These people are absolute nut jobs. Would not sell me a GOLD FISH for my 5 gallon tank. Said it was unethical to small. But the 4 dead gold fish floating around there tank was OK. Keeping fish in a little cup that's OK. Do you hear me they would NOT sell me a 32cent fish because my 5 gallon was ethically to small. I will never step foot in that store again. All the fish had signs of ich on them too. What do they think people buy the fish for They are food for snakes and lizards. These people are insane with there ethical bull____. This store has a problem with customer service. I highly recommend going anywhere else. PetCo near Valley River has exceptional customer service. This Chad PetSmart had 3 people just standing around talking to each other last night , they were not waiting in any customers. Not one of them came out on the floor to offer any assistance. Things progressively got worse. The lady said she'd sell me some cat food, then she changed her mind. She did not offer any friendly solutions, or anything that was not frustrating. We took our German Sheppard here to be groomed because our normal grooming lady was booked up. Will never do that again. Nails cut too short and still dirty from the dog park. Stated he was brushed out yet he still had clumps of hair hanging onto him and was still wet when we got him home. They also stated they cleaned his ears.... They were still dirty. Would never recommend this grooming establishment.... read more

You've been out of the Simply Nourish caned kitten food for over a month now. This is the only brand of food that my kitten will eat. If I change brands he'll just throw it up. He's just been stuck on dry food now, and it hasn't been satisfying him. This is so frustrating! Food should be top priority, especially over Halloween decor. read more

Unbelievable!!! We have taken our dog to this groomer for a nail grind EVERY MONTH since we adopted her and my wife calls to set up her appt and they state, "we are booked over 2 weeks out". She explained that we always show up at opening time and it only takes 5 minutes, the gentleman said "SO; WE ARE STILL BOOKED OUT OVER 2 WEEKS WITH NO MORNING TIMES". I just called them this morning and spoke to a Jody and she was a bit rude and really didnt care much of the issue. I explained everything to her and asked if we could just show up at 7:30 am and get it done since it takes 5 minutes? She said "NO". I told her we cant wait 18-21 days and we would have to find a different groomer, she than states, "WELL THAN, FIND A DIFFERENT GROOMER"!! I than asked her name and hung up on her. I had an issue with an old white haired employee once where he literally yelled at me for walking around while at the groomer. I dont know where these people get their customer service skills, but it cant be from training because they obviously have ZERO in customer service. We will NEVER go back to this groomer EVER. Pet smart might want to evaluate who they give franchisees to, and if it's not a franchise, than I have no comment. Good luck in treating people the way you are. read more

Don't bring your pets here to be groomed. Prices are outrageous and they don't match when you book online and then at the checkout at the store. To top it off when we got our dog home we noticed that she was bleeding from her nail and they never mentioned that they had cut it too short!! I called and the lady basically told me how to stop the bleeding, no refund suggested or a discount for next time( which there won't be a next time here). I just can't believe how they didn't mention this when we picked our dog up and paid for the grooming. Save your money go to a locally owned groomer! read more

My dogs look fancy after their cuts at Petsmart! Sometimes they even get bows or bandanas, which they of course immediately remove, but are cute nonetheless. I have been to this PetSmart many, many times and have had very few negative experiences. Mostly the employees are kind and thoughtful, and of course love dogs. I would recommend PetSmart to anyone for dog haircuts and pet supplies. read more

This PetSmart has been good to me the times I have utilized them over the last couple of months. There is always a lot of staff walking around to see if you need help with anything and everyone has been friendly. I like that they hold adoption events for local rescues as that is where I found my pup. The rescue gives you a coupon book for PetSmart too. The prices are pretty fair to me for being a more "spendy" chain company. The grooming however is pretty expensive. They did allow me to use a coupon for a cat even though I brought my dog because I had lost my dog coupon for 50% off. It was still over $30 which seems kinda high. Would be cool if they offered discount cards for return customers in the grooming salon. I brought Charlotte to her first grooming appointment today and they put a bow in her hair, made her feel comfortable when she was afraid, and even gave me a "progress report" which I thought was pretty cute. There is no waiting area for humans which is kind of odd to me when it's a fairly big open space where they could fit a chair or two if you're just doing a quick nail trim. read more

