The gentleman behind the counter was capable of smiling, he did so with someone who was obviously a regular who came in after me, but it felt like I was beneath him to interact with. You know, when you work for an establishment, you are an ambassador for that establishment. If you want the business to grow, being nice just may create more regulars.
