I'd read about Persephone before our trip and marked it as a "must try" while in Jackson Hole. We walked over early (8am) on a Thursday morning to grab a cup of coffee and peruse the pastries. We were very surprised to find the line already went out the door! The line moved fast and boy you better be ready to order when you step up, because it is a fast moving, no messing around system. In addition there were at least three employees taking orders at the counter so the pastry case is extremely crowded and it's difficult to view what the options are. The employees weren't un-kind, but they there were no niceties like "good morning". They wanted to move you through the line quickly, so we didn't feel we could really peruse the pastries and so we skipped it and we just ordered a hot coffee and a large hot almond milk latte. People were already more than crowded inside waiting for their items so we stepped onto the patio. It was a chilly morning so the small fire pit was welcomed. For the giant crowd waiting we received our drinks within a reasonable time frame. They call names from inside behind the counter, so if you are not within 4 feet of the counter you will not hear them. We sat on the patio near the garden and the view was beautiful. My "large" latte was the same small size of my husband's drip coffee and both appeared to be around 12-14oz. Disappointing. The drip coffee was okay, but not worth returning for and my almond milk latte was also just okay. We maybe would have given Persephone another try, but in the end we chose to try the many other coffee/bakery shops in downtown. I'm not saying 'stay away', I'm just saying it's not as amazing as the hype. Other tips -look at the menu BEFORE you get in line, especially if it is buys -if you happen to snag an indoor seat realize there will be little to no privacy as the line will form right next to your table. -the birds outside are cute, friendly and will absolutely eat your food if you leave it unattended for even a moment - we saw a pack of small birds try to fly off with an entire egg croissant sandwich in the 1min the owner stepped inside for napkins. *don't worry, we stopped them
What a beautiful quaint place! Delectable baked goods. We tried the huge salted chocolate chip cookie. Yummy! Service was good. You order and they bring to table by the number. I had the fresh herbed fries and my friend had beet salad. We both had the flavored ice tea. Everything was delicious.
My group pulled up around 8 am on a Friday in mid July, and there was a line out the door. I knew this place was popular, so I wasn't too surprised. The line moved pretty quickly and gave us an opportunity to check out the menu. I was happy to see they had a fridge of beverages including Diet Coke. My husband got the egg sandwich and really likes it. I got a chocolate croissant and it was okay. I had asked for it warmed up and the girl said they make them fresh. This being her response had me under the impression that it would be fresh and warm, but the croissant wasn't warm at all and the chocolate had already harden. It was still good just not the experience I was looking for. Overall, I would go back for sure and probably order something from the kitchen next time. The outdoor seating area is totally gorgeous with lots of tables.
This place showed up on every list of places to try for breakfast in Jackson, so we decided to give it a shot. It's a cute little building with very photogenic food, but it feels like its success is due to its Instagram-appeal as opposed to the quality of the food. I had a cheddar and chive biscuit that was pretty dry and did not have much flavor. My daughter's egg was undercooked and the cinnamon bun my daughter had looked appealing but the taste did not measure up.
Persephone Bakery is a cute stand alone building just off the main square in Jackson, WY. We stopped in this small quaint space with many happy patrons enjoying their morning sweets. Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.
Cute and clean little bakery with indoor and outdoor seating. Employees were very friendly. I tried the chocolate chip cookie (3/5) and oatmeal cranberry cookie (5/5). The chocolate chip cookie was a bit dry but I loved the oatmeal cranberry cookie. It was slightly crispy and tasted delicious. It was perfect with the white chocolate mocha (5/5).
I absolutely LOVE this place!! I saw it listed on several "places you have to try" online lists in Jackson hole. I love a bakery/sweet treats and a good coffee. This place has it all -- the drinks were fabulous, as were the pastries. They made me a tea latte fog-style, and I tried the Dubai chocolate latte - both so, SO good. The mixed berry frangipane tarte also changed my views on tartes forever. It was so good I bought two. They are pretty big and it's a lot of sugar so you can't come here too often but the next time I come to Jackson hole I will definitely still be coming for a drink and a treat! They have real food too - the croque madame was the best I've had, loved the flavors. The inside is super cute too and they have a lovely patio with heaters for the colder weather. The staff are all very sweet too, and move fast despite the place always being super busy and there being a line. You definitely don't feel forgotten despite all the business which is impressive. Bathrooms are clean too, and free spots parking right in front of the place. Could not rec this place higher, hope they're around for a good long time!!
Let me start off with the ambience, the bakery is very cute and inviting. If you sit outside during the cold, there are blankets you can use. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have some heaters throughout the outdoor seating. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and it was delicious. My husband ordered the bacon and eggs. It was good but not a lot of food for the price. He ordered Americano and it was weak in taste. I ordered a tea. It came in a large tea pot, but only had one tea bag in it and therefore had little flavor. I would much rather have a cup of tea with one bag. Overall the food was very good, but a little on the pricey side for what you got. We don't have a problem paying for a good breakfast as long as the portions are reasonable. The service was great. Our orders came quickly and staff cleaned up after us in an appropriate time.
Giving 2 starts for the Garden Area in the back, super cute! And full of flowers & small birds! Some ppl preferred Persephone over Cowboy Coffee.. so we decided to try it first. Was excited for the pastries, their window casing was full of amazing looking stuff! (I later learned... that if the casing is full -- this might mean two things? It's either not very good. Or it's not very fresh.) We got the cheddar scallion biscuit & blueberry muffin. They were both DRY and taste-less.. it's hard to mess up a Blueberry muffin! The muffin was not sweet, even with the crumble on top.. didn't taste like blueberries, it was just plain. The biscuit was hard as a rock, and was also dry.. you could barely taste the cheese. We also got their hazelnut lattes, the coffee was okay.. nothing special. I think a regular black coffee would have been better. Overall disappointing..
We stopped in on our last day on the way out of town. The cafe was pretty busy at lunchtime on a May Monday. The interior was really cute and seemed intentional with all the decor and set up. We ordered one salad and one sandwich. Both of us liked our meals, but I will note that the sandwich doesn't come with anything, you have to pay for à la cart items. We also got 2 bakery items to go and enjoyed those as well. I would recommend the place if in town

