Had a good experience once so we went back. Did not get the groomer we requested. They said her ears and legs were matted and had to be shaved. I explained she is brushed frequently and they told me to watch youtube videos to do it right. Said our dog should go to the vet for the "black gunky stuff" in her ears. Our dog had been to the vet 6 days previously for vaccines and exam- ears were good. Almost a week later and our dog still has razor burn on her privates and tips of her ears, which split and are scabbed over. read more

I've had dogs for several years now and we've been to several groomers. My little ones are guys that need monthly grooming. We have moved around a lot from AZ, CA and back to OR. We have been back and forth to and from Eugene over about 10 years and I've always trusted Send Rover Over. When we moved up to Portland, I looked at some Yelp reviews and thought I found a good choice for my little guys. I couldn't have been more wrong. We had an extremely tragic experience that left my dog needing emergency dental care, eye surgery and months and months of rehabilitation. I was terrified to take him to another groomer. After calling Send Rover Over and telling them the story of what happened to Maxwell, they went above and beyond to make sure that he and I both were comfortable with the grooming. Maxwell has gotten much better over the last few months and I will never take him to anyone else. Ever. So each and every month, we travel down from Portland just for grooming. Not all groomers or grooming establishments are created equal. We learned the hard way. Please don't ever trust just anyone with your animals. But also please know you CAN trust Send Rover Over. Today I called to make appointment for grooming again and like I said the staff are really friendly and remembered my dog name so I asked for appointment and they were giving me appointment for Saturday , the 17 Th and then she told me can I put on hold I said sure . Then she said that you missed your appointment on November 18 Th so we have to charge half of the money in advance that is our policy , not mention I took my dog for grooming several times there and paid theme never complained , after being a business owner myself seeing this type of business policy they are trying to enforce I tend to believe the other review being that they have no sense of customer service . Our Yorkshire Terrier, Quincy, has been seeing Ashley at Send Rover Over. She has been his groomer for the last year. Quincy always looks great. Ashley does as I ask, which is very important to me. I can see that mine will be the only bad review of this grooming business and specifically of its owner, Marit Vike's, business practices. We have taken our dogs for grooming with Marit off and on for about five years, returning only because she did a very good job on the grooming itself. However, we would periodically stop going there for two reasons, the most important being that we would occasionally find out after our dogs came home that they had been shaved much too closely in some area of their bodies--usually around their anuses--and sent home with raw abrasions that clearly had to have been painful to experience. To make matters even worse, after these occasional negative experiences, when we attempted to discuss our disappointment and dismay with Marit, we were always met with absolute denial on her part that she was responsible for these injuries. She would talk over us and make false claims that our dog(s) had come in for grooming already having been injured, which we knew to be untrue. She always had an excuse or a ready "story" and never once accepted responsibility for her actions, never once apologizing or offering to make amends in any way. The second reason we found other groomers periodically was because her prices became ridiculously expensive and totally out of line with other area grooming services. We have recently decided, after yet another experience where our dog came home with an open scrape, that we will never use this service again. Once again, we called and spoke to this business owner directly about this problem, and once again, we were met with falsehoods from her about the origin of the injury. We had brushed our dog only the day before taking him in for grooming, so we knew for a fact that he had not had this abrasion before taking him in for his appointment. Then, to add insult to injury, instead of listening to what we were trying to say to her, the owner hung up on us! I would encourage anyone who takes their dog in for grooming at this business to thoroughly check over his or her body afterward to be sure no injury has occurred. read more

I took my little yorkie in for the first time last week. I showed the lady at the desk a photo of what I wanted and she had me send her the pic so she could show the groomer. I also told her he may be a bit scared. He's only had 3 haircuts and hope he is ok for them. After about two hours she called me and said he was ready. I came to pick him up and was thrilled at how his cut looked. The groomer showed me pics she took of how he was so relaxed during the cut. I could tell they genuinely cared about my dog and he didn't seem traumatized either. I will be taking him here each time for his grooming. The women were very friendly and greeted me when I walked in the door and made sure to ask all the right questions about my dog's needs before I handed her over. I have a havanese/bichon mix who has been to many different groomers in the past 9 years but I can say with confidence that this is one of the top 3 best grooming businesses she has been to. UPDATE: The owner called me and apologized and scheduled a new grooming for Daisy. She said the day I reviewed below was crazy - a staff member had an emergency medical issue and an ambulance had to be called. I took Daisy in today and they did a great job. Very happy again. Thank you for addressing my concerns and making it right. It was a great follow-up for customer service. Well, I was thinking of giving them only 2 stars, but I bumped it up to 3 because they have been really stellar in the past. I hope the owners read this review and respond to it, at which point I will consider changing my rating. We have been taking our little dog baby in here for months, and have been really happy with the service. They seem to love her, they are always smiling and tell me how sweet and precious my baby is. In the past, they have done a really great job of giving her a haircut. But the last time I took her in, they were having a very busy day. First they called to tell me that it would be 3 hours longer than they originally thought because they were behind. Then they called me at 2:50 and asked if I could come get her by 3:00 because they were closing early for the day. So I rushed over to get her, and they weren't done with her haircut. They took her off the table and handed her to me, and she had't been brushed out or vacuumed off, so she shook cut hair all over my car as soon as I put her in it. Clearly they were rushed and didn't follow though all the steps they normally did. But then when I got her home I realized they hadn't done the cut I asked them to do - it was way too long, in addition to the fact that it was completely uneven and it looked terrible. To be fair I asked if I could bring her back in the next day to have them fix it and they said yes, but I have 3 kids at home with a lot of doctor visits and other miscellany that fill up our schedule and there was no time for me to take her back in. So after a week had passed because I couldn't take her back due to my schedule (and I feel that was on them because it should have been done right in the first place and I shouldn't have to make an extra trip to take her back) I just decided to cut her hair myself. What I take issue with is that they should have either rescheduled with me, stayed open until their normal time, or even just 15 minutes later, to do her haircut right, and they should have not done a half-assed job. Dog haircuts are super expensive and this place is a small business. It only takes one bad review to tank a reputation. They need to consider that the next time they decide to close early and not do their jobs. read more

We were a bit nervous taking our Shih Tzu puppy to get his first grooming and walking into the salon, he shook like a leaf. Ashley greeted us and took Tashi. Peeking anxiously around the corner we saw Tashi relaxed and happy just a couple of minutes later. Ashley did a wonderful job of grooming him and he even allowed her to use the sander on his nails, she is definitely a "dog whisperer" and we highly recommend her. We have been taking our almost 11yrs old King Charles Cavalier there for several years after our other groomer by our neighborhood closed. We have Bentley groomed in a field cut which makes it easier for us. All the ladies are polite, friendly and attentive. Our dog enjoys going and they have been very good about adapting changes we want do to seasons. Each appointment is put on his chart and discussed before they take him. He had health issues and they worked with those problems with no hesitation. I would recommend them highly. Great folks and great haircuts for our new Springer. They are busy for a reason. The folks doing the administration and the pet hair cuts are friendly, clearly love animals, and put lots of care into their jobs. Our pooch likes to run in tall brush and is a burr magnet. They not only eliminated all of the tangles, they had him looking like a champion when they were finished. As I left, they were working on three French Poodles. These dogs looked like those you would see in some AKC judging competition. Absolutely immaculate with these perfectly round globes cut out of their fur. My chihuahua is not thrilled about having his nails clipped, and when he gave them trouble (snarling, attempting to bite, etc), they gave me a call and waited until I could get there to continue working on him.
