Our family has been taking our Pomapoo to Sydney for 5 years now for his grooming every 5-8 weeks. For us, Petite Paws is very convenient being located just a block from our home, but we would drive across town to go there & get our dog groomed. The first time we brought him in we were obviously new dog owners and Sydney took the time when we went to pick him up to show us some home grooming tips. They have ALWAYS done a great job on him. Never a nick or even missed hair. Sydney is often there in the morning to greet us when we come in and our dog is almost instantly calmed when Sydney picks him up. Being a local small business owner myself, I try to support other local small businesses whenever possible. I can't say enough good things about Petite Paws. I would recommend then to anyone looking to get their pet groomed. read more

For the price we were charged for getting our dog groomed, (even more than Pet Smart!) we were kind of dismayed at the hair cut our Georgie (a Shih tzu) received. Her cut was choppy and uneven in places, and the hair around her face was barely trimmed at all. For the price we paid we expected a far more professional and polished pooch. read more

History

Established in 1995.

Owner Sydney Brooks attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in Geography. Following graduation she chose fur over land formations, enrolled in and graduated from grooming school, and has enjoyed every day since working with animals. She has been professionally grooming dogs and cats for more than 27 years.

A native Native of St. Louis, Missouri, Sydney has lived in Eugene for more than 33 years. In addition to her love of canines and felines, she is a avid horsewoman and rides regularly throughout Oregon.

He literally lives within 400 yards of PetSmart, and brings his dogs in here instead for grooming. After a couple bad experiences at PetSmart with grooming, he found this place instead, and it's worth the drive. As I said, I went to pick up the dogs. I was immediately greeted by the staff when I walked up. They keep the doors locked, and a staff member comes out. Which keeps the dogs from being extra stressed and/or potentially escaping. So I like that. She brought me the dogs and I paid her. I didn't know if/how much the friend usually tipped, so I said I'm skipping that part. Which was fine. He took a cash tip in later. This was also a last minute appointment where they had a cancellation, or the groomer came in on her day off, I can't remember the specifics, and squeezed the dogs in. Which is awesome. This screams customer service, and going the extra mile to me. They let me know one of the dogs had a scratch on his paw when they gave him a bath, so we could keep an eye on it. I asked if it happened there or he had it before going in. Which the answer was before, and I'm pretty sure I know how it happened. But they seemed honest anyway, like if it had happened there, they would have told me. I love how stress-free it is for the dogs to go here for grooming. It's one of those noticeable things. Like, I've seen the dogs visibly agitated after going to PetSmart, and it can take a few hours to get them settled again. When I picked them up here, it was like any other normal day, and they got in the truck with me, and settled instantly. So that's a big deal to both me and my friend. Would I return here? Yes! I don't have dogs, so I'm not going unless it's to deal with my friend's dogs. But between everything he's told me and my own experience with his dogs here, it is an excellent business to support. The staff clearly go out of the way and care about the dogs, and that's kind of everything to me. Review 37 of 2025.

Piper does more than just bathe her--she carefully removes the knots that form in the longer parts of her fur, thoroughly cleans her ears, clips her nails, and trims the hair over and between her toes and pads. Piper listens closely to our requests and consistently delivers excellent results. It is pricier than the pet stores but worth it. If you don't wish to pay for a groomer, you can always use their facilities to bathe and groom your dog yourself as the place has two separate areas for DIY grooming and then Piper and her crew.

Long story short, we've taken our pit to Groovy Grooming twice now…read more The first visit, she came home smelling amazing. Her nails were clipped properly and even sanded down, which we really appreciated. Overall, we were honestly impressed. But about a week later, she started having issues with her ears. We took her to the vet and found out she had a double ear infection. It was especially strange because she is never in water, so it didn't immediately cross our minds that it could be related to grooming. We paid the bill and moved on. About 6 weeks later, we decided to give them another try. Same great first impression, she looked and smelled amazing, nails done perfectly again, but then the same thing happened. Within about a week, her ears were bothering her again, and she ended up with another double ear infection. At that point, it no longer felt like a coincidence. I'm really disappointed because there are things they do well, but I'm concerned that proper precautions may not be taken to protect dogs' ears during grooming, especially around water. This resulted in two infections, two vet visits, and unnecessary discomfort for our dog. I truly wanted to love this place, but this was our experience. Sharing so other pet owners can be aware.