We stopped by this coffee bakery expecting a cozy experience and some fresh pastries. The food had its highlights, I'll give it that. The grilled cheese was genuinely tasty, and I really liked the cortado. The pecan pie was fine -- not outstanding, but enjoyable enough. The croissant, though, was disappointing. It was served cold, not warmed up at all, and surprisingly, they don't even offer a plain croissant. It may sound like a minor detail, but when you're paying bakery-level prices, those details count. The bigger problem, however, was the service -- especially the brunette woman at the counter. From the second we approached, the atmosphere felt unfriendly. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact. There was no willingness to assist, no recommendations, and no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Her expression stayed cold the entire time, and it honestly felt like we were inconveniencing her simply by ordering. To top it off, it took nearly five minutes just to get a basic receipt, with no explanation or acknowledgment. And that's the thing about customer service -- it shapes the entire experience. A café can have great coffee, appealing food, and a beautiful interior, but when the first interaction feels distant and unwelcoming, it overshadows everything else. Staff members are the face of a business, and when customers leave feeling ignored or unwanted, it leaves a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Beautiful space and some solid food, but service is what defines whether people return -- and unfortunately, this experience made us not want to come back.
Local popular spot! Sweet Potato & Fried Brussel Sprout hash - would almost love it if it's less saucy. The bottom was sorta soaked in sauces, made the dish quite heavy. Grilled Cheese was tasty too.

