In my first review of the grooming department we thought Zoë was a Pekingese, but after a health check/DNA test, we found out she's 100% Shih Tzu. Professional groomers should know how to groom by breed, Pekingese style is similar to a Shih Tzu! I've been hoping to adopt a cat and went to go look at them. The cat exhibit was pretty full when I got there and so I waited until it cleared out. After a few people exited I went in. There were still a few other customers in there and two employees. One employee was playing with the cats, the other was just sitting in the chair. When I entered the room, the employee in the chair told me to shut the door faster, as I was still walking in... She then told me there were too many people in there at once(even tho I waited several minutes for a few people to leave). If you're going to have such a stick up your ass and make these rules, maybe sit outside the cat room and explain that before people enter instead of sitting the back corner like a creep. Most employees seem nice aside from that, but weird old cat lady needs a day off or something. read more

I've been to this PetSmart location a few times recently, and it's about what you expect for a chain pet store. This location is clean and well organized. While you may be able to find slightly better prices online for things, sometimes the convenience of getting an item right away trumps the small price savings. PetSmart has a pretty decent rewards program you can sign up for (free). I was shopping for our dog recently, but noted they have quite a large fish/aquatics section at this store. One of the times I visited, they were also holding a dog training class in store which was cool to watch for a moment. read more

I got my long haired cat groomed and cut for the summer at their grooming salon, Daniel K did an incredible job, and my cat looks much better than I ever expected! Would recommend other long haired cat owners go here if they need their cat groomed! read more

This is a great place if you are looking to buy something new for your pet. They have all sorts of choices and variety of brands. The people are very helpful and friendly they know about the products and knowledgeable. Every once and a while they have a pet adoption event when we went they had dogs. It was really hard not to buy one. read more

If you're in there for supplies for your pets, they usually have okay deals, but if you want to adopt a cat/kitten take your business elsewhere. The cattery there is run by CRAN, a Lane County based Cat Rescue, and they suck so bad. The volunteers inside the cattery are always super nice, but whenever you try to adopt the cats they're apparently so desperate to find new furrever homes for, they reject every application! You could have ample space for more cats in your life, but they won't adopt to houses with more than two adult cats. Most people in there are already cat owners looking to expand their family with new kittens and help more cats, but the rescue itself isn't a good fit for people like that. If you're a new cat owner, wanting only one that's also most likely a no go! Almost every kitten there is bonded with a sibling or another cat and they're required to be adopted together. It's a lose-lose type situation that's been frustrating for me and my other friends as well. We've tried quite a few times to adopt and even though our adult cats are well behaved and gentle, and we put that info in, they refuse to adopt out to households like that. My friend who's never had a cat before can't handle two at once either, which is most of the kittens there. Usually the adults or seniors aren't pair bonded and not many people want them, and even so! They STILL WONT ADOPT THEM OUT TO YOU FOR THE SAME REASONS!! They're the most frustrating organization I've ever worked with. You're better off with Greenhill or Northwest animal shelter/rescue. read more

I asked for specific cut and she cut WAY too close in stripping his coat. He's got burn marks, and I'm just ashamed to go in there because of gaslight me and saying he wasn't behaved enough for the grooming. This was done in front of me and I think he behaved just as well as any other dog. I think it's the groomer. I was told my dog was too hyper in the bathing area wanting to meet other dogs and they told me to bring them in the morning. But the cut was on the groomer! I was present June 1 2024 at the Drumming Circle and was so afraid of him being sunburned because his skin was that close. She shave him too, but I think the photos says it all. read more

My puppy Willow and I just completed the Beginner Training class at the South Eugene PetSmart in Eugene Oregon. I identify as cat person and when I adopted this sweet puppy, I thought to myself - "oh no, I want her to be trained but I do not know how to do this!' So, we enrolled in the Beginner Training class. Kira Ingram was our trainer, and she did an excellent job. With her guidance and instruction, I was able to gain confidence in training my dog. Kira made the class fun for both the canines and their humans! She is extremely knowledgeable, and her instruction was fun and easy to understand. I had no problem being able to follow through at home. Plus, she made me, this cat person, feel absolutely comfortable in asking even the dumbest of questions. Kira Ingram gets high marks from me-10 out of 10 !! read more

The Banfield Pet Hospital here is great! Very accommodating staff and they clearly love animals. Beware, their treats program is a total scam if you're trying to buy online. I purchased a specific pet food for my animal with special dietary restrictions and I paid 2/3 of the price of it with my treats rewards. When I went to pick up, they had randomly decided to substitute what I had actually purchased with a different food, with "substitute " written across my receipt and without telling me they were actually out of stock. So instead of cancelling my order, they subbed it out for something unrelated and tried to get away with handing that to me through curbside pickup. And it was no accidental case of grabbing the wrong item, it was intentionally subbed in. Showing blatant disrespect to not only me and my time, but disregard for my pet who medically needed the specific food I placed an order for. I asked a cashier to please refund the item, expecting to get my treats payment returned as well as the money my card was charged for the remaining couple bucks, but they told me the treats money would be lost and I'd only be refunded the 1/3 of what I paid for it. Obviously, that's a total scam seeing as how it was Petsmart that created the problem to start with and wanted to force me to pay the price for their online issues. My only other option was to simply have to keep the food that I DID NOT order just to avoid losing out on the reward money I rightfully earned. It was a whole fiasco, but the staff handled it kindly, it's just so obvious the chokehold corporate must have on them for not having a legitimate solution to a problem like that. It's very embarrassing and was an easy way to make sure I don't go back. My advice to other customers is to use treats rewards in store only to avoid problems like I experienced. And always use the app while in store to price check, because there are almost always secret discounts on there that they won't honor unless you bring it up yourself. It's a very predatory business, shop smartly folks. read more

