Hire the Best Dog Trainer in Eugene/Spfld - Julia is an amazing dog whisperer. Our 8 yr old dog had…read moresome bad habits of barking excessively when he heard a noise outside or the doorbell rang. Julia showed us how to change that behavior and be the leader of the pack for our dog. He also was always underfoot (especially in the kitchen) which created tripping hazards. Within the first day of working with Julia our dog had created a new behavior and stayed out of the kitchen. We learned how to teach him how to be out of the kitchen without having to constantly yelling him "get out". Dogs don't understand that language. Julia is a pro at showing you what to do. We've already signed up for another session in a month and plan to attend her drop in play dates with other dogs. Thanks Julia for being so awesome!

Julia has a great teaching skill which is most important in dog training, as you're the one who is…read morereally going to be training your dog (after Julie is done training you). She has helped us with three very different dog personalities and sizes from a feisty/possessive 10 lb chihuahua to a submissive yet reactive 66 lb German Shepherd (and our little 14 lb terrier that just needs a little tweaking here and there). Julia's training style is not a positive/treat rewarding style per say-it's somewhat of a balance of btwn selective positive rewarding for "tricks" or abnormal behaviors (or fears) and quick corrections with tools (either a stick/extension of your arm or a specific style collar/leash that fits the needs of your dog). All 3 of our dogs have a different leash/collar & works perfect for each of them. The type of training is also about the mind set you're in. You don't wait to make corrections when they've done something wrong so many times that you're angry. You need to be focused and serious when you do have to correct. She also got us to kennel train when we're away which we didn't think would work out too well with our two small ones that have free roamed forever, but all three actually do very well and even sleep in there when we're home. Bottom line is if you're looking for a positive reward training only- that's not this. But if you're looking for something that strikes a balance but still allows you a great bond with your dog- then definitely try B the Leader.

Chrissy trained both my australian labradoodle and his sister who was adopted by a neighbor, before…read morewe took them home (they were puppies that we adopted from spring creek labradoodle). She did an amazing job. Both dogs came crate trained, fairly potty trained (as much as a puppy can be), trained to come at command, to sit, stay, etc. My favorite is "leave it". We can literally put a juicy piece of chicken right next to him and tell him to leave it and he will! Our puppy is now 7 months old and the best behaved puppy we could have hoped for. Everyone that meets him comments on how well behaved he is and what a good dog is. Chrissy clearly has a natural love for animals and we couldn't have been happier with the training.

Chrissy at CPT-Eugene is an excellent trainer! In our two years of searching for someone to help…read morewith training (currently advanced/task training) for our two year old service dog, Jada, we have had both group classes and privates with several local trainers in CA. It was a big commitment to travel to Eugene, OR for training, but well worth it. We gained valuable skills and insights that we can continue to use to improve our communication, relationship, and results with our service dog. With my daughter's daily practice between lessons, we saw immediate improvement in Jada's ability to learn, general behavior, and enthusiasm to work. CPT uses a balanced approach and customized plan for training that is scientifically based. We met with Chrissy in-person for our training, but I would be 100% confident to also recommend her for the board-and-train service as well. She is a competent trainer who cares about your dog's well-being in the training process; she will do right by your pup!