This review is for their grooming services only. My family and I had used Banfield (the animal hospital inside PetSmart) and it is fantastic, so we decided to try the grooming. Never again. I asked for my poodle to be cut short on his body and leave a poof at his head and his tail. They completely cut off the poof on his head and left the rest of his face so long that he looks really strange. His body is super short and his head is a giant puff. That alone wouldn't justify a one star review, but his coat isn't evenly cut. We will have to redo part of his face and his neck at home. When I picked up my dog they proceeded to tell me about how bad he had been and what a handful he was...all while assuring me they would groom him again. Um, I've had other groomers and, yes, he is a handful - but I have another place to take my dog. The only reason I tried PetSmart is that their hours are more convenient. I will definitely be taking my dog to my regular groomer in Springfield from now on. So thank you, PetSmart, for telling me what a terror my dog is and making me feel like he was too difficult for you to handle, all while telling me you would take him again. I'll go elsewhere. Finally, they told me that his teeth needed looking at (preferably by a vet) while I was in the grooming center. He has his teeth cleaned TWO WEEKS AGO by the vet inside PetSmart - full dental, put under anesthesia and everything. His teeth are perfectly white and 100% clean...a fact confirmed by the vet 10 minutes after his grooming when I went in for his follow up appointment. What a terrible experience. read more

Went to the grooming department and I have had them tell me that they couldn't brush my dogs teeth because it wasn't a walk in service then next month i called to make an appointment here and they said I didn't need one. So either the girl didn't want to do it or they need to get their information straight. There is one brunette girl who work there who is really rude. Banfield in this Petsmart is awesome! Dr. Stewart diagnosed my dog after I had spent thousands on emergency vet visits over the years. Recently she had an episode and they told me to bring her in as soon as possible even on a really busy Saturday. I was helped right away and Dr. Stewart cam out to talk with me personally about my dog to make sure we were on the same page on what to do if she had another episode. read more

Is super scared of having them trimmed and they handle all 70 lbs of him pretty well. Except one girl who has ridiculous make up and wears rubber shit stompers. She is awful. Being that I live in a small town, there are few choices. But I have to admit, I do love this petsmart. I have taken the dog that we adopted in for training, Victoria was amazing, she was a wonderful trainer, went above and beyond to help solve problems and steer you in the right direction to help, even if it was out of Petsmart. Linn is one of the best trainers that I have run into. She has worked with so many dogs over the years and has her own brood at home, so she really knows what she's talking about and has plenty of personal experience. I have always found what I needed at this petsmart and then some. I have always been able to match up the sales with some of my coupons from the manufacturers for fabulous deals. They carry the food that I use for both my cats and my dogs. And I have had to return many, many things before. The harness, shirts, life jackets was the wrong fit. The dog refused to wear the socks to protect his duclaw after a surgery. The automatic cleaning litter box didn't work and was a waste of money, smelled to high hell and made a mess, the food made the animals sick, the water fountain broke, and so on and so forth. But I have never once had a problem. They always return everything for me for cash if I have my receipt or for a giftcard to the store, and I'm okay with that, I shop there all the time anyways. If your new in town and want something that is easily accessible and has most everything you could need, I would certainly recommend this Petsmart. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help you. The products are good and there is a large selection. And the hours work with my lifestyle and it's easily accessible. read more

I just got a new Puppy and went to petsmart on Coburg road To decide what kind of puppy food to feed him I was trying to get an employee's attention but they were too busy talking to other employees and when I did ask they were not helpful whatsoever so I searched for somebody else to get their attention And could not find one other employee to ask that was not busy at The one registered they had running with A-line of at least 10 people. Go to Petco much better customer service. I also took my two-year-old pit there once to get groomed and they did a horrible job she came out still smelling They clipped her toenail too short and was bleeding. And she was shaking when I got her back I will never go there again! read more

This store is ok if you want to go in and browse with your pet, but as far as pricing goes, they are rather spendy. I still find a better bargain at the mini pet marts. The cheapest dog bed that they had here was a rather cheaply made one for $40! Puh-leeze, you can go across the street to costco and get one for $17.99 or to bi mart for around $20. On average, the dog food was several dollars more a bag than other places. Great if you need something in a pinch, and you are at costco. Otherwise, drive on.... The location in Cicero, NY is very clean and animals roam with their owners throughout the store. Great selection of items for all animals. We have a cat, and there are few stores with the selection of foods, toys, etc., for cats, like this one. Staff is friendly, informative, and helpful. When checking out I chose to add on a treat for my selection of one of the 7 non-profit "tubs" to drop it in. Love this place! read more

We have a bearded dragon and we come here for the crickets. Depending on the amount of people that are in here, you can wait either 15 minutes to get help, or you can walk right up and get service. The checkout lines are the same way. They always seem a bit under staffed, yet if you hit them at a slow time, it's usually a in-and-out stop. I prefer this location to others around, they keep the crickets in a large box with cardboard. At other locations, I have seen them pre-bagged and sitting there with a chunk of food in the bag. Making for a nasty mess and a few suffocated crickets. read more

Love this Petsmart! It's my go to place for food, toys, etc. for my fur babies. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I love that you can return an item if it ends up not being what you expected or simply if your pet doesn't like it! Banfield pet hospital however isn't my favorite place to go. Not much urgency to get you in if you don't have an appointment....which I totally understand, but when your cat has blood in her pee and is vomiting, you'd think they might squeeze you in. ;) read more