The hubs and I came for more of a brunch timeframe for us. The line was out the door and understandably so. You order at the counter but there is so much to look at on the shelves that it might be worth a pass through before ordering (it is a tight space). I went with the seeded avocado bowl minus pickled onions and goat cheese. This was an absolutely delicious bowl and I ate every last fried caper. The hubs opted for the bacon, egg, cheese, avocado croissant sammie. He also got a kouing aman. He was happy with everything. The service was fast and friendly and the food arrived quickly. Popped in just after opening on a Saturday as I remembered this place got slammed. Grabbed a couple of drip coffees, a cinnamon brioche and my hiking partner had the omelette with sweet pea ricotta. Coffee was above average. The brioche was light and tasty. Omelette was top notch and included a very hearty toast. Waiter was super pleasant and the outside seating around side was perfect. read more

Super cute spot in downtown Jackson. I walked in around 1 on a busy Friday and was able to order quickly and had my sandwich toasted and delivered in under 10 min. Lots of outdoor seating but if the weather isn't great it could be tight inside. The ham and cheese sandwich was incredible and they offer to toast it for you! The chocolate chip cookie was incredible- honestly one of the best I've had and that is very high praise (I can be picky) - warm and melty chocolate chips and a soft inner with a slightly crunchy outer. This place is such a cute spot, right in the heart of Jackson Hole! The baristas were training a new barista when I came in, but still very quick and efficient. I ordered a salted caramel latte (iced), a cheddar and scallion scone, and a box of their animal crackers to go. The iced latte was high quality and not too sweet. The scone would have been sooo much better if they heated it up a little! Still tasty, just a little on the hard side. The animal crackers are thin and crispy with a good layer of cinnamon sugar. Pros: - Super cute breakfast spot. Very well decorated. Perfectly instagram-able - Plenty of seating outdoors even for big groups - Breakfast sandwich was filling and tasty. The butter croissant was flakey, egg tasted fresh, and thick ham - Away from the crowds in town square Cons: - Very cramped and busy inside. - Ordering is easy. Getting your order is kind of a mess - Employees are not friendly. My iced latte was missing after a long wait time, and when I tried to get the batista's attention, he seemed visibly annoyed. It was so busy so I felt bad but also needed my order. I found out a lot of the order slips had fallen. - Yogurt parfait is super skippable. We got the rose pistachio lattes, the crème filled pastry, and a classic ham and cheese pastry! It was all so good! The pastries are delicious and they warm them up. The lattes are just so yummy! They have a great cute little house. It's decorated like a cottage with cute flowers. The service is always fast and they bring the pastries to your table after you order. read more

Came here a couple times on a trip to JH. The spot is super cute, has a good menu, cute things to buy (mugs, treats, etc), and a nice bakery case. The special hot apple cider was great. It's nice they give you a full pot of tea with a hot tea order. Their Easter rice krispie was huge and tasty. Mushroom omelette was the best thing I ate in JH. They get very busy and don't do anything to help turn tables. People have to stand around with their food until a table opens up. Bad experience. Even though I liked so much about this place, they lose 2 full starts because their staff was straight up rude. Very unfriendly, acted like you were bothering them, had an attitude. It was enough to make me stop coming here and I would hesitate to come back the next time I'm in JH. read more

Suuuuuper cute bakery in downtown Jackson that all my friends recommended. The interior is just very very cute and they have these wooden spoons decorating the wall. They have beautiful pastries and sell all kinds of cookies and other gifts. I went for breakfast early in the morning right when they opened. I ordered their basic breakfast to eat there - eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, and toast. If you're vegetarian, you can swap out the meat for kale. And you can add avocado for an extra charge (which I did). I did scrambled eggs with sausage, also ordered a matcha oat latte, and got a the spinach and feta croissant. While I waited for my food, I played around with their vintage typewriter which was pretty fun. People type stuff up and pin it up on their board. The breakfast was Beautifullllllll. The toast was delicious. The bread they use for it is one of the best breads i've ever had in my life. I want more of this bread. The sausage however was SO SALTY. The eggs were good. Matcha was good (they don't sweeten it fyi). The pastry i picked was beautiful but it wasn't that good. The filling lacked flavor and the pastry part was just ok. I wouldn't pick this one again and i wish i had gone with an almond croissant or a danish. But solid place for breakfast, super cute interior, friendly staff. read more

