I've been going to Precious Pets for a couple of years. Carol works with me and my timid dog to make things as stressfree as possible. I recommend her highly. She often brings her own dogs to work, and if their barking disturbs anyone then she let's them know to stop. Other reviewers may have observed this and not known that she was addressing her own dogs. I've never seen her be harsh to any dog. read more

This place is amazing. They were so good with my boy. Endor is a 5 year old 200 lb English mastiff and never went to the groomer before. I really needed a hand bathing him and they came through. He loved them. He does not like everyone. He participated with treats and was the goodest of good boys. They have the best prices and are just great. Don't go to the big places. I have been taking my raga muffin looking Pomeranian to Precious Pet's for years now. This is the only place my picky controlling Pom trusts. I used to take her to other places around town and not only were they expensive but she would be shaky, and her hair was cut. So my son actually suggested Precious Pets after the bad experiences at the other places and ever since then we have been hooked. Princess smells good when I pick her up, her paws look great, no bad cuts. It's nice to be able to call and she can usually get you right in with in a day or so. She is pretty fast and efficient at what she does. My only complaint is that I used to live down the road and now I live in Eugene and have to make the drive to Thurston. I moved probably 6 years ago so that's how long I have been making the drive. My Pom is 13 and like I said has been going here for years. read more

I called 3 days in advance to schedule for my little dogs nails to be clipped. When I arrived, I walked in and she asked 'Did you just call?' I said, 'No, I made an appointment', she then said, 'I usually have people call right before they come in', I thought that to be odd, my thought was 'why can't I come as scheduled, or at anytime? what are you hiding? ' The atmosphere was quiet, with several dogs in crates. The one dog she was grooming on a table was shaking bad, and was left unattended as she proceeded to take my dog to the other table to clip his nails, I asked if the dog was friendly and if I could pet him, saying, 'he seems nervous'. she said, ' you can pet him' and, 'He's old', as if all old dogs shake nervously. I noticed the other dogs seemed very sad, and quiet, just looking at me. The vibe was not good in my opinion. She handled my dog a bit rough for my liking, pulling his little leg towards her when he tried to pull away, and using a file with vigor. She then said, 'He's bleeding, but, he'll be fine.' She put something on his nails to stop the bleeding, without a concern of explanation to me. She handed me my dog and told me she only accepted cash. I will never go back to this establishment. I feel it is important to let other pet owners know about my experience, I also plan on making a report to animal humane society, as I see another reviewer has done. I take my cat to this nice lady to get shaved maybe twice or three times a year. My cat is long-haired and very matty by the time he gets to her because I am a broke pet owner. She never calls ASPCA on me though, and I appreciate that! ;) When I call to make an appointment she remembers who I am. She is usually open on the weekends which makes it super convenient and her price for shaving a cat is only $30. Most of the places I call charge at least twice that and plus they require that the cat have rabies shots and all this other crap. She is always busy when I go in there, but she still gets everything done in a very timely manner. It's a nice, independent business which I will frequent again. Her business is pretty out of the way, so that is a downside. I live in Eugene and she is clear over in Thurston, but the drive is worth it for the price and the lack of hoops you have to jump through just to get a cat a haircut. The only downside, is well, the haircut. My cat always kind of looks rather mangled by the time he leaves her place. But you know what? It's a haircut and I need it to be functional. I am not entering him into any sort of cat pageant or anything. I just need him to not be matty. I don't care if he's sort of uneven....everywhere. It's more fun to laugh at him when he walks by; he doesn't know, he's too busy wanting to be petted on his cute little nekked body. So go there to get your cat a sorta, kinda decent haircut. Her price can't be beat and she is super nice. Plus we should all try to support local small business when we can. P.S. I don't know how she gives dogs haircuts, but the ones I have seen her working on when I pick up my cat look really, really good. Besides, when the last time you shaved a cat? I have to say I read the reviews before visiting her and I was a little worried. I gave her a heads up that my 3 1/2 pound long-haired Chihuahua did not like her feet touched not due to trauma like a red in the review. I normally take her to Petco they put her on the table and it takes two people to get her nails. I took Lily to her she sat in her lap the owner did her thing she wasn't nerved out stressed or anything I was very impressed. She filed her nails walked around while filing. My dog is not socialized so I was amazed I will definitely go back again and I think she deserves good reviews. Thank you read more