Mr Tux made it a quick Irish manx goodbye by developing heart disease and evidencing it only for his final week. He had stopped eating and we went in to see Dr Newman to see if perhaps he had megacolon or something fixable. When we got the bad news, fluid on his lungs and body mass loss, the entire staff was very well spoken and supportive. Tuxie could not have received better care!

BACKGROUND: I wanted a routine dental cleaning for my little girl. I was fine with the possibility of dental extractions, as my angel is a little bit older, and I know eventually it is inevitable. I have taken each of my cats into a vet - NOT THIS CLINIC (I moved from out of state) - in the past, and felt comfortable with the procedure. What I did not know is that, unlike other clinics I have have had great dental cleaning experiences in the past, the owner/ manager of this clinic DOES NOT KNOW and REFUSES or is incapable of understanding her business' "Dental Plan" financial structure. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU as a client: (1) You will be gaslit into accepting random pricing without justification. There was even an attempt to convince me that I should be happy they clipped my cat's nails for free while under anesthesia, versus the $50 they normally charge (that was the only itemized charge they disclosed to me). Ironically, during the previous visit, the veterinarian had commented that I "did a good job" clipping her nails. And nail clipping at ANY other vet has never surpassed $12. (2) You will not be able to submit a full insurance claim (ALL insurance companies require an itemized list of the pricing associated with the services provided). It would be like grocery shopping, seeing a total bill of $900, and never being able to verify WHY that total is what it is. ADDITIONALLY: The client to staff communication is horrible. Horrendous. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. I have been told 3 different things (price-wise, procedure-wise, practice-wise) on the same day that have nothing to do with an adjustment of a quote. poorly managed organization. Ultimately, I am not complaining about price (I can't refute it - the manager can't even explain her pricing), but LACK of QUALITY OF SERVICE. Virtually EVERY single visit was an "OOPS!" FINAL NOTES: I am happily with a new clinic, which I transferred to the day after my sweetie's appointment with this absolute mess of a clinic.

We've been taking our 2 standard poodles to Petite Paws since they were puppies (4 years), and went on the recommendation of another poodle owner. Our main concern was that we wanted to have groomers that would not scare our timid dogs, and would work with them to be comfortable with grooming. They have always been wonderful with our dogs, pointing out any health concerns that they see, giving home grooming tips, and loving our dogs. Early on, when one of our dogs was extremely timid, once or twice they did not push our dog beyond her comfort limits, and took the risk of upsetting the owners with a not-quite perfect groom to make sure that the dog was not traumatized. We really appreciate that, and over time our dog has gotten very comfortable at Petite Paws. We would unreservedly recommend Petite Paws to any dog owner. read more

I called Sydney at Petite Paws last year, as my family was gradually moving to Eugene from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ruggles was the second phase. I had just gotten him off of a plane, and was desperate to find a groomer. I did have him clipped once somewhere else, but they charged me an arm and a leg. I found Petite Paws through the yellow pages (I think), and called Sydney. She had an opening so I could bring my poor muttley in for a shampoo and shave ASAP. With a small poodle (7 lbs) who is a spoiled brat, one could make him look like a rat terrier or an emu with a monstrous poof. Well they were able to trim him beautifully and get him done in about 1/2 day. I would use this groomer ANYTIME. read more

I'm about as picky as you can get when it comes to my dog. She's been going to Petite Paws for over 10 years now and I can't say enough about the consistently good care she gets there. The shop is calm, the grooming is professional, and it's sort of like a day at the spa for my dog. I've been taking my dog to Petite Paws for years. They always make her comfortable, especially since she's older and needs a little extra care. I can't say enough good things about the shop. It's clean and quiet even when quite a few dogs are there. You can always tell when somebody loves what they're doing. Sydney does and I can't recommend they highly enough. read more