We called PetSmart this morning to see if they still accepted walk-ins between 2: and 4:pm to get our cat's claws trimmed, they said they did. We got there at 2:pm, the receptionist said she couldn't help us, that we would have to make an appointment for the next day. We explained that we had been told to come in and she told us we were wrong. While being there I noticed that the groomer's were gossiping more than paying attention to the animals. One groomer was brushing on a Pomeranian so hard that it was screaming in pain while talking to the groomer next to her. The noise from the groomer's was so loud it sounded like a football stadium. Had I been their supervisor I would have fired the whole bunch of them, I'm glad they turned us away. read more

The Chad Drive store is still wasting customer's time, four years after I wrote the last review. I tried for over an hour to call the general number, but each time I only reached a "call back later" recorded message. PetSmart really needs to decide whether it wants to continue to be in business. If so, they need to start answering their phone at 11am. I have multiple disabilities and it is difficult to go to the store to check product availability. I have checked on line in the past, gone to the store, and found the product was NOT available, despite it being listed as available on the store's website. Today I found "available product", tried to put it in the cart and the cart emblem showed the correct number of products. When I went to the cart, it said the cart was EMPTY. It still didn't tell me whether the product was actually in stock in the store or whether their on line ordering system is malfunctioning. Now I have to laboriously go to the store to find out. It won't be a pretty meeting when I get there. They show little regard for customers and NO REGARD for disabled customers. read more

I buy cases of cat food. At this location, they open the cases, which may be nice for people buying in the store, but not for people buying cases to put in their car. I have cans of food rolling everywhere in my car because the cases are open. I have mentioned this when I pick up but they seem unfazed by the logic of giving unopened cases to people who are transporting them. read more

Took my little puppy here for his first big haircut, after a different Petsmart said he did good during his first puppy trim and bath. The lady tells me it'll be 3-4 hours which is typical. She calls me after two hours saying he was too hyper and distracted by other dogs and she can't finish his groom, noting the grooming area is unbelievably cramped. Anyways I was a little disappointed it took her 2 hours to figure that out when thats almost the time it would've been for the entire groom. Anyways I get there she tells me they only gave him a bath and were only able to use the scissors on his face and paws, couldn't even use the clippers. The entire haircut was $93 which is ridiculous for a 16lb dog but she ended up charging me $70 which is ABSURD!!! They did less than half the work but i got charged over 50% of the total; his nails weren't clipped, his paws were uneven, not to mention he didn't even get a a haircut they only used scissors!! If you don't know how to work with dogs of all ages, temperaments, sizes, etc whatever... you shouldn't be in the animal business... but to charge me damn near the full cost of the haircut when no hair was actually cut????? Truly ridiculous. I am beyond upset and will never come back to this Petsmart and I advise others to avoid this one at all costs. To make matters worse they are more expensive than the other Petsmart in Eugene??! Make it make sense please. read more

I urge you Not take your dog here! My experience here was nothing short of horrifying. I took my dog in, 20 lbs., older, blind and deaf, and very matted ( I just couldn't afford to get him groomed). I talked with them, explained the situation and just the way she took him from me- should have been a clue. But, I mean, if you work in grooming, you love dogs, don't you.? Anyway, my sweet boy came home with bad abrasions on both side of his neck- she did say it was hard with the matting- I accepted that. When I got him home, there was much more blood and a raised skin that I didn't see at pick up. It's been 5 days now, he still has a hurt neck from grooming. He flinched every time he tries to lay his head down . Don't know what went on while he was there- but it wasn't good. Looking back, it looks like we took our prior dog there, with not so great reviews. How could I forget!! My poor baby!! read more

I hadn't been to this store in at least a couple years until the other night. I had no real reason to visit here. My cats are pretty self sufficient. Lol. My husband and I came in looking for cat items. I needed a feeding mat because I'm replacing the floors in my house, and I'm not about to put their bowls on my shiny new floor. So I figured why not give them new bowls too. Found a pretty decent selection. I wanted a filtered water bowl, which I found some nice choices. I also found an automatic timed food dispenser. I was impressed by the selection and options. I checked the price of cat litter to compare with Costco, which is where I normally buy it. They're pretty comparable, unlike Wal-Mart, oddly enough. So it's one more place to buy it when I need to. I found a beautiful new bed for my cats from Martha Stewart. Cats like it so much that I now have to get a second one. Customer service wasn't exciting. We were there later in the evening, near closing time, so there were only a couple employees. Store has always seemed a little under-staffed though. No one ever asked me if I needed anything. I passed an employee while walking through the store with my husband, said as I was walking by, "I think it's down this isle, we'll find out." I was thinking she would take the opportunity to ask what we were looking for, but no. No real customer service. Will I return? Yes, because I need a second bed for my little ones, plus the food and water bowls. After that? Doubtful. It's not a store I need to go to very often. Plus, there's nothing really exciting to bring me back. read more