I liked petsmart groomers when my dog was a puppy. Then they razor burned her stomach pretty bad an sense a she got hurt I got my money back, I gave them a second chance they started charging $5 a bite and it got ridiculous so I switch rumors and I'm switching vets. This is hands down my favorite store! I'm obsessed with the fact that I can bring my pets into the store. PetSmart made a great decision to let customers bring their pets in, because this contributes to them providing great customer service tailored to your specific pet and his/her needs. I am always suprised with the wide selection of merchandise and catch myself looking around for hours. And when I am finally ready to checkout it's always a fast experience and as soon as a line has three people in it they instantly open a new register. So if you're looking for speedy checkout, great service, wide selection of merchandise, easy to get to location, welcoming atmosphere, and a positive experience you must visit the PetSmart on Chad Dr. Keep in mind it is a little expensive, but they provide quality merchandise to go home with. read more

Every time I've gone here it's always been fantastic. The prices are pretty good with the membership. We went to adopt two cats today and had to wait a good while for the volunteers from the rescue (no affiliation with petsmart), and the the staff great care of us. Rachel, Danielle, and Jessie were fantastic, and made sure we were well taken care of, even with a dog adoption event going on. That's true customer service. Especially important to me was they were making sure the cats were well kept and taken care of. Would definitely recommend going here. It's always clean too. read more

Do not go to this store if you are in a risk category for Covid-19. One of their male employees was wearing his mask under his chin, not maintaining social distancing with another employee. When I told him his mask was worthless since they are not worn on the chin he decided to get in my face & cough. No manager available. Our dog, Nikki, has been a customer of the PetSmart Grooming Salon for almost 11 years and only once did we take Nikki to another Groomer which didn't work out for us. In fact it was the worst job we had ever seen and paid for. The team on Chad drive has always done such good grooming work for us. taking great care to be careful with several surgeries on her hind legs . .far above what we have had in the past with other dogs we've owned. Considering we live out in the country and there are groomers closer to us in Springfield this speaks volumes for the way they have cared for us and our Nikki Dog! . .plus other problems they know about and handle with loving care. We are happy knowing Betty is taking care of Nikki, and she has given us helpful advice over the year to improve things we do for Nikki at home. Betty is part of a great team and I would encourage anyone who wants the best dog grooming in the area to try then. I scheduled and unfortunately had to cancel an appointment with these guys due to time constraints, but the staff was extremely friendly and encouraged me to call and reschedule whenever I had time. When I did reschedule the next day, my 20 month old dog Rubik went in feeling a little anxious and came out more excited and full of joy than I'd ever seen him at any other grooming salon. He had the pleasure of working with Tanner, who was very warm and inviting from the moment our conversation began until he and I left the store. My dog warmed up to her very quickly and she gave report that he did well and wasn't too anxious during his visit. I'd never received a positive response from his groomers in the past, so there must have been something about her personality that Rubik found comfort in and I couldn't be more thrilled to have found somewhere we can come regularly. On top of everything, Rubik left with a free watermelon bandana for the summer, and mama left with a coupon book for treats and a 10% discount for his first visit. We will DEFINITELY be back! And we absolutely would recommend requesting Tanner if you can, she's awesome! read more

Not sure how to rate petsmart, but I wanted to warn those who use their grooming services. We go in here every once in a while to buy particular products that we have trouble finding elsewhere, and people are friendly. I also like that they have shelter animals rather than puppy/kitten mill pets, but we prefer to go to Petco after what happened to a friend at one of the other Petsmart stores. She brought in a healthy, young cat who had been groomed several times before. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him. Not half an hour later she found herself sitting alone in the store, with nobody to console her and a dead cat, her baby, in her hands. To this day, Petsmart has provided no explanation or proper apology. There was nothing wrong with the cat on the outside, but perhaps they illegally gave him a tranquilizer to make him easier to groom? Or maybe he just suffered a heart attack? Who knows... all we know is that they pressured her into giving up the cat to their in-house vet for cremation. She was so distraught and not in any condition to be making decisions that she eventually agreed. This meant she was unable to get an autopsy or other proof that they did something wrong. She only realized the consequences of giving up his body to their vet for cremation after it was too late. They handled the situation poorly, and whether they were at fault or not (which we can no longer find out now), they should have offered here more support and not pressured her to give up the cat. Very unethical. read more

Awful awful awful!!!! I wish I could give them zero stars. So I have read the other reviews and figured as long as I stay away from the grooming and vet I'm fine...which has been the case till today. I went in with my puppy, who is about 7 moths old jack russell he is 10 pounds (not big) he disturbed a pile of treat bags someone was trying to put on the shelf. The employ turned around and yelled at me! He was on his leash I was just looking at another shelf so he was about four feet from me! I was shocked. Won't go back. read more