best place to eat in jackson hole! i've tried many restaurants in this town and most are just overpriced and not great. this place has quick service despite a long line, the cutest interior & decorations. the people are so friendly and the food is divine! perfectly crafted! brioche french toast: so good! it had cream in between the layers of bread and the mascarpone on top was divine. it had pistachios and plum on top. it was the perfect balance of sweet and savory & the perfect amount of food. cinnamon brioche: the first bite was a little dry but the center was sooo soft and moist. perfect amount of cinnamon bread ratio orange juice: fresh squeezed and so yummy! read more

One of those beautiful little bakery café spots that looks like it's straight out of a high end design magazine -- AND the foods as delicious (and beautiful!) to match! I happened by here on a beautiful fall afternoon and snagged a salad, an apple pastry, and a pot of tea and sat outside under some beautiful fall foliage and just chilled out man. It was honestly one of the best lunches I've had in ages for the vibes alone. I ordered the panzanella salad at the counter which the server then brought out to me. Salad was totally delicious and surprisingly filling even without added protein. The pasty was just perfectly cooked, you'd almost think it was plastic food because it was that unnaturally perfect -- but yes indeed it tasted great and not like plastic at all. Then I washed it all down with Milk Oolong tea which was similarly perfect and never got too bitter. I will admit the prices here are unsurprisingly on the spendier side of bakeries but whatever, ya know what you're getting into when you go to Jackson. Highly recommended either way. read more

This was a cute place for breakfast in Jackson Hole. Not far from the town square, it's got street parking. On a September Saturday, it was very crowded but had lots of outdoor seating (it was chilly so people were clamoring to sit inside.) My friend and I got lucky with an indoor table. The line was out the door but service was efficient. You order at the counter and they bring it to you. We both got the turmeric lattes with oat milk and I got the egg, cheese and tomato breakfast sandwich. The latte was and my sandwich, a simple but filling option. I ended up taking half of it to go for lunch later on. On a quieter and warmer day, it would be nice to enjoy a latte or dessert on the patio to people watch. I was only in town one day but hope to visit again and would come back! read more

It's a very small place but set up nicely. There are some bottled drinks on the left when you walk in. Grab them if you want them, there's no signs telling you how it works. You wait in line until someone behind the counter takes your order. There are menus by the door and pastries in a glass cabinet. I got the egg sandwich with bacon and it was amazing. The aioli and soft croissant really make a difference. I grabbed a Kouign-amann to go, and it alone made the stop worth it. read more
Unfortunately most "highly rated" places we ate in Jackson Hole were disappointing - except Persephone Bakery. We came here every morning and maybe afternoon we were in Wyoming lol. Don't judge. Breakfast was amazing - the omelette with ricotta and pea were phenomenal and their maple sausage is snappy and delicious! Every baked item we had was amazing - loved the seasonal apple croissant. This would be so dangerous to live by if I wasn't just traveling through Jackson. Their baked goods are gorgeous, creative, and clearly well-baked from even just looking at them, much less tasting them. I recommend coming soon after they open if you want the best to-go, as it will sell out. My favorite pastry in the world is the kouign amann. I was looking forward to trying it here, but of course they were all gone by the time I was there. The french macaron and blueberry muffin were great consolation pastries. I came later because I wanted to have a sit-down lunch. The interior is so charming, but I had to sit outside with my dog on the comfortable patio. My turmeric latte was good, but too strong a choice to go with the flavors of anything else I was eating. I treated myself to a Gin + Juice too, which was refreshing and well-balanced with the beet juice and ginger. For brunch, I ordered the perfectly made omelette, with bright and beautiful sweet pea ricotta to set off the peppery arugula. I love how well they've done with a short but brilliant menu and pastry selection. It just goes to show that more often it's better to focus on doing a few things extremely well than overextend yourself. read more

