I came in here last week to pick up a friend's dogs. Let me start by saying this said friend absolutely raves about this place. He literally lives within 400 yards of PetSmart, and brings his dogs in here instead for grooming. After a couple bad experiences at PetSmart with grooming, he found this place instead, and it's worth the drive. As I said, I went to pick up the dogs. I was immediately greeted by the staff when I walked up. They keep the doors locked, and a staff member comes out. Which keeps the dogs from being extra stressed and/or potentially escaping. So I like that. She brought me the dogs and I paid her. I didn't know if/how much the friend usually tipped, so I said I'm skipping that part. Which was fine. He took a cash tip in later. This was also a last minute appointment where they had a cancellation, or the groomer came in on her day off, I can't remember the specifics, and squeezed the dogs in. Which is awesome. This screams customer service, and going the extra mile to me. They let me know one of the dogs had a scratch on his paw when they gave him a bath, so we could keep an eye on it. I asked if it happened there or he had it before going in. Which the answer was before, and I'm pretty sure I know how it happened. But they seemed honest anyway, like if it had happened there, they would have told me. I love how stress-free it is for the dogs to go here for grooming. It's one of those noticeable things. Like, I've seen the dogs visibly agitated after going to PetSmart, and it can take a few hours to get them settled again. When I picked them up here, it was like any other normal day, and they got in the truck with me, and settled instantly. So that's a big deal to both me and my friend. Would I return here? Yes! I don't have dogs, so I'm not going unless it's to deal with my friend's dogs. But between everything he's told me and my own experience with his dogs here, it is an excellent business to support. My Maltipoo has a standing appointment every six weeks and they do a wonderful job with grooming my little rescue dog. We have been going to them for over two years now and although I don't remember how I found them but they never disappoint. My dog dislikes the process but always looks 100% better when I pick her up. read more

I am a new client and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. I have an older Miniature American Eskimo with tender skin and a pretty matted coat (lots of undercoat). The breed is also known for being "snippy" and he can be. Caitlyn (spelling) did an absolutely amazing job with him! This is only the 3rd time he's been professionally groomed and the first two times they didn't bother to try and comb him just cut it really ugly short. Caitlyn was patient and thorough and my pup looks GORGEOUS! She got ALL the mats out, trimmed his paws and rear beautifully and he smells pretty good too (not overly perfumed, thank you!). We've been taking our two ladies to Murphy's Paw since moving to Eugene. We don't have to go often since they're both short haired breeds/mutts but, when the doggy funk is too much for our level of expertise, we head to Murphy's Paw. The girls come out shiny and clean. Real clean, not wreaking of perfumey cover up. We've had several different groomers primp our pooches. Most recently it was McKayla who did the makeover. She was wonderful with our girls who are both rescues and tend to be a bit skittish. Murphy's Paw was the first place we tried when we moved here and we've never found a reason to go anywhere else. read more

We have a pit bull who hasn't had her nails trimmed in a really long time. The ladies at Murphy's Paw were amazing and were able to take on a not so happy pit bull to get her nails trimmed! This was Blossom's first visit to this grooming salon and I am soooo impressed! The deshedding treatment worked wonders. Her coat is soft and shiny and no loose hair left behind. Her nails are trimmed nice and short which is hard to do on a 130 pound Saint Bernard who hates getting her nails done. The salon itself is well kept and the staff are very friendly. This was my first visit to Murphy's Paw. I took my dog, Igor, in to have his toenails clipped. When I walked into the shop, I was impressed by its professional atmosphere. There were two dogs being groomed, and they looked very calm and happy. Since I didn't have or need an appointment for toenail cutting, one of the groomers gently put the dog she was grooming off the table, and walked over to my slightly nervous dog. She allow Igor to sniff her and then gently lifted him up and put him on the table. Her self assurance put my dog at ease, and she proceeded to clip his hind feet. When it came to the front feet, her partner came over and gently held and comforted Igor while his front toenails were clipped. Tammy came to my own home to trim the nails and cut off the intense dreadies on my 15yr old rescue cat. My kitty was far from being an easy job and Tammy was cool, collected and got the job done in record time given how upset my old kitty was! Really good experience today. I have been taking my 16 yr old Pomeranian to another groomer for years but now he just needs toenails and I do the rest. Murphy's is much closer to me. I was able to drop in and was out in probably 10 minutes. Only $8. The young lady was so good with my nervous old man and praised him the entire time. I've taken my dog to be groomed at Foxy Paw in Eugene in the past twice and both times, my dog came back with two nails (not paws- nails) trimmed, butchered paws and smelling kind of weird. I took my dog to Murphy's paw because of the reviews and the reviews truly speak to the quality and care they provide here. Upon arrival, I immediately felt better because I could see inside and I could see the dogs being groomed. When I picked up my dog, she was beautiful. All of her paws were uniform and nicely shaped and all of her nails were trimmed. They did an amazing job with the brush out for my very long-haired pup and she smelled fantastic. Their groomers were all super friendly when I got there and any time I've talked to anybody on the phone. I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in their care and their grooming skills are amazing. Della, my companion and I have tried most of the Doggy Beauty Salon's in Eugene and while some are decent many are sub-par. We met Emma when she worked at another salon and found her to be excellent in price, cut-style, and compatibility with Della. Della, has issues with trust like many rescued companions. However, upon meeting Emma the very first time she felt protected and did not bark or try to flee the salon. We have been going to Emma every three months and can state without hesitation that we would not use anyone else. Murphy's Paw is a perfect location with ample parking. First of all, I am extremely particular when it comes to our dogs. More so than I probably should be, or so my husband tells me! So when we found Kaitlyn at Murphy's Paw, I felt so lucky! She does an excellent job every time! But an even better recommendation comes from our dog, who can't wait to get to her as soon as he sees her! He gets so excited! I have a senior cat who had some heavy matting. Tammy was amazing. She got all the mats out in one swoop, gave kitty a sweet lion cut, trimmed her nails and used a waterless shampoo. All this was done within an hour. My kitty was so happy and so is her mom. I've already booked the next appointment. Kitty will have regular shaves to prevent any future mats. It's not easy to find a kind and experienced cat groomer. The pricing is very reasonable. read more

They were able to get both of my boys in for a nail trim the same day. I was nervous as my boys are picky about people but they were both very comfortable and oddly well behaved and I think it has to do with how kind and confident the groomers were. Will definitely go back again! read more
