I'd read about Persephone before our trip and marked it as a "must try" while in Jackson Hole. We walked over early (8am) on a Thursday morning to grab a cup of coffee and peruse the pastries. We were very surprised to find the line already went out the door! The line moved fast and boy you better be ready to order when you step up, because it is a fast moving, no messing around system. In addition there were at least three employees taking orders at the counter so the pastry case is extremely crowded and it's difficult to view what the options are. The employees weren't un-kind, but they there were no niceties like "good morning". They wanted to move you through the line quickly, so we didn't feel we could really peruse the pastries and so we skipped it and we just ordered a hot coffee and a large hot almond milk latte. People were already more than crowded inside waiting for their items so we stepped onto the patio. It was a chilly morning so the small fire pit was welcomed. For the giant crowd waiting we received our drinks within a reasonable time frame. They call names from inside behind the counter, so if you are not within 4 feet of the counter you will not hear them. We sat on the patio near the garden and the view was beautiful. My "large" latte was the same small size of my husband's drip coffee and both appeared to be around 12-14oz. Disappointing. The drip coffee was okay, but not worth returning for and my almond milk latte was also just okay. We maybe would have given Persephone another try, but in the end we chose to try the many other coffee/bakery shops in downtown. I'm not saying 'stay away', I'm just saying it's not as amazing as the hype. Other tips -look at the menu BEFORE you get in line, especially if it is buys -if you happen to snag an indoor seat realize there will be little to no privacy as the line will form right next to your table. -the birds outside are cute, friendly and will absolutely eat your food if you leave it unattended for even a moment - we saw a pack of small birds try to fly off with an entire egg croissant sandwich in the 1min the owner stepped inside for napkins. *don't worry, we stopped them
What a beautiful quaint place! Delectable baked goods. We tried the huge salted chocolate chip cookie. Yummy! Service was good. You order and they bring to table by the number. I had the fresh herbed fries and my friend had beet salad. We both had the flavored ice tea. Everything was delicious.
My group pulled up around 8 am on a Friday in mid July, and there was a line out the door. I knew this place was popular, so I wasn't too surprised. The line moved pretty quickly and gave us an opportunity to check out the menu. I was happy to see they had a fridge of beverages including Diet Coke. My husband got the egg sandwich and really likes it. I got a chocolate croissant and it was okay. I had asked for it warmed up and the girl said they make them fresh. This being her response had me under the impression that it would be fresh and warm, but the croissant wasn't warm at all and the chocolate had already harden. It was still good just not the experience I was looking for. Overall, I would go back for sure and probably order something from the kitchen next time. The outdoor seating area is totally gorgeous with lots of tables.
This place showed up on every list of places to try for breakfast in Jackson, so we decided to give it a shot. It's a cute little building with very photogenic food, but it feels like its success is due to its Instagram-appeal as opposed to the quality of the food. I had a cheddar and chive biscuit that was pretty dry and did not have much flavor. My daughter's egg was undercooked and the cinnamon bun my daughter had looked appealing but the taste did not measure up.
Persephone Bakery is a cute stand alone building just off the main square in Jackson, WY. We stopped in this small quaint space with many happy patrons enjoying their morning sweets. Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.
Cute and clean little bakery with indoor and outdoor seating. Employees were very friendly. I tried the chocolate chip cookie (3/5) and oatmeal cranberry cookie (5/5). The chocolate chip cookie was a bit dry but I loved the oatmeal cranberry cookie. It was slightly crispy and tasted delicious. It was perfect with the white chocolate mocha (5/5).
I absolutely LOVE this place!! I saw it listed on several "places you have to try" online lists in Jackson hole. I love a bakery/sweet treats and a good coffee. This place has it all -- the drinks were fabulous, as were the pastries. They made me a tea latte fog-style, and I tried the Dubai chocolate latte - both so, SO good. The mixed berry frangipane tarte also changed my views on tartes forever. It was so good I bought two. They are pretty big and it's a lot of sugar so you can't come here too often but the next time I come to Jackson hole I will definitely still be coming for a drink and a treat! They have real food too - the croque madame was the best I've had, loved the flavors. The inside is super cute too and they have a lovely patio with heaters for the colder weather. The staff are all very sweet too, and move fast despite the place always being super busy and there being a line. You definitely don't feel forgotten despite all the business which is impressive. Bathrooms are clean too, and free spots parking right in front of the place. Could not rec this place higher, hope they're around for a good long time!!
Let me start off with the ambience, the bakery is very cute and inviting. If you sit outside during the cold, there are blankets you can use. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have some heaters throughout the outdoor seating. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and it was delicious. My husband ordered the bacon and eggs. It was good but not a lot of food for the price. He ordered Americano and it was weak in taste. I ordered a tea. It came in a large tea pot, but only had one tea bag in it and therefore had little flavor. I would much rather have a cup of tea with one bag. Overall the food was very good, but a little on the pricey side for what you got. We don't have a problem paying for a good breakfast as long as the portions are reasonable. The service was great. Our orders came quickly and staff cleaned up after us in an appropriate time.
Giving 2 starts for the Garden Area in the back, super cute! And full of flowers & small birds! Some ppl preferred Persephone over Cowboy Coffee.. so we decided to try it first. Was excited for the pastries, their window casing was full of amazing looking stuff! (I later learned... that if the casing is full -- this might mean two things? It's either not very good. Or it's not very fresh.) We got the cheddar scallion biscuit & blueberry muffin. They were both DRY and taste-less.. it's hard to mess up a Blueberry muffin! The muffin was not sweet, even with the crumble on top.. didn't taste like blueberries, it was just plain. The biscuit was hard as a rock, and was also dry.. you could barely taste the cheese. We also got their hazelnut lattes, the coffee was okay.. nothing special. I think a regular black coffee would have been better. Overall disappointing..
We stopped in on our last day on the way out of town. The cafe was pretty busy at lunchtime on a May Monday. The interior was really cute and seemed intentional with all the decor and set up. We ordered one salad and one sandwich. Both of us liked our meals, but I will note that the sandwich doesn't come with anything, you have to pay for à la cart items. We also got 2 bakery items to go and enjoyed those as well. I would recommend the place if in town