I highly recommend not shopping from petsmart on Chad Dr, Eugene OR. Very disrespectful, and almost refusing to sell us bala sharks for my 75 gallon tank. They waivered their 14 day policy to bring back fish if something happened, because their aquatic keeper "didn't feel comfortable" selling them for our 75 gallon. I've kept bala sharks my whole life, in 20 gallon tanks, 50 gallon tanks, and this 75 gallon tank. in 7 years my balas have only ever reached 7 inches. They grow to their tank size, and its clear that Petsmart does not have the knowledge to judge, accuse, or waiver rights to what their company policy is. their aquatic keeper outright refused to net the fish for us, calling their manager, Jessica, to the front to do it for her. this was very unprofessional of the aquatic keeper and the manager. the aquatic keeper took off her nametag when this took place, so I dont have a name for her. She was extremely unpleasant from the start of the experience when we simply asked for 2 mystery snails, and the bala sharks were just her excuse to blow off the handle. Ive always gotten fish from this petsmart, so its very disappointing to see how woke the people working here have gotten. I wont be coming back. this is without mentioning the horrific conditions all of their bettafish were in. read more

I see substandard care when it comes to birds, particularly parakeets. I love close, so have come in the store many times. Last time (and not the first) I saw three parakeets through the glass with NO food or water. I called for the person in charge of birds--and asked why these birds were in an empty cage w/ no basics. She answered in a very cold tone: "Because we are cleaning their cages!" (funny--but I did not see anyone there). This is one of many situations that have gotten my attention and not in a good way! (I have 3 birds and it does not take me long to do their cleaning routine). As for bird products, I do not see what we need, (quite often) therefore, I order online to endure our birds are adequately cared for. read more

I'm never one to write a review, but if you are a new dog owner like I am and wanted to give your dog haircut and thought, "oh! Pet smart is pretty cheap! My dog will do fine there!" Don't do it. I figured I would've learned my lesson the first time around when my dog came back with a bald patch on his nose and looked traumatized.. but no. Instead, being the horrible owner that I am, I sent my dog back there, only for him to come back with several cuts on his body and major anxiety. So spend that extra few bucks and find a place that can give you better service. read more

Of course this weekend only, you're offering the 10,000 extra points when you spend $60 or more, once again, you're out of the food. Very very unhappy with the customer service or lack of, at this store. We've taken our dogs here many times for "spa day" aka grooming...they do a pretty good job. The disappointment comes because THEY called ME this week to book my twin dogs for a spa day as they were having a promotion!! I told her I needed the dogs booked together because we live 80 miles away and cannot easily go back and forth, so she offered me appointments for this afternoon...I told her that they HAD to be done by 5pm as we had obligations at 6 and needed time to drive back... she said "no problem"...now we have arrived for our appointment and I'm told it will be 3-4 hours. why did you tell me they could be done by 5,when you KNEW they couldn't be? After driving 25 miles, I was told that I needed proof of a rabies shot-- which I didn't have with me. Why wasn't I told about this when I made the appointment? I want to say for the record, when I want aquariums, or supplies for my tanks, this store has been my go to for years. The 75 I mention in this review was purchased at this store. So was the food I have and most of my supplies. Never again will Pet Smart get a dollar of my money. NEVER, and I advise you go somewhere else too. You have plenty of other options. I should have known better than to buy another fish here, but I thought "what the heck, it has been a while. In the last six years I have bought fish from this store three times. Each time. LITERALLY EVERY TIME! They have sent me home with Ich infested fish. Last time it happened (about four years ago), I swore I would never buy another fish there, but I was in getting supplies and I thought I would give them another shot. (I should not have, as last time I sent an E-mail after the infection and never even got the courtesy of a reply.) This time the three little Balas I purchased were put in a new hospital tank... fortunately I quarantine new arrivals before I put them in my 75 or 45. Within a week the spots showed. They were dead a couple of days later, indicating they had been infected for a while. Pet Smart uses a centralized pumping system for all of its tanks, probably because it is cheaper and easier for the people they hire to maintain. The issue is, if one tank gets a disease, they all do. And that means you do too, but no worries, they will sell you the cure for the disease they gave you as well. Frankly, the way they treat their fish should be illegal. Seriously, go to one of the small fish stores in town where they quarantine new arrivals. read more

When I come here I always have to look at their website which has better prices, then I have to always match the prices at the check stand. Why just not list the lowest price. So when shopping here make sure to always check out their website, because most likely the prices will be better. read more
