe that and left it at that. I had to pay $75 for a bad cut and an unfair accusation. Next time, just apologize and offer some sort of good will. Excuses stink. Doesn't make me hopeful for future business. read more

I've taken my 2 small dogs there twice now, and my boys are for real a handful! They are rescues so they hate hate hate being left anywhere. Major anxiety, and they absolutely do not tolerate being separated. They always come home from Bare Bones happy! Peter (my pup) is willing to like anyone (a Labrador Retriever - of course) and really took to this place - before I moved I took him to a great place but he really didn't like going because of the crowed space - Bare Bones is a GREAT place, Peter is happy, I am ecstatic (because there is no hair or static) since he is so clean, happy and while not hairless - his shedding is so much less than when I do the grooming. My dog is afraid of everything, but after a few minutes of being in Bare Bones, she was frolicking around and having fun! Connie looked at her itchy, flaky coat and had just the right thing for it. After she got a luxurious bath with the emu shampoo, she was all better. She even stood still and let me blow dry her. This is a miracle. Her coat was so amazing for weeks after. She even got her face washed with no-tears shampoo and that was really nice. They have really good products and dogs love it there! read more

I have a Shih Tzu and a Havanese and have been going to Bare Bones for about 2 years.... I would give them 6 stars if I could! Maria is the best dog groomer I have ever been in contact with.... an excellent technician, friendly, observant, and and oh so gentle. She has great suggestions for 'cute looks', and always remembers my preferences. Love to use their self serve between groomings, staff have been more helpful. Took our Springer Spaniel in there, everyone was extremely nice. Sadly they really didnt listen to how I wanted my dog cut, and they bascially just cut him like you would see a show Springer Spaniel. We like the puppy cut on our dog, and asked for them to TRIM his feathers...he does not have feathers anymore :( and buzzed the tops of his ears. Not a big deal, I know hair grows back. But I do wish they had listened a little bit more. read more

I really wish I could give this place five stars, because everyone that works there is super friendly, the location is incredibly convenient, and my dog is always calm when I receive him. The first time I picked up my puppy he looked absolutely perfect. I would have given Bare Bones 6 stars if applicable. The second time, his paws and beard were too short. The cut was good and symmetrical and it was not disappointing enough to lose my business. I thought I had made it very clear that I didn't want any length taken off his beard, so the next time I took him there I thought that he would come back with his head untouched. I also asked for his lengthy topknot to be trimmed into bangs. When I received him, his body looked perfect, but his beard was trimmed (ugh) and what I thought would be sweeping bangs was buzzed into an extremely unattractive muffin top. My dog is adorable, but this $40 haircut makes him look ridiculous. Thankfully his hair grows fast so he will only look silly for a few weeks. read more