I just wanted to say I really appreciate how every time a staff member sees you they make sure you are finding everything alright. They are usually so knowledgeable about all of the products and can answer all of my questions. As a pet owner there are always so many questions about brands and everything. I've been using this PetSmart for years. Lately the service has gone downhill. Called to see if my dogs could get an appointment and was told by the person answering that they were going to say no and not even look because they been busy and booked out for weeks. Really... not even going to look to give me your next available date? Just tell me to go elsewhere? This store has been grooming my dogs for 5 years since they were babies and that all I get? Also got sold a broken product during the no return period due to covid-19. I brought it right back in within an hour after realizing it was broken and was told too bad. No date for potential return or anything. Just too bad that's the policy, sorry you wasted $50 on a broken item. You can buy another one. Like I would want to risk buying another one and be out another $50. I really hope they figure it out. My dogs love the groomers:( read more

I was looking for a grooming service for my Shih Tzu and viewed several groomers at this Petsmart location. It was so disappointing to see 1 groomer being unkind to a dog she was clipping -- pulling his whiskers and muzzle until the dog was cowering and squealing. The other 2 groomers were very uncaring of their touch and manner with their dogs so much so that one dog continued to shake through the whole experience. I did not witness any groomer interacting with the dogs to sooth and reassure them. Glad I looked in on them and realized this was an unhappy place to bring my dog. Likewise, the Banfield Vet service in that same Petsmart was very sober and uncaring with the animal brought in. No smiles. No welcoming the dog. This place doesn't care for animals. read more

I don't usually write reviews, I didn't have a bad experience here or anything, but I got into a little back and fourth with a worker about goldfish. I worked at a specialty aquarium store for over 2 years. Aquarium keeping has been my hobby for like 5 years and I'm a nerd about it. She didn't want to sell me a fancy goldfish because when she asked if I had a heater in the tank I told her I didn't have one. She tried to tell me repeatedly that fancy goldfish need a heater because they need 78 degree water. I told her that wasn't correct, that gold fish are not tropical fish, and in fact they become ill in water over 75 degrees. The fish I picked was the only one that looked healthy in the tank, and the water being 78 degrees explains that. They're cold water fish. She kept insisting she was right and finally I just said ok, thank you for your recommendation but I would like to purchase this fish anyways. She then said she was going to void the warranty on the fish and wrote "no refunds" in large letters on the side of the bag. It's just weird cause she kept saying that their goldfish were in 78 degree water ... I don't understand how such a large pet chain wouldn't know that goldfish are cold water fish ‍ Maybe an employee will see this and do some research for the goldfish's sake lol. read more

I bought a bearded dragon and a 170 dollar kit that came with everything you needed and the tank. The first night I notices that the lights weren't putting off enough heat so I went in there and they let me exchange them for free and let me keep the old ones too! Very knowledgable and helpful. Will go there for future purchases and would recommend to anybody! read more

Extremely disappointed. I brought in my pitbull to have her bathed, ears cleaned, and nails trimmed. Simple as that, right? When I got there, I had been told that the services would take 2 hours at most. After 2 hours, a different worker told me services normally take 3 hours. When I asked where she was, a worker told me that she was "drying off in her kennel" because they "rotate" the dogs. As in, you guys keep them in a kennel for most of the time? The groomer claimed to have brushed her for 15 minutes. They also told me, twice, that they would call when she was ready to be picked up. Never got a phone call so I showed up 3 hours after I had dropped her off and found that she was ready. Her toenails had been clipped poorly, splintering off the sides. I found little pieces of cotton in both of her ears. Her coat does not even look clean. It makes me wonder if they even gave her a bath. read more

The grooming palace is awful! The groomer took hours to even start on our little dog and didn't even start until we showed up to pick him up, then we said to just do his sanitary patch and instead started shaving him and then quit half way through and said she couldn't finish and that it would be best if we took him somewhere else that they didn't want him back! So pissed off! Coleen was the groomer and she said she was leaving petsmart and she would be glad to groom him at her new place...... I think NOT!!!!! read more

Flea treatment, Advantix II small dogs service didn't work. They applied it. I came home to California and called my store in Yuba City but they can't do anything because it was applied in another store. These stores don't stick together. Use Petsmart as a one store only when serviced. They don't stand by the Petsmart way. read more

We have taken our dog to two set of lessons. Money well spent. Might as well figure out how to make your pet a better pet. Mostly about training the owner. I woud certainly recommend Petsmart to anyone who has a new pet. Our dog always made us look like champs. She is smart dog. We don't do too much training anymore but she still has the basic commnands down when we need them.Trainer was always positive and gave us good instruction. read more
