Love having a place for my dog to get some good exercise and warm water therapy! Clean pool and great employees !

Leaping from the ramp! Notice the stylish ear protection!

I love this place. These folks love dogs and facility is welcoming, clean, and very well maintained. They help my dogs stay happy and healthy. True animal lovers and experienced in rehab for ccl tears and hip dysplasia (my Atty had both). I just can't say enough about what a blessing these folks have been for us. We have now had 170 visits over 3 years and two different senior dogs.

Owner with Tobi in the pool

I took my Australian Shepherd Tobi here a couple years ago when she was 2. She liked playing in the water, but only shallow water, and I wanted her to be more comfortable swimming in lakes and rivers when we go hiking and adventuring. We were the only ones there for our appointment so she wasn't distracted by other dogs. The owner was very good with Tobi and gave her time to acclimate to going in the water by herself, not forcing her in. I really liked that. She wore a dog life jacket for the first time that day and it took some adjusting but she soon gained her confidence and was chasing balls around the pool and getting her face in the water. She had a great time and when the session was over and she came out, she was so excited and I think she was proud of herself, I sure was! She wasn't too afraid of the large blow dryer and he was gentle with her so she learned to enjoy it. I would highly recommend this business for your dog for so many reasons!

Bailey loves the K9 Swim Center!

Scott and the K9 Swim Center are a fantastic local resource! My dog Bailey, a 7-year-old black lab, tore CCL's in both legs. One leg has been operated on and another operation is scheduled. We want to keep her strength up between operations with swimming. Scott was extremely kind, helpful, and respectful of Bailey's limitations. Bailey can be obnoxious - she loves swimming so much she completely loses her mind. Scott rolled with it and made for the best, safest swim experience possible. I am extremely impressed by Scott and the K9 Swim Center. The facility is clean and well organized. There is a long ramp to the pool. Bailey is rinsed and dried after her swim session. Scott was careful to assess her swimming skill and to see how manageable she was, which I appreciated. I feel fortunate to have the K9 Swim Center in our community. And Bailey is ecstatic!

I called Pawsitive Wellness and Crystal answered and I asked if I brought her in if we could scan for a chip. She happily said yes. I drove over, everyone greeted me with happy smiles and helpfulness and found she wasn't chipped. Crystal offered to house her until her owner was found or the rescue found a foster. Later that day Pawsitive Wellness found her owner and she was safely returned. Crystal and Pawsitive Wellness didn't have to do anything and it was incredibly helpful and kind and they made me feel so happy to be at Pawsitive Wellness with our dogs. Big thanks to Crystal and Wendy for being so kind and helpful. Also PW made an office building of people feel proud for saving a dog from a busy street and reuniting with the owner. So a happy ending story.

Dog allergies are frustrating and difficult to manage, as are any chronic ongoing condition. As someone who has volunteered at the California Raptor Center in Davis, CA for 3 years (and counting) and is also a primary handler/trainer of two education ambassadors (a Swainson's Hawk and a Peregrine Falcon), as well as an aspiring falconer, I am pretty well-versed in raptors. Therefore, Cascades Raptor Center was a no-brainer stop on our trip. It was a pretty warm day, as OR had just experienced a heat wave. The raptor center overall was very well-kept, with over 30 education ambassadors on display. All the enclosures were very clean and organized. There were various trainers in several enclosures working with their respective birds when we went, and one volunteer even had a peregrine falcon out on glove for the public to enjoy up close and to ask questions about. We actually made it just in time for the last flight show of the season, and boy was it a blast!! Hans the Eurasian-Eagle-Owl was the star of the show, but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire program. As you can see in the photos below, I snapped some lovely shots of the birds with my DSLR. Here I am sharing some of my favorites. The admission fee was worth it, especially as the raptor center mainly functions from donations. We also shopped at the little gift shop after for some mementos to take home. I would love to revisit on our next trip to OR!

Dr Terri Sue tried very hard to help our Basset who has numerous skin lumps. We'd tried Western medicine for years, which helped very little and she had great ideas about supporting our dog's health with raw food and supplements. Some of the treatments were a bit unconventional but I was willing to go for it and we had a lot of hope. Unfortunately, after six months, the treatment didn't help and she got worse. We decided to see a specialist at OVRA, who incidentally said she'd never seen a dog as bad as ours -- she had 22 lumps all over her body -- twice as many as when we'd started treatment with Balance. Unfortunately, when Dr Terri Sue found out that we were seeing a specialist (we told her), she said they would "poison" our dog and fired us as patients despite my attempt to use both modes of treatment to optimize Stella's chances for good health. That left a negative impression with me. I'm a health care provider and welcome second opinions and often send my patients to specialists. That she doesn't do the same unfortunately makes me think less of her as a professional and a doctor. I wish we could still see her because she has a passion to give animals the best care, but I feel she's very single minded in her approach to care.