Worth the wait! Was a line forming but it goes quick. I came here cause the locals say they're the best. I'm a latte and a croissant snob so I wanted the best in town. Omg amazing pastries and coffee! I'm a regular latte kind of gal but my gf told me to try their popular hazelnut oat milk latte.... Wow! Love it!!!! Never thought I would like oat milk. Well I like this one at least! We also got a French toast and all I can say is wow! The indoor seating area is small. All first come first serve. There's a large patio in the back. Service is great and everyone is super friendly! You guys! How is their croissant better than the ones in San Francisco and nyc??? read more

The CUTEST bakery spot. Food was amazing and coffee was delicious too. They had their fall flavors out which didn't disappoint. The local grown flowers were beautiful and the shop was so cute. Incredible place!!!! Enjoyed EVERYTHING I ordered!!! Especially loved their seeded avocado bowl for breakfast (ate it twice) and their flank steak sandwich (has a kick to it)!Fantastic atmosphere and surprisingly fast service--limited seating inside but tons outside. We stayed in Jackson for 3 nights and ate here 5 times!! We will definitely come back the next time we're in Jackson! read more
Persephone is the highest rated bakery in the area, so having a major sweet tooth, I gravitated here like a magnet. We arrived here for brunch, and were impressed by the architecture and overall ambience. Its beautiful, white exterior adorned with flowers, and its outside seating area with ample seating facing a view of the mountains set the tone for a charming experience. Inside, it was a bit more cramped and packed to the brim with customers looking to get their fill of delicious pastries, decadent lattes, and sandwiches. After the friendly staff went over a few recommended options, I'd settled with a hazelnut iced latte, a double chocolate chip cookie /w walnuts, tuna salad sandwich, and an avocado bowl. The hazelnut iced latte was one of the best iced coffees I've had, rich and with large hints of Ferrero Rocher chocolates with every sip. The double chocolate chip cookie /w walnuts was fantastic and a very popular option here. It's gooey in the best way, dense, and generous on the chocolate chip and walnut filling. Everything worked and I'll be sure to order this on every future visit. Now for savory; the tuna salad sandwich was a top 2 I've ever tried. It was a bit salty, but it worked. Bread (find out) had great texture, it was light on mayo which gave room to explore flavors from all the other ingredients such as sliced cucumbers, capers, red onion, and sun dried tomatoes. Loved this. The seeded avocado bowl was both beautifully plated and delicious. It had an assortment of fresh and tasty ingredients that blended well together such as avocado slices embedded in everything spice, colorful cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, smoked salmon, feta cheese, crisp, rye biscuits, sliced soft boiled eggs, capers, and pickled red onions. Healthy and an absolute winner. read more
The vibe / aesthetic of this place is super nice and everything is plated really well. The food and baked goods are so so and quite expensive thoigh. If I wanted to pay $6 for a small + mediocre ham and cheese croissant I could have stayed home lol. The avocado bowl was literally a half of an avocado with some sides. I did enjoy the apple cider cake! But otherwise could not recommend any of the food. read more
The pastries are incredible. The layers of croissants are done perfectly. It's super light, thin and crispy. The capuchino has no sourness after taste, which is great. Quiche is a must-try in their menu. The coffee shop/bakery is super cute inside out. It's so crowded in the morning so finding a table can be tricky. The majority of people to-go their coffee for this reason. read more

What kind of gluten free options?
They have a gf double chocolate cookie that is delicious. They have a rotating menu but I can always find a couple breakfast items that are gluten free and a few salads.
I've been calling here for two days to see if we can get outdoor seating but no one picks up. Any suggestions?
They do have a small deck that has outside seating.