Brought my dog here a couple of times. Was happy at first until our last visit wear something happened to our dog he did not bark for three weeks he would scour down if someone even raised their hand in conversation. It took him three weeks to snap out of whatever happened at that dog grooming visit. I called the next day and basically told I was crazy. I do not recommend them nor will my dogs ever go back. read more

If there was a ZERO I'd give it to this place. Creepy, unprofessional, unkept, "Children of the Corn", experience. She was odd when she retuned my call to schedule Kenni. I saw a calendar at church with the advertisement on it & I live close so I called. First thing I noticed when we walked in on Saturday morning was the OVERWHELMING SMELL OF FECES combined with the sound of plugin fans. It was DISGUSTING. I looked around & the place was dirty, unsanitary & unkept. The woman just stood in front of me and didn't say anything. She just stared at me when we walked in. I introduced myself and said Kenni and I were there for his appointment. She didn't tell me how long it would be, or what her services entailed... She didn't ask if he was vaccinated or ask for proof...just stared at me and said she was the only one there after I told her I spoke with someone the day before. I said OK... I told her I spoke to her the day before and that Kenni was there for a bath and his nails and she said his nails were included in the bath like I was supposed to know that. We were leaving...Then a man walked in with a little white dog who immediately came to me & let me pet her. She was scared & shaking. She went to the chair beside me & hid under it. What the heck?? Her owner said she only gets scared when she goes there!! Gee dude! Get a flippin clue & listen to your dog! There's obviously a reason why she's scared when she goes there! I sat down on the dirty couch and she asked me weirdly, "Oh, are you going to stay here?" I said I was going to sit on the couch for a minute. She then said something about a hair dryer, and then went & picked up my dog and put him in a cage while she wheeled a hair dryer into the back. I walked over to the cage & tried to open it as my dogs crying & it wouldn't open. We were leaving that nasty hellhole. I called out to her and she didn't answer. As I stated to go back there she came out from the back and I told her we were leaving. She just looked at me with this creepy scowl and then made some stupid comment about it being a good thing that he wasn't wet. Kiss it lady. It's a good thing I have self control against stupidity & disrespect. I grabbed my dog and got the hell out of there. I will never go back to that place. In fact I reported it as an unsanitary health hazard to animals & humans gracing that doorstep. It was the most disgusting experience I have ever encountered and I will not put my dog in a situation where he is susceptible to disease because of some irresponsible woman, in a place that reeks of crap & urine just because it's convenient to my location. My parents recently took our family dog, yellow lab/German Shepherd mix, to be groomed. The price was fair, she told my parents it would take a couple of hours when they made the appointment, which is fine. My dad dropped off our dog and she said it would take an hour, okay fine, my dad gets a call to pick him up and when he picks him he was still wet. When asked why he was still wet and being picked up her response was," I have other dogs to do today." They made an appointment so that shouldn't matter... then as she was bringing the dog to my dad he started to lift his leg to pee, not uncommon for a male but shows she probably didn't take him potty. She then proceeds to KICK MY PARENTS DOG because he started to pee. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HAVE TIME FOR YOUR PET AND DECIDES ITS OKAY TO KICK THEM. Terrible service. This place is filthy. There is cat and dog hair everywhere (I understand it's a pet groomer but it looks like the place hasn't been vacuumed in years). NOT a place for cats. It's a one room place and very small so all of the animals are packed close together. Dogs were a few feet away from my cat while he was getting "groomed". All she did was shave off big chunks of hair on his chest and couldn't complete the job but still charged full price. Yes she was a nice lady and I'm sure a great person, but I would never take my cat back there. I sat down on a chair while waiting and my pants were COVERED in animal hair. Went to Precious Pets for 41/2 years. She never did the job she said that she would do. The last time i took her she didn't do anything but bathe her and jagged cut her with some scissors - that was the last straw. Shes says she cuts nails, cleans out the ears, and cleans the anal glands. I don't know if she really ever did any of that, except her nails a little bit. Plus the place is dirty, dirty, dirty - hair all over the place. I feel real bad about it, because I like supporting local business, and she works so hard. It's really too bad. I hope she cleans up her act so we can try her again. Anyway, happy with the new groomer. read more