We stopped by this coffee bakery expecting a cozy experience and some fresh pastries. The food had its highlights, I'll give it that. The grilled cheese was genuinely tasty, and I really liked the cortado. The pecan pie was fine -- not outstanding, but enjoyable enough. The croissant, though, was disappointing. It was served cold, not warmed up at all, and surprisingly, they don't even offer a plain croissant. It may sound like a minor detail, but when you're paying bakery-level prices, those details count. The bigger problem, however, was the service -- especially the brunette woman at the counter. From the second we approached, the atmosphere felt unfriendly. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact. There was no willingness to assist, no recommendations, and no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Her expression stayed cold the entire time, and it honestly felt like we were inconveniencing her simply by ordering. To top it off, it took nearly five minutes just to get a basic receipt, with no explanation or acknowledgment. And that's the thing about customer service -- it shapes the entire experience. A café can have great coffee, appealing food, and a beautiful interior, but when the first interaction feels distant and unwelcoming, it overshadows everything else. Staff members are the face of a business, and when customers leave feeling ignored or unwanted, it leaves a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Beautiful space and some solid food, but service is what defines whether people return -- and unfortunately, this experience made us not want to come back.
Local popular spot! Sweet Potato & Fried Brussel Sprout hash - would almost love it if it's less saucy. The bottom was sorta soaked in sauces, made the dish quite heavy. Grilled Cheese was tasty too.

