I recognized her last name and realized I was in the right place. I will never for get the first phone call with LeeAnn and I cried through the whole phone conversation. I think I answered a couple of questions. One thing I didn't like about other dog trainers that I tried was all the games and confusing dog training style .With my very first appointment with them, they knew the problem and got on it immediately to help me and my lab. They were very good with helping me when I wasn't quite sure if I was doing the right thing. They are amazing. I took every class they recommended. I also did doggie day care with training two days a week for a month. I now have the very best relationship with my boy. The only place he stays when I go out of town and can't take him with is with LeeAnn and her team. He also has doggie daycare days. We are like family. She did an amazing job. Both dogs came crate trained, fairly potty trained (as much as a puppy can be), trained to come at command, to sit, stay, etc. My favorite is "leave it". We can literally put a juicy piece of chicken right next to him and tell him to leave it and he will! Our puppy is now 7 months old and the best behaved puppy we could have hoped for. Everyone that meets him comments on how well behaved he is and what a good dog is. Chrissy clearly has a natural love for animals and we couldn't have been happier with the training.

I was looking for a trainer that focuses on positive reinforcement and who provided a safe environment for my dog. My number one concern with any kind of service provider for my pets is that I feel that I can trust them. I absolutely trust Debbie's judgement, safety/cleanliness protocols, and that she truly cares about the wellbeing of all the dogs in her classes. I brought home my dog at 1.5 years old after he was bounced around through multiple homes, so he had plenty of time in his formative first 18 months of life to create habits and default behaviors which did not serve him. He had no emotional regulation when it came to his excitability. I knew he was only happy and eager when he saw other dogs, but I also knew it could spook other dogs and that sort of chaotic energy can lead to defensive behaviors, something I wanted to avoid at all costs both for the safety of my dog as well as other dogs and their owners. We have seen a tremendous improvement in his excitability, so much so that friends, family and even my vet have commented on the improvement. We still have work to do, but I am now able to take him to a wider variety of places as well as able to take him on walks which I wasn't able to do before. He is a calmer, happier dog. And I am a calmer, happier owner now that I have tools and knowledge that I can implement in real life, which is so much easier to do after being able to practice these things in a safe, controlled class environment. Debbie has been nothing but positive, patient, helpful and insightful. She explains the whats and the whys. In getting the experience of practicing these training games and in learning from her talks both at class and in the online training videos for her students which supplements in person classes, I have been able to get a deeper, hands on understanding of those whats and the whys. If you are looking for a trustworthy trainer who works to truly modify your dogs behavior on a deeper level by changing their emotions and associations through positive reinforcement, then Debbie is for you! Also, I see another reviewer putting down Debbie's basement suite training location. I can't help but think that is a silly criticism because the basement suite does so much to block out outside sounds and sights that could interfere with training for reactive dogs. It makes it so much easier to keep my dog focused on the task at hand!!

Do NOT waste your money! The trainer is a nice older man but he never works with your dog or ANY…read morelive dog. Instead, he pulls out a toy stuffed dog on a leash and drags it around on the floor to "demonstrate" how his training is supposed to work. He speaks in a very low voice and is hard to understand. He never handles any of his customers' dogs to demonstrate technique. Over many years, I have worked with some very good trainers and some who weren't so great; however, Harold Hansen--the owner and sole trainer of Heeling Free--is by far the worst.

To be honest I thought we might just use ORR for a short time while I was pregnant and after the delivery of our baby but after I met Josh and saw how much Obie loves him I knew they would have a customer for life. Before booking runs with ORR, Obie was moderately exercised but as a large breed, working dog he needed more. Behaviorally he pulled a bit on the leash, had some separation anxiety, was frightened of and leash reactive with other dogs. Now though, Obie pulls less on our walks, has learned several useful commands (we did the additional brain games package in addition to the running) and is less reactive while on walks. As a rescue dog he has had some mild separation anxiety and seems to be more social and confident since going out with Josh. After each run Obie is happy for the entire day. Overall he seems more calm and peaceful after a run with Josh. Also, he has lost 3 pounds! One of my favorite things is when Obie sees Josh's car pull up he starts slowly wagging his tail and does a few of what we call "baby deer jumps", it's really sweet. I like to watch them run off together, Obie will look back to me just to double check everything's ok and then confidently turn to run again. It is really nice to see him be excited and not so worried about leaving my side. I am so happy we found Oregon Ruff Runners! They are flexible, affordable, up-to-date on training techniques, truly care about each dog's well being and care for the betterment of Eugene's dog community as a whole. Their newsletters and tips are fantastic and entertaining! I would highly recommend Oregon Ruff Runners!

I recently started having Oregon Ruff Runners take my Sadie girl for a weekly run, sometimes 2X per…read moreweek and it's one of the best things I can do for her. She gets out and exercises which has increased her stamina, her strength, her overall health for sure and she gets to socialize with other dogs and hang out with Josh who is amazing! All I have to do is tell her Josh is coming today and she knows exactly what that means, she gets all excited and can't wait for her run. Josh is awesome with her, Sadie is a rescue and can be timid around new people but she knew right away she was safe with Josh and that was enough for me because if Sadie likes you, you're good people. Since I can't get Sadie out for the daily exercise she needs, this is perfect - it helps both of us as I don't have to feel guilty for working and she gets to make new friends.
