I was so disappointed. I have lived outside of NYC, SF, and except for one experience going into the Benefit store in Mill Valley when I had a mild case of poison oak on my face, never before have I felt so judged the minute I walked into a store. I really try to be friendly wherever I go, have had Nurse Practitioners tell me how happy they are whenever they see me on their schedule for the day, but this was like walking into a brick wall. The gentleman behind the counter was capable of smiling, he did so with someone who was obviously a regular who came in after me, but it felt like I was beneath him to interact with. You know, when you work for an establishment, you are an ambassador for that establishment. If you want the business to grow, being nice just may create more regulars. read more

Will definitely stop in every time we're in Eugene. Daisy had the best time sniffing around, being greeted as soon as she walked in, and picking treats to take home. Our plan was to purchase some treats but we left with much more and didn't feel we over spent. The staff immediately welcomed us and introduced themselves to Daisy -- offering her a treat. The store was clean and felt open, plenty of space to move around and let Daisy explore. We certainly appreciated the visit and will return. read more

How I enjoyed shopping in this store. With an amazing assortment of dog treats, adorable collars and various types of dog food, I couldn't resist purchasing several items for my girlie. I was so impressed by the kindness of the employees. Since I wasn't sure what size collar our girl would wear, I was told it could be returned if it were the wrong size. Fortunately, I was able to walk out to the car, try the collar on her for proper fit. How many large retail establishments would have that trust, actually allowing me to take the merchandise out of the store before I paid for it? Superb customer service! I also found a chew bone made of Orbee Tuff material that had a nylon tag from the manufacturer that I was concerned would not be able to be removed without damaging the toy and again, the employees took the time and figured out how to get that string off. Wags! has upgraded to a new location recently and the new digs are HUGE compared to the old shop. It's now right on the side of DSW at Oakway, so go as if you are trying to get to Rife's and you'll past right by it, and there are a few parking spaces on that side of the building. I think this is a little harder to get to than where they were before, it's kind of a nightmare near that intersection sometimes, but oh well. Inside you'll find a great selection of all the treats, toys, leashes and accessories your little dog/cat would love to have, along with some more special food items. Every time I've come it's been a friendly experience, and even though prices here can be a bit higher than the major pet retail stores or Amazon, I much prefer to support a small business like this when I can. You can also bring in leashed and behaved pets to shop with you. Also, if you sign up your dog for the birthday list you get a postcard each year for a free cookie from their bakery case too! read more

I've been wanting to get a new cat tree/perch for my munchkins for a while. Since I'm doing an entire home remodel, the fur babies get all new stuff too. I wasn't terribly thrilled with what I found at PetSmart, so searching I went. This place has amazing reviews from a couple of my friends here on Yelp, so I figured I would go check it out. Always worth a try, right? My husband and I went in, it's actually a pretty decent sized store. It's in the same complex as Verizon and Baja Fresh on Coburg Rd. I hate the parking lot here because it's tiny and always busy. That's my biggest complaint, the location. We were greeted and asked if we were looking for anything specific. Yep. They had several cat trees in a room for adopting cats, but they don't actually sell them. That sucks. So my question was, where did they buy the ones they use? From a distributor, and the woman helping us offered to look online and order one for us, if she could. Awesome. Except, I couldn't find any I liked. Another employee chimed in on the conversation to offer some ideas. She suggested Mini Pet Mart. I've heard of it and vaguely know where the one in Springfield is, but I've never gone there. She gave us pretty much all of their locations, citing the one on River Road near Fred Meyer had a big selection. I like big, because that means options. Even though this business couldn't help me with exactly what I needed, they went above and beyond to try and solve the problem. Which they did. I found what I needed at the Mini Pet Mart on River Road. The fact that they tried to turn around the negative of not having what I needed into a positive by pointing me in the right direction is what makes them memorable and a reason I would absolutely go back to that store. I love this place. I have been stopping in here for years to get my dog her unique things. One year I bought her a tent. She loved it until someone stepped on it and broke it. Insert sad face. I have also bought her a jewel crown for her pretty necklace that she loved. Her name was Princess. So it was fitting. The clothes they sell are really cute. I also like the food brands, and snack choices for your doggie. They are very healthy. My Princess has passed away, and I have a new puppy now so I started her on a new food and could not find it any where. I went online and found that there was only a handful of stores that sell it, wags being one of them. The price was pretty good. It is called Orijen. She really likes it, and you can tell a difference in her fur. She is so much softer. I think a high grade food really makes a difference. The people my Son got the puppy from had her on pedigree. I had to get her off of that cheap garbage. I spied a few stuffed toys the other day that I think my Bailey might want, I want to bring her with me so she can help pick out what she likes. WAGGLES IS THE BEST.!11!!1!!!! It was my birfday this week and I told my mom and dad we had to get me new toysies (because my two Kongs and three food dispensing toys and squeaky football and chew ring and vanilla-scented pickle and frisbee and assortment of Nylabones and marrow bones just don't keep a doggy like me busy). Plus, I needed some new swag cuz even though I lOve my red fleece, it's so last season, and doggies can't be caught dead in fleece after Memorial Day. So after breakfast we all piled into the car to head to WAGGLES (!!), with mom and dad in the front seat and me in the center console. I don't understand why they won't let me sit on their laps in the front. THE BACKSEAT IS SO FAR AWAY and I only weigh 75 lbs. :( So we got to the store and I got soOoOo excited that I don't quite remember what happened next; it was all just a blur. My mom and dad tell me I went BONKERS but I don't believe them cuz I'm a good puppy and I would *never* cause havoc. All I remember is that EVERYTHING SMELLED AWESOME and a nice human (whom I will love fOrever) found out it was my birfday and gave me a free pupcake and salmon chewy. I drank tOns of water from the water-giving machine by the door, and tried on these googly goggles, which aren't really my thing (but my parents say are rEally well-made cuz I couldn't get them off my head even when I tried with both pawsies). I came home with two new treat dispensing toys and a huUuge pig knuckle (mom and dad want me to mention something about how they got $5 off their purchase since they are Waggles award members... I don't know what that means though) and I was soOo happy with my new toysies that I've been showing them off to all of mom and dad's friends when they come over to play. Came in to get a toy or treats for some dogs' Christmas presents. A staff member gave me some suggestions on chew toy selection. I ended up going with imported, grain-free treats and some hand decorated dog cookies. I failed to take pics before mailing them to my sister for her dog, but they were super cute and looked just as good or better than some bakery-decorated cookies for humans. They have a lot of cute toys and treats, even some home made cookies and cupcakes (for the pets of course) and they are adorable and my dog ate the whole thing right up. Wags! Dog Emporium is a MUST for a dog parent/owner. The staff is amazingly knowledgeable and they have MANY toys and accessories which are Made in the USA. Some are even made in Eugene. They have fleece, shirts, collars, harnesses, and leashes for the tiniest teacups to huge dogs. Treats from local producers as well as food and training supplies. Went there today to get my Boston fitted for a harness . Jesse the sales associate was very knowledgable and super friendly. The store is very pleasant and inviting. You may end buying more than what you though you originally came in for. It was tempting to buy my little guy a jacket, a rain jacket, footies, another new collar, but held back. All in moderation.