Arta was so welcoming and helpful taking my order and enrolling me in the rewards program! The basic eggs breakfast was outstanding with just the BEST bacon! Yum! Luis who is the barista made me the best London Fog 2 days in a row. While I was waiting he made a coffee with the most festive wintry design so I took a pic and attached it! I ate here my first visit and the cute little bistro setting is reminiscent of a tea room so quaint ! Everything is just chef's kiss here! read more

Persephone is one of the Jackson spots that's on all the lists. It's a walk-up and place your order, then wait for them to call you when it's ready, kinda place. This French bakery is known for their baked goods, but they also do full plates, lunch, and sammiches. I selected the Brioche French Toast. It was delicious. Stone fruit, chopped pistachios, cinnamon sugar, and mascarpone cream all topped this crispy, fluffy brioche bread. Honestly, when I saw it, I thought it looked a little small, but it was actually quite filling, and just a perfect serving size. My wife enjoyed a chocolate croissant. And we got a strawberry cream cheese pastry to go. The restaurant is small with some seating inside and some outside as well. We opted for an outside table, because the weather was perfect, and it was more spacious. The restaurant also has various food and non-food items for sale. read more

If I could give zero stars for service, I would. Started our morning here. Every staff member looked miserable -- not one smile. No one asked if our order was for here or to go, so our pastries were tossed in a bag. Indoor seating was full, so we asked for something to wipe the wet outdoor tables. The guy up front look annoyed & said he'd "see"- never followed up. When our drinks were ready, I asked another worker for plates. She muttered without any eye contact she'd get them "in a second" & never did -- she didn't seem to care to help and ensure I had everything I needed after handing me my drinks. We ended up eating off the bags outside and wiping down the tables ourselves. The terrible service really spoiled things for us and we never returned during our stay in Jackson Hole for that very reason. I've always heard Wyoming people are friendly -- and they are-- just not at this place. read more

This place is a gem!!!! We decided to go here after reading impressive reviews and we are SO glad we did! We loved it so much that we went twice back to back and would've gone a third time if we weren't leaving the next day. It's super cute bakery/brunch spot but has very limited seating. Thankfully, people go in and out so you don't have to wait for long but it's not a place where you can sit and chat for hours because there are other people waiting and even hovering to grab your table. The prices here are very reasonable. There's a cute typewriter towards the bathroom that you can take advantage of to leave a little note! Also, the Teton Wildflower Honey is the BEST honey I've ever had! It's a bit pricey but SO worth it. Ok, let's talk about the food. It's so incredibly yummy and unique. We got the omelette, brioche french toast, herbed fries, turmeric latte, and a cappuccino. The fries and the cappuccino were okay. The turmeric latte was extremely good. The brioche french toast was also great. However, the star of the show was definitely the omelette! It was absolutely amazing! I stay dreaming about the next time we are visiting Jackson Hole again so that we can stop by Persephone for brunch but also stock up on the Teton Wildflower honey. I recently stopped by to pick up an online order of pastries to fuel our GTNP explorations. Open arrival I hopped in line to add a couple items. The service is friendly, the ambiance is adorable; cute, bright, clean, upscale bakery. The hazelnut steamer was extra good, the coconut carrot cake was fantastic (it really hit the spot after some miles of hiking), the jalapeño cheddar biscuit was dry and flavorless (our only miss). The smores cookie was the stuff of cravings, the dark choc Bundt cake was decadent and the chocolate croissant was buttery and flakey. Came recommended. It does have a long line with not many seats in house but a lot of seating outside (when the weather is nice to enjoy a meal). The pastries are delectable! The pumpkin spice latte was the best one I have had. We came back a couple times during our visit in Jackson Hole. read more

We waited in line for about 15 minutes before ordering and it was well worth the wait! The entire menu sounded so delicious, we had a difficult time selecting our final orders. I landed on their French toast and got a chocolate chip walnut cookie on the side. It was to die for! The ricotta and fresh fruit paired with the pistachio and bread.... Heavenly! The ambiance is so sweet, tucked in the town overlooking the ski slopes. Their outside seating is shaded and lets you feel like you are in a garden. My friends and I visited Persephone bakery on a Wednesday, there was a small line (~10 min). I got a lemon lavender pound cake ($6.50) and a cheddar scallion biscuit ($5). Both were pretty good. The pound cake was the perfect amount of sweet but was on the dense side. The biscuit was nice but I wish it was a bit more cheddar flavored. Great with a cup of coffee. I think Persephone Bakery shines the most with the outdoor seating. There's plenty of plants among the tables, and with the fresh morning air it's magical. The bakery definitely gives off a west LA or north county SD vibe. Hipster ex-Californians lol. But I'm not complaining as a San Diegan. A nice treat to drop by on a trip to Yellowstone. read more

First of, this place is super cute. I navigated here and was confused as to where the shop was because this cute little house couldn't have been it. It was and it was just as cute inside as it was outside. There was a line, even in the off season, but it moved very quickly and we were able to get a seat inside. There was outdoor seating but I'm a wimp and don't like to sit outside to eat when it's cold. They did offer blankets to people sitting outside, which I thought was really nice. We wanted to get a mid day snack, so we opted to come in and have a hot drink and maybe a baked good. However, the appeal of a grilled cheese on this bright, chilly day got me. The only issue was they had changed the menu but not the menus so there was no grilled cheese and my husband doesn't eat ham so we couldn't get the ham and cheese. We decided on the kids grilled cheese. It was really good but also really greasy. We also had the cinnamon brioche. Excellent! We didn't get coffees, we tried the mulled apple cider and a London fog latte. That might have been one of the best London fogs I've ever had. The apple cider was pretty delicious as well. This place was good enough that it's another "I wish we had this in Vegas" place on my list. read more

In a span of 4 days, we ate here 5 times. This place will forever be engraved in my memory of Jackson, WY. Everything on the menu is just so good. I can recommend everything on it, and I am sure you will enjoy it. The things we ordered more than once were the Orange latte, biscuits and gravy, and the quiche. The biscuits and gravy was so flavorful and the biscuit is rich and filled with all types of spices and goods. 10/10 dish. The Quiche was packed with a lot of protein and veggies. One slice may not sound like much, but that thing got me full. I look forward to next time I am able to visit Persephone. Thank you for a wonderful experience. read more
After seeing the reviews and the line to order, I decided to try the Croissant Sandwich. There's a few seats inside but would recommend sitting outside if the weather permits. Ordering was fast and efficient and my food came out in a sufficient time. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was on point. The seats outside were not the most comfortable but the tables were sturdy and didn't rock back and forth like a lot of patio tables. The staff were friendly and accommodating. read more

Can't get over the negative energy of the service! Not the welcome you want first thing in the morning. The pastries are flaking and delicious just wish I had more time to read and look at them. Felt extremely rushed at the counter. I just picked one, don't ask me which one I just know it's buttery and flaky. The chai tea is good but nothing to brag about. Could have been hotter. Absolutely worth the hype! The line might seem long, but it moves quickly, and it's worth the wait. Super gluten free friendly (GF Muffins, GF English GF Muffins, etc.) Their pumpkin pie latte is a standout and not overly sweet. The breakfast pastries and quiche are equally impressive.They have a deck with seating and limited seating inside. The breakfast in my picture + 2 lattes was $70. A new record for most $$ cafe breakfast. I loved it here so much I visited twice during my trip to Jackson. FYI their sister café, Picnic, offers the same menu and is equally as good. read more

I didn't understand all the hype about Persephone until we experienced the food. Great food, service, experience and all around vibes! We ordered the chicken club sandwich and the pig candy salad. Let me tell ya, that was the best chicken club we've ever had. Order the fries with the fry sauce, you won't be disappointed. The salad was super tasty as well. For a mountain town, it's surprising to find a place like Persephone Bakery. The breakfast options are elevated, and the atmosphere is charming without trying too hard. Prices were reasonable and service was great! I didn't get a pastry this time (which I'm already regretting), but I'll definitely be back to change that. I went for the savory skillet scone and was impressed--the sausage gravy had great flavor, and the whole dish was super satisfying. It's a solid portion too; I couldn't even finish it, and I came in hungry. The cappuccino was decent--not mind-blowing, but good enough to start the day. The interior is adorable and cozy, and there's a nice porch outside that makes it even better. Highly recommend if you're in Jackson and want something that feels thoughtful and well-crafted. read more

What kind of gluten free options?
They have a gf double chocolate cookie that is delicious. They have a rotating menu but I can always find a couple breakfast items that are gluten free and a few salads.
I've been calling here for two days to see if we can get outdoor seating but no one picks up. Any suggestions?
They do have a small deck that has outside seating.
